"Elements Organizer" automatic tag

When I use the Share to Flickr feature in the Organiser portion of PSE9, it automatically enters the tag "Elements Organizer" in the tags area.  Is there a way to turn this off?  Not that much of a big deal, but it would be nice to not have to delete it all the time.

  • Elements organizer: Geo Tags - why not in the meta-data ?

    Hi again,
Some of my Photos have geotags (i.e. GPS-Information) in the meta data. Elements Organizer finds it - all right.
Now when i put a Geotag to a photo (without GPS-Information in the meta data) with elements organizer it also works, but there is still no Information in the GPS meta data.
    Why is that?
Where is the GPS Information stored, when not in the metadata?
    Thanks to all!

    elenah
I do use the Elements Organizer, but not to great extent.
So, please review the following and then let me know if you have been there and found that already.
If I setup a photo GeoTag in the Elements Organizer 13/13.1, after that I see
    a. The description of the GeoTag itself in Tags/Place Tags
    b. When I select the GeoTagged image in the Elements Organizer browser, the Image Tags information
for that photo is shown at the bottom of the Information/Image Tags column at the right.
    c. The GeoTab information appears as a caption under the zoomed in photo in the Elements Organizer Browser.
If the GeoTab image is saved as in Photoshop Elements 12/13.1 and imported back into the Elements Organizer, the GeoTagging is recognized.
I do not see GeoTab information elsewhere in the Elements Organizer nor in the Photoshop Elements Editor
(File Info or other) at that point.
Please remind me if you have Photoshop Elements 13/13.1 as well as the Premiere Elements 13/13.1. I need to explore
the possibility of adding metadata into the program by pointing to Photoshop Elements Editor/File Menu/File Info. If that is at
all possible, it looks like you are facing creating xmp templates. Have never been there and done that.
In the Elements Organizer itself, I suspect what we do not see is being supplied by the Elements Organizer catalog behind
the scenes. But, please check out the Elements Organizer 13 Help PDF Chapter 6 Adding Metadata to see if there is anything
there that you do not already know.

For the best possible answer and not assumptions and any unlikely scenarios from me, you are probably best served putting this GeoMapping question before the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum people if you do not get some Adobe help on this.

  • Premier Elements & Elements Organizer

Every time I start a project in Premiere Elements 12, Elements Organizer automatically added to the catalog photos or videos used in the project. I do not want it that way. I do not want the pictures or videos used in the project are added to Elements Organizer. How I can do this?

    Pumby
Premiere Elements 12 and earlier all work off the same principle, that is, you import a file into Premiere Elements workspace and a copy of the file is automatically placed in the Elements Organizer.
The Add Media dialog does not contain an Option not to import the file also into Elements Organizer.
Until proven otherwise, it is what it is.
We might want to talk about Watch Folders and media getting into the Elements Organizer. The following is my last involvement with that type of question when the Watch Folders came up in Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1. The principles would be applicable to Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12.

Please check out the above and do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thanks.

  • Automatic people recognition in Elements Organizer

    Hi everyone,
Because I have limited online disk space, I've been using Elements Organizer for quite some time to catalogue all my offline images. What I do is to burn all my images to DVD's and then import these images into Organizer as offline media with the “Generate previews” option. This way I can quickly find out on which DVD a particular image is kept. This way I save on disk space on my computer.
Now I would like to get some advice and comments from you guys on using Organizer this way. I get the impression that the automatic people recognition does not work with offline media. Is this a correct assumption? How do you best optimize use of disk space when you have over 10000 images. My current version of Photoshop Elements is version 12.
Your comments and advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi, cihurst!
Bridge doesn't currently have a way to recognize people, like Photoshop Elements Organizer, but the keywords should certainly be recognized! When you're in Bridge, check out the Keywords Panel (Window > Keywords Panel). It should contain the tags that you set in Organizer.
Let us know if this helps!

  • How can I import photos from iPhoto '09 to Elements Organizer 10 while keeping the tags attached?

I have spent a ridiculously long time tagging photos in my iPhotos but I would now like to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer and preserve all the work I had done.
From Adobe's help website (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elementsorganizer/using/WS73c05ee9864270ea-417df45c129593bfa05 -8000.html) it says I can import the tags along with the photos but does not explain how:
"Elements Organizer 10 supports importing photos, along with their associated captions, tags, and ratings, from iPhoto. You also have the option to import information such as events and albums to maintain the organization of your library"
When I follow the steps outlined on the website my photos are imported but there are no tags attached to them. I am particularly interested in keeping my facial tags but I suppose it would be useful to know how to keep other keyword tags and ratings as well.
There was a previous question put out on the forums similar to this but it was unresolved and the person decided to just leave everything in iPhoto. I really would prefer to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer. I don't like the way iPhoto organizes photos but I had to deal with it for several years before I bought Elements Photoshop with built-in Organizer.
    Please Please help!
    Many thanks

You don't import one library to another.  Just copy the library from the iBook to the Pictures folder on shout new MacBook Pro. If you have another library already on the MBP rename it so you don't overwrite it with the old library.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the newly copied library and let iPhoto convert it to the new version.
Do you have photos in the library on the new MacBook Pro that you want to combine with the older library?

I downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements.  I then launched Photoshop Elements Organizer and imported approx. 28,000 photos (including some videos).  A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags.  I said yes, and the process began.  When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working".  I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.

This issue is with respect to Elements 13.

  • Elements Organizer - How do I sync historical Elements tags between Revel and Elements 12?

I used Elements 11 Organizer to manage my photos including adding tags. I've uploaded to Revel photos before Revel had tagging capabilities photos from Elements 11. Now that Revel can handle tags how can I sync my tagged photos that are currently in Elements Organizer (I upgraded to Elements 12) with the photos that were already loaded into Revel.

    Hi David
Since the introduction of PSE12 the method of synchronization has changed e.g. now via mobile albums. In PSE11 photos were uploaded to the Library level; not albums.
I’m not entirely sure how this affects keywords, but you may need to upload photos again using the new method. But I suggest you check first over on the Revel forum where there are more experienced users.

  • How do I transfer Face tags that I have on iPhoto '09 to Elements Organizer 10?

I have spent a ridiculously long time tagging photos in my iPhotos but I would now like to transfer all my photos to Elements Organizer and preserve all the work I had done.

There is no standard field for faces. To transfer information you must put it in the standard place that the new program will use. That does not exist for faces. One work around would be to use keywords. You include the available metadata in a photo by checking all if the boxes when you export the photo(s). What the receiving program is determined by the authors of that program. All iPhoto can do is write what it offers to the IPTC & EXIF fields which it will

  • Photoshop Elements Organizer 11 crashes due to deadlock in the thread wait chain when creating thumbnails for *.mts (AVCHD) files

    Hi,
the Elements Organizer 11 creates a deadlock in the wait chain when generating thumbnails for more than a handful of MTS (AVCHD) files.
After importing AVCHD files from my Canon video camera, the organizer using default settings always crashes. I was able to narrow down the problem to be caused by thumbnail generating.
After deactivating the automatic generation of thumbnails, the organizer does not crash any more upon launching .
Of course, working without thumbnails is not very practical. The next resort is manual trigger of thumbnail generation by selecting "update thumbnail".
If I manually trigger updating of thumbnails for files one by one, then it works for quite many files before crashing again.
Selecting thumbnail update for multiple files at once has a much higher likelihood to crash.
This does not seem to be related to particular file contents: a file that leads to crashing once may be flawlessly get a thumbnail created at the next attempt.
The Windows event report looks as follows (German language Windows):
Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe, Version: 11.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x505e9f67
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: msvcrt.dll, Version: 7.0.9600.16384, Zeitstempel: 0x52158ff5

