Elitebook 8530 sparekey problem after password recovery

Hi,
I'm a bit panicking - but will try to make this lucid.
I very much hope you guys can help..
It's the continuation of a problem I asked yesterday somewhere else.

Basic system information:
EliteBook 8530; runs on Vista Business. More details about system in above thread
But for a short run-down:
- Yesterday my user-password was not accepted.
- Still had admin-access via fingerprints
- Ran Malbytes anti-malware and AVG anti-virus - neither found much of anything.
- Made new admin account, used that to reset my password.
- Posted the above-mentioned topic whether someone could check for malicious processes.
- Yesterday evening shut down the computer as normal
- This morning it mentioned that recently a password had been reset [with some location I didn't know. Had my name in it twice, so perhaps root-password or something?
- Only option was to click 'OK' and enter HP Sparekey.
- Currently I have the following message: Some users have not enrolled for HP SpareKey recovery. Do you want to enroll now? Answer-options: Yes; No; Do not show again.
I don't know the implications or effects of any of them - so haven't done anything yet.
Note: I don't think any of the accounts have HP SpareKey enrolled. I have never seen about it previously.
However, I got my laptop via an university-program, so the operating systems etc. had been preinstalled.
It might be possible they installed ShareKey for the initial account - but I think I would've heard of that.
So please someone help me - I really don't know what to do..

  • 6509 - 720 Supervisor Module Failure after Password Recovery

    Hi,
    I attempted to perform a password recovery on a 6509 with dual WS-SUP720-3B modules running 12.2(33)SXI2A.
    After changing the configuration register to 0x2142 and booting, I am getting a major error on the supervisor modules. I've changed the configuration register back to 0x2102 and am still getting the same error on both supervisor modules. I've also tried it with one module removed and one module installed.
    I have about 30 seconds in where I can run commands before I get booted to rommon.
    Any thoughts?

    What kind of line card was being inserted in slot 6? Have you tried other slots? The crash file in the RP says it was reset by SP, so the important crashinfo file would be in the sup-bootflash: Try an see if you find any "dir sup-bootflash:"

    A Is there any different procedure to install line modules in supervisor slots?
    >>No there are no special configuration you need to do when inserting a line card in slots that normally would be for supervisor.
    B Switch is having previously removed linecard (i.e, fastethernet module)in running configuration. Will it create any system crash?
    >>No, it will not cause the switch to crash, when you see the configuration of a line card even after it was removed is quite normal, it's cold module provisionsing, you would not want to keep putting in a configuration for any line card after just resetaing them do you?

    10/26/13 I have tried several times to no avail today. Oddly, the password was saved under my main email addree to get into the forum but I can not get downloads to download.
    Is there an issue with Apple server responding to sending password recovery to my main email address today?

  • Account has forgotten history after password recovery

    Hi all,
    I mistyped my password a couple of times on my iPhone today and had to go through iTunes to recover/reset it.
    Then I went to update my iPhone app "Saisuke" But I was told only existing purchasers could get the Update !
    I have had my account for several months and have bought a number of apps for my iPhone.
    I cannot find anywhere to report a problem as my account through iTunes shows nu purchase history. I even have all of my receipt emails where I purchased them
    What can I do ?

  • HP Deskjet 3510 Wireless Network Problems after Password Reset

    The password on our wireless router was recently changed, and I have not been able to get my printer working since - this has actually happened before and I WISH I could remember how I fixed it last time, but this time it seems no matter what I try (deleting the printer and any related software, reboot, reinstalling software and hardware), nothing seems to help. I managed to print a wireless network test page and there it tells me that the "WPA security passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting". Now that much I already know, and the solution makes sense as well, to re-enter the wireless network WPA security passphrase, except I am drawing a blank as to how exactly I am supposed to do that. Oh and I should also mention that unlike last time now the blue wireless control light and the white e-print light on the printer control panel are blinking constantly as soon as the printer is turned on and started up. I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thank you!

    I'm an Italian user and use skype a few days ago but always entering my password on my account: marketing.strategy the system tells me my password is incorrect. I try and ripvoro but wrong. Then dopoun few times that I post tells me that two Sorry but you are limited to security Reasons to the number of temporary codes Received Each Day. You have Reached That limit have today, Please try again in 24 hours. But how do I get the Code if the email does not exist. I note that the password I had changed a few days before and I was duly sent on the address code now says he is not among its records. Please help me I've saved hundreds Contact account and I have not done BackUp well as hundreds of Skype clients know that account. Thanks anyway!

