Eliminating Download tab in gallery view window

Is there a way to prevent people from downloading photos? I am building a site for my photography business and I didn't choose sharing option. I found no way to download the photos until I saw the download button in the secondary navigation bar when you are viewing the pictures in larger format. The secondary bar shows: Back to Album Play Slideshow Download
Can I get rid of the option to download?

Although you can turn off the subscription feature of the photo/slideshow page and prevent people from downloading the files from the site, they will still be able to take screenshots of them and get them that way.
Many photographers will watermark their photos in a number of ways. My example was done with Photoshop. However, there are several watermark applications that can add text and or an image to photos in the location of your choice. iWatermark is one of them. You can find several candidates by searching for watermark at VersionTracker.com.

I Cannot View Pictures in Windows Photo Gallery Viewer

When I open Windows Photo Gallery, all my pictures will be shown in the gallery but as soon as i click on a picture to actually view it, a message pops up saying that an error is preventing the Windows Photo Gallery Viewer from starting. If I click on a
video, however, the video will play; its just the pictures that i cannot view. Do anyone know how to fix this problem or what may have happened to cause this problem? Please Help!

Console Window appeared as tab in Viewer window ?

Hi Guys,
I miss typed a keyboard shortcut and suddenly a new tab appeared in the viewer window called console. I cannot find any reference to AE CC having a console window nor what I may have typed to activate it.
Anyone got any ideas about this and what can I do with it ....?

BO XI R2 - "Blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window - attempt to print report

My company recently set up a Business Object Enterprise XI Release 2 server. On the server are a number of crystal reports that are run interactively by users, through the user console. The expectation is that the user will log on to the BI server, click on the report title, enter the parameters, see a preview of the report in the Crystal Report Viewer, then click the print icon on the Crystal Report Viewer toolbar.
Our corporate standard is current Windows XP SP3, with Internet Explorer 8; By default, users are set up to use the DHTML report viewer. The reports were developed with the Crystal Reports XI R2 report designer, and connect to an Oracle 10g database through Oracle client.
When users attempt to view, then print the reports, the user is able to select the report, enter the parameters, view the report data, and even page through the report preview with no issues. However, when the user attempts to print the report by clicking the print icon on the Crystal Reports Viewer toolbar, a blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window pops up and remains indefinitely.
The really puzzling thing about this issue is that for about 1/3 of our users, printing will work - a print dialog will appear, allowing the user to select a printer, and when the user clicks OK, the report will print. For the other 2/3 of our users, the blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window pops up.
I have added the BO XI R2 server's address to trusted sites, adopted the lowest security settings for trusted sites, and enabled all activity I could think of in IE security settings (ActiveX controls-related). I also ran the web site in compatibilitiy mode.
Has anyone on this forum experienced this issue, and does anyone here know how to resolve it?

I suspect that this behavior occurs because the client computer is unable to download ActiveX controls.
The report viewer requires the PrintControl.dll to print reports from the client computer. The PrintControl.dll downloads automatically if it has not been previously downloaded on to the client computer, provided that the user that is currently logged on is able to download ActiveX controls.
To enable the download of ActiveX controls on the client computer, perform the following steps:
1) Open your Internet Explorer.
2) From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
3) In the Security tab, select the web content zone that corresponds to your web application.
4) Click Custom Level.
5) In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll down to find the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section.
6) Select Enable or Prompt for the Download signed ActiveX controls item.
7) The print dialog box will now appear successfully when clicking the print button in the report viewer.
If the above does not help, try to troubleshoot this as follows:
1) click the print button (this will cause a postback to the web page) and then cancel the print dialog. right-click in the web page and select "View Source".
2) Search for the word "printcontrol.cab". This will show you where the application is trying to download the printcontrol from.
Paste the URL into a browser.
3) If you get prompted to "open or save to disk" the url is correct and there is a browser setting or possibly even a system policy preventing the download.
4) If you get a "404 page not found" or a similar error message, investigate the URL.
5) If the issue is on your local web server, see if it is possible to browse to the URL in IIS manager.

File Download Pop up when viewing flash site

I created a website with flash and everytime I look at it on
my computer is views ok. When I look at it on another computer it
goes to the website but when I try to click on the lnk to go to the
next page, I get a pop up message thats prompts me to open or
download. Wehn I click to open it say website not found...