Occasionally, a different module is listed as erroneous instead of msvcrt.dll.
    My questions:
    - has anyone experienced the same problem?
    - is this a known issue with Organizer 11?
    - is the issue solved with Organizer 12?
I have Premiere Elements 11, Photoshop Elements 11 installed and not experienced any other issues with these applications.
Playback of said AVCHD (*.mts) files works flawlessly, i.e. I do not have any codec or performance issue on my PC.
Deactivation of anti-virus software has no significant effect. I have excluded video directories from scanning anyways.
Have deactivated face recognition, visual search and smart tagging in the organizer.
Have also disabled hyperthreading in the BIOS.
Using Windows XP compatibility settings for PSE somewhat improved the stability, but did not completely eliminate crashes.
Additionally, it signnificantly slows down thumbnail generation and a progress indication window becomes visible during thumbnail generation, which is barely noticable in native Win 8.1 mode.
Officially, Elements 11 is compatible with Windows 8.1.
There is a knowledgebase article related to Elements 6, which recommends to disable multi-threading and to enforce execution of Organizer on more than one core.
This reduces the problem a little bit, but thumbnailing more than a handful of files still leads to crashing.
By means of the task manager, I analyzed the wait chain of the process PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe:
Every time the fault occurs, it is caused by a deadlock in the wait chain.
    For example:
    PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540
    -- PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 5932
    ---- PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe (PID:6440) Thread: 6540

  • Newbie question about Premiere Elements Organizer

This is a pre-newbie – let’s say “virgin” question. If there is an answer already posted elsewhere, please send me a link.
I’m about to install Premiere Elements 9 to do some clip editing and animation from still images.  This would be my first attempt to edit clip or do some animation from still images, besides using Windows Media Maker with my HS students. However, I have been a pretty serious photographer for 20+ years with 1,000’s of images which I now work on in PS CS5 Extended and Lightroom 3. I use Adobe Bridge and LR library to catalogue and organize my images. I’d like to continue to use AB / LR Library to organize my new clips and projects. From reading Bill’s posts, it seems I can use Adobe Bridge, copy my original file, resize in Photoshop, and save in a new folder to use for a Premiere project. This would seem to be most intuitive way for me to work. I already have keywords, metadata, actions in PS… etc. But I think Bill is using Premiere Pro, while I’ll be installing Premiere Elements, which comes bundled with Elements Organizer. Do I need to install or use Elements Organizer? What are the advantages/disadvantages or EO?  I guess I’m a little worried about installing the programs and having EO automatically acquire images using presets/defaults that I don’t want to use as well as issues with subfolders, etc. I'm running Windows 7.
    Thanks
FYI- this is a great animation project

EO doesn't do much with the files themselves, just maintains links to the sources.
For folders you are best to use the folder view in EO to move them as it doesn't keep track of folder locations when changed in Windows Explorer. From the File options in Bridge I think that is pretty much the same.

I would like to get as much input as possible on the advantages/disadvantages of using EO vs say Adobe Bride from others who use Elements Organizer.
    Any insights would be appreciated.
Can anyone who has used both EO and AB comment on how EO handles missing (hidden) files, syncing issues, computer hanging up or crashing....etc?
I've only messed around a little with Bridge. But to me it seems lightening fast by comparison to EO. The features Albums and Tags in EO seem much the same as Collections and Keywords in Bridge.
EO has Face Recognition abilities - getting more sophisticated in each version. I've not seen this feature in Bridge.
By default EO allows you to open a file in any of:
    Photoshop
    Photoshop Elements
    Premiere Elements
A single used-defined application (I have mine set to ColorPilot).
Bridge only seems to link to Photoshop.
Missing files can be located manually or by allowing EO to search for them.

