Ellipse that is not filled in?

How do I draw an ellipse that is not filled in? I want to circle a date on a calender using the ellipse tool. However the tool fills in the ellipse blacking out the date I circled. I am using Mac Photoshop Elements 2.0

The reason I brought up my method is in case you really wanted to draw the ellipse using the Shape tool rather than the Marquee Tool. And as Barbara said, this method works for any Custom Shape. While we're on the topic, here's a way to crop a picture into a custom shape.
1. Draw the Custom Shape (must be solid shape), creating new layer.
To maintain shape's aspect ratio, hold down Shift while drawing.
2. To fine-tune position and size of shape:
Lower opacity of shape layer to see subject beneath.
Use Move or Transform tools to make adjustments.
3. Move shape layer below picture layer.
(If picture layer is the Background layer, must first rename it).
4. Select picture layer and group it with shape layer.
5. Use Move tool to position shape over desired location (either layer
can be active for this).
6. Link the 2 layers.
7. Ctrl-click shape layer to select it for copying & pasting.
(note: to copy, must use Edit->Copy Merged or Shift-Ctrl-C)
Note:
If an adjustment layer was first added to the picture before drawing the shape: after step 4 click the link box in the adjustment layer so that the adjustment and picture layers will Move together.

Query on Cats data, employees that have not filled in their data.

Hi,
I have to create a query that will report on all the employees that have not filled in their timesheets. The 0CATS_C01 cube does not contain that data, it only has the employees that have filled in their timesheets.
The route I have decided to take with this requirement is to create a cube with each employee and ecah day of the year and then create a multiprovider with the 0CATS_C01 cube and create an exception report with this multiprovider. I am not sure that this is the best way to go about this report.
However I am stuck at the new employee cube - I don't know how to add a record for each employee and each day to the cube.
Experts, could you please suggest a better way of developing this query, and also a solution to adding a record for each employee and each day of the year, I think that I could do this in the "Start Routine" of the update rule, but am uncertain.
Please help.

I have not worked with CATS data, but consider an InfoSet of employee and the InfoCube. This would provide a list of all emplyees and their CATS data. Create a query, and select by time, and filter by a key figure in the CATS infoCube < 1.
Also consider using a one characteristic DSO instead of the employee master data of "active" employees and using that in the InfoSet. (We probably don't need to know that an an employee who quit six months ago did not fill in his time sheet!)

16:9 Not filling screen

Without thinking I switched my camera over from HD to SD but left it set on 16:9. Now I am editing footage that does not fill the screen. It appears as a letter box in the middle of the screen with huge swaths of black all around. Is there anyway I can at least get the image to fill the screen horizontally?

My guess is that you shot the footage 16:9 Anamorphic SD but edited in 4:3 SD, which meant you unwittingly created a 4:3 edit with black letterbox bars added at top and bottom. The pillarboxing of that footage that you're also seeing when viewing your DVD version may simply be due to playback settings on the DVD player or display setting on your TV. (Is it a widescreen TV?) Alternatively you may have actually recorded the footage in camera as letterboxed 16:9, then edited that in an 16:9 Anamorphic timeline ... result would be the same ie a postage stamp surrounded by black. The point being you need to provide more accurate details before any of us (including yourself) are going to know what you did and how you might fix it.
Do you still have the footage and project on your Mac? If so, then load one of the source clips into the Viewer window ... Does it have black letterbox bars at top and bottom? Is it full frame 4:3 but everything seems tall and thin? With the clip in the Viewer and with the Viewer window active, press cmd-9 (item properties) and list for us what format details are displayed for this clip. Now what about the edit? With sequence in the timeline and the timeline window active, press Cmd 0 (sequence settings) and list for us all the settings details for the sequence. With the Canvas window active, press Shift Z (fit to window) and tell us whether the display shows black letterbox bars, black pillarbox bars, neither or both.

TableColumn Label not filling entire column

I have a table column with a Label but when I set the text and say set the background color that does not fill the entire TableColumn.

Not sure if you mean a column in a row ?
You can use:
tableView.setColumnResizePolicy(TableView.CONSTRAINED_RESIZE_POLICY);This will expand the columns to fit the displayable area.
You can then use setPrefWidth(Double.MAX_VALUE) on the label to tell it to use all space made available by the expanded table cell.

If you just need it for one site you can use the portable version of Firefox 2 instead. You can install the portable version on a USB key, or if one is not available choose the custom install and install it somewhere on your hard drive. The portable version will not interfere with your current version of Firefox. You can get the portable version from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - the link for Firefox 2.0.0.20 is near the bottom of that page.

Do you not have this avaiable in the print menu in Preview with these documents?
I have also found a link on the Adobe web site that discusses that this facilty is enabled by the creater of the PDF.

If you do a web search there are various claims on how to save a protected PDF, I have'nt a way to test the proceedures. I would want a copy of any forms that I sent off, not sure why they protect them in this way, there must be a reason.

I have my settings to not fill in the URL bar when I type. Yet, when I type something, it's giving me a drop down of sites that match as I type. Why? And how do I get it to stop? It's really annoying.

In the Firefox 3.0.x versions you are limited about what to do with the location bar.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Mirroring won't fill the TV screen. The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the iPhone 4S or prior an aspect ratio of 3:2, neither of these will fit exactly into a TV screen which as an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Apple TV will not zoom the mirrored image, because it may well cut off information which is situated at the top or bottom of the screen.
You may wish to try each of the settings in settings > AirPlay > Adjust for Overscan for the best setting that suits you.

The short answer is no.
Unless you are selling the app via the Enterprise Deployment option, everyone has to download via their own iTunes account ID. Yes, iTunes can be used by multiple IDs but this makes it very messy to resolve later.
What kind of app is this? Which Expo? If an Expo for selling apps has poor Internet connection I would question the validity of using such an expo in the first place.

If this media was purchased on iTunes, then iTunes in the Cloud gives you access to most of your past purchases. You can delete it and whenever you want access to it again re-download it:
