Eliminating 'the big white box ' on load

In the second or two before my flash page appears with normal
preloader etc, the size of the flash element is always shown a s a
big white box over the surrounding black page...my background color
is set to black on both the flash and html page containing it and I
try to leave first frame clear of elements that would slow
load...is there an easy fix for this unsightly hiccup to my
intro?

Try to set the flash window at "transparent, windowless" at
the HTML tab in export options.

Well, in later OSes, Mouse buttons can be switched in the Mouse Pref Pane, no idea if Magic Mice work like that.

Reflection Themes have big white box in the background

Rookie iDVD user here, and haven't been able to solve this one.
Trying to use the 6.0 theme "Reflection Black" and it is sticking a big white square in the middle of the screen. It is behind the drop zones and I cannot figure out why it is there or how to get rid of it. It gets added to submenu screens as well. Sometimes if I start over it goes away temporarily but eventually jumps in there.
I am seeing other oddness when switching between other themes as well, but this white box is the one I'm chiefly concerned with. Anyone else seen this? Is there a clean way to trash the non-7.0 themes and then reinstall them? Thanks.

Code? Page link? Can't help unless we see what's going on. It might just be that your container table/div has a white background assigned to it.

White box under Loader Component

I am using the Loader Component to load my images as they are
viewed in my file.
Most of my images are ok, but some have a white box
underneath of them.
I'll have an image that is like 300 pixels wide and 100 tall,
but it looks like a 100 wide by 200 tall white box is behind the
image. It does this with random images using the Loader COmponent.
any ideas what is up or how to fix it?

weird solution. i copied all of my keyframes into a new
document and when testing the movie the box problem does not
appear.

Basic Question, White box while loading

I am sort of a newb at flash. I have an animation for a site I am working on, When it first loads the viewer sees a white box before the animation. What do I do to eliminate that problem?

I think that is the answer. I tried it in a browser I had not been using so I believe the cache was clear and I did not get that white box. If you would I would appreciate it if you could try it to to make sure it is fixed.

Safari flashes white boxes when loading pictures or video, distorts text

Hi,
I have Safari 3.1.2 and a lot of times when I look at a photo on a flickr page, when the photo loads it flashes these annoying white boxes everywhere. And when I watch a youtube video it will flash white sections on them. Also, when I'm scrolling through an article, the lines will double up and distort. If I restart my computer it will adjust to normal, but the after a while it will start up again. I've singled the problem down to Safari because Firefox does not have this problem. I guess I could just use Firefox and say sayonara to Safari? Any advice?

I have exactly the same problem with browsers, iPhoto, and also text breaking up when scrolling up and down (in Mail, for instance). I also have a Macbook Pro (15", 2,4ghz, GeForce 8600M graphics).
I have heard about people taking the unit back to Apple and having the graphics card replaced, and some people talk about it being a video driver issue, but this has been going on for me since at least 10.5.2 (that's when I first noticed it as a problem) and if it's a software problem it's taking a long time to fix it!

White box showing up around my pattern, big white box?

I have a pattern to simulate a heather look. It uses some effects. The box itself is trimmed fine when selected, but when I drag it into swatches, a white box surrounds it, so that shows up when I try to fill the patters. It's not a little edge it's quite large. I have tried to expand, rasterize, make a box the size of the initial pattern and divide objects below or use the pathfinder to crop, but nothing is working.
Has anyone ever had this probelm, does anyone even know why the white box surrounds it?
Here is a snapshot when I select with the selections tool. You can see it goes to the proper edge, but look at the swatch it creates in the swatch pallete, it has a white boarder.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

What I ended up doing based on the earlier suggestion, was I realized when I was putting those gallery raster effects on it, it was that was which was causing the white box. So, what I did, was I created the solid color box, then rasterized it first, then applied the effects and that seemed to work as well....But, this is a great thing to know!!!!

I'm trying to load the free trial of Illustrator; I get to the Download page, click the big blue box at the top righthand of the screen, but it asks me to choose an application (?) What should I choose to open my new trial with? Thanks.

Giving Illustrator a try with the free trial offer. When I go to download Ai, I am asked to choose an application with which to open it--what should I choose?

Sounds like you maybe trying to download with firefox. In Internet explorer it will automatically switch to the correct application, but with firefox it prompts you instead.
Scroll down the window and find content manager. That will download the installer. Run the installer, after the installer has finished and the manager runs. Open the manager if it is not already, then from there you can select illustrator. It will install it for you.

There is a CSS error with Mozilla Thimble currently - showing a big white box over the code area. Can you correct this?

How do I get rid of the big white bar on the side of safari when I rotate my iPad Air horizontal?

When I rotate my iPad Air horizontal, about 1/3 of the screen on the left is white and says "favorites and reading list". I am not sure how this all of the sudden appeared, but it didn't used to be like that.

I keep getting a big white box with an "!" within a circle even after constantly refreshing Firefox

When playing a game on PCH I constantly get an interruption which is a large white square with a circle in the middle surrounding a ! symbol. Refreshing clears that up as it skips to a new game which will soon repeat the square, etc. I do get a message above that says an adobe plugin has crashed. Nothing I do seems to stop it for any length of time

Can I make the little white box with the cross in it disappear?

Layout mode. There is a tiny little square with cross in it, at bottom of text box. Cool. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
Is there a way to make that little box disappear? So I can view the page as it will print out? I'm making graphic images with LOTS of those little text boxes ... it's hard to judge the final layout with all those little squares with crosses in them.

Hi,
The + is shorthand for "There is extra material contained in this text box that you can't see." To make the cross go away you need to increase the size of the box. Just to make things a bit more confusing, sometimes the "extra" material is the default text that is replaced by text you type into the box. Thus while you "know" that there is no text in the box not currently showing if you take a look you'll find placeholder text put there by Pages.

What is the big white button on my new router

I have a newly installed MI424-WR Rev. E router and even though I was able to set it up and get it working on my own, I am courious about this large white button (which is apparently a switch since it clicks when pushed) which is labeled "Setup Wi-Fi protected". It glows orange when the unit is powered up but turns off after a few seconds. the user manual does not even show it on the drawing. I would like to know what it does and what position it shoud be in during normal operation.

ITs not enabled by Verizon at least at this time. Its there because Actiontec makes routers for other companies and individuals as well. For such it may be enabled

Why has the big green box - 'This site is safe' disappeared since a firefox restart to fix slowness?

Since doing a restart the green box 'this site is safe' isn't showing at the side of results when searching topics in google? It used to before I did it. Can't explain it in computer language!

I assume that you mean that you have reset Firefox and created a new profile.
A new profile doesn't have the extensions from the previous profile, but extensions that are installed globally can still be activated in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions".
Note that we see a lot of reports that extensions created by security software cause issues in Firefox, so be cautious in case problem return.
What problems did you have previously that you reset Firefox?<br />
Only slowness?