  • Can't import från iPhoto to Elements Organizer

I want to import my large iPhoto (v9.5.1) archive into my Adobe Elements Organizer (v12.1). I need to get the tags for thousands of photos intact with the transfer.
There is an automatic function for this in Organizer, but when I use it, only a few photos from iCloud actually get imported. It may have something to do with my having set up iPhoto to leave my photos in their original folders and not import the photos themselves into the database.
Is there any way to work around this, to get my photos into Organizer with all their meta-information intact?

    Hi Tonyswiss
This is common with all new camera models; not just Canon. Manufacturers continually improve their processors and the way they perform with the sensor in handling and creating images. It takes time for Adobe to catch up so the update of ACR will always lag.
Dual DIGIC 4 processors are used in the EOS 7D and EOS 1D Mk IV. ACR support is provided in version 5.6

  • Max files in Photoshop Elements Organizer

    Hello,
    I have few questions:
    1/
Following this thread, I am wondering what is the limit of PhotoShop Elements Organizer V8 ?? How many pictures can we insert into ONE catalog ?
    2/
I currently have 6000 pictures that I would like to import into PhotoShop Elements Organizer V8, from Adobe PhotoShop Album V1.
Is this possible ? I tried with the trial version, but I have an error when converting the .psa file from PhotoShop Album V1, asking me to try to consolidate or repair the file in the previous program (but it works well in PhotoShop Album V1).
    Any idea ?
    3/
Is the trial version the same than the paid one ? I mean: if I start using the trial, inserting tags and so on, should I uninstall it when buying the full version or could I just buy a serial number and inserting it to unlock the trial ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Kamayana

    John,
You are just MARVELOUS !!!! That's awesome: your website, the informations listed in it, the work you do here on the forum !!
Wow !!! I will purchase this product just for your support. Can I pay you to obtain a support and pay you the software ? Lol
You replied to all my questions !
For 2/, I read before your FAQ (I thought it was Adobe FAQ, I did not pay attention to the URL), I tried it without success (excepted item 9/ which is not possible for me, since PhotoShop Album does not allow writing metadata to files, but maybe your small program can do it ?) ...
But since I do not give up like that, I done the following, you might add it to your FAQ ?
1/ I used the dichotomy method. I was sure that some files gave problems. So, my 6000 pictures have been separated into 6 albums (1000 each). Then, I run the converting tool on each one. All worked, excepted one. This one, I share into 500 pictures each. I run the tool on each one. One was OK, the other one fail. The one which fails has been separated in 250 pictures each... And so on. Until you see which pictures cause problems... In my case, it was some modified pictures (2 of them).
Then, I eliminate this 2 pictures from my initial 6000 catalog, I do the import again, and... SUCCESS !!
Hope it might help someone else.

  • Lightroom versus PhotoShop Elements Organizer and Bridge

This is directed to the Adobe Developer Team
I hope someone of the Developer team is reading this!!
For my understanding the three products out of one house (PhotoShop Elements Organizer, Bridge and Lightroom) doing about the same, should ...
work the same (same idea, same behaviour, organizing by path/subfolders instead of cataloges etc.)
maintain the same database and files (LR should recognize the collections from BR and Vice Versa, use the same cache files etc.) and should
be compatible to each other (e.g. Tags, Collections etc)
    Actually I suggest ADOBE
to eliminate Organizer and integrate the good functions into BRIDGE (e.g. albums, upload to flickr, webpage generation etc)
give BRIDGE as the free of charge picture organizer to PS Elements and to PS CS
change LIGHTROOM into an payable upgrade of BRIDGE with enhanced functionality of the free of charge BRIDGE, (which can work as a stand-alone software as it does today
better integration of PSE, PS CS into Bridge/Lightroom (e.g. Panaorama function opens only PS CS but the version of PSE works much better, so I want to choose in the menu of Bridge/Lightroom)
I am really struggling with the three of them.
Beside that I suggest to get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom with it's import/export and synchronization needs and instead use or at least integrate the idea of BRIDGE to get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders, as this is anyhow how the way pictures are stored already for most of us... I asume. I doubt that anybody just throw all files into one big subdirectory and get the organized into cataloges. But please keep collections as they are helpful to quickly collect some pictures to commonly work on them. by drag & drop. The Catalogues of LR drives me crazy but LR have a lot of nice functions (e.g. Webupload interfaces to flickr and others, nice noice reduction, nice albums and webpage functions, etc.)
    Thanks
Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year
    Georg
PS: Please all of you comment your experience and opinion on this matter ... I am interested what you think about it.

