ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe

It does not seem to interfere with the normal operation of Photoshop Elements, but it is a constant annoyance.

  • How to Respond to Error Message..."Close ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe"

I just installed Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my computer.   After installation I checked for updates.   The first update was for Elements Camera Raw but shortly after it started I received an error messaage which read, "Close ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe".   I closed Elements 11 application and clicked on "Continue" in the remaining window.   The same error message appeared after a few seconds.   There weren't any other open applications so I didn't know how else to close the Auto Analyzer.   Can anyone offer advice?

Go to the organizer preferences>media analysis and turn it off there. If that fails you can do it in task manager (win) or applications>utilities>activity monitor (mac).

If you've got the time, could you put through a bug report to Apple for that one?
If you want to track the bug, the best way to do that is to register (free) as an Apple Developer:

    TomCT60,
Is your MacBook using Mac OS X 10.6.8 as indicated in your post? If so you will not be able to fully integrate with iCloud.
iCloud and Snow Leopard, by Roger Wilmut describes what iCloud options are available for Snow Leopard.
If you are using Lion, go to iCal>Preferences...>Accounts, and delete/re-add your iCloud CalDAV server.

When you launch the program right-click on the PSE desktop icon and choose Run as Administrator. That often seems to help.
I personally have everything turned off in the Organizer (Edit >>Preferences >>Media Analysis) as these background tasks are quite system hungry. If you don’t really need it you could do the same.

  • ElementsAuto Analyzer.exe

Hi - I'm a new user to Photoshop Elements II.  I received notice that some PE files needed to be updated.  I got them started but received an error message stating:
Please close the following applications to continue:
    ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe
My OS is Windows XP.   I have located the file in my directory by cannot close it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  The file installation will not complete with that file being active on my system.  I've right clicked on the file but there were no options to close the file -- delete the file, yes, but none to close the file.
    Many thanks,
    Phyllis

Erica from Apple support:  Your efforts to help on this subject are appreciated.  However, during my wait for your supervisor, just when I stepped away from my desk for a moment you must have picked up your phone again.  When I heard a noise (other than the hold music) I rushed back to my desk only to hear you hang up.  When the phone rang and the ANI said "Apple support" I tried to pick up but you were gone by the time I got the button pressed.
Hopefully you'll see this note and leave a message on how to resolve this issue for me and the others from other similar questions posed on this forum.

  • Are there any fixes for ElementsAutoAnalyzer using GIGS of RAM?

ElementsAutoAnalyzer will run when I run Elements and they remain running even after Elements has closed. It uses 4-5 GIGS of RAM (not MB, GIGABYTES) and causes my whole system to come to a crawl - almost unsuable. Has Adobe come up with a fix? This is ridiculous.
I turned off all the auto analysis functions in the Elements preferences. At first I just turned off the auto-load at startup but it still ran. This is a MAJOR backup.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the launch Task Manager. Go to Process tab and find find elementsautoanalyzer.exe. Select it and click end process.

  • Trying to update Photoshop Elements 11. Can't continue until I close ElementsAutoanalyzer. How do?

The updater will not let me continue until I close ElementsAutoanalyzer.exe. I can't find such a file. As far as I know I am not running such a program. How do I continue?

Auto-Analyzer in Elements Organizer automatically detects and tags the following when analyzing media.
Auto analyzer is run as soon as you import media into Elements Organizer. When there is considerable media to analyze, run auto analyzer during the system’s idle time.
    Face
    Audio
    Blur
    Brightness and contrast
    Motion
    Shake
You can add additional tags manually after auto analysis. However, the Auto Analyzer tags can be removed from media, but you cannot edit/delete them from the smart tags list
In case you do not wish to run it just disable it from
Select Edit > Preferences > Media-Analysis (Windows), or Adobe Elements Organizer 11 > Preferences > Media-Analysis (Mac OS).
Deselect Analyze Media For Smart Tags Automatically.

    Hope it helps.

