It's exceptionally rare when I don't agree with you...
But on that one, there must be a confusion : the creation of version sets does really create a modified copy of the original file.
Creating a set of directions is the way you can edit files in ACR or Lightroom : (parametric edition).
In practice :
You open a raw or jpeg file in ACR in PSE, use the sliders to get the desired rendition, then you click 'Done'. No edited duplicate has been created.
Your edits are saved and you don't lose any important disk space, since the edits are stored in a tiny .xmp sidecar file.
But if you click 'Open' and edit/save the picture, a version set is created : a modified copy linked to the original.
You can have many 'versions' of an original : for printing, the web, black and white, with filter effects... It's always easy to find the original and your workspace can show only one version to show more different pictures in the browsing space for quicker visual selection.

restart you computer and use finder to check for downloaded/installed files.

Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements 10

This product worked great up till yesterday. I went to open it and it wouldn't allow me to open it. I uninstalled the program, jumped through all the hoop to re-instal it, and it still doesn't work. Why all of a sudden? I've tried re-booting my computer and everything. I just don't get it.

Can I run Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements 10 on my PC

My computer has a dual core pentium E2140 processor running at 1.6 Ghz, 2 GB RAM and an NVidia GForce 8400GS graphics card with 512 MB. Will Premiere Elements 10 run OK on it for SD video and will Photoshop Elements 10 run on it OK

Problem:-Premiere Elements 7 and Photoshop Elements 7

Error message:- 'The application has requested that runtime terminates in an unusual way'. Then windows shuts the programs down. This started happening on both these programs last week. It happens as soon as the programs loads up ready for use. This has never happened before and I have been using the prograns since 2009. What can I do??

Hallo Jürgen,
was für Daten erwartest Du denn von deinem Drucker?! Oder handelt es sich bei dem genannten Gerät um ein Vielzweckgerät mit integriertem Scanner?
Also mein PSE 8 listet mir unter dem genannten Menü nur meine aktuell angeschlossenen Scanner (Flachbettscanner, Filmscanner)

Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9 wont load in computer

I just bought
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and took it home to load into my computer running windows XP with service pack 3 and all it does is show a small box in the upper left corner of the screen, looks like its loading something for about five seconds and then dissappears and nothing more happens. I tried to go to my computer and find the drive with it in it which I did and start it that way with no luck, tried to find an EXE. file with no luck and then returned it to the store thinking it was defective and got another one, same deal here too. I spent about four hours trying to get this to load and am about ready to throw this program into the pond out front. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. John

You hit the nail on the head. I bought Premiere Elements 9 and Photoshop Elements 9 together in one box and I thought that the four dics (two per program?) was what I got and didnt look at the disks closely. Also it figures that the Mac disks were first in line so I tried to load those first with no luck. Thanks for your help. John

Upgrade from premiere elements11 and photoshop elements 11 to version 12

Hello i think I buy te upgrade from the packket premiere elements 11 and photoshop elements 11 to version 12 of this to produkts, when I do that create the upgrade then new icons on your desctop screen or overwright the upgrade the version 11 total, must I remove version 11 before or can I do that after the upgrade to version 12.

I do not believe that you mentioned what computer operating system you are using for your Premiere Elements 11 and 12.
Although Photoshop Elements 12 may be lacking some of your Photoshop Elements 11 features, Premiere Elements 11 and 12 are essentially the same, but 12 does give a few additional features which may or may not be necessary for your present or planned workflows.
Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements 11 and 12 perform the same and well for me on Windows 7 64 bit. I cannot say the same specifically for Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit. Premiere Elements 11 is performing fine on this same Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit where Premiere Elements 12 is not.
Just beware of any intergration perks that you might lose if you decide to pick and choose the best by mixing the combos, that is Photoshop Elements 11 with Premiere Elements 12 or Photoshop Elements 12 with Premiere Elements 11.
Bottom line: I would ask you to consider leaving the both versions installed until you decide what programming is in the best interest of your workflows. Key...use one Premiere Elements program at a time.

