Elements Organizer does not install when reinstalling PSE10

I have a problem that I cannot seem to resolve. Previously Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 had been running flawlessly on my computer and was easily opened by clicking the desktop icon which had a "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe" target. After uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Elements 10, when I click on the Desktop icon to start the application, I get a dialog box that says "The item 'Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly". If I right click the Photoshop Elements 10 desktop icon and check properties, the Target says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe". When I open Explorer and navigate to where the target says the application file should be, the "Elements 10 Organizer" directory does not exist. The only directory that does exist is the "Photoshop Elements 10" directory and it contains the 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Yes if I click on that file the Editor opens, however when I try to load the Organizer workspace once the editor is open, it does not load because the entire folder and application is missing. I even tried searching the entire C-Drive to find the Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe file but it was nowhere to be found.
To be specific, I had PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10 installed on my 64-bit Windows 7 Professional w/SP1 computer. I decided to uninstall PSE8 & 9 because I had just purchased PSE12 and wanted to make room for the PSE12 installation. When I tried to first uninstall PSE8, the uninstaller stopped with the warning that PSE8 was installed in the same directory as PSE10. The uninstall then terminated when I clicked on OK. Next tried to uninstall PSE9 and received the same warning and uninstaller termination. The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall PSE10. Faced with the situation that all three products were installed in the same directory and would not uninstall individually, I found it necessary to uninstall all three applications manually according to the directions on the Adobe's knowledgebase.
To uninstall PSE8, PSE9, & PSE10, first thing I did was create a system restore point which is something I always do just in case something goes wrong. Then starting with PSE8, I first printed out the Photoshop Elements Help "Manually remove Photoshop Elements 8 | Windows that I found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82673.html. Subsequently I printed out the directions for each product, PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10, are all on the Adobe website. Next I followed the directions contained in each article except for running the product uninstaller as I mentioned above and removed all three applications then rebooted my machine.
Next I reinstalled PSE10 and tried to open it only to find that it did not fully install especially the Elements Organizer. As mentioned you can open the Editor by going directly to the executable file however you cannot access the Organizer because it did not install and cannot be found anywhere on the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE10 five time now each time using the product Uninstaller plus the "Manually remove PSE10" directions and I still cannot get the Elements Organizer to install.
My question is does Adobe have a utility that can be run after manually installing a specific product that would find registry entries that were not removed after completing the manual removal process? The problem I see is the manual removal process which shows possible registry entries to remove manually is built on the assumption that you were able to run the Uninstaller which is not the case with my problem.
Secondly does anyone have any suggestions on how to install both the PSE10 Organizer and Editor?

I believe I found a solution but I need help in changing some of the parameters to reflect for a United States program install.
If you go to "Elements 10 Organizer is not installed [SOLUTION]" at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4745941 you will note the Poster says it is possible to force the install of Elements Organizer 10 by using the command line:
msiexec /i "E:\Adobe Photoshop Elements 10\ElementsOrganizer\Elements 10 Organizer.msi" TRANSFORMS=1031.mst ELEMENTS_DE_DE=1 ORGANIZER_DE_DE=1 STARTWATCHSERVICE=1 SUPPRESSREBOOT=0 NOT_STANDALONE=1 /l*v "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\OrganizerInstall.log".
I found that the above command line input does in fact start the setup for the PSE10 "Elements Organizer" Installer except it is in a language other than English.
Is there anyone familiar enough with coding and command line prompts to change whatever paramenters are necessary to have the installer run in English.
Hopefully there are some Adobe Staff monitoring this message that can answer the question for me.

  • Elements Organizer will not install correctly

I recently installed the latest AAM per Adobe's suggestion to solve nother problem of "installer failed to initialize".  Now I can run the Elements setup.exe withough the failure.  However, when I try to install Elements (either Photoshop or Premiere), all that installs is the editor part.  The organizer does not install correctly.  In other words, when I open the program and click on organizer, nothing happens.  How do I solve this issue?  Rather than spend a bunch of time on this, can I manage my video files through Lightroom's catalog?
I'd prefer to get the Elements program running properly as my first option.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Brianbhood I would also ask that you please limit yourself to one discussion.  From your previous posts it is no longer clear what version of Elements you are referring too.  In addition there is another thread where you mentioned you were facing difficulties with Photoshop CS6 and Premiere CS6.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 does not install on Win 8.1 64bit