  • ElementsAutoAnalyzer keeps staring w/o being enabled in preferences

The Elementsautoanalyzer.exe keeps starting every time I start Elements organizer.  I unchecked all the boxes in the Media-analysis... preferences menu.  I don't want it to run in the background because my system freezes when it does.  I also often get a performance warning message from Norton 360 stated that the elementsautoanalyzer has high CPU usage - "100% of at least one cpu"
I turn it off/uncheck it in the system configuration, start up tab, and that works unless I start/open Elements Organizer again and then it starts the elementsautoanalyzer.exe again and it starts every time a reboot the computer from that point on unless I go into the MSCONFIG window again.
The killer too, is there is no way to contact Adobe for help either, at least no easy way that I can find.  So, going to uninstall and just forgot Adobe exists if I can't fix this without spending/wasting too much more time on this.
FYI, PC running windows 7 64-bit, Adobe photoshop elements 12 (and adobe premiere elements 12 - the bundle).  Updated to version 12.1 on 6/25/14.
    I appreciate any solid ideas.
    Thanks,
    David B.

    Hi,
When you say that the ElementsAutoAnalyzer is crashing your system, do you mean it actually causes the system to restart windows?
Have you looked in the Windows Event viewer to see which module is failing?
I have supplied Adobe with three dumps taken when part of elements fails and they are investigating. On my Windows 7 64bit system the failure is only causing one process to stop. I have noticed that the organizer does occasionally fail.
There is another setting in the organizer for people recognition under the View menu - I didn't think that would have any affect but you could make sure it is unchecked.
Do you know where your catalog is stored?
If not, load the organizer, go to the Help menu and select System Info - that should tell you the Catalog Location.
Use Windows Explore to navigate to that catalog location - there you should find a folder called BreezeData.
The file BreezeSession.dat should be in that folder - try renaming it so that it gets recreated the next time you start the organizer.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Splash Screen and not beyond... Closes abruptly? PE8 WinXP SP2

Splash Screen and not beyond... Closes abruptly? PE8 WinXP Professional SP2:
I got a lot of good info from the forum today, I do not have the internet at my house, which has added to this $100+ headache so I'm gonna try some stuff tonight and check back here tommorrow.
    1. I would have tried uninstalling and re-installing but it came up with some serial number message, because I can't register online from my home I don't want to get locked out of the program or something, hey, it could happen knowing all this security crap.
    2. I get the splash screen like others have, but I don't get the actual program: Premiere Elements 8, it runs through all the plugins on the application startup screen and then closes w/o any explanation.
    3. After trying to get things working, "ElementsAutoAnalyzer.exe" is taking up 100+ mb ram in the background. What is this thing?
so far annoyed, but hopeful, still love my other Adobe Apps.
Feel free to address anything, I apreaciate it!! Even links to other articles, hopefully I'll figure it out tonight, I will post success / failure.
    Thanks,
    Robb

I want to add as much info as I can:
*Splash screen shows up, but only the video/image viewer/manager hub or whatever is able to open.
*I can open up the Premiere Elements program to the intro loading screen, once it loads the plugins it closes.
*I've tried every possible combination within the video manager hub thing to access the Video editing (Elements) software, it may show the loading screen then it closes with nothing, (the video manager remains open still).
Installed: Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 from DVD 1, I did not install templates from Disc 2 or whatever.
*"Single Processor Detected" (I think that's what it said)
*I set up Service Pack 2, because it wouldn't let me install until I did this.
    *I have Windows XP Professional
*I have plenty of HardDrive space. Don't think RAM is a problem.
What I'm going to do tonight:
*Install latest Quicktime 7.something, (downloaded on 11-01-09) from Quicktime.com
*Uninstall the unnessesary driver file mentioned in another post. (or disable it by renaming it)
*Hold shift key while opening program to clear cache, I read that somewhere.
*Possibly re-install software, hopefully I could get back in with my Serial.
-I printed out Trouble shooting section from Adobe.com.
Please leave suggestions, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will benefit.
    Robb
