EM 12C: Fails to detect database related targets
Hi
I have been trying to add database target on a remote host but fails to detect it as its looking into a wrong ORACLE_HOME directory how can I make it to look into the right ORACLE_HOME,
the ORACLE_HOME is already defined in .bash_profile however its reading GRID_HOME as ORACLE_HOME and fails to detect database and related targets, I have already added the cluster target and want to add database related targets for the RAC.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Terry
Terry,
Have a look at support bulletin "Understanding Database Discovery in Enterprise Manager 12cCloud Control [ID 1400463.1]". The oracle home location is pulled from oratab which the agent needs access to ( see section "Has the database been discovered" ) for details.
Let us know if the resolves your issue.
Regards,
Dave

"Failed to load database information" error
I know there are many threads on this error, but none appear to apply to my situation. We distribute CR2008 reports with our C#.NET application, connecting to a SQL Server 2005 db . We have had very few problems with our reports, with the exception of one customer.
The customer has five installations of our software, all on WinXP 32-bit machines, all connecting to the same SQL Server 2005 database, and all pulling their report files from the same shared network location. Four of the five machines can run reports just fine. The fifth machine pops this error on every report:
Exception Source: rptcontrollers.dll
Exception Type: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException
Exception Message: Failed to load database information.
Error in File Job Info {FC802C7B-B9AD-4121-8D9E-81E3A405A6DC}.rpt:
Failed to load database information.
Here is the code that launches the report:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument report = new ReportDocument();
report.Load("C:\\Repository\\Job Info.Rpt");
// Setup the Crystal ConnectionInfo
IConnectionInfo iConnectionInfo = report.DataSourceConnections[0];
SqlConnectionStringBuilder csBuilder = new SqlConnectionStringBuilder(AppSettings.ConnectionString);
iConnectionInfo.SetConnection(csBuilder.DataSource, csBuilder.InitialCatalog, csBuilder.UserID, csBuilder.Password);
foreach (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table table in report.Database.Tables)
TableLogOnInfo tableLogonInfo = table.LogOnInfo;
// Need to set the password here as well
table.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = csBuilder.Password;
// If this is SQL 2008, fix the provider
if (AppSettings.SQLServerVersion == 10)
table.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.LogonProperties.Set("Provider", "SQLNCLI10");
table.ApplyLogOnInfo(tableLogonInfo);
table.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = csBuilder.Password;
new ReportViewerDialog(reportDocument).ShowDialog(this);
We have done the following:
1. We have uninstalled and re-installed the CR2008 MSI on that machine, with no change.
2. We have confirmed that the machine has full access to the directory where the reports are located.
3. We have confirmed that the machine is set to the same default printer as the working machines, and can print to it.
4. We have confirmed that the app itself has full functionality apart from the reports.
5. We have confirmed that SQL Native Client is installed.
6. The customer is not aware of any other unusual behavior on that machine (though our support tech did note unusually long reboot times).
I'm out of ideas at this point. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very appreciative.
Ron Moses
ConEst Software Systems> Use Modules.
We do use merge modules in our install, but we know of no other way to uninstall/re-install Crystal than using the MSI.
> Then compare the lists between working and none working Reports and PC's.
No reports work on the one PC, all reports work on the other four.
> Also, the SQLNCLI10.dll is for MS SQL Server 2008 and I doubt it should be used with SQL 2005. Set log on info and use the SQL Native client SQLNCLI.dll driver. Could also be related to that client engine causing the delays.
The code only uses the 2008 DLL if it detects that the db is 2008, otherwise it uses the 2005 dll. We officially support 2005, and include 2005 Express in our install, but we do have a small number of users who are already running their own 2008 instances, so we include this code to support them.

[SOLVED] mkarchiso: ERROR: failed to detect root filesystem
hi guys!
i am now trying to build my own live archlinux distribution with archiso and with the command "mkarchiso"
at the first step in installing the base when it installs linux and execute "mkinitcpio" it shows me this error:

i continue the process with that error and in the "run" step i did this command
# mkarchiso -w work/x86_64/ -r mkinitcpio -p linux run
[root@fuhrer livecd]# mkarchiso -w work/x86_64/ -r mkinitcpio -p linux run

and the big problem shows when i build the iso file and "dd" it to USB disk, when i choose to boot the live archlinux it tell me
ERROR: failed to detect root filesystem
and that you cannot log to tty
any suggestions?

Do not worry about the mkinitcpio error, because such initramfs images should not be used for boot live medium. You can see that profiles uses own mkinitcpio.conf with at least archiso hook
Running mkarchiso directly is not the right way, at least if you do not know how things works.

