Ellipse tool not on tool menu

I can't figure out where the ellipse tool is. I upgraded from Pagemaker 6.5 and really miss it. InDesign CS3 5.5 is harder to learn for some reason. Can anyone help me? Did I need to install something separately?

It's under the rectangle tool. Just opt+click to toggle through the tools.

My Bridge Tools menu does not have Photoshop submenu

Hi,
In Bridge CS3, I just noticed that the Tools menu does not have a Photoshop submenu and therefore I cannot apply Batch commands - among other things.
I have the latest version (2.1.1.9) in MAC OS X Leopard. What is going on?
I have a friend that has the same program in Windows Vista and has the Photoshop submenu...

Check your preference folder start up scripts. Inhere the startup script should have a checkmark on it. if not put in on and after restart the script should be there.
Otherwise try a refresh preferences holding down the option key when restarting bridge.

Fire FTP does not appear in the Firefox 4 Tools Menu, where is it?

I have just upgraded Firefox from 3.6.16 to Firefox 4
(OS Win XP)
I had Fire FTP as an add on, but after upgrading it disappeared from the Tools Menu (along with all my accounts details)
I then re installed the Fire FTP Add On but it does not appear in the Tools Menu, where has it gone?
Firefox 4 appears to have reinstalled previously removed Extensions/Add ons
The Tools Menu doesnt have anything in it.
How can I roll back from Firefox 4

I don't know why the development team chose to move it there, but they've been making a lot of stupid design decisions recently.

Bridge CS4. Tools not revealing whole menu

I have installed and reinstalled CS4 bridge/photoshop several times but not all of the Tools menu options are showing up. As it stands, only these appear:
Batch Rename
Create Metadata Template
Edit Metadata Template
Append Metadata
Replace Metadata
Cache
As I understand there should be more batch operations including the Photoshop operations?

At the end of that row you mentioned should show Photoshop with a little
triangle. Pressing on this will provide a submenu with batch / HDR
Photomerge etc.
If you don't have that first check Bridge preferences and see if under the
chapter startup scripts a checkmark is showing in front of Photoshop. If not
press on it and restart Bridge and you should be OK
If it is there or there is no Photoshop at all first try to restart Bridge
with holding down option Key and choose refresh prefs. If still no luck you
have either installed in the wrong place or a bad install. But you should
provide more details about system and place you have installed

Tool/Menu bar icons not active - Acrobat in BROWSER

I have installed the SP1 update of windows 7. I have the latest version of Acrobat 10. I also have the latest version EXPLORER (9) & FIRE FOX (4). The PDF file comes into the BROWSER & the Acrobat icons (print, save) show up on the tool/menu bar but are not active. The commands are active with the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.
Also, links to other web sites (URL's) within the PDF document are not active. ie. Does not LINK.
If I force ACROBAT to open as an independent program everything works OK.

Have you solved this yet? Perhaps trashing the preference file for the menubar would solve this? Go to the preferences folder-- /Library/Preferences --and trash this file:
com.apple.systemuiserver.plist

Firefox Help page on "blocking cookies" is incomplete and refers to a "tool" menu that does not exist

There is no text after the colon.
Also the same page refers to selecting a "Tools" menu from the Firefox window(whatever that is?) - in order to get "Page info" so that cookies can be blocked. I can't the Tools menu - clicking on the Firefox (at top left hand of page) does not give this option.
I was looking at this page in order to find out how to permanently block specific cookie sites. I block them when they appear when I have set "accept 3rd party cookes to "keep until" - "ask me every time" - and I also have "clear history when Firefox closes" set. However the blocked addresses are deleted when I come out of Firefox - this is very irritating as there are some cookies I wish to permanently block. This means that every time I open a web site I have to click on "deny" cookie several times - even thought they are the same ones I have blocked in a differenrt session. I prefer to choose what I block as some sites really don't work without their personal cookies - usually to support subscriber log in (e.g to log in to the "New Scientist" site)so "private browsing" doesn't really help and as you have mentioned elsewhere blocking 3rd party cookies can also cause problems

Thank you for "Do Not Track" it's a good start although it will have no effect if the sites ignore it.

Looks like a problem with show for that is only specified for Firefox 3.5 for that section.

"options" is not listed on tools menu

"Options" is not listed on my pull down Tools menu. I am trying to prevent .pdf files from opening in excel and apparently need to access options to do so.

I am not able to view "Selenium IDE(Version Downloaded 1.21 Firefox v.28)" in my tools menu even though i see in Add-Ons.

