ELPH 330 HS or the ELPH 340 HS

I am looking for a camera outside my cellphone Looking for something that is midrange in price as well as quality of the pictures and that is where I found the ELPH 330 HS. All thr reviews and video's I have read/watched have been nothing but good responses. So I was going to purchase the 330 HS but saw in March there is the 340 coming out. Spec wise they are different the 340 has more zoom/mega pixels. Doing a side by side comparison here I did notice and don't know if this makes a big difference the 340 has a Digic 4 processor and the 330 has a 5.
I am confused as to which one is better. Part of me says go with the 330 HS.

Unlike still images, video will always record with the long side along the bottom and the short side vertical. To rotate a video, you will need to use video editing software.

Does the G71-340 US Notebook Have TWO Hard Drive Bays

My mother has the laptop mentioned in this subject line. She's got all kinds of issues going on with it. Runs slowly. Hangs. Shuts off randomly. I've run every virus scan and malware scan known to man and it's found nothing. It's either something that's on the hard drive that just isn't being detected and the only solution is to reformat the drive and reinstall everything from scratch or it's a hardware issue. I'm thinking of installing an SSD as the primary drive for speed improvement and reformatting the original drive that's in there right now and installing that as a secondary drive, *IF* this laptop has the ability to house 2 hard drives. Anyone know the answer to this 2nd hard drive bay question off the top of their head for this specific laptop? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this is not one of the models with the extra hard disk bay. So the answer is no. Consider an external usb hard disk or a NAS.
Installing an SSD as a replacement for the original hard disk is the way to go. Use the largest that you can afford and run a factory image recovery from the recovery disk set.

Elph 330 WiFi vs 340 WiFi

I am considering buying a 330 and WiFi is very important to me. I read that it was improved on the 340 which I believe is photographically inferior. What's the difference re the WiFi? Thanks.

Since the 340 is easier to connect per the Canon person and the rest is similar for wifi functions personally I would go with the 340 because of the added zoom 12X vs 10X, more mega pixels 16MP vs 12MP, 1/3 the shutter lag .05s vs .15s, more lines per picture height 2265 vs 2069. The 330 had a max ISO of 6400 which is twice as fast as the newer 340 with a max ISO of 3200...for me that would not steer me to the 330 though and it would be to grainy in most cases to use that high an ISO of 6400. The 340 has 3 video resolution levels with an added 480p which is good for emailing whereas the 330 only has the two, 1080p and 720p. The prices are pretty close also..like I said Id go with the 340 but hold off if you can others may chime in too with some advice for you.

Elph 330 Continuous Shooting Mode

I decided to finally try out the continuous shooting mode on my Elph 330, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it's supposed to do. From the manual, it sounds like I should be able to hold the shutter button down and the camera will continuously snap pictures, but no matter what I try it just takes a single picture. I'm sure I have the mode set to continuous, and per the manual I don't have any settings on that conflict with continuous shooting. Am I misunderstanding the purpose of the continuous shooting mode? Or is there some other secret that isn't in the manual?

Yes, that's the intent of continuous shooting; you hold down the button and it takes multiple shots. It's possible that certain shooting modes don't allow continuous shooting. I'd assume it has a sports mode, try that to see if it works.

Satellite M70-340: I cannot see the DVD schort cut menu after reinstallation

I just recently bought Toshiba M70-340 2 weeks ago. Now I learn that there is better Toshiba comparing the my one.
My question is I cannot see on the screen the DVD schort cut menu. First time when I opened it it was on the rıght handside
of screen and my machine was Turkish Win XP Home edition. Than I reformat and change into English version of WinXP that comes with in Toshiba recovery CD. But I lost the screen menu for DVD I guess. Now ı don't know how to re-install that option.
Plus my machine is use the Intel Centrino 1.7 but I am not sure if this is a dual proccess. Secondly the ram is 512MB and I am trying to buy 2GB extened ram but seems still very very expensive (around $1100) Why is that 2GB ram so expensive?
I am using my laptop for software engineering as well as using Macromedia flash and Adobe Photoshop.
The both application and MS VS.NET 2005 as well as SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 application are very slow and sometime it takes more than 30
min. to compile or open it.
I have my home PC P4 3.2G with 1GB ram and it's faster than my Toshibe laptop.
Please be patien with me, after a 5 years later I bought my second laptop and first one was notebook from another manufacture.
I search in the internet and I find the M70-340 with Turkish Q type keyboard was the best option and it cost me $1450.
All I need how to overcome my problem and I need someone from Toshiba to explained to me carefully.
Can someone read my post and answer my question and worries?

