Eliminate Guest Logins

Does anyone know how to eliminate the guest login in Lion? Want no guest logins (including Safari only). Would prefer not showing Guest in the login list.

Try this:
Even when the Guest Account / Access is disabled, the login option / and lock screen, still have a guest login.
This is because in Preferences/ Security & Privacy/General the bottom item is turned on.
Turn on: Disable restarting to Safari when screen is locked

  • Eliminate guest user login on startup

Hello, lately when booting up my MacBook pro is now asking me to choose my login or guest login even though guest login is disabled. It use to only ask for my password on login

I would actually encourage you to keep Find My Mac on. For one, you have a portable computer, and those are most prone to theft. Secondly, the purpose of the guest account is that should you lose your computer, anyone with a kind heart can log in to your computer with the guest account, get on iCloud, and contact you. It's really only in your benefit, and even I have learned to live with that extra balloon on the side.

  • How do I transfer an iphoto library from a guest login to either another login or a thumb drive?

I am letting a friend use my computer as a surrogate for the time being to backup her phone and photos. I had never used the guest login before and didn't realize that all the files would be lost at logout. I haven't logged out yet but I need help trying to get the iphoto library onto a thumb drive. If at all possible I would like to get the backup from itunes as well.
I have already copied all of the photos out of iphoto but that doesn't save the time, date and location of them. I cannot access the folder to move the iphoto library because of it being in the guest login. I have already deleted the photos off of the phone so that is a no go.
I've been trying to search for an answer but haven't had any luck yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Guest Login feature in SRM 7.0

    Hi,
How do we use Guest Login feature in SRM 7.0? Requirements are given below.
    1. Purchaser publishes Public RFx.
    2. In Conpany's web portal, link is given as "Open Tender-Click here" to enable one time bidder to participate in the Open tender.
    3. A new bidder who is not registered as bidder in the organisation would like to participate in the Bidding. He clicks on the above link in the organisation's web portal which will login as "Guest" and direct him to the SRM portal where the Bidder can see public tender Bids.
    4. He opens the Bid and analyse the details. Then he can decide to participate.
    5. Then either ROS can be used or conventionally he can send mail to the organisation requesting to be a Bidder.
I heard some custom developments are done in few projects with custom screens. But can we achieve the same in a standard way. If developments are required, then complexities involved or process involved in the developments.
    Regards,
    Prasanna

    Hi Vineela,
According to my information this BADI still exists.
There was a note that entered this BADI into SRM 6.0
1158310 SOCO: Missing BADI in search (first screen)
In SRM 7 this code is here, you could have a look and set BP in /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_DOM_SOCO_GAF1~SEARCH
to check what is happening, it may be something small.
There is nothing on our database about other customers with similar complaints.
The method you would need for sourcing is
    IF_EX_BBP_WF_LIST~BBP_WF_LIST_SOCO
    Hope this helps,
    Kind Regards,
    Matthew

  • SDDM guest login, transition to KDE Framework

    Hi,
I am preparing the Transition to KDE Frameworks and as a first step I want to install SDDM, as suggested here.
Some time ago I set up an Ubuntu-style guest-account or guest-login with KDM/KDE4 and would like to keep that in SDDM. A home directory is set up on a temporary file system on kdm start (as root before login dialog appears, see below), and cleaned/recreated after each logout.  I copied it from here. Now the question:
Is it possible to do that in SDDM?
There is an entry "Guest-login" on a TODO page of SDDM at github, which is about half a year old. So don't know if that has been implemented or not. Do you know?
Also, there is a Wishlist entry on the SDDM github site, which seems to request just what I need. There it is suggested to use pam_mount and systemd (auto)mount units in a user-session, but I'm not sure if that would help in my problem?
Currently I'm calling a script "guest-account" (see below) in /usr/share/config/kdm/Xsetup. Xsetup is looks like:
    #! /bin/sh
    # Xsetup - run as root before the login dialog appears
    /root/scripts/guest-account add
    And  /usr/share/config/kdm/Xreset looks like:
    #! /bin/sh
    # Xreset - run as root after session exits
    if [ $USER = 'guest' ];
    then
    /root/scripts/guest-account remove guest
    /root/scripts/guest-account add
    fi
The script guest-account (found it here) looks like:
    #!/bin/sh -e

Release 12 enforces multi-org. We have the profile options 'MO: Operating Unit' and 'MO: Default Operating Unit' set to our one and only org_id. Is there also a default responsibility that needs to be set to allow GUEST access to an OAF page in R12?
    Thanks,

Which I believe is the same reason.
Can you pls suggest what could be the problem and how can we over come this.

In the Connection Editor, under "Relational Data-> Settings" did you check the "Personal Configuration" box?
If you did, you should ensure the Authentication type is not set to "None".

  • How do I disable the GUEST login option at start up screen

how do I disable the GUEST login option at start up screen.
    I have already gone to
System Pref'>Users and Groups>Unlocked it with password>Guest User is OFF>Allow guests to log into this computer is NOT CHECKED,
however I still have that GUEST USER selection on the login screen.

    Hello Leopardus,
having read other post concerning this issue
Re: Removing Guest User icon from login page
dated all the way back to 2012, I have decide to leave well enough along and not let the GUEST button bother me.
I rarely if ever take my Mac out of the house so I have not given much thought to theft or loss, but, in the event of it leaving my house by another way, the slim possibility of recovering it is worth the annoyance, I'll get over it.
    Thank you all.

