Elements ll will not install

i have elements ll on a cd but it will not install,...i have xp with sp3 2 gb mem and at least 10 g of space on my h/disk...any help please...paul

Hi Paul,
You might try copying the installation files off of the CD into a folder on the desktop and then attempt running the installation from there.
Try going through these steps:
When the Autoplay window comes up after inserting the CD close out of the window to install
Create a new folder on the desktop by right clicking on an empty area and choosing New > Folder
Double click the newly created folder to open it and show its contents, nothing yet, keep this window open but minimize it to the taskbar
Open My Computer either from the Start menu or the icon on the desktop
Find the drive letter assigned to your CD ROM drive, probably will say Photoshop Elements and have its icon, right click and choose Open to show the files on the CD
In the window showing the disc contents, use the drop down menus along the top left (File, Edit, etc) and choose Edit > Select All to highlight all the files, then again from the same menu choose Edit > Copy
Click on the New folder tab  you minimized to the taskbar to bring it back up and in this windows drop down menus choose Edit > Paste
At that point you should see the copying process (folders with flying papers), it will probably take awhile to complete
Once this completes, open the  Elements folder within the copied files folder from the desktop  (not sure which version you have, there are two Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 11)
Inside of the Elements folder look for a file named Setup.exe, it typically will have the Elements logo and run it
See if running the installation this way makes any difference.
Do you get any kind of an error? Be sure to close out of everything else not needed when installing.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 will not install.

I have installed Photoshop Elements 9 several times, and it does not complete installation. It loads about 80% of the files, then at the point of placing an desktop icon, the softwarw rollback. My operating system is Windows 7 64 Ultimate.  My computer system includes AMD Phenom II X4 810, 8 GB RAM, GeForce NVIDIA 9600 GT (IRQ 18) and GeForce NVIDIA 8400 GS (IRQ 19). I tried to disconnect the second graphics card - no help.  I have manually removed Photoshop Elements 9 from the registry and reinstalled - no help. The error status is 1603. When installing, I closed all Adobe software, anti-virus software, and Windows Firewall. I contacted Adobe customer service several times - no help.

Hello Mylenium, I tried everything in the Error 1603 | Install site that you sent me. And, still the installation of the PhotoShop Elements 9 rollback and will not install. What is next? Thank you, Paul

  • Premier elements 10 will not install!!

Premier elements 10 will not install on my Mac.  Installing from disk. I get a bunch of words starting with Warning:DW031:  To me it is all just junk and unhelpful.  I followed the contact customer support link and it leads me to the most useless web site I have ever encountered.  Why is this so frustrating?  How do I get past this?  It has already cost me hours of frustration.  I have a screen shot of the installation status error page but nowhere to send it.  BTW, photoshop elements loaded just fine on this computer.  HELP!!

Googling DW031 shows many similar and/or helpful items. This one includes a link to Adobe's Official Response. See if that solves it for you.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 will not install. It says "Error 2343. Specified Path is Empty." Can U Help?

I purchased & downloaded Photoshop Elements 11. I installed it. Informed me some parts were missing, so I needed to uninstall it & reinstall it. I went to Programs & Features in Windows 7, & did just that. Then it informs me that it could not uninstall it properly. To try again. The program is missing now from Programs & Features. Can't find it anywhere where I can uninstall it. So, I went to Adobe to get it to uninstall. I keep getting this error; "Error 234. Specified Path is Empty" I have done everything! Cannot get it to install or uninstall. The Organizer is opening, but the Editor will not. I can't get anything to print. I have a deadline tomorrow and I cannot get any pictures to print. What am I gonna do? Can anyone please help me?

If you haven't committed to PSE12, yet, then you should be able to download PSE/PRE11 from this website.  Be sure to follow the Very Important Instructions to set the Adobe authorization cookie, because the downloads actually come from Adobe:

  • Premiere Elements 10 will not install PC

I am trying to install this but when I click the install a windows pops up stating windows installer Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.7600.16385 etc.. then nothing happens and program does not install.

