Eliminations and adjustments rule: Other Dimension Filter

Hi guys,
Anyone knows if it is possible to include a specific property value of a USer defined Dimension as the criteria in "Other Dimension Filter"?
Instead of Product=Prod1 using something like Product.Family=Type1
Thanks

Hi Vadim:
This is Weiwei from SAP Support. I just tested in BPC 10 SP12 that the validation will not be passed when you put something like  PROFIT_CENTER.PCTR_TYPE=OP in additional dimension filter. You can only put dimension member in the filter such as PROFIT_CENTER=XXX.
I also test and verified in IFRS Startup Kit and can not find a rule that has the filter configured based on property in the business rule. If you see a different story, please let me know.
A rule is saved does not mean the rule is valid, that is why when you save a rule it will give you warning that it does match the validation. It is not a problem of the product, just as you save dimension without processing/validating it, does not mean the formula/value you put in the dimension sheet is valid.
Hope that helps. Feel free to let me know if you have any thoughts.
Thanks,
Weiwei

  • Use of other dimension filter in business rule

    Hi,
I have a requirement to create two eliminations and adjustment business rules, one of which should only run for a specific category and the other should run for all other categories. I thought I could use the other dimension filter for this and on the first rule CATEGORY=ACTUAL is accepted by the system. However, on the second rule I entered CATEGORY<>ACTUAL and when I save the rule I get an error saying that CATEGORY<>ACTUAL is not a valid logical expression.
As we have a number of categories I really do not want to create a rule for each one, so does anyone know a way to create a rule for all but one of my categories?
    Thanks,
    Arnold

    Hi Vadim,
we currently have around 20 categories (plus ACTUAL) and we get two new every year for multi year plan/forecast. If only = works I would have to create one very long string for the second rule and add to it very year.
I will try it though and if you are correct I might have to open a note with SAP.
    Thanks,
    Arnold

  • Make dimension values shown reflect other dimension filter values

I have created a cube and uses access this cube in an Excel pivot table.  Is it possible to make values shown for one dimension display only the values valid, if I have selected another dimension's value that would limit the values that should
show under the first dimension?  I tried linking the dimensions together with a key and that did not appear to do the trick.  I also tried using dependsondimension in properties for the other dimension, but that did not work either.  Is
there something I am missing that makes the cube only display the values in a dimension that apply when another dimension's value is filtered?

@Naveen - I am linking to the proper measure and am seeing the correct measure values.
@KR Jurgen - I'm not finding a spot to set the scope to NULL.  I would, but some people need all the values.
Here's an example.  I have company 1 and 2.  Company 1 has item A and Company 2 has item B.  They both have sales of $1.  There is a company dimension and item dimension.  When I filter by company 1, I see sales of $1.
The problem is, when I select the list of items from the item dimension, I still see item B.  If I put the items in the row, I only see item A.  The ideal situation would be to have only item A show when I select the list of items from the item
dimension.  Is there some way to accomplish this?
Thank you both for your responses.

  • Interco dimension filter in Automatic Adjustments

    Dear Experts,
In the automatic adjustment business rule, I created a rule where i used the interco dimension as a filter (eg.  Intco=I_4109 in the "other dimension filter" or R_selection field).  However, when i run the legal consolidation data package, i am not getting the expected results.  It seems that the system is not reading the interco filter.  Has anybody experienced this problem?

    Hi Sunny,
I have noticed this problem as well.
The validate option just does not work for extra added ORIG columns.
But the good news is.... if you save it, it will work.
The only penalty is that the validate option can't be used anymore... But hey.... who needs this option, we just don't make mistakes

  • How to find all intersections of children of currency dimensions and currentmembers of all other dimensions where data exists

Hi all, I have a requirement where I need to find all intersections of children of currency dimensions and currentmembers of all other dimension wherever data exists for them.
Its a ASO cube with and version is 11.1.2.2.
If I try to write the formula in a the below way to test, I get an error that 'Currenttuple can only be used with a named set'. But when I try to create a named set with the 'WITH' keyword, it not able to recognize the 'WITH' keyword. I think I am missing something obvious and this may not be the correct way to achieve this. Please help.
1st try with just Currenttuple - error 'Currenttuple can only be used with a named set'
    iif(
      (isgeneration([Time].currentmember,4)),
      CASE
      WHEN NOT ISEMPTY(
    Crossjoin([Currency].Children,

    [S Org].currentmember,[C Code].currentmember,
    ).Currenttuple
      THEN  Missing
      ELSE Missing
    END, Missing)
2nd try to create a named set with 'WITH' keyword - syntax error at WITH
    /*with set [NewSet] as

