Elster Hotfix PL 07 - hoehere Version Addonframework existiert.

After installing Hot fix for ELSTER (Note 1392542 - Wrong value of Total (field 83)) the rest of add-ons in the earlier version do not work.
This issue is related to a higher version of the addon framework BFFramework.dll installed in C:\Windows\System32
and is caused because the hotfix, when installed in the machine will upgrade the file BFFramework.dll to the patch 08.
In order to solve the issue, please do the following on the machine affected:
1-     Go to C:\Windows\System32:
2-     Locate the file BFFramework.dll and right click (properties), you will see that that in the version tab, under File version it says 8.00.01.08 (which is the version of the add-on hotfix).
3-     Change the name of file BFFramework.dll, I.E: BFFramework_OLD.dll
4-     Back up database.
5-     Open Business One.
6-     In upper Menu -> Tools -> User Defined Windows, locate the form BFEXTDBVERSION.
7-     Delete all the records in which the field BD Tables version = 8.00.01.08 is shown in the same row that the Extension ID that identifies the Add-on is not BE (Elster) and also the rows with Extension ID BF (Framework) that preceeds each of them. Again except the one that precedes BE (Elster).
8-     Now start the Add-ons.
9-     Check at the end the form BFEXTDBVERSION to confirm that for the affected add-ons and its respective BF(Framework) the BD Tables Version has returned to 8.00.01.07. Except for the rows related to ELSTER.

hi sirwilly, this addon is a genuine part of firefox and used by mozilla to deliver certain small hotfixes to firefox installations. it is cryptographically signed by mozilla so it cannot be altered or misused by other parties...
this hotfix in particular fixes bug #1110307 and #1113222...

Kann mir jemand bestätigen, dass es (mal wieder) eine neue Version des Elster Telemoduls gegeben hat?
Das Programm "Elster Formular" will auf die Version 12.2.1.6570u updaten.
Beim Versuch, aus SBO heraus eine Elster-Meldung zu übertragen, kommt die Fehlermeldung "Die Steuerdaten wurden NICHT an die Steuerverwaltung übertragen ! Übertragungsfehler 190039111: Fehler bei der Mindestversionsprüfung".
Getestet mit dem Elster AddOn SBO 2007 Version 8.00.01.15

Und für 2007:
"In 2007A PL15 die vorhandene Version des Elster Add-ons ist nicht aktualisiert. Es kann beim ausführen des Elster Reports zu Fehlermeldungen kommen."

Hotfix 2919357 on Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 for Exchange 11.0.727.0

I currently have FF for Exhange 2010 version 11.0.727.0, but I have event ID errors 5314, 7009 and 7011. the question is, the version of files content in zip file of hotfix have the same versions of files on my productive environment on my exchange
servers, Do I must install this hotfix in same versions of files to try to solve these errors?

Hi,
The article KB2919357 indicated that this fix is ONLY viable on the latest FPE build which is 11.0.0727.0.
If you want to fix the issue and have the exactly same errors in the article, you need to install this hotfix.

Only certain components of the client are updated to 5.00.7958.1203, the rest will remain unchanged. If you are looking for a client version change via the Console then a Data Discovery Cycle needs to occur before the client version is reported back to the
Configuration Manager Database.
I have seen in my own environment where at times the CU1 update hasn't been applied successfully. Re-running the client update package has resolved this for me in all cases. If I want to confirm if the update has been successful immediately after it has
run, I usually just check if the file date has changed for the file tscore.dll (in c:\windows\ccm). I'm sure there are many other ways, its just been a easy one for me to use. You could also check /monitor the CU1 installation log which is created in c:\Windows\temp,
I can't remember that actual log file name but its named after the msp file.
Also - you don't need to apply both these updates. CU1 for R2 contains the hotfix that was released in KB2905002. So if you already have SCCM 2012 R2 then just CU1 is optional.
However, having said that, if you have already setup deployments and collections etc then it may be to late I guess to bother changing anything depending on the size of your environment or if you are just doing this in a lab.

The primary database has its transaction log file (.ldf) stored on a disk that has "Bytes per Physical Sector" set as 512 bytes.
You take the transaction log backups of this database, and then you try to restore it by using the standby option on the secondary database.
The secondary database transaction log file (.ldf) is located on a VHDX disk that has "Bytes per Physical Sector" set as 4,096 bytes.
In this scenario, the restore operation fails and returns the following error message:
Error: 9004, Severity: 16, State: 6.
An error occurred while processing the log for database '<databasename>'. If possible, restore from backup. If a backup is not available, it might be necessary to rebuild the log.
After this error occurs, the secondary database goes into a suspect state.
So restore from Generation1 to Generation2 machine ( where only VHDX disk is possible ) always fails and database is not accessible.