  • Dock is drastically different and no guest login option after power loss

Folks, forgive if this is addressed elsewhere.  I am fairly new here.
I am running a MacBook with 10.5.8.  I have been having some battery/power issues lately which I thought was resolved with a new battery.  Today, my machine shut down while plugged in and a purported "79% battery" left.  It has done this perhaps 2 other times in the last year or so.
When I got the machine to completely boot, there was no longer a "guest login" option which I remember setting months ago.  Also, my dock had large icons, many icons for programs I run everyday were missing.  All of my applications, files, etc. seem to be intact.  It is as though the machine has re-set to default settings.  Why did this happen?  Can I go back to my old settings somehow?
    Thank you!
    Dani

There is no prevention or network proceedure that would prevent that matter. The correct way to fix that problem after a storm will be to disconnect everything, power units down for 15 to 20sec.(router & modem), power units back up, once units come back up to normal fuction connect the modem back to router, then connect pc to router and reboot. That should establish your connection back after power outage.

  • File data source not found with guest login???

    Hello everybody,
    i'm working with BIP 10.1.3.2.1 on Win2003/Tomcat.
Everytime if i call a report with a file data source directly via url or in the gui via guest login i get the following error message: "File data source not found: <file data source name>".
If i use a login in the gui which have the explizit permision to use this data source then there is no problem. Well at this point u might say then use this account, but - if i call a similar report with a database data source directly via url or guest login in the gui everything works fine. So, where is the point? Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Ralf Kanis

    Hi guys,
I'm running into exactly the same issue. The problem seems to occur only when the report being accessed by guest is a file data source. The only other option I could think of is setting up SSO for BIP and the application issuing the URL to the report.
Could'nt find anything else in the documentation or known issues list that might fix this without having to setup Single Sign On. Any further luck with your investigation? I'd appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks

  • E2000 Manual Setup -- Works, but where is reference to Guest login??

I manually set up my E2000 (with latest firmware 1.0.02 build4) and it works on my system... 5Ghz band, WPA2 Personal, with custom shared key.
I'm actually getting faster speeds than the 54G V1 that it replaces......
But I hear there is a guest login..... and I want to change the default password for guest login... and manually I cannot see any references to Guest login or their settings....
Did I miss something?  Why can't I find it in the setups?
Not using Software Setups, using the old fashioned manual setups.... So that I know the paticulars of my setups...
    Thanks for your direction....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've been in chat twice now...
Aparantly if you manually set up a E2000, and I'm guessing you change the default IP, then the Cisco Connect software doesn't know how to find the E2000 router....  I'm typing through the E2000 right now, and it works for Internet and such, but the Cisco Connect Software can't find the router......
From what I have seen of the Cisco Connect software....  It is aimed toward the "Just out of the Box" user.... and aparantly once setup manually, Cisco Connect can't find the router!!
I prefer the HTTP access anyway....  BUT, you can't change the Guest settings that way!!!   WHY???
So, at present, I can't access Guest Settings via HTTP, and the Cisco Connect Software Can't find the router, probably because I already set it up via HTTP.......
Why didn't Cisco Connect just ask me what the IP of the router was!!!   I don't want to re-invent the wheel, I've already got it going fine!!!   I just need to access a setting that I can't from HTTP, because some middle management bozo decided to lock it out of HTTP!!!!
    Now Isn't that a Feature!!!

  • Unable to delete customized guest login

Some time ago I enabled a guest login on my MacOSX 10.6 and then customized it using Server Admin Tool. Now I'd like to delete this account but it's not appearing on Server Admin Tool and System Preferences only allows me to enable/disable it.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

There is one Guest account that you cannot get rid of.
This is part of Leopard and must be there.
As a matter of fact, if you want to allow any Guest to connect, you must have a box checked in this particular Guest account.
"Allow guests to connect to shared folders" must be checked.
I believe this is also the default from what I have seen on all machines.

  • Default Subportal and Guest Login

We need to restrict the Guest login to not access anything in our Portal. This is a business requirement.
We are thinking of applying a no-navigation scheme to the Default portal to accomplish this requirement.
This approach would lock down the Plumtree "Administrator" user as well. We would still have a Administrator's group assigned to a different Subportal.
Is this the correct approach to take? If not, what is the recommended method?

Thanks for everyone's insight into this. I have disabled the guest access(in j_config.xml since we are using the Java version of Portal.) and it works well.
I have a question for Michael. I was able to find the Administrator PT user, however it exist in the \Admin Objects Directory\Default Subportal folder. However I can view it. So, if I can't view it how do I move it to another folder? I apologize if it is a newbie question.
We do plan to apply a custom null-nav to the default subportal and it would be great if we can move the administrator to another folder with a different subportal. Do the guest and administrator belong to the same subportal/folder. Can we move the guest to another subportal with the custom null nav and keep the administrator as is?

  • Disable Guest Login/User

Does anyone know how to disable the Guest Login feature on the Accounts set-up in Snow Leopard so that it will not show up, nor will it allow a guest to login to the computer?

    HI Robert,
Unless you have shared your admin password with someone, then no one can access the System Preferences/Accounts to make any changes let alone create a guest account.

  • Cisco ISE Guest Login without provisioning

    Hi,
I have setup the ise based on  https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26442  whereby I have an authorization rule for CWA and an authorization rule for guestflow with provisioning. All is working great, however I was wondering if it may be possible to setup the ise with the following scenarios with dual ssid:
    1. user login to guest ssid and redirects to guest web portal and input guest credential created by sponsor (this is working well)
    2. user login to guest ssid and redirects to guest web portal and input credential from AD goes to provisioning (this is working well)
    3. user login to guest ssid and redirects to guest web portal and input credential from specified AD group and get internet/network access without provisioning.
For point 3, I was wondering if it may be possible and if so on how it may be accomplished? I have attached the present Authz rule for reference as well as the rule I have tried which does not seems to be working.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks.

No it doesn't, you can test the same , while editing the wireless SSID profile, opting authentication method as smart card other than PEAP/EAP.