    Hi!
My system: Windows 8.1 64 bit with all patches, 32GB Ram and engough HD space.
    I downloaded PSE 12 32bit and Premiere Elements 12 64bit. Both won't install.
    Problems:
Premiere: Installation fails when shared components should be installed. I spent more than 2hrs trying every tip I found in forums. Same result.
Photoshop: It always tries to deinstall Elements 12 (which is definetely not installed) and fails becaus of "Specified path is empty". It was never fully installed. I cleaned all folders manually, I deleted registry entries according forum advise. I rebooted. I put the installation files onto C:. Before I installed, I deinstalled Elements 9. I also cleaned those files. An no, I did not deinstall my Antivirus. I cannot deactivate it and deinstalling is a very very bad option.
    What I already tried:
    10 reboots
    Deinstall old version
    Clean Temp folder
    Clean Registry
Delete all folders and hopefull all registry "Elements" entries
    Archive OOBE Folder
    Moved installation Files to C:
    Start Installation as Administrator
Monitored if any other Adobe program is running - killed all
Any help is much apreshiated. I am desperate and about to return the products.
    Michael
    Added solution attempts.

Ok, I had many problems with the installation, but after three attempts I've got it working. This might work with a previously failed installation - but there are other guides in the forum to get this position -thanks also to the many threads on the this - which pointed me in the right direction
Previously I'd had issues with Error 1935, (on Shared Technologies), Blue screens due to clbudf.sys from Cyberlink Instant burn which blue screened (thread abort exception) this install as also iTunes. (I haven't installed this now...
    My scenario. Win 7 (clean) -> Win 8 -> Win 8.1
After setting up the setting up the system.
I ensured the following : (although begrudingly) so I could do a system restore if needed.
    -I disabled Anitvirus & Firewall
    -enabled Volume Shadow Copy Service
I then ensured I had downloaded Adobe Application Manager 8.0 (read this may help) - I installed - but I did not run it as I believe it updates to Adobe CC Manager( from previous attempts)
i also downloaded and installed the 32 bit versions of :
    C++2008 redistributable (32 bit)
    C++2008 SP1 redistributable (32 bit)
I installed Premiere Elements (64 bit) - note I had previously installed Sony Vegas 10 Platinum, which downloaded and installed NET 3.5/Net 2.0 adding to windows features, which many have helped - not sure.
I installed Photoshop Elements (32 bit)
I started both apps and updated them to 12.1.
Happy ... finally - hope this helps others - or at least helps adobe improve their installer, diagnose the issue for others.

  • Elements Organizer does not save contacts entered in Contact Book

When I try to save contacts in either Elements Organizer 10 or 11 in the Contact Book, it saves nothing.  After I click the save button and reopen the contact book, anything I entered is gone.
I've tried entering names as I'm preparing to send e-mail, I've tried doing it through Edit>Contact Book..., and even by adding a New Group to the Contact Book before entering new name, none of which work.  Can someone help?

It’s working for me on Windows if I click:
     Edit >> Contact Book
Then click the new contact button, enter details and click OK and OK again.
What OS do you have? What is the default email client?

  • Elements Organizer does not open. Should I just forget it and use Lightroom?

I have Elements 11 and reciently instaled Lightroom 5. Elements Organizer no longer opens. Should I be concerned and just use the ghtroom Library?

Lightroom is more powerful and robust than Organizer. So yes go ahead if you don't need people recognition.
You can set up te PSE editor as your external editing app in LR preferences and then you can right-click on images in the Library and choose Edit in pse.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, HP Printer Assistant does not install when software is installed from CD

HP Officejet Pro 8600 e all in one printer
    Windows 7
I have had Printer Assistant installed and working on my computer for at least a year then there was an update and it no longer works.
I have uninstalled the device and software and reinstalled both from the website and directly from the CD with no success.
The only error I receive is when I first start the install and there is a red 'x' next to windows update .
The install process will complete, the computer will recognize the printer and I am able to print but I have no control of any functions becuase none of the options in printer assistant are enabled.  They are all grayed out.   The most important feature I need is the archival of received faxes.
Another person in my household had the same issue but was able to reinstall from the website and no longer has any issues.
Thanks for any and all help.

    Hi liluno18,
I want to help you with this issue. I am sending you this link from the Microsoft forum on how to fix the red X on windows update. Follow the answer by M Joseph.
Then I suggest you do a complete unistall of software of the OJ 8600 and reinstall of software once you have the windows update working again.
Let me know if you need any assistance, I would be happy to help.

  • Elements Organizer does not die on exit

I've been using Photoshop Elements for more than 10 years now and I use it for 40,000+ photos, videos and PDF.
I'm currently using Elements 11 on 64 bit Windows 7, but the problem has been there for the last few versions. I've had a consistent problem that when I exit the organiser, the process is left running. I can see it listed in the task manager. In order to re-lauch the program, I have to first kill the process.
I've had this problem for a few years and just live with it, but I'm wondering if anybody else has seen it and knows what is going on?

Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish

  • Iphoto not installed when reinstalling Mavericks

    Hi
I recently bought my first Mac, a Macbook Pro.  It was previously owned. It had Mountain Lion installed and I immediately downloaded the upgrade to Mavericks.
That was fine, on both systems iPhoto was present.  I discovered that the previous owner had left some old email etc on the system so also deleted the previous owners User account (which she had just renamed) and created a new Administrator account in my name.
I then discovered that when I was looking for updates from the iTunes store that the system was still requesting the previous owners Apple ID password.
I decided to erase the disc and download a fresh install of Mavericks to start afresh.  This went very smoothly and everything is working fine.
However I've just discovered that iPhoto is no longer installed.  It appears that if I want to download it from the store I now have to purchase it?
As it was originally installed, is there any way I can get it back without having to buy it?
    Thanks
    Norman

The software is not transferable, you would need to have the app store purchase associated with your Apple ID.
An excerpt from the Software License Agreement:

If you sell your Apple-branded hardware to athird party, you must remove the Apple Software from the Apple-branded hardware beforedoing so, and you may restore your system to the version of the Apple operating systemsoftware that originally came with your Apple hardware (the “Original Apple OS”) andpermanently transfer the Original Apple OS together with your Apple hardware, provided that:(i) the transfer must include all of the Original Apple OS, including all its component parts, printed materials and its license; (ii) you do not retain any copies of the Original Apple OS, fullor partial, including copies stored on a computer or other storage device; and (iii) the partyreceiving the Original Apple OS reads and agrees to accept the terms and conditions of theOriginal Apple OS license.

  • Elements Organizer 9 does not install with PS Elements

I have installed Photoshop Elements Version 9 on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Photoshop Elements installs and works good... but the Organizer does not install and of course will not load either. I have uninstalled installed and reinstalled several times... still no luck.
I can tell it is not installed because when I look in the Program Files (x86) under Adobe... the Photoshop Elements 9 folder is there but the Elements Organizer 9 is not there.
How can I get organizer installed?
    Thanks...
    Rod

Follow the below link, remove all the entries for PSE 9 from the machine and then try to install again. This time the organizer should get installed.

  • What can I do when  in Photoshop Elements (version 11) the organizer does not start up??

    !@@

Yes, thanks a lot. I understand now.
I now am able to open the old catalog again!! I tried now several times with the new shortcut.
Thank you very much indeed for ALL YOUR EFFORT and patients with me.
You suggest now I should click on the repair button. When I do so, the catalog will be overwritten, or I can choose not to overwrite and than the catalog will be twice as big. So I decided not to click on the repair button. When I see afterwards that some functions do not work anymore, I allways can use the repair button. As far as I can see now nothing is lost.. )
As far as I understood it is only possible to repair with a backup. Happily I made that allways, but I am afraid to use it, for the reason above.
When I have more time to spare, I will look for all the foto's from the apps of my cellphone and delete them.
Now I can finish my fotowork, what I had started before, and make Photoshop Elements again the main fotoprogram on my desktop.
    Thank you again! Trees

  • Elements 10 Organizer is not installed [SOLUTION]

    Hello,
after spending hours of investigation, here is my solution. I decided to write it down. Maybe it is of help for someone else.
    Symptom:
Suddenly, when I wanted to use PSE10 and clicked the desktop icon, I got the error message that the EXE file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe"
is not there anymore. I have not figured out why it was gone though. Maybe some magic MSI rollback script stuff from another installation.
    I tried a normal deinstallation/installation procedure.
After looking into "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\PSE10Setup.log", I found out that the system thinks that the organizer seems to be installed, but it was not.
The required file were not in place.
So I tried to force the manual installation of organizer MSI package.
    msiexec /i "E:\Adobe Photoshop Elements 10\ElementsOrganizer\Elements 10 Organizer.msi" TRANSFORMS=1031.mst ELEMENTS_DE_DE=1 ORGANIZER_DE_DE=1 STARTWATCHSERVICE=1 SUPPRESSREBOOT=0 NOT_STANDALONE=1 /l*v "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\OrganizerInstall.log"
This worked for me. All the required files are in place now as they should and PSE10 starts as usual again.
    BTW:
The PSE10 Editor always worked without any problems. Only the organizer was gone. Installing PremiereElements10 also did not help, although it is also supposed to install the organizer.
This is my second big issue with the Adobe Elements Software Package. I have never experienced so much trouble with software installation as with this piece of software.
I suggest that the developers should test there software a lot more with respect to installation/reinstallation and uninstallation.
To the support team: please do not write answers like: please reinstall the software or the Windows OS or ... or..... or.....

You need to contact the developer/manufacturer directly to determine if their product is compatible w/Yosemite.  It is not listed on their system requirement website:
    Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks
Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
    Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard*
Note: ArchiCAD 17 is the last version of ArchiCAD to support Mac OS X 10.6
Only case insensitive file-system volumes are supported.
