Eliminating tab or indent in description

When I go to write a description in a photo, it sets an inordinately large indent or tab for the first line.  How do I eliminate this tab?  I would like my text to all start at the left margin.

iPhoto 11.  It allows you to enter a description of each picture.  Pushing the control key allows changing the text.  But there is nothing on centering, right, left margin, tab, etc.  I think I may have corrected it by simply pushing delete which moved the curser to the left and seems to have reset it.  Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

  • Indenting dimension description

    Hi gurus,
    I would like to automatically indent dimension description in reports (without using REPT formula).
    In proprierty EVDESCRIPTION of the dimension I inserted the descriptions with spaces before. When I access the member sheet it shows indented descriptions but when I build a report the EVDES function automatically delete the spaces.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks

    HI Pkrishnas,
    may be I was unclear. I'm saving descriptions in BPC Admin (Member sheet) with leading spaces.
    One member colud be, for example:
    ID           : "C001"
    EVDESCRIPTION: "   Company01"
    So I supposed to see the same thing on BPC Excel, I mean with leading spaces.
    But unfortunately it seems to behave differently: in fact in BW InfoObject I don't see the leading spaces I typed in BPC Admin. In Long Description i get:
    KEYID: "C001"
    TXTLG: "Company01"
    As if while saving (or processing Dim) leading spaces where deleted.
    Is it normal or a malfunctioning?
    Is it possibile to avoid this behaviour?

  • Can the editor use spaces instead of tabs for indentation?

    I need to have spaces inserted into my code for indentation instead of tabs. "Use tab character" is unchecked under tools|preferences|code editor|code style|edit but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    But would this cause a tab to be translated as one space or would it still be a tab character? I think it will still be a tab character, which is a problem. I know MS Dev Studio can be set to translate tabs to spaces on the fly so if you hit a tab the cursor jumps 4 spaces and those spaces are spaces, not a tab. Thanks for the reply.

  • 2 level tabs and indentation

    Hi all
    Here is the application
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=19672:1:4096297706318740::NO:::
    I am using 2 level tabs and on the left side of Tab1...I want some indentation
    You can see in the example.. Page1 has one child PageX and Page2 has one child PageY. On left side, For PageX indentation ... I put ' ' in the Tab label of PageX but I dont want to see the extended line in the display as you can see.
    For PageY I put 'li' in the tab label of pageY. Circle is good but I want some indentation too.
    Could any one suggest some thing else.
    Thanks

    Chris,
    I too have been challenged on this. My habit is to create the page first, test and then once satisfied with the results, associate the page with a tab. Hope this helps.

  • Unable to see the "Password Reset" tab in Indentity Store (SAP IDM 7.1)

    I am trying to implement Password self-service as per the document "SAP NewWeaver Idenitty Management Identity Center Self-service password reset Implementation Guide" Version 7.1 Rev 2. In this guide, references are made to the Password Reset Tab in the Identity Store properties view in Identity Center. I do not see that tab in my view.
    I followed the standard inst guides during the upgrade. Its a fresh implementation and we are on IDM 7.1 SP5
    I have checked out couple of similar posts where it was resolved by installing SP3/4, does anyone have any other solution than applying the SP again ??
    What do I need to do to have that tab?
    Thanks

    Matt,
    Ours is a fresh installation
    According to the PSS 7.1 V2 guide, i completed the section 1 where i creted the UME roles and the
    Section 1: Creating the tasks
    Creating the folder for the tasks
    Creating the password reset task
    Creating the password reset failed task
    Then started the Section 2 Configuring the identity store and the first point the document says is "Select the identity store in the console tree and choose the "Password reset" tab: " which i am unable to see the tab in my system.

  • Not able to use the Tab key to Tab indent when within a text edit window...

    Two questions please... First one is above for the tab function. In Safari I just need to press control+option+tab to indent a tab within a text edit box on a website. This function is being used more via cloud and mobile capability.
    Second... I can, in Safari, Copy and paste a site with tables. Works great in Safari. When I try to do this in FF I lose the formatting of the tables and it just give plain text without the tabled fields.
    I would love to use FF because the compatibility if much greater than Safari, but... I need my functionality as well to do my work to the best and quickest ability.
    Thank you

    Help About says I'm on 20.0.1
    Up until last week, I was able to use the tab key when typing emails and other multi-line text boxes.
    Suddenly the behavior of the tab key changed. This isn't the first time. It's been quite a while ago that the function of the tab key changed from indenting to moving around the page, then after some time it changed back to indenting.
    Can we get this fixed and leave it alone, please?
    I may give one of those add-ins a try, but my problem with add-ins is that they break when FF is patched or upgraded, then I'm left with out the solution they provide.
    Can we just fix Firefox, please?
    Thanks,
    Frank
    P.S. Another potential fix I came across suggested starting FF in safe mode to see if the problem goes away. It does not. It seems to be a change to FF that appeared after an update last week. On or just befor 24 Apr.

  • Tab key to indent

    Is it possible to make the Tab key indent in a text box, instead of moving to the next item.
    I was thinking it would be possible using a customer format script or a custome keystroke script.
    Thanks for any help.

    No, it's not possible. The tab key is reserved for moving from field to
    field.