As you probably guess I dont use IE.
When I searched for it on my computer, it did not come up, so I went to the MS download center and downloaded the Internet explorer for Windows 7 x64. Ran the installer but before it could finish, it gave my this error:

I have run Windows Update to the latest updates,
I meet the specifications for IE11
I am not running an incompattable video card
All updates are complete
I am running a x64 computer and have the x64 installer
I do not have any previous versions of IE on the computer
It looks as though the computer did not come with IE or it has been uninstalled at some point by a user. The installer is not giving any clues to what made it stop , so I am afraid that I can give you no more inforamtion about that.
The only other thing is the point about the .dll file problems. I think that there may be a serious problem with the computer regarding the .dll files as many of them seem to be broken/ corrupt... I can see no solution to that apart from maybe copy-pasting the broken ones over from my other computer that is working, might that work?

Mac OS X 10.5: Mail shows no viewer window, can't be quit

Recently installed OS X 10.5.6 on my MacBook because my iPhone crashed - the genius bar wiped my iphone and installed software that was no longer compatible with Tiger. So I had to upgrade my MacBook.
Since upgrading, Mail on my MacBook won't work. No viewer window - all my smart folders are gone except for two and it can't be quit. Support says upgrading is my only option: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2537 --- is this true? I can't afford another upgrade which would also require me purchasing more RAM.
Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you thank you!

The update is free. In fact you should just download the 10.5.8 Combo Updater, also free. Upgrading to Snow Leopard is not free. It costs $29.00.
Before applying any system software upgrades be sure you do the following:
A. Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4.Check the box labeled Erase destination.
5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive.
Source means the internal startup drive.
B. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Mail not displaying Message Viewer window

Hi,
Just installed Lion on a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac. After installing Lion, Mail refuses to display the message viewer window. I can open 'file > new message' and 'file > new note' windows but when selecting 'new viewer window' nothing happens, the same if I select 'Mail > Preferences'. Mail seems to be connecting and downloading messages okay but I can't view them!
Any help appreciated!

Its iMail Version 6.3 (1503) which comes with a fresh install of 10.8.3.
Any email base64 encoded is corrupted or not shown.
eg Any message from and Exchange Client that has both plain text and html in the same message where the plain text section is Base64 encoded.

The work arround it to switch to the classic view, open the message there, then switch back to the modern view and the text of the message magically appears. Its probably something to do with the way in which the new iMail processes message bodies, that the older style viewer had fixed. (You can switch between classic view and modern view under the Vieweing preferences tab)
It also seems to impact sent messages or anything thats been base64 encoded.
Hopefully its such a major bug it will be fixed soon. (lol, like some of the bugs in iMail on 10.6.8 were fixed ?)

I have downloaded FF5 - BUT, the browser window doesnt look like FF5....?

I have downloaded FF5 - however, the browser doesnt look like version 5 - it still looks like the previous version browser window. For example, I dont have the new style orange button on the top left. Under "Help" it states version 5 - it just doesnt look like it.
I have downloaded version 5 on my home machine, so I know what to expect.
Can anyone advise me?

That is because you are on Windows XP your settings weren't messed up by default. In the future you will have to use "Alt" to see the menus, or use the "Firefox: button which puts the menu in two columns.

My downloads tab is not updating, I have to manually retrieve downloads from download folder, help please?

For example, whenever we download pictures and torrents, the download tab will update, so whenever we want to view or use the torrent, we go directly to the download tab.
However, after 23rd June, for no reason, all new downloads do not show up on the download tab. I have to manually open the download folder to search for the files or torrents. May I know the reason why this happen or any way I can reverse this?

How can I capture and take screenshots of all the browser tabs and not only windows ?

This class identifies all minimized windows and take a snapshot (screenshot) of them. I want to take screenshots also of all the broswer for example chrome tabs windows that are open but not in the front. Same idea that it get now the minimized windows but
to get the screenshots of the broswer opened tabs ! What should I change in the WindowSnap class? Since both classes are a bit long I added them to pastebin.com
What i'm doing now is to get all the minimized windows i mean all the the windows in the back if it's chrome browser windows or open tabs if it's program games other windows. This is what i'm doing in form1 constructor:

The problem is in form1 constructor i'm getting only 23-24 windows in the listBox1. When i'm doing this two lines:

For exmaple i have only 4 opened chrome windows. But in one of the chrome windows i have almost 40 tabs opened !

My question is if there is any way to capture also all the chrome opened tabs in all the windows if any opened tabs are opened at all ? Now i'm getting only the chrome opened windows captured screenshot. But i want to get also the chrome tabs captured screenshots.

I have a number of tabs opened in a window and i have grouped them.Is there any add-on or extension so that i can hide it or secure it or lock that tab group ?

My laptop is being shared by others...so when others open the firefox page they can see all the tabs opened in a window or a tabgroup.i want o hide the tabgroup or secure tha tabs in a window by creating a passoword so that the others dont get the chance to view the tabs that i was browsing and so they have to open a new window and thus all the information in my tabs is safe and still are open even if they close their new window after their browsing.

hello, when you're using a shared computer a better option would be to create separate (password-protected) windows accounts for each user - then each one would have her/his own firefox profile...