I dont want to disappoint you but please dont expect someone from Toshiba will write to you because this is user-to-user forum. I will try to write some comments because I have the same unit as you.
This DVD shortcut is really not understandable for me and I really dont know what you are writing about. If the DVD drive is recognized and installed properly it should be listed in device manager and also shown in Windows explorer. If you want to discus about it please describe exact status of DVD drive in device manager and Windows explorer.
You are right about memory. This notebook is delivered with 512 MB Ram. According the notebook specification it can handle max with 2GB of Ram and if you want to use max please use 2x1GB module. Compatible one is DDR2-400/533 1GB (PA3411U-1M1G).
2GB modules are the newest and everything new is very expensive. I dont know how much it can costs but definitely not around $1100. For this money you can buy the whole notebook.
The list of used software is impressive and I am not wondering if the notebook runs slow. Upgrade it to max Ram and it will be much faster. Please dont compare your desktop with this mobile unit.
Pick up info how much costs PA3411U-1M1G memory module and use two of them for max RAM. You will see that unit will run faster and I hope you will be satisfied with performance.

Why Canon discontinue the 330HS?

I have the Canon 330HS and I have to say it is one amazing little camera. It's the first camera I've used since the days of the A620 & A720IS that produces crisp, sharp images in the full frame, and it's performance at higher ISO's continues to impress me. But I was dismayed to see Canon has discontinued the 330 (just like those great older cams) and offerred a replacement that is inferior.
I registered here to "sound off" on why Canon went in this direction. I recently read some reviews of the new 340HS that replaced it as well as used it in stores, and the image quality is a huge step down from the 330. Going from 12mp to 16mp has surely added more noise, and the base ISO starts at 100 instead of a cleaner 80. Also, unlike the 330, the 340 cannot shoot slow motion video (120fps/240fps). The lens is much slower, and not as sharp. And instead of the stereo mics on the 330, the 340 has a mono one of lower quality. And lastly it has a smaller battery.
I understand the need to "upgrade" offerings, but this is a downgrade. Surely you could've made the 330's successor better by adding a touch focus and using the newer Digic 6 processor (instead of going backwards by using a 4+).
I've been a Canon Powershot user for many years, and have seen the offerings for the lower end models shrink, but not everybody can afford or want an S120 (the S120 doesn't have the zoom that the 330 does), and the sx280 & sx700 aren't as pocketable. It's a shame we have less choices now. I'm just glad I got my 330HS when it was on sale for $129.99, now most places are out of stock and the ones that do are charging north of $200. It's obvious the 330HS was a good seller, so why did you have to ruin a good thing Canon?

IF ELSE Statement in BEx Query based on the results

I want to realize the following IF/ELSE statement in a BEx Query in respect to the result values
If the result of KF1 equals 0, than set the KF2 to 0, Else (KF1 NE 0) show the value of KF2
Background: I want to report the order backlog. In the example above we have an incoming order value of 23.700,80 EUR in periode 12.2013 and an turnover of 22.370,80 EUR in periode 01.2014. The order backlog in ST (KF1) is 1 ST (12.2013) - 1 ST (01.2014) = 0 ST. The order backlog in EUR (KF2) is 23.700,80 EUR (12.2013) - 22.370,80 EUR (01.2014) = 1.330 EUR. The Order and Invoice is finished, but we have an positive order backlog in EUR (reason: less turnover as incoming order).
For this case I want to realize the IF/Else statement to check if the oder backlog in ST = 0, if yes, than set the order backlog in EUR also to 0.
Any best practices?

I have tried your proposal before you have posted it.
In my special case the following if/else statement works successfully:
CKF = calculated key figure
Formula1 = (CKF1 == 0) * 0 + (CKF1 <> 0) * CKF2
In my case the CKF2 is the result value from "Incoming Order value" - "Turnover"
So I had to define a separate Formula (1:1 equals to CKF2) and then I was able to set "*CKF2" in the statement.
The statement CKF2 = (CKF1 == 0) * 0 + CKF2 is not possible (because it´s not possible to calculate from CKF2 itself).
Now it works

From 2011 we have to change the parametrization for the presentation to the Spanish tax authorities for the MODELO 340 (RFIDESM340)
In our company we decided to create new tax codes for 2011, 3 Tax codes of acquisitions of goods/svs, to their proper value in the EU. Code (5, 7 or 8)
One of the requirements its that all operations related to these 3 new indicators have to drag operation key "I" (Latin capital letter I), indicating that they are a operating reverse charge invoice.
What i have done, its to inform in transaction FTXP, the new tax codes with
a.ESA Acquisition Tax Cred at 18%
ESE Acquisition Tax Deb. 18%
b. Do not define the line of 0% VST, since they no longer should appear the supplier's invoice without the VAT
and Exclude VAT charged line of Model 340, excluding in the transaction lor the GL account at TCODE_RFIDESM340 - TRANSACTION CODE FOR RFIDESM340
but still, i get the report with the operation key in blank, can you please tell me if i am missing somethig?