    Hi George,
Whereas Bridge and Photoshop Elements (and most non-LR users) base their organisation on the file / folder structure, Lightroom uses files / folders simply for storage - the catalog is used for organisation. This 'catalog based approach' provides far more flexibility, both in organisation, and in recording a complete, fully-reversible record of all edits made to each photograph.
    To suggest that Adobe "get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom" and "get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders" would remove almost ALL advantages Lightroom has over Bridge & PS Elements combined. To fully appreciate Lightroom, you need to appreciate that files and folders are not the only way to organise photos. Why not watch a few of the Adobe Lightroom Tutorial videos? This link below takes you to a video explaining about the Catalog;
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/george-jardine-on-lightroom/the-lightroom-catalog/
    However, if you really want Adobe to hear your views, why not raise a Feature request with them, at this link below;
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I'm sure if you call your feature request 'Remove Catalog from Lightroom, and organise by Folders instead', it'll get noticed, as will any forum posts of the same name...
    Cheers,
    Alan

  • Using Elements Organizer with Photoshop CS2

I have grown comfortable with Photoshop Elements integrated organizer and have upgraded to Photoshop CS2 and instead of using the CS2 file manager would like to continue to use the Elements organizer. The problem Im having is when I edit a photo in CS2 and save it, I have to go find the edited file in Elements organizer and add it manually to the organizer, where if I edit in Photoshop elements, the file is automatically added in the organizer for me. Is there something I can do to make this more automatic when I edit in CS2?
    Thanks
    Joe

    Joe,
I have all the current updates for both products, but other than that, I've
    done nothing special.
For regular file types (jpg, psd, etc.) the handshake goes without a hitch.
Raw files act a little quirky. Raw files do get passed from Organizer to
CS2 and they open in camera raw. But, I've found that if you don't press
the "open" button in camera raw, CS2 will give you an error message that
says it couldn't receive the document from "Photoshop Album". Click ok on
that message and you get another that says it could not complete the update
from the Photoshop Album command because of a program error.
If, I press "open" in the camera raw dialog to edit in CS2, all is fine. If
I make changes and save, Organizer pops up a message saying I've returned to
Organizer and gives me an option to add to a version set or keep it
separate. It adds to the version set fine. But, since I only selected save
in CS2, it remains open there. If I make further edits to the open file and
save, I have to manually update the organizer thumbnail. On the other hand,
if I just click close and respond yes to the "save changes" message , I get
two popups -- one labled "edited file from Photoshop" and "new edited file".
If I click "ok" on both, I get two entries in the version set. (I've done
that with a regular file and I only get one popup.)
So, there you have it. Ordinary files work as expected. But, raw is quirky.
Raw files work fine if you continue to open in CS2 from camera raw and only
    save once.

  • Is Photoshop Elements organizer 9 compatible with the most current version?

I have a large photo collection organized with Photoshop Elements 9 organizer.  I am hoping that i can import the album data file (tags, names, folders, etc.) into the newest Photoshop Elements organizer, version 13.
    Thoughts or suggestions?
I would hate to have to re-label thousands of pictures.

    Thank you!
I plan to purchase a new computer shortly and move all image files along with the Adobe album information/data file to the same directory on the new machine.  I was hoping that when i was installing the new software, the old data file would be recognized and it would be upgraded/imported into the new PSE13 album.
I have over 6,000 carefully tagged photographs, and i don't want to re-tag photos.