Are you installing onto a 32-bit, or 64-bit version of Windows?
Are you installing from physical media, or from a download?
If media, did you get Photoshop Elements bundled with PrE?
If media, which disc are you installing from?
For general Adobe program installations, see this ARTICLE.
Adobe also has an area for installation issues. I would also post there, and furnish the answers to the above questions in that post - HERE.
    Good luck,

  • Elements Organizer will not install correctly

I recently installed the latest AAM per Adobe's suggestion to solve nother problem of "installer failed to initialize".  Now I can run the Elements setup.exe withough the failure.  However, when I try to install Elements (either Photoshop or Premiere), all that installs is the editor part.  The organizer does not install correctly.  In other words, when I open the program and click on organizer, nothing happens.  How do I solve this issue?  Rather than spend a bunch of time on this, can I manage my video files through Lightroom's catalog?
I'd prefer to get the Elements program running properly as my first option.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Brianbhood I would also ask that you please limit yourself to one discussion.  From your previous posts it is no longer clear what version of Elements you are referring too.  In addition there is another thread where you mentioned you were facing difficulties with Photoshop CS6 and Premiere CS6.

What happens when you try? Is there an invalid checksum error or anything like that?

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 will not install - rollback action issue?

Im having problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
The problem is right at the end of installation, it says status is registering and then immediately does an action rollback.
The message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
I am beyond frustrated as I have tried installing even as an administrator and Im assuming there is nothing wrong with the CD just my computer being a complete pain.
If anyone can offer some help that would be greatly appreciated.
    Holly.

    Hi Holly
I have the same problem  with the rolling back installation. Could you tell me what Ankush advised you to do to solve it.
Sorry to bother you but I seem to be hitting a brick wall elsewhere.
    Thank you in anticipation.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 will not install.

I have downloaded and extracted all 3 files, but when I double-click on the .exe file, it does nothing.  The cursor does even change to the spinning thing that tells me it is working on something.  Please help me.

I'm not sure what all you need to know.  I went to the Wacom Intuos welcome site and registered my tablet, and then I chose to download Photoshop Elements 11 as one of my free software choices.  I extracted the file as instructed.  The folder was on my desktop.  I double-clicked on the ".exe" file which was supposed to install the program, but the cursor did not even change to it's "thinking" icon--spinning wheel or sand clock.  I have Windows Vista on my computer.  I use Chrome for my browser (such as when I downloaded the file).

  • Elements 4 will not install on my new MacBook Pro

Bought Elements 4 in 2007 for my previous Power Mac and now just upgraded to a Macbook Pro and the program won't install .
Get the message that this version no longer supported for new the Intel Chip Macs. I know the version is old but worked perfectly well for my purposes.
So do I just chuck that money away and fork out for another proggie?  What is the next version?
    Thanks

Yes, you need a new version, one written for intel macs. PSE 6 is the very oldest than can be coaxed to work in 10.8, but PSE 11 is the current version. But then August is usually not a smart month for buying PSE.

  • Premiere Elements 10 will not install - msiexec issue?

I have installed Photoshop Elements 10 without a problem. When I try to install Premiere Elements 10 (from the DVD autorun installation menu) the 'choose language' pop up appears then the 'configuring windows installer' window appears and the bar moves across. Then a Windows Installer version 5 pop up appears showing all the windows installer options. It has an 'ok' button at the bottom. When that is clicked the window disappears and nothing is installed. I have tried unregistering and re-registering msiexec (both 32 bit and 64 bit versions) but that did not help. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I'm having the same issues with installing premiere elements 10.
i have windows xp sp2, have enough disc space and memory to install the program.  i am the only user on the computer with admin privileges
this is what I see when i click on setup.exe on the dvd.  see this animated gif for visual:   http://i.picasion.com/pic47/578e12bea8e438c33e7baa41cd0a3d82.gif
First the adobe install splash screen pops up.  I click on install premiere 10.  A popup indicates installshield working.  Then finally the msiexec parameter window popups and ends there.
note: ignore the endless loop, the install process just ends with the msiexec popup window.
At first i thought it might be a msiexec issue, according to info i found, i tried to reregister msiexec.  typed msiexec /unregister followed by msiexec /regserver but the problem didn't go away
Then I tried updating msiexec to version 3.1 but the new version didn't install.  I tried updating msiexec to version 4.5.  the new version of msiexec installed, but the same problem remains
a few weeks ago i installed and removed netframe thought that might be a problem, but it wasn't.
I also tried manually typing in msiexec and the msi package on the dvd, but it tells me to use setup.exe
If i install/uninstall something (going through to the start > settings > control panel > add/remove programs) installshield works.
not sure what to do next.  i read this thread from the top and mentions the log files in the temp directory, i can't find any of these files.
