Elements Organiser won't start

My Windows 7 laptop recently shut down for no reason and since then, the only way I can access Elements Organiser is through the Picture Editor. If I try to use the desktop icon and select Organiser, I get the hour glass for a second or so and then back to desktop without the programme opening. Any ideas?

Try creating a shorcut directly for the Organizer.Go to : C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Adobe\Elements <version no> Organizer
There you will find PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe file
Right click on it and select Create Shortcut. If it creates the shorcut there only, cut it and paste on the desktop. This will launch Organizer directly.

  • Organiser won't start

I have been using PSE 5.0 for a long time but since the 13th June Photoshop Elements Organiser 5.0 won’t start on my Windows 7 system:
If I run either Photoshop Elements 5.0.exe file or PhotoshopElementsOrganiser.exe, then splash screen appears then disappears
A PhotoshopElementsOrganiser process appears in task manager processes, but nothing for PSE appears in the applications tab
No error messages or dialogue boxes appear
There are no messages from PSE in the event logs.
Here is stuff I have tried:
Stopping the organiser process in task manager and trying again or rebooting the PC doesn’t help.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE from CD, but it hasn't made a difference.
I CAN run the editor directly from the PhotoshopElementsEditor .exe file in my admin account
I normally run PSE on an admin user account, so I created a new standard user account and CAN run PSE Organiser from that new account, so I guess the problem is corrupt files in the admin account.
Having read http://psekb.blogspot.in/2013/03/pse-organizer-is-not-launching.html I have also tried:
    Option 1 (delete preferences file)
The instructions are for PSE 11 and I can’t find the a file called PSA.PRF, so I am a bit stuck with this option.  (Nor can I find a prefs.psp file).
    Option 2 (Compatibilty Mode)
Having tried to run the program in compatibility mode, the same thing happens and I get a windows message saying that “Windows detected that this program did not run correctly” and suggesting that I try again.  I try again and there is a subtle difference – usually the organiser process uses about 80MB memory and now it is using 130MB, but it still doesn’t run.
Any idea about how to fix this so that I can run this from my usual account?

  • My Premiere Elements 9 won´t start, it stars loading and then it stops.

After replacing two drivers (as Adobe told me to because wasn´t showing the preview of vids, just sound) my premiere elements won´t start. I replaced the files and didn´t start. Then I replaced those files with the originals that I saved just in case, but the same issue. Does anyone know how to start the program again?
    Thank you.

  • Elements 5 Won't Start

All of a sudden Elements 5 won't open.  No notices or error messages - it just doesn't open.  The process shows up in Task Manager and I can end it.  I've restarted the computer.  No change.  I've launched it with the control key pressed and opted to have it attempt to repair the catalog.  No change.  Not sure what to try next.  Would prefer not to lose all of the collections I have set-up.  Any suggestions?

  • Photoshop Elements 10 won't start

I wanted to add some new photos to my Elements 10 catalogue earlier and get a couple of error messages.
The first is that "Windows requires a reboot to return the system to it's original state". However, rebooting does not seem to make any changes.
If I ignore and close that message, I then get a 2nd message from Elements 10 itself stating:- "DirectX could not be initialized. Please be sure that it is installed on your system".
I made sure that the latest version is downloaded and installed, but Elements Organizer still won't initialise.
Any advice and help would be appreciated.

  • Photoshop elements 11 won't start up

    Hi,
Whenever I open photoshop elements 11 it loads up, shows my organizer screen breifly then closes out and gives me a message saying I must back up my files.  I can click cancel, don't show me this message again or click to start the backup.  The backup will run, but both options do not stop the message from showing the next time I try running the program.  Also, the window for the program does not reappear after the message is shown.  I have to force close the program through task manager or restart my computer to get the program to open again-except it gives the back up message and the cycle begins again.  Even I click do not show this message again, it pops up the next time I open the program.  Any one have ideas on how to fix this?

Me too. PE11 Win 7 pro, i7-2600, 16Gb@1600mhz ram 120GB SSD for win, 2x1Tb HDD. It was working before the security breach. Now welcome screen opens and I pick organizer or editor but nothing else happens, If I open directly from the harddrive i get error messages saying it is not properly installed. I've been on the phone for several hours with different techs. we have unloaded and reloaded several times but no joy. I'm trying to start a photo business but adobe is holding me back. Can anyone recomend a non adobe product?