    [Billing Type].currentmember,
    [Business Area].currentmember,
    [Sales District].currentmember,
    [Data Source].currentmember,
    [View N/A]
    iif(
      (isgeneration([Fiscal].currentmember,4)),
      Filter([NewSet], NOT IsEmpty([NewSet].CurrentTuple))
    , Missing)

    Hi Tim,
Thanks for you reply and sorry for my delayed response. Actually there is one more requirement in this, which makes it a bit complicated. There are another set of members in the Measure dim called FXDirrate and FXIndrate. The logic is :
    1. If data exists for the combination of a Currency.children, FXDirrate and current member of all other dims
then convert the value for Currency.children by diving by FXDirrate
    2. If data exists for the combination of a Currency.children, FXIndrate and current member of all other dims
then convert the value for Currency.children by multiplying by FXIndrate
    3. Then value of the calculated members will be sum(all FXDirrate converted + all FXIndrate)
Currency does roll up but as the data for its children can either be in Dirrate or Indrate and the sum needs to be taken after the conversion, there I am not able to proceed as I am not able to check the existence of data in individual children of currency as Isempty isn't working on a set . Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Noise reduction function built into built into graduated filter and adjustments brush!

Really useful functionality, but maybe the tool name shout be "Noise reduction" rather than "noise" for the graduated filter and adjustments brush.  If I understand it correctly, the way all the sliders work now is that that movement to the left decreases the function of the slider, and to the right increases the function - if that is the case, then by labelling the slider "noise" would suggest that moving to the right is increasing the noise when in fact it is the reverse!

The explanation is that "noise reduction" doesn't fit the available space in all languages.

  • Dimension works for one and but for others

I have a situation in which all dimensions-- D1,D2,D3,D4,D5,D6 are joined to a Fact--F1. (both in physical and BMM)

In my report, I use columns from D1...D5 and F1....it works great....but it doesnt work when I add D6. I tried to get through this...and found that it doesnt work only if columns from D3 & D6 are used in the report. If either of the columns are removed it works fine..
    I get this error...

    Please help

    Hi,
Can you please let me know, if you have created the hierarchies for all the dim3 and dim6 dimensions? In case, not can you please create hierarchies for these dimensions and update the fact table sources accordingly so that the BI Server can understand better the grain of the fact and able to generate the query?
    Hope this helps.

  • Css 11801 When suspending and activating a rule, other rules may lock up re

    Hi
We have configured a set of rules under an owner. When we suspend any one rule, it causes a knock on effect resulting in one or two other rules ( under the same owner) to lock up. These then require suspending / activating afterwhich they work ok.
    s/w is enhanced feature set ap0500033 ( 5.00 Build 33)
It is intermittent with regards to which particular rule will lockup. Can anyone please advise?
    Thanks

I am not aware of this behaviour. However, ensure that you have configured the owners and the rules according to the documentation available. And also use the suspend command to suspend a rule. The documentation is available here:

  • Elimination in Consolidation rule

    Hi,
I have a doubt on Elimination in Consolidation rule.
Following is the scenario coppied from comma.rle from Comma application(Sample Applications)
    Assume dpcon=80, dpmin=20
    dPCon = HS.Node.PCon("")
' Here Pcon value is called. On basing our asumption dpcon will be 80% now.
    *call HS.Con("V#[Elimination]",-1*dPCon,"")*
    ` Here the 2nd argument is -1*dpCon.
`Will the system take it as 100-dpcon(20) or -1*dpCon(-80)?
`Will this value will be consolidated to parent entity under [Elimination](value dimension)?
    *call HS.Con("V#[Elimination].A#" & strPlug,dPCon,"")*
`Here the dpCon(80%) is transferred to plug account under [Elimination](Value) - What is its necessary to transfer 80% of value to plug account under elimination.
Please explain with the assumed values or example.
    Edited by: user8452342 on Jul 22, 2011 4:05 AM

I think you're asking how the PCon parameter works: during consolidation, the HS.Con function multiplies the data value for the current record by the PCon value. If PCon is 80 and the data value is 200 for example, this will consolidate 0.80 * 200 = 160. This will be written to the [Elimination] node you specified. In your example you also multiply the result by -1, so the consolidating value will be -160.

  • Search for member name in WebForms and Business Rules - 11.1.2.1

    Hi,
Client has a hierarchy with two parents (Owned and Managed) within a dimension. The 'Managed' parent is no longer valid. Thus they want to eliminate it and move it's children under the 'Owned' member. However there could be ramifications in Business Rules and/or WebForms. Is there a way to search all Business Rules and WebForms for 'Managed' to see which Business Rules and/or WebForms would be affected?
Or is best way to extract all the WebForms and Business Rules to xml files via LCM and then write custom script to search the files? Not sure if this functionality is already there or not.
    They are on 11.1.2.1

I don't think "Show Usage" picks up Business Rules that are in the Calculation Manger.
Also check the Member Formulas - easiest to do in the EAS (view the Outline, and the member formulas are displayed. Otherwise, in Planning, you would need to go into each member individually, and that would take forever). And if you're using Partitions or MRAs, you should check them, too.
I'm assuming you're doing all of this in a copy of the application, and not on a "live" app, right? So you can make the change and then validate the Business Rules and Outline, and the error messages will tell you where "Managed" was being used.