I installed the latest Firefox available in Online and tried to install "Selenium IDE" to learn for testing purpose.All the installation was successfull (Also Selenium IDe addon was was available in Addon Manager) but it was not available in Tools Menu in the Menu Bar.
Please give me a suggestion to install Selenium Ide.I tried reinstalling it also i tried deleting files in "show directory" of Application Basics in Troubleshooting Information.

Selenium IDE 1.21 is very dated, please try installing 2.5.0 from http://docs.seleniumhq.org/download/

Tools Menu not displaying Scripts

I found and posted to another thread about this, but am not getting any responses - I'm hoping a fresh topic will bring me some help.
I just found out about creating an InDesign contact sheet from within Bridge, and wanted to try it out, and that's when I discovered I don't have the scripts mentioned in the tutorial under my Tools menu.   
I do have this folder: Library>Application Support>Adobe>Bridge CS3>Startup Scripts - but it's empty (I didn't even have this folder until I rebuilt the preferences, trashed the com. file, etc. etc., and now it's there, but with no scripts. According to the tutorial where I learned of these scripts, I should have Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign showing up under the tools menu, but they are not there.
Please can someone guide me in the right direction so that I can take advantage of this feature. I confess I've largely ignored Bridge, but lately I've been using it, and learning how useful it can be.

Assuming that you have CS3 suite at the latest update and Bridge at 2.1.1.9, checked and repaired the permissions with disk utility (or disk Warrior) and have all the applications with their original names in the Application folder on the root level of your HD?
2 options to try:
The easy one: create a new user and check if it works in this user
The hard one: delete the central cache file from the user lib - cache - adobe - bridgeCS3 manually (mind: everything needs to recache again!), delete the Bridge.plist file from the user lib preferences folder (both cache and plist file rebuild them selves after restart Bridge) and restart Bridge holding down option to refresh preferences.
reset preferences to your wishes and restart Bridge

Photoshop not available in 'Tools' menu in Bridge

Hi all,
Very strange occurance for me, in the Bridge tools menu of CS5 - photoshop showed up as an option and I used it to access image processor which in turn opened photoshop and nothing happened.
I restarted both programs and photoshop was then not available on the tools menu of bridge.
I had a problem with photoshop last night and I had to trash the preferences file, is this something I have to do with bridge also?

So in Bridge's preferences, there weren't any startup scripts showing when the problem occurred but when unchecked 'start bridge at startup' and restarted the machine the tools menu once again had photoshop available. All by magic apparently.
Any idea why this magically disappearing then reappearing happens?

VI ran from tools menu does not work correctly

I have a VI that I created in LV7.0 and it works great in 7.1 now I am trying to get it to work in 8.0 and I get a very weird thing going on in 8.0 that I cannot understand. If I run the vi as is it works great it finds all the vi's in memory as it should but when it is run from the tools menu. (I did this by saving it to the projects folder) it does not find all the vi's in memory. So i started doing some debugging and found the code was OK. The I tried the example called memory monitor and when it is run standalone (ie double clicking on it in the example finder) everything runs great but when I save it to the project folder it does not show all the vi's in memory as it should. Does anyone have an explantion to this.

Yes, this is the result of a fairly significant change in LabVIEW 8. LabVIEW now has more than one "sandbox" so-to-speak such that you can have multiple copies of the same VI (or different VIs with the same name) in memory at the same time. These separate "sandboxes" are referred to as "Application Instances". VIs launched from the menus run in a different application instance than user VIs do. Page 11 in the LabVIEW 8 Upgrade Notes, section header "User VIs", discusses in more detail this issue and what you can do to achieve the old behavior.

Panasonic DVX-100 audio sync tool not showing up in the tools menu

Using FCP 7 in new Mac Pro with a clean install. I following the directions for copying the DVX-100 audio sync file into the proper folder /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins/
The directions say the Offset Audio Sync command should now appear in the Tools menu. It does not.
I have tried trashing preferences - reinstall the Audio Sync Tool - but it still does not show up.
I use the Panasonic Camera and with my earlier editions of FCP I had no problem installing and using
the Audio Sync file.
Anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

"Tools" Menu of Firefox 5 sometimes switches the background to black . Black letters on black is not readable. How can I resolve this?

When I start Firebox the Tools Menu has white background. When I leave the computer for a while and return - reactivating Windows from sleep mode - Then the Tools Menu background is black. Since black letters on black are not readable I cannot select from that Menu. Since installing Firefox 5 this happened 4 times.

computer, i have a samsung at my vaction home and it wants to see a different resolution, I don't know that this will help yo, as it has been months since I have been there/done that.