Serial number photoshop element 12 and premier element 12 revoked

on 9 december 2013, we buy 3 license adobe premier elements 12 and photoshop elements 12 for machintos, and we just installation 1 license.
and for 2 license other, on 26 januari 2014 we try for installation at other computer but the installation failed. we get message "the serial number entered has been revoked".
why like that ?

A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags. I said yes, and the process began. When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working". I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.

This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

Lightroom versus PhotoShop Elements Organizer and Bridge

I hope someone of the Developer team is reading this!!
For my understanding the three products out of one house (PhotoShop Elements Organizer, Bridge and Lightroom) doing about the same, should ...
work the same (same idea, same behaviour, organizing by path/subfolders instead of cataloges etc.)
maintain the same database and files (LR should recognize the collections from BR and Vice Versa, use the same cache files etc.) and should
be compatible to each other (e.g. Tags, Collections etc)
Actually I suggest ADOBE
to eliminate Organizer and integrate the good functions into BRIDGE (e.g. albums, upload to flickr, webpage generation etc)
give BRIDGE as the free of charge picture organizer to PS Elements and to PS CS
change LIGHTROOM into an payable upgrade of BRIDGE with enhanced functionality of the free of charge BRIDGE, (which can work as a stand-alone software as it does today
better integration of PSE, PS CS into Bridge/Lightroom (e.g. Panaorama function opens only PS CS but the version of PSE works much better, so I want to choose in the menu of Bridge/Lightroom)
I am really struggling with the three of them.
Beside that I suggest to get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom with it's import/export and synchronization needs and instead use or at least integrate the idea of BRIDGE to get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders, as this is anyhow how the way pictures are stored already for most of us... I asume. I doubt that anybody just throw all files into one big subdirectory and get the organized into cataloges. But please keep collections as they are helpful to quickly collect some pictures to commonly work on them. by drag & drop. The Catalogues of LR drives me crazy but LR have a lot of nice functions (e.g. Webupload interfaces to flickr and others, nice noice reduction, nice albums and webpage functions, etc.)

Whereas Bridge and Photoshop Elements (and most non-LR users) base their organisation on the file / folder structure, Lightroom uses files / folders simply for storage - the catalog is used for organisation. This 'catalog based approach' provides far more flexibility, both in organisation, and in recording a complete, fully-reversible record of all edits made to each photograph.
To suggest that Adobe "get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom" and "get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders" would remove almost ALL advantages Lightroom has over Bridge & PS Elements combined. To fully appreciate Lightroom, you need to appreciate that files and folders are not the only way to organise photos. Why not watch a few of the Adobe Lightroom Tutorial videos? I loaded over 15,000 photos in PSE and now they are showing up in Premiere where I don't want them and it is really gumming it up. Very Slow and with memory issues. Called Adobe and after the tech researched it he said the two programs are linked and there wasn't anything I could do about that and suggested I not use the Organizer, just go straight to Edit and New Project. Anyone had problems from this lame Adobe programming?

I have a well maintained computer and I saw the same slugishness with the Organizer.
I always use a different catalog in PRE than I do in PSE.
You will need to create a new catalog in the PSE Organizer. Then when you open PRE, from the file menu you can choose to select a differnet catalog. Find the one you just created. PRE will need to restart and when it does you will have a blank organizer, which will get filed as you add media.

I don't get any crash reports, it starts to open then just stops, nothing happens. ive tried getting in through the organiser but that doesn't work either.
I think my laptop is Windows 8 (its a fairly new laptop, does that sound about right?)
it was working Saturday I'm quite new to using it so no real workflow, just playing around with effects. ive only had it about a month

I don't understand how elements organizer and adobe photoshop elements relate - how/where do I save edited photos? I tried to save them on my hard drive and the result was a 65 MB file!!! Not sure what I'm doing wrong :/ - maybe I'm saving the entire folder every time instead of just an individual photo?

There is no standard field for faces. To transfer information you must put it in the standard place that the new program will use. That does not exist for faces. One work around would be to use keywords. You include the available metadata in a photo by checking all if the boxes when you export the photo(s). What the receiving program is determined by the authors of that program. All iPhoto can do is write what it offers to the IPTC & EXIF fields which it will