IIS7 + CF8: 5+ second delays returning content to browser

Howdy --
I've got a mystery. I've been putting together this production server for a while and once I started moving sites over to it, I found that some sites were experiencing unacceptably long delays when rendering pages. Some sites were not. Here are the interesting bits:
Whenever a site experiences delays, normally all pages are affected. HTML pages are not affected.
Whenever a page is affected, the delay is normally 5 seconds, but sometimes is a MULTIPLE of 5 (I've seen 10, 15, and 20s delays), but never anywhere in the middle. A page's delay may normally be 5s, but if you reload it there's a chance it'll hit 10s for no reason at all.
I recently put together a page on a site which was experiencing delays, but the page itself was fine UNTIL I moved a <cfparam> tag to the top of the page. At that point, the page was delayed 5 seconds. When I moved it down farther in the page to where it would still execute but not be the first thing executed, the delay disappeared once again.
If I'm debugging a page and there's a compiler error, there is no delay before the server returns the compiler error.
The delay seems to be related to the amount of information returned from queries to a database.
My latest test has been to figure out how much data I can return from a database query without it causing a delay. At one point the query that returned 105 characters of information over two fields did NOT cause a delay, and if I returned 106 characters, it induced a 5 second delay. This was repeatable for about 20 minutes, until I went to make dinner. When I came back, it changed and the delay was always present. I reduced the number of characters returned further, to 54 over the same two fields, and the delay disappeared. I then tried querying on a single field, and was able to return up to 110 characters (sometimes only 109) without the 5s delay, but 111 characters would cause the delay. This particular field is in a SQL Server 2005 database defined as nvarchar(1500). My current test code contains just 5 lines, and I've been modifying the 2nd parameter of left():

Also: the cfdump shows the EXECUTIONTIME value. When there is no delay, this value is 0. When there is a delay, it runs between 5100 and 5300ms. At the same time as I'm doing this testing, I'm running a trace on my SQL Server, and each and every query shows a duration of 0, regardless of whether or not a delay is expressed by CF (or IIS, or whatever's causing it).
I'm running CF 8.0.1.195765 Standard Edition with Cumulative Hot Fix 4 and hotfix hf801-71557, Java version 1.6.0_04 on Windows Server 2008 SP2 Standard x86. I've also tried looking at the IIS Failed Request Tracing -- I can set a rule that says for it to trigger an event if a page runs longer than 4s, and it does trigger, but it only records events at the beginning of the request; nothing at the end of the request accounts for the delay. For example, if I start a request at 9:00:00, it will record events at 9:00:00.xxx, but not at 9:00:05.xxx when it says the event stopped. This makes me think that whatever it is happens after IIS hands off the request to CF. I've also tried packet inspection between the web server and the database server, and see no dropped packets or delays in that communication.
What can I do here to figure out where this delay is coming from? Thank you so much for your thoughts on this matter.

Very quick thought after a quick skim-read between coffees - have you turned on all the CF debugging options? The Request Debugger often gives you more info than the query executiontimes.

I've since installed SP2 (oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe) on the server. I've again tried to install ubersrv2010-kb2817527-fullfile-x64-glb.exe, but still getting "The expected version of the product was not found on the system."
Any further suggestions/instruction?

Migration Wizard throws exception on launch

PTPortal v5.0.1, After installation of the Exchange Integration Portlet suite, when I tried to launch the migration wizard to import the server packages (PTE's), I received the following java exception:
Exception in thread main java.lang.UnsatisifiedLinkError: getDefaultPixelDImpl
at com.plumtree.migrationtool.PTMigration.main (PTMigration.java:34)
I assume that there was something triggered by the Exchange install, since I've been using the migration wizard with no problems. I can still run ptMigration from the command line, but it dies due to missing dependencies within the Exchange PTE file.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is on the PT Server itself, and I've only installed the PT jre's. I did notice that there are 2 different JRE folders within the PT installation directory. I'm not sure which software put them there (i.e., PT obviously put one, but did Exchange portlet suite or a PT Hotfix install a newer version?)
Not sure what would cause this to break all of a sudden.
Any suggestions are appreciated! :)

Win 7 update "slow performance" relating to the font cache

For those of you having font, slow print and/or PDF problems on Win 7 (or Win2008 Server), both x86 and x64:
I just came across an MS support posting about a hotfix that might *** emphasis MIGHT *** be of interest to you.
The specific reason is that the hotfix includes an update to our old friend "fntcache.dll" that FM definitely does use.
Disclaimer: I am not an Adobe representative. I do not speak for Adobe. I have no specific knowledge whether this might indeed affect FM or of which version(s) of FM it might apply to. I have not tested this myself. If you install this hotfix you are completely on your own. As always, please ensure you have adequate backups.
IMPORTANT NOTE: please do take notice of the "Known Issue" section in the description, saying "After you install ... a second hotfix for an updated version of another driver may be necessary".
If any of you do test this, would you kindly post back here with your results either way.