  • Elements 7 won't start

I've been using Elements 7 (installed wlhen bought computer) for several years, had work done on computer yesterday, can't activate Elements (software is there) -- have backup disk, should I try to repair or just delete and try to reload fom disk?

Try lauching Elements by using the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file located your Adobe Photoshop elements programs folder. Assuming it works, you can right click the exe then create a new shortcut from the exe file. You can do the same thing with the PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe.
If I remember correctly, making a shortcut from the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe circumvents the welcome screen.
If you want that welcome screen, you can insert your disc and reinstall. It won't hurt anything or change any preferences other than bringing back the shortcut and changing some file associations. (You know the old every image wants to open with Elements deal.)
If attempting to launch Photoshop Elements from the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe did not work, reset the application preference file. Corrupt preference files are not fixed by uninstall/reinstall as they are stored outside of the application's program folder.  Press and hold in the ctrl + shift + alt keys when you launch the Editor. Keep holding in these three keys until a dialog comes up saying something like "Delete Photoshop Elements settings file." You can release the three keys when the dialog comes up. Press "OK" to accept. Elements should load...

  • New Photoshop Elements 12 won't start installation

Just bought Adobe photoshop elements 12. The disc will pop out after 15 seconds. I hear my Mac but nothing happen. I have all the system requirements (Mac OSX (10.8.5) and recent version of Flash Player. What could be the problem. Thanks!

    St. Viateur
Although you purchased the bundle of Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12, each is a standalone product. And, each has it own set of considerations based on its basic reason for being, Photoshop Elements (photo editor) and Premiere Elements (video editor).
However, if I am understanding what you are trying to tell us....
I see your rationale in posting in the Premiere Elements forum since your issue seems to target the installation disc which includes installation files for Premiere Elements as well as Photoshop Elements.
Am I correct in understanding that you insert this one and only disc into your DVD burner tray and, before you can select Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements, the DVD burner tray pops open? Is that correct?
Please excuse the following additional questions, but I do not want to take anything for granted...
    a. These bundles come with installation disc for Windows and Mac. Could you have picked up the Windows disc by mistake?
    b. Did you purchase the bundle from Adobe or an authorized reseller?
Please verify my understanding of your basic question and confirm that you installation disc is the one for Mac not Windows.
Let us start here and then move forward from there.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Premiere elements 8 won't start new project; crash reports

I just bought Premiere elements 8 and downloaded it, twice, because every time i try to start a new project a crash report comes up and the program closes. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Alondra,
there is a separate forum for Premiere Elements at
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements
I suggest that you look over there. They have a Premiere Elements FAQs section posted over on the right hand side of the thread listing. So I suggest that you look at those FAQs and if you don't find your answer there, then post in the main section of the Premiere Elements forum.
Also if your computer has a Nvidia video card there is a banner at the top of the forum with specific info.
    Good luck.

  • Premiere elements 7 won't start

newbie here.not computer savvy.  i have just purchased pe7. i have successfully loaded the file but when i go back to start program i get an error message and it must shut down. i've done everything according to instructions i.e. no anti virus or other programs running. i noticed that one of the requirements is windows xp service pack 2, i have servicew pack 3, could this be problem. any help would be appreciated.

I'm with John. The main reasons the program won't launch are:
    1) Inadequate hardware. You should have at least double what Adobe lists as minimums. In particular, you'll not only need room on your hard drive to install the program but at least 20 gigs of free, defragmented space just to open it. (It's not that the program itself requires that much. But your operating system needs lots of paging space to run more intensive programs.) You'll also need two or three times that free space to do any video editing.
    2) Outdated firmware. In particular, and outdated version of Quicktime. Your Windows Update doesn't always load all the necessary updates. Secunia's program can help you find out what else you need, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/416585?tstart=0
    3) Finally, there is the possibility the program didn't take on the first installation. Occasionally, when your system is updated and you have adequate hardware, you may need to uninstall the program and reinstall it to get it to run right.
