Have you checked HP's support site? I have an Elitebook Folio 1020 and the 'factory installed' HP apps actually notified me I had a new update. If you don't have the Factory Image to consult with (usually available from the discs supplied with the unit) I would see what you can get from HP. Usually I can get everything I need from their website (although I will also admit navigating it can be a royal PITA).

what was done already:

How to install properlu bluetooth driver, so that bluetooth device will appear in device manager, and/or on system tray?

Greetings Team, I have an Elitebook 840 G1 of which I installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) on a new hard disk after my old one crashed. All drivers are in the green except my wireless driver. Elitebook 840

I cannot turn the touchpad off on my EliteBook 840. I tried the double-click motion on the touchpad but it does nothing. I really need to turn it off. Everytime I try to type my hand barely touches the touchpad and moves my position. Any help is appreciated!

I am doing an evaluation of HP for several enterprise customers
I have a HP Elitebook 850 G1 with me on my vacation, and it does not wake up. It has to be cold booted by pressing the power button until it power off. The PC does not respond to any other action.
(I post this here because is the same hardware in the 850 model.)
I have tried pulling out power, USB, Ethenet plugs. but no reaction
I have only plugged in a mouse, nothing else. It is plugged in to the power outlet all the time.
I also have two different 840 models, one with AMD graphic card and Broadcom communication chip (bluetooth and wireless), an I have one with all based on Intel (graphics, wireless). The last model i a 820. I dont know if these also have the same problem. I will test those are my vacation next week.
I have tried to deactivate hibernation in Windows Power options, but no good.
The power option not tried out is to set the harddrive "not to be turned off". I dont know if this will help with a SSD, but I'll find out later.

Elitebook 840 G1 Sleep Wakeup Issues Windows 10

Hello AllI have an HP Elitebook 840 G1. I've recently installed Windows 10 x64 enterprise edition.I noticed that why my Laptop goes to sleep mode or I put it in sleep mode it doesn't wake up properly.the hardware wakes up, the hard disk shows data is getting processed but screen doesn't show anything. after few minutes the system completely restarts. I've updated all the windows updates.unfortunatly, there is something wrong with HP website when you search for driver/BIOS updates. previously it use to show a lot of components which BIOS was one of them. HP Elitebook 840 NIC issue

Strange issue. I have an Elitebook 840 with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit. Once installed, I copied the driver disk to an external drive and installed the drivers. All the drivers have installed with one exception. When the NIC driver installs, the system freezes. No mouse movement, nothing. I do a hard shut down and reboot and it freezes on the Welcome screen. If I reboot and go into Safe Mode (No Network) it loads up. I remove the driver and reboot and it boots up fine. I have searched far and wide for updated drivers and cannot find any. Even the driver on the HP site does the same. Anyone have a suggestion?

HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000 Will Not Pair with HP EliteBook 840 G1

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G1 running Windows 7 64-bit. I recently purchased the HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000. I cannot pair the mouse with my PC. The mouse is working properly, I can pair it with my iMac with no issues. The HP EliteBook's Bluetooth radio is working properly, I am amble to pair my Apple Magic Mouse, Bose Speaker, iPhone, printer, etc. with no issues. The HP EliteBook does not even detect the Z8000 mouse. The iMac detects it immediately. What am I doing wrong? Is there a driver to download? The mouse says Bluetooth Smart on the box, which I understand in Bluetooth 4.0. According the HP's documentation, my EliteBook has Bluetooth 4.0? How can I confirm this?

Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260NB 802.11a/b/g/n (2x2) WiFi Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n (2x2) and Bluetooth® 4.0 Combo Now, please check Device Manager (Network Adapters) to see which wireless card is on your machine because one card does not have BT. Regards.

Need wireless drivers for Satellite A100-259

Had to reformat my daughters laptop (A100-259 PSAA2) due to virus issues and am in the process of rebuilding it. Almost there but can't seem to get the wireless bit to work. Nothing appears in the system tray even when it's switched on (little switch on the right has the light on). I assume because i've reinstalled XP that i need to reinstall the wireless drivers but i can't seem to find them on the toshiba web site (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK). It only shows the Atheros management utility.
Any advice would be greatly appreciate especially as i'm pretty new to this kind of stuff and she has lost the manual that came with the laptop.

I dont know why no WLAN drivers are available for this A100 model and Windows XP but you can search for an other A100 model (for example Satellite A100 PSAA8).
Then you will find an Atheros WLAN driver for Windows XP and it should also work.