  • Questions about tabs, spaces and indenting

    I tried to find some information about this in the forum, but I didn't succeed (perhaps I failed at the search). My apologies if this a trivial topic, but as I'm in the learning process of programming (I started with Python and php myself, and Pascal at college) this is a new world to me.
    Yesterday I was editing a txt file in Vim, and I encounter a few issues trying to print it. That's when I learned that tabbing all the way thought to format some text maybe is not a good idea. Then a guy in #Vim directed me to use spaces instead of tabs for indenting and formating the text / programs that I write, as the tab indenting is -almost- only needed by makefiles. Also he showed me than in Python programming it is suggested to use spaces as well.
    I googled a bit and I found sites like this, with pros and cons about both styles. Also I found a Vim plugin (Smart Tabs) that at first sight seems quite nice, like it have the best of both worlds.
    So my question here is: what should I do? Choose one style and stick with it for ever? Choose according the language? Mix up both? Without any experience on this subject it's hard to know the right way, as it seems that both styles have (strong) advantages and disadvantages.
    Also, if is not too much no ask, what tab size should I work with? 8 seems a bit large, although seems to be pretty standard for some languages.
    Currently I've this on my .vimrc (the relevant part, of course):
    set tabstop=4
    set shiftwidth=4
    set softtabstop=4
    set expandtab
    set autoindent
    set smartindent
    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Yes, I think to "choose one style and stick with it" is the most important thing.
    I always use two spaces to indent because I like the way it looks. Besides makefiles, I don't use any language that forces me to use either tabs or spaces, so that's not a problem.
    I really like this quote:
    Linus Torvalds wrote:If you need more than 3 levels of indentation, you're screwed anyway, and should fix your program.
    (from Wikiquote) After reading that, I don't think about indentation as much anymore.

  • Change name of the TAB

    Hi Gurus,
    I am working in CRM 4.0 Channel Management.
    I want to change only the name of the TAB, e.g. in the application Opportunity CRMD_ BUS2000111 the TAB name Attachments - field Group OPP_DOCUMENTS and event OPP_HD_DOCUMENTS. We only want to change the name for all opportunies and need not more than one events with different Tab names.
    Can I change the TAB name in a simple way without enhancements without to touch the MAC?
    Not clear yet if it needs to be defined in run time or not - but for eventualities it is better to have the changes in run time.
    Regards, Anja

    You can change the Tab name without doing any thing in MAC
    <br>
    Tab is based on EVENT, So change the description of the event behind the tab to change the description.

  • Tabs in a list

    I frequently use lists within documents, e.g. writing an exam using a format like the following:
    1. --- question ---
    multiple lines used for long questions
    . a. choice 1
    . b. choice 2
    etc.
    I use shift-enter to go to an additional line within the same list item. But here's a problem I run into. Often, when typing context for one item, I press tab because I need a tab, but when in lists, the tab key indents to a sublevel. Is there a shortcut key for placing a real tab within text of a list (I've tried shift-tab, alt-tab, ctrl-tab)?

    Thanks. That's the same as the alt-tab I referred to (at least on my keyboard). I was sure I had tried this but was unsuccessful. Having just tried it again, it did work. Now if I could only remember it!

  • Tab pages - Navigation Problem

    Hi,
    What key I should use, if I want to navigate to other blocks in the same tab page.
    Thanks
    KC
    null

    I had this same problem. I created a TAR on Metalink about it and Oracle's response to me was to see Note#1016812.4 "KEY-NXTBLK AND KEY-PRVBLK DO NOT FIRE ON TAB PAGE".
    Basically, those triggers perform differently for tab pages.
    Solution Description:
    =====================
    The KEY-NXTBLK and KEY-PRVBLK triggers are re-defined to mean "Next Tab Page" and "Previous Tab Page" when on a tab page.
    However, you can put calls GO_ITEM or GO_BLOCK into a WHEN-TAB-PAGE-CHANGED
    trigger instead of the KEY-NXTBLK and KEY-PRVBLK triggers. This way, when
    Forms thinks you want to change tab pages, you can change blocks.
    Solution Explanation:
    =====================
    The KEY-NXTBLK and KEY-PRVBLK triggers were redefined to be consistent
    with the Microsoft standard for tab sheets.

  • TAB character

    Hello Gurus.
    I am working with Oracle Reports 6i and I simply try to print a TAB char at the beginning of my paragraphs. Adding the chr(9) when needed does not work, it is replaced by a space. And space don't work for me as my text is justified.
    Is there really no way to have a tab character (indentation) with report?
    For example, how can I do this:
    (TAB here) Dear Mister Scott,
    (TAB here) I would like to indent the first line of my paragraph with Oracle Reports 6i. As the TAB character (chr(9)) does not work with Reports, how could I simply do this? My text is justified and each paragraph is linked to a field.
    Thanks in advance!
    Guille

    I tried it in Report Builder 6.0.8.23.0.
    DataModel
    1. Query
    select '*'||CHR(9)||'Dear Mister Scott,'||'*' My_Tab from dual;
    2. Formula Column --> CF_TAB01
    function CF_Tab01 return VARCHAR is
    begin
    RETURN('*'||CHR(9)||CHR(9)||CHR(9)||'Dear Mister Martin,'||CHR(9)||'*');
    end;
    3. Formula Column --> CF_TAB02
    function CF_Tab02 return Char is
    v_tab CONSTANT VARCHAR2(10):= CHR(9);
    v_string VARCHAR2(80):= '*'||v_tab||v_tab||'Dear Mrs. Willson,'||'*';
    begin
    srw.message(1.00,'v_string: '||v_string);
    RETURN(v_string);
    end;
    It works fine!
    But I could be a problem with the current_character_set.
    The following example assumes that the national character set is UTF16:
    SQL> select '*'||CHR(9 USING NCHAR_CS)||'Dear Mister Robinson,'||'*' my_tab from dual;
    MY_TAB
    * Dear Mister Robinson,*

  • Has anyone figured out how to indent when using the iPad keyboard?

    I am using iPad for meeting notes, but can't seem to figure out how to tab or indent when typing.

    In notes all I can figure out is to put a space or two at the beginning of each line but in pages if you touch the paintbrush at the top right corner and then list, there's an indent button. In notes sometimes I'll use a – to help delineate the indent.