The default Firefox Options window doesn't have a separate tab for Downloads, those prefs are on the General tab below Startup.

Cannot preview filetype please download the file for viewing and garbled text on a downloaded image

Dear Madam or Sir,
When I click on a file titled "Subject Access Request Letter re Account Number 12527629 Sort Code 60-10-34 24022015.pdf", which is stored in my Account on Acrobat.com I get the response "Cannot preview filetype please download the file for viewing". This file was created from an OpenOffice .odt document of the same title. Please advise.
I downloaded an image, which purports to be a .pdf, from the Royal Mail Track & Trace web facility using my Samsung S5. The text that I expect to see might as well be hieroglyphics for all its similarity to text. Please advise.

I have found the solution to be:
   1. Not to upload to "Document Cloud" from the .pdf stored on my PC and
   open on screen.
   2. To login to Acrobat.com from the .pdf stored on my PC and open on
   screen, select "Document Cloud" and the sub-folder required and then upload
   the file
I have a feeling that there is a glitch somewhere, because after I have
opened a number of .pdf files stored on my PC, and irrespective of whether
I have closed them prior to opening the next .pdf file or left them open,
Acrobat Reader will display (Not responding) in the window title bar. The
"number of files" equates to less than 10. I, then, click on the X at the
right of the window title bar and I am given the option of "Close the
program" or "Wait until the program responds" (or words to that effect). If
i choose the latter, nothing happens and I am back at the unhappy status
quo. If I choose the former, I am told that Windows is searching for a
solution, which it never finds. I, then, have to shut down the PC and then
start it up, again. Clicking "Restart" does not solve the problem.
I have described the above before and received the usual "it cannot be
Acrobat, it is perfect" response. I could, I suppose, screenshot/snip every
sequential screen but why should I have to when I have described the
sequence as fully as I can. So I have found a "workaround" that does not
solve the "Not responding" problem but does solve the problem of not being
able to upload from the open .pdf file to the sub-folder in "Document
Cloud". I am, on occasion, working through the myriad of .pdf files that
are in the root folder of "Document Cloud" and putting them in the correct
sub-folder(s).
I have today read that Google is starting a cellphone service in the USA in
which a monthly "access" rental (US$20) is paid plus a GB capacity usage is
elected for at a rate specified, e.g. US$10.00/GB. If the subscriber does
not use the elected GB capacity Google refunds the US$value of the unused
elected GB capacity.
Suggestion: Adobe applies that kind of policy to its online software
package usage rates, e.g. I elect to subscribe to a particular level of
online software package usage monthly, but, if I do not use all of the
programs included in that online software usage package, I am credited back
for not having used the softwares, that I did not use, that were inclusive
in that online software package offer.

Multiple browser or viewer windows

I am editing a project in the timeline with A-b roll. When viewing the track and reduce the opacity on one track at a certain point, I no longer can see the other track unless I restore the opacity. What I am getting at is that the time it takes to go back to look for the other track is lengthy. Elongated by the rendering time. Question: Is there a way to always view both tracks, in other words is it possible to assign V1 to one browser and V2 to another.? Is there such a thing in FCE HD?
I have one external monitor that I use.

While FCP has a multi-cam editing feature, FCE doesn't. Probably the simplest method of editing multiple cameras/tracks in FCE is to place them in their own track in the Timeline and sync them. It works better to place the video that you'll being keeping most of on the bottom track. Once that is done, double-click the highest track to load it into the Viewer window. Click on the Motion tab and set the scale to about 50% and use the Center contrrol to position it in one corner. This gives the classic "Picture-in-Picture effect, but you'll just use this during the edit.
As you go through the Timeline, cut and delete the parts of that clip that you don't want to keep. When you're done, select (highlight) all clips on that track, right-click on one and choose "Remove Attributes" from the contextual menu. Then click on "Basic Motion." All clips should return to 100% size and be centered. While all clips are still selected, you can Shift+drag them to the track below, making it easier to add transitions if needed.

Opening more than 1 ECL Viewer window from EasyDMS

I have found that I can open more than one EasyDMS window as long as I am in 2 different directories, much like normal Windows operates. But when I double click on an image, in the first EasyDMS window, the image will open the image but I am unable to open an ECL Viewer window if I double click on an image from the second EasyDMS window. The request seems to hang until I close the ecl viewer from the first EasyDMS window.
Is this a limitation of EasyDMS / ECL Viewer or do I have something not configured correctly?
I am using the Z_EASYDMS_ECL_OPEN_DOCUMENT function module.

We have seen reports about a Community Toolbar extension causing this issue with not being able to open a new tab.
So if you have such a toolbar then start with disabling it.
