Elongated or Halved Characters on Macbook

I'm having trouble with printing from my Macbook to my HP Deskjet 882C. It was working fine with my Powerbook before it, but now I'm having strange, elongated characters, or the character's aren't printing entirely -- usually only their top half.
Any ideas?

Solved my own problem! A mere reinstall of the drivers fixed the problem.
Thanks anyways!

    Hey brainmasala,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Sounds like you are not able to connect to a Wi-Fi network with your iPad. This article has a section for Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network and the second article is the recommended network settings. If after these it still has the same issue you may want to restore the device to factory settings.

  • Tried everything but cannot get Mail to send on one account

I know this is a wide reaching subject and I've been trawling all the web for a solution for past 48hrs and have tried everything but still cant get mail to send or connect to SMTP server for one set of accounts!!!
I am running Lion on iMac and it's fully up to date. I am using Mail for iCloud a/c, some hotmail a/c's and a Company domain with various email accounts, this is the problem one. I cannot for the life of me get the Comapny accounts to send mail, the same accounts are on iPad and Iphone and working fine but on Mail - no chance. I have:
deleted accounts and set up again
    tried POP and IMAP
    Tried different ports
    tried different securitity levels
    Deleted .plist file
    Removed passwords from keychain
deleted all assocoiated Mail files to create "fresh" app
    repaired disk permissions
Deleted again and reset again - over and over
Used a friends MBP and accounts worked fine!!
What is going on? I shut iMac down as I was on holiday for 2 weeks, when I got home booted up and thats when the issues started, nothing changed at all in terms of iMac settings, internet etc etc. VERY WEIRD! Especially as seems fine on iPhone & iPad.
Would appreciate any help but please note I have tried all the basic type repairs as listed.

    Hi Glenn's
I am in the UK and had a similar problem. Ii eventually found the problem was due to my BT Home Hub Router.  Not sure where you live, but of you are in the UK, this might work for you.
I found this fix below on https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4604180?start=15&tstart=0
It worked for me.  If you can't link to the URL, here is the body of the text
There's an issue related to the BT homehub that is providing a hostname that is "syntactically incorrect" for several smtp server.
Here's how you can fix it.
Using your internet browser, go to the address "192.168.1.254
    - Follow instructions to reset your password if asked.
    - Then go to "Settings", then "Advanced Settings" and "home network"
You will see there all the devices that are connected or that has been connected before. It's gonna be easyer if yout computer is the only one connected.
Your computer should have a name like "unknown-xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ...
Click on this name, chose another name without any special characters, like "macbook" for exemple.
    And then click on "apply"
    - restart your computer.
    That should fix the issue.

  • Cannot send mail (SMTP offline)

I cannot send emails from either of my two email accounts (Hotmail and work) through Apple Mail. I have tried deleting the keychain data and all manner of different ports/authentication combinations - the incoming server is fine, but the SMTP servers never connect. They always time out.
    Is there a fix?

  • TS3276 mail 4.5 unable to send?

    Hi all,
I have 3 email acct and all work fine on my old imac.
Got a MacBookPro and copied the exact same settings from my mail app and except for iCloud/me, they do not allow me to send. I do recieve all emails.
When I run connection doctor all get green lights and 1 red ligh as well!
When mail is open all 3 accts look normal and running, until I try to send. Then a warning window on top of the message pops up saying the sender address was rejected by the server smtp.me.com (or the gmail or send.one.com too) and it shows my those servers are offline, yet in the connection doctor green lights for all but also red for gmail and send.one as well.
Very confused here, any help would be gratetely appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Rodolphe

  • Verizon not sending from multiple Mail accounts

We are not tech-oriented and bought our MacBook Pro for its user-friendliness, like sending an iPhoto image right to our Mail program to send to friends and relatives. Sending through Mail is not working right now and this is a big disappointment. We're running the most recent Leopard updates. Our provider is Verizon and we've been trying to set up Mail for our family's 3 accounts. We are using the following settings (all correct according to Verizon):
    server name: outgoing.verizon.net
    ports: default ports (25, 465, 587)
    authentication: password
    username: [email protected]
    password: ourVerizonPassword
    no ssl
We can receive mail ok but sending has followed this pattern:
All 3 accounts might send the first email message successfully, or sometimes only the primary account can send the first email attempt. Then, on trying to send a second email message, only the primary account will work, or none will work. Then, on the third attempt to send email, no accounts will work.
We've repeatedly deleted the accounts and started over again only to have the same progressively failing results. Some of what we've read here on this forum makes it sound like this is an unsolved, unaddressed problem. Does anyone have any further insights?

  • I can't come in to my Mail.

I have a MacBook Air from the summer 2012 and I can't come in to my mail, or I come in but I can just look at my old ones, my new doesn't come and I can't send mails either. I just get this message "Mail can not connect to your account "Hotmail" " then I get to write my password and then the message comes again. But I came in before but now it doesn't work.
When I go in to account settings and look at the setting Server, outgoing e-mail (SMTP) it stands " Hotmail (offline) ".
Can someone please help me? What am I going to do?

You could just try changing your Input Sources under System Preferences>Language & Text:
But I kind of doubt that's going to work. It may be a hardware problem or a system problem. If you take it into Apple they might be able to determine which and might advise a reinstallation of System software. I would take it to an Apple Store or an AASP but, first, make sure that you have a backup just in case they suggest a clean install of the system.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