Hi!
I'm using consume adapter service> sqlbinding > to connect to sql database in order to generate sql schemas.
I'm getting below error:
Connecting to the LOB system has failed.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:
SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified).
ChristianeHi,
As suggested earlier this seems to be a DTC related issue. It can only occur if the DTC settings are not proper or if firewalls don't allow the default ports to communicate.
Check DTC settings on both SQL and BizTalk Box and also check if MSDTC service is up and running.
Go to Start
à Run
à (type in) Dcomcnfg. You should be inside Component Services MMC.
Expand Component Services
à Computers
à My Computer (right click)
à Properties
à MSDTC tab
à Security Configuration button.
Select the checkboxes as following :
Check the below article from Microsoft Support Team, they have listed all the errors which may come during setting up a new system. They also have your MSDTC error listed.
Resolving the issues you may face during BizTalk Runtime Configuration

Windows Install fails to detect VSTO 4.0 in Windows machine
I’ve to install excel based application developed in VS 2010.
Windows installer fails while detecting VSTO in Windows 7/8/8.1. Its perquisites are .Net framework 4.0 client frame work and VSTO 4.0.
Even we have installed VSTO manually and re-run our setup and again we are getting the same error (“Installer was not able to automatically download the VSTO installation”), the custom message. Don’t know what is blocking to detect VSTO on some particular
machine. I'm using only this condition "VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" as in Launch Conditions from last 3 years.
Now from last couple of months I'm getting this error when instating my application, somehow when I add another condition i.e. VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" OR OFFICERUNTIME>=”10.0.21022”, it works properly.
I want to know that is there any windows patch is released due to which my installer is not able to detect VSTO in machine.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Utshek Jain> Is VSTO Runtime detection depends on full edition of .NET framework?
I have never seen the client profile mentioned in MSDN. For example, take a look at the

Failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm
Hi,
We run our intranet on a virtual server. the other day it crashed and we restored it from a previous point
However when we launch the intranet we just get a an unexpected error has occurred. I am able to get into central admin but that's about it
I though of maybe running the product config wizard but it get an error saying "failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm. Possible reasons for this failure could be that you no longer have the appropriate permissions to the server
farm, the database server hosting the server farm is in responsive, the configuration database is inaccessible or this server has been removed from the server farm"
this is what the logs it tell you to look in says:01/30/2014 10:03:01 1 INF Leaving function StringResourceManager.GetResourceString

Hi All,
We've been running CR for VS2010 for a number of years in our web app without any issues. Using the same code we recently upgraded our application to support x64 and we have run into this error on our QA servers:
Failed to load database information. Error in File ReportName{Guid}.rpt. Failed to load database information.
Here's are server setup:
Windows Server 2012 Datacenter x64
SAP Crystal Reports Runtime Engine for .Net Framework (64-bit)
IIS 8
Database Server
Oracle 12c
Interestingly, Crystal Reports works fine on our dev machines and it also works on our dev machines if I connect to the QA Database server directly. So I've ruled out any Oracle issues.
I believe the permissions are set up correctly for CR to run, but I'd like to know what permission CR needs to run. I can't find a definite answer reading the forum posts or on the WIKI.
I've used Process Monitor and there seems to be some permission issues with the uf12manager.DLL. See attached document.
I'm really stuck here and any help is appreciated.
Thanks!Nothing to do with UFL manager, that may be a missing dependency.
Search on a kbase on how to enable crlogger, that may tell you what is failing.
Typical Oracle issues on a 64 bit app is I believe you need to install the Oracle 64 bit Client and then 32 bit client.
Do we support Oracle 12? No we don't...
See this PAM for more info:

Crystal reports 2010:Failed to load database information
Hi guys,
I had a vb.net project with crystal reports 2010 for the reporting.The report works fine inside vs 2010.I tried to build an installer for my project using 'Advanced installer'. In Advanced installer there's an option to import the run time engine for crystal reports for .net framework 4.0 which is 'CR Run time 64bit 13_0_1' but since my system and other target systems are 32 bit,I figured to also import the 32-bit version.
But first when i followed the path for the package there was nothing so i downloaded both 32 and 64 bit run time engine then located them i that path.
Just for the information,when i installed crystal reports on my PC,i think it installed 'Crystal Reports for visual studio'
So i built the installer and installed it on my PC but when it try to view the report it crashes.I also try to install it on another PC and it throws this exception:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.DataSourceException: Failed to load database information.
Error in File CrystalReport6 {566E2F0C-8C45-4647-8017-15BD6DB1F195}.rpt:
Failed to load database information. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Failed to load database information.
Error in File CrystalReport6 {566E2F0C-8C45-4647-8017-15BD6DB1F195}.rpt:
Failed to load database information.

at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.SetDataSourceInternal(Object val, Type type)
What am i missing?You have two distinct issue here - one on your dev computer and an unrelated on on the deployed computer.
First your deployment project.
You have to decide how you want to compile the app; 32 bit, or 64 bit?
For 32 bit app, use the 32 bit msm file
For 64 bit app use the 64 bit msm file
Next, you are using Service Pack 1, current SP is #9, so update both your CRVS install (using the install exe) and the deployment project with the correct msm. Links to the msm files and the install exe are in this doc:
SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio: Updates & Runtime Downloads
Once you have SP 9 installed, recompile your app making sure it still runs. Then build your deployment project and deploy. See what happens then...