How to enable the use of multiple cuda devices in Adobe AE?

I had nvidia gtx 690 and nvidia gtx 760. They were both seen by the driver 340.52 and there was checkmark "use multiple GPU devices". Adobe AE CC 2014 when rendering was recognizing and using both GPU devices. Then I replaced the gtx 690 with gtx 780Ti as a primary device. The driver does not show the option allowing to use multiple gpu devices and in the preferences of AE Only the 780 ti is shown. When rendering only this graphic card works. My question is how to employ both GPU's 760 & 780 ti into rendering as it was the case with gtx 760 & 690?

DMP 340 with ELO 1919L Touch screen

We bought an ELO Touchscreen 1919L to integrate with the DMP 340, but i have 0 experience with Linux so i can't install the drivers on the DMP 340, anyone have some instructions apart of the ELO Website? i'm kind of lost.
I connected the DMP to the Touch screen with the USB cable, Linux has recognized immediatly without drivers, but only works the click, i can't move the cursor with my finger.

If there are any Touch-Base or UPDD icons or shortcuts on the desktop, make sure you remove them before downloading this driver.The downloaded file on your desktop must be named "setup". Sennheiser PC 330 Mic Not Recognized

I recently acquired a Sennheiser PC 330 headset. The headphones work beautifully, but the microphone is not recognized. I don't mean it's not hearing me, I mean that if I go into System Preferences > Sound > Input it is not listed, only the internal microphone and soundflower are listed. I should note that this headset has two cords, one for mic and one for audio, but my iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) has only one input supposedly for both. The audio works when I plug it in, but the mic has the above issue when I plug the mic cord in. Likewise, when I use an adapter to plug both in, the audio works but the mic does not.
How can I make my iMac recognize the Sennheiser's microphone?

you are right the 3.5mm audio jack is a combined one for headphone and microphone. Every iPhone headset should work fine. Pluging in only the mic cord won´t work. Wrong connector placement. I tried a cord adaptor für. 4 pole 3.5mm to 2 3.5mm 3 pole jacks. But the external microphone wasn´t recognized.
I have no solution to this. Some tell they have luck with such an apdator some not. I suppose it depends on the used headset.

how do I have to customize to get this information in the 340?

Key D u2013 Correction invoice
The correction invoices are updated in the Model 340 with the key D. In order to be identified
is necessary used or a document type or a tax indicator or both. The normal use is a document type
because the correction invoices must have a range and this is achieved in SAP using a document
type different form the one used in the invoices.
The invoices and the tickets must have the operation key A and B (see that part) due to it is
not possible to use a key different because the third party could not be identified and also because it
makes no sense a correction invoice from a summary posting (yes for individual postings).
If you want that the reversal documents will be considered as correction invoices is necessary
customized the document type with a document type different than the original one and included this
class in the operation key table with key u201CDu201D.

DMP edge 340 going into sleep or soft off mode

Is there any information available on what might cause an Edge 340 to go into sleep or soft off mode, and how to recover them, short of power cycling?

Wake on LAN should bring it out of sleep mode. It needs to be enabled on the Edge 340 dmp.
Take a look at the bug below. It doesn't reference sleep mode, but it does reference no output.

Nokia 330 video encoding

Hi I'm looking to find out what settings i should use in Windows media encoder in order for my nokia 330 to play the videos, i have no problem with it playing mpg files but avi ( a supposed) supported format i havent had one file play. I read on the forums using windows media encoder can fix this , and i would greatly appreciate help

sadly the only info i could dig up from the users manual is that it can play these containers: mpeg-4, wmv, asf, mpg, and avi and it just states that : "the application does not necessarily support all the variations of these formats."

Well i am bored so about the windows media encoder i can't help u but try to play one of those if it plays well u know what codec it can handle ( the quality doesn't matter since it's 704*400 resolution @ random fps and bitrate. hope the size is not a problem, i think most 320*240 phones can't handle above 640*320 resolution but urs has a 3.5 screen....)