HP all in one ms237 cant get wireless drivers to work

Hi i have a HP all in one PC, ive had this PC for a very long time, we upgraded to windows 8 and i dont remember how but i did manage to get wireless drivers on it at one point. the PC's hard drive went out and so i bought a new one and re-installed windows 8 (64 bit) onto it and now i cant get wireless drivers to get installed on it. I tried running the drivers with windows 7 compatability but no dice. I also tried different versions of the driver and still no luck, device manager will see the wireless card but says its not working properly (driver issue) the weird thing is that when i uninstall the drivers for it i can see the adapter in adpater settings, however when i install newer drivers and it goes back to being non existent lol. Any ideas?

I understand that you are having issues getting your wireless to work on your HP Pavilion All-in-One MS237 Desktop PC running Windows 8. As you probably have already figured out there are no Windows 8 drivers for your computer. I can see why you would have issues installing Windows 7 drivers on a Windows 8 computer. What you probably did initially was upgrade your Windows 7 to Windows 8 with the driver already installed. Unlike a new Windows 8 installation where you need to install the drivers an upgrade will already have drivers installed and the operating system is simply replacing what is needed without having to go through the installation process.
I would recommend that you either install your original Windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 8 or you may want to look at replacing the 802.11 b/g/n PCI express wireless half-length mini card with one that is compatible with Windows 8.

Scientific Linux On G50 Laptop No Wireless Drivers

I bought a brand new G50 laptop with a core i5 intel processor for my business as I do with every computer I installed scientific linux and the wireless drivers aren't available.
I need to find some that will work in a bad way.

I think they use open source drivers for everything, except the ones with Nvidia cards that probably use the closed source Nvidia drivers (not a problem on Arch obviously). I've heard a lot of good things about System76, and they even sent me free Ubuntu stickers
EDIT: Looks like they use "Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100" for wireless, at least on the one that I checked. Here's more info: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wir … 000-series The firmware it talks about I belive is available on the Install CD as long as you tell it to install, or of course with pacman (duh).

I'm going to look tomorrow to a laptop, the seller say it's an HP Elitebook 840 G1
He never used it and once turned it on, but than he had to registrate and thought it was better not to do that and leave that the person who buy the laptop.
I asked him what model it is, because there are several models, but he can't find it.
He said it has:

and that the hard disc is 360 and the strange thing is that I can't find a HP Elitebook 840 G1 with a hard disc from 360
He bought it in Canada.
He did send me some pictures with the stickers which are on the laptop, but I don't know where to look for to check this is real or not.

Wireless Drivers... Error :/

Hello all!!!. I Was able to Install a Full Arch Linux Install including a Full GUI (GNOME). Now i'm installing this on a MacBook Pro so this is INTEL hardware. I'm running the x86_64 version. Now im trying to install my Wireless drivers (Broadcom BCM312) Now i was able to compile and install YAY!. Using Makepkg and Pacman install method. Now following this guide to install http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_BCM4312 . I Now to do these following commads
# modprobe lib80211_crypt_tkip
# modprobe wl
# insmod /lib/modules/2.6.33-ARCH/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/wl.ko
Now when i do this command i get the following error in Terminal: WARNING: /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf line 5: ignoring bad line starting with 'MODULES=(!snd_pcsp). Im getting this for "modprobe lib80211_crypt_tkip"

Correct - no bumping. See here for details on this and other guidelines for using this forum.
Re your issue - the first message is quite clear IMO. Line 5 of your modprobe.conf is not in the correct format i.e. it's a bad line, so modprobe is ignoring it. It also says it is a warning, not an error. If you want it to go away, fix line 5.
The second message is an error, due to a mistake on that wiki page. Use either modprobe or insmod (preferably modprobe) to load the wl driver, but not both.

Elitebook 840 / 850 only boot if an LAN-Cable is plugged in

.....we solve the problem that our new EliteBook 840 and 850 only boot if the LAN cable is connected. Without LAN Contact the laptops in the boot process to stop.
A BIOS update and an update of the driver was not successful. Reinstalling remained without success.

Enable scrolling on Elitebook 840?

Hi!
Could someone please let me know if it's possible to enable scrolling on my new Elitebook 840? I have searched the forum and found a link to an instruction for windows 8 here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03523373#N618, but I don't have the "Device settings" tab and don't know how to proceed. Please help!

System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > Mouse Options button.... > check Scrolling