  • How to use "Adjustment Level " in automatic adjustments rule

Now we are setting up BPC for legal consolidation.
we use BPC 7.0MS SP4 Version.
I want to use some result of automatic adjustment rules for source data, so I tried to use adjustment level in automatic adjustments rules.
I was setting up A rule's (to use source data) adjustment level is 0 and B rule's level is 1,
the result of SPRUNCONSO were "Error" CSD-150 and CSD-160.
Please let me know how to use adjustment level option.
    Thanks.

    Hello :
    CSD-150
Check the method between METHOD Table and your ownership Cube. Check your Rules between the RULES Table and The ELIM Table. Check The INTCo.

  • Cost Centers and distribution rules

I need to allocate costs to profit centers and would like to have the costs be allocated first to the department cost center then distributed to product profit center by %.
Example:  An invoice is first allocated to the sales department, then the distribution rule will allocate the cost between 4 product lines (33 % chemical A, 33 % chemical b, 17 % chemical c and 17 % chemical d).
How would I setup the profit centers, cost centers and distribution rule to accomplish the above task.
    Thank you,
    Wayne

    Hi Fred,
    I assume you using 8.81?
    1. Administration - General Settings - Cost Accounting : Tick "Use Multidimensions" option
    2. Financial - Cost Accounting - Dimensions : Tick "Dimension 1" and "Dimension 2".
Give proper description to each dimension, in your case maybe "Department" to Dimension 1 and "Product" to Dimension 2
    3. Financial - Cost Accounting - Cost Centers : Create your intended cost centre, "Sales" cost centre with dimension "Department", "Chemical A" to "Chemical D" with dimension "Product"
    4. Financial - Cost Accounting - Distribution Rules :
As for your intention to allocate the invoice to Sales Department, since you want to allocate it 100% to Sales Department, you don't need to create a distribution rules, since B1 will automatically create a distribution rule with 100% allocation for each cost centre you created.
As for your production cost allocation, create a distribution rule with your code "DR-P01" as an example, choose dimension "Product", set the Total with "100". In the detail section, choose each cost centre (Chemical A to D), enter respective value and click "Add" button.

  • Currency Converion and Business Rule questions

    Hi all,
I am new to BPC and would appreciate if you can help me answer few of my questions. I was going through how to documents on currency conversion and Business Rules.
    1. The Flow in Currency Conversion and Business Rules different?
    2. Can Currency conversion be done without defining the Currency Rules?
    3. In Business Rules Detail there is a cloumn for Sign. How should one determine what sign should go for a given account?
    Thanks,
    Diksha.

    Venkatesh,
It seems like you are using Company as your Entity type dimension.
Try to change your code to look like this
    *RUN_PROGRAM CURR_CONVERSION
         CATEGORY = %CATEGORY_SET%
         SELECT(%CURRENCY_SET_ID%,"[ID]",CURRENCY,"CURRENCY_TYPE='R'")
         TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
         RATEENTITY = GLOBAL
        OTHER = [COMPANY=%COMPANY_SET%]

  • Sibling count calculation ignoring filtering from other dimensions.

    Hi.
I have an issue whereby including my calculated measure in a pivot returns more rows that I've filtered by.
So within my Account dimension I have a few attributes, one being a 'Parent Acct Id' and another the 'Child Acct Id'. I have setup the hierarchy accordingly and then created my measure as below
    [Measures].[Linked Accounts] AS COUNT([Account].[My Hierarchy].CURRENTMEMBER.SIBLINGS)
Then if I select my 'Child Acct Id' on rows then my calculated measure does correctly show the number of siblings. However the problem arises when I want to reduce the result set by an attribute from another dimension (e.g. a country name from a 'Country'
dimension) - doing this has no affect on the rows returned.
I should mention that if I filter on another attribute within the 'Account' dimension then that DOES filter as required. So it's behaving that my calculated measure only works
with selections from within the slice that I'm doing the sibling count on.
So I don't understand why the CURRENTMEMBER function doesn't work as it should.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
You can't filter Dimension_1 members by selecting Dimension_2 members. It's normal cube behavior.
Try use nonempty function with measure. For example:
    [Measures].[CalcMember] AS nonempty([Employee].[Employees].currentmember.siblings,[Measures].[Reseller Sales Amount])
So you can count nonempty siblings using other dimensions in filter. I hope that is you need.
    Best regards.