Active Manager failed to mount database Mailbox Database?
So we had our stuff working fine with exchange 2010 rc and 08 r2 rtm... We installed antivirus on our server and now get the below message.... Everything "seems" to work though... We get two of these messages per reboot though... one with the main box database and one for the public folder one....
Again all seems to work okay, we have tried to remove AV but didnt fix.
Any suggestions?

Hi All,
When i open the page, i can see an option called "Drag and Relate Targets" What is the functionality behind it? How can it be acheived? Can anyone please help me out in this?
Regards,
DivyaHi Divya,
Drag&Relate targets are iViews that possess drag-on capabilities and have been associated to a page or iView containing draggable data in the form of links. They can retrieve from a database source information that is related to the information that is dragged onto it.
Advantage:-
Drag&Relate targets offer the possibility of a relation-resolving process that connects information from independent systems.
Drag&Relate means that when you click an iView, you launch a request that returns information. If that iView is defined as a Drag&Relate target, then when a link from another iView is dragged onto it, the launched request is modified by the additional dragged content. The dragged content acts as conditions that filter the data which is returned by the Drag&Relate target iView.
For example, a user dragging a part number from an asset management system iView onto a geographical information system iView that is a Drag&Relate target, could map all installations of a certain type of equipment at a particular site.
To enable Drag and Relate option go through this link:-
[Enable Drag & Relate|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/f4/ab28b916cdce4b8af82c748e13f867/content.htm]

Lenovo Thinkpad W500, Intel (R), Windows 7, SP1, latest updates as of Oct 15
(1) Checked Setting, set to automatic update whenever, even changed to never update, rebooted the OS and changed back to automatic update and rebooted the OS.
(2) Stopped Windows Update Services, renamed SoftwareDistribution folder and started the window update services and rebooted.
(3) Ran MS FIXIT
(4) Ran System File checker Scan (sfc /scannow)
(5) Ran CHKDSK /F
(6) Installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers from Lenovo site
(7) Ran Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB971033)
None of the above possible recommended solutions were able to fix the issue yet and now I am getting a message your Window is Not Genuine!
Any help or guidance is appreciated.
Solved!
Go to Solution.The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!

We have the CPU set to x86 as we are ultimately trying to generate a 32 bit app for XP and Win 7. We only installed the 32 bit run time on this pc because we have no intention of going to 64 bit apps on the clients. Are there additional dlls or something that has to be installed in the same folder as the exe on this development machine.
BruceLooking at the AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_myprograminfo led us to the last dll loaded being:
LoadedModule[211]=C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\crdb_adoplus_res_en.dll
State[0].Key=Transport.DoneStage1
State[0].Value=1
FriendlyEventName=Stopped working
Scanning the community for "crdb_adoplus_res_en.dll" we got a hot on this issue again:
Failed to load database information. Error in File temp_
From the above we found this:
1. the app.exe.config is all in one package which cannot be separated with the EXE file.
2. the supporting component such as dll files, app.exe.config etc CANNOT be combined into the EXE file
Adding the cr3Test.exe.config to the same folder as the cr3Test.exe RESOLVED the problem on Win 7. It also RESOLVED the problem on Server 2012 R2.
We still need to test on Server 2008 R2 but we are hopeful when that time comes.
Thanks.

Unable to retrieve Object. Failed to load database information
I am getting the following error when trying to run my reports from Crystal XI with SQL Server 2005.
CrystalReportViewer
Error in File 180+DAYREP.EWARP: Failed to load database information.
Unable to retrieve Object.
Error in File 180+DAYREP.EWARP: Failed to load database information.
I have done some research on this but no luck on resolving the issue.
Any suggestions are welcome thanks.First thought is that the application cannot access the DSN or database driver that the report was designed on, this could be permissions.
I tried to ping my database and was unable to find the host. I was under the assumption it was using TNSNames which is able to resolve.
How can I validate the permissions?
As I said I'm a little lost here. Apologies if I ask stupid questions. -

After Archiving and restoring the databse. i am trying to connect to databse from excel addin but it is giving me "failed to load database" error
I tried to use replay transaction from console but its giving me the same error....

It's acting really wierd ...sometime even application is not starting.
I tried to delete the database and create a new one and then i restored it.