  • Apple ID problem after password change?

    I cant download anything from the store with my apple ID after they asked me to change the password, cuz i dont have a credit card!!!
    They keep telling me that i have to submit the billing options before i have to continue !, i was fine before they asked me to change my password.

    I am in a loop: having changed password, Adobe insists on new subscription to PDF conversion before converting a document, but will not accept my submission because I already have a subscription with 4 months still to run before renewal. How do I sort this idiot out?

    Which subscription service did you purchase?  Adobe PDF Pack or ExportPDF?
    Could you make sure that you are signed in before converting documents?
    Go to the home screen of Adobe Reader for iOS.
    Tap My Account in the lower left corner.
    Tap the blue Sign In button.
    Sign in with your Adobe ID and new password.

    Hello, hope someone is able to help.
    Two days ago I changed my email password, since then I haven't been able to log back in at all. It doesn't recogonise my new or old password and also doesn't recognise any  personal information so not even able to get in that way. I've emailed (with another account) bt but haven't heard back yet. I'm a little desperate now as I already had a few emails to answer.
    Please help, thank you.

    Hi Lee.
    Sorry to hear this. Have you tried the reset password area (see my shortcuts option 3a) ? It seems like you have by the info you've supplied.
    May I ask how you changed the password ? Was it via a similar screen display to my option 3 , usually reached from the accounts & billing page in the portal.
    Are you logging in via webmail, or using an email client program such as Outlook, Windows Mail or Thunderbird ?
    It does seem like somehow the act of changing the password has somehow corrupted the entry. Is there any slight chance you may have entered the password and somehow pressed the wrong key twice including the confirmation entry ?, or indeed another slight mistake that you can possibly remember ? Sorry for any inference, but it can happen unfortunately.
    If all these things fail, then certainly the helpdesk is your best route as the other replies have said.

    i have a problem with an SRW224G4P.
    I have lost my admin password. And yes i have read the "Linksys SRW series Switch Password Recovery Procedure".
    My problem is that the message "Autoboot in 2 seconds - press RETURN or Esc. to abort and enter prom." don't appear.
    So what can i do?

    After many reboots, many hours and several terminal software, i get never a message like "Autoboot in 2 seconds - press RETURN or Esc. to abort and enter prom."

    Reset Password
    Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
    When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
    Wait until  OS X Utilities window shows up.
    Move the mouse pointer to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
    from the drop down.
    Terminal window will appear.
    Type in   resetpassword   and press enter on the keyboard.
    Leave the Terminal window open.
    Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
    Select the user account from the popup menu box under “Select user account”.
    Enter a new password.
    Reenter the new password for the user.
    Enter a hint.
    Click the "Save" button.
    Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
    Log in.
    If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

    hi everyone
    this is my first time, im helping my nextdoor neighbours laptop hp g56,
    the hard drive has been fried and i have intalled my old playstation 3 40 gb hard drive into it.
    after the recovery system finished and told me to remove disk 4 it restarts and now have a black screen, does this mean its still installing because i turned it off and then on and now say no bootbale device.

    The message means that your internal hard has been damaged. This message always comes up when the file system is corrupted. I suggest to remove it, connect the hard drive into a different computer as an external drive (use usb caddy), perform a backup if possible and the format the hard drive and restore the factory settings. I'm afraid that you have to reformat the hard drive, a checkdisk scan won't help..
    The error message means that the Boot Sector is corrupt or has been damaged. It does not mean that the hard disk is damaged.
    This is a fixable issue. There are a few command line tools that can be used.
    You will  need to make an appropriate version (32-bit / 64-bit) of the Windows 7 repair disc from a working Windows 7 installation. You will need either a USB or CD to create your rapair CD/USB. Follow the instructions on this video to create the repair installation of your choice..You will will be using the manual boot sector repair that is described in this video to repair your Windows 7 Boot sector.  Use the Windows 7 repair disc or repair USB thumb drive that you created earlier to accomplish the repair.