Adobe applications do not use the interface for which specified hot fix is designated for. It may fix Internet Explorer 9 printing, but not any printing or PDF creation from FrameMaker or any other Adobe applications.

I have seen similar stuff. Typically what I do is go to a different computer that has crystal on it and try it and voila it works. Maybe try to upgrade hotfixes. or try later version of crystal? use the one in visual studio if you got it?

Double-byte support in Captive 5

I am currently creating multiple choice exams in Captivate 5 (CP5) and here is my problem. When I paste in the translated text (localized into Chinese-Simplified) from either MS-Word, Excel or Notepad into the question and answer fields in the CP5 Question slide, CP5 is substituting some of the Chinese characters with boxes. I paste the same information into Notepad on my windows 7 PC and everything is OK.
Does CP5 fully or partially support Double-Byte text? If it does, what could I be doing wrong or missing in the way of a service pack or hotfix? My Captivate version is - 5.0.1.624.

Assuming you are using the same double byte character set as your db character set, then the answer is yes. Check out this table in the 9i Database Globalization Support Guide, for more info.

Acrobat 8.1.2 on Vista Home Prem. SP1 - Adobe Printer Failure

I've searched these forum for a similar case but I've been unable to find a fix.
I had to uninstall and reinstall this Acrobat Standard 8.1.2 on a system with Vista Home Premium (32bit). I could not print to the Adobe printer from Outlook Express, MS Publisher, Internet Explorer until I disabled UAC. With UAC disabled it works fine. This program was working fine before I had to reinstall it. Do you know if there is a MS Hotfix to fix this version of Windows? I see references to the 64bit version. Any help would be appreciated. Apologies if this has already been addresses.

OK, here is a new twist. I had a problem with a program called Blood Pleasure Tracker by Soundtells. I lost a year of data. Note sure what happened but I decided to restore to a point yesterday that was just before installing installing Adobe Acrobat the last time hoping I would get the data back. I thought there might be trouble with Adobe after restoring to this point so I did another install and then did an Uninstall with a program called REVO Uninstaller. (REVO Uninstaller was reviewed in PC World). I used it to get a clean uninstall. When I reinstalled Acrobat and the 8.1.2 update everything worked! Acrotray was still running. UAC was also reactivated. The one thing that I think made a big difference is the REVO Uninstaller has several option to more toughly do a clean uninstall. I used the medium selection. It listed some registry entries that it thought could be deleted. I don't like messing with the registry so I declined that option. It also scanned and listed a bunch of files that were left in the Adobe directory. I made the selection to delete those. I wonder if there was something in those files that doesn't get written over on the install but can cause the problem I was having with the printer. Everything worked after that. <br /><br />It should be noted that I had no problems with Acrobat AA8.1.2 until I did an uninstall via the control panel and they tried to do an install. I did the uninstall because It started showing the registration screen each time I brought it up even though I had registered it. I think Registry First Aid caused that little problem. Importing smart card certificates

Has anyone run into any issues similar, where you cannot import the smart card certificates into the BlackBerry?
Users have T-Mobile 8700g and the RIM Bluetooth smart card reader.
We are able to pair the BB and the Reader.
But we are stuck at the point where we import the user's smart card certificates. This is affecting multiple users. Users who have already imported their smart card certificates are working fine.
The error displayed on the BlackBerry is "Error communicating with the smart card".
The display on the reader is either "On C" (v1.0 reader drivers/software) or "On I" (v1.5.1 reader drivers/software).
We have tried wiping both the handheld and the reader and starting from scratch. S/MIME and reader drivers are installed on the BlackBerry.
We have tried using OS 4.1 and 4.2 on the 8700s. As well as reader drivers/software v1.0 and 1.5.1.
We have tested using different IT Policies, including completely unrestricted.
Not sure if this problem is specific to this model.

There's a new CAC version out. (144k). Does anyone knows if there is a hotfix for the new version? We are having problems getting the reader to recognize the new CAC. When we try to sign a message on the blackberry, we keep getting the error message "Error Communicating with the Smart Card". We searched on Google and we found this hotfix and installed. It didn't work. I assume it was for CAC 72k and not 144k.

Blackberry Smart Card Reader v4.2
