EM Console performance

Hi team,
I was reading some blogs on the steps to improve em console performance. Most of them have mentioned to change the setting under soa-infra---->commonproperties and Restrict Instances and faults to the last 24 hours to lesser value. What I dont understand here is I have already switched off my audit logs. How does it improve the performance when changing the settings. Also I dont understand the term each metric can still be retrieved on demand. how to retrieve on demand. Can someone explain
Thanks,
Balaji.

I would suggest you restart Enterprise manager and Agent.

  • WL Administration Console performance not affected by other deployed apps

    Hello,
I have deployed a EAR on WL 12c server consisting of 2 web apps. One of the web apps was purposedly coded to be a cpu resource killer (internal loop in servlet code), the other wep app is a very simple basic servlet.
After invoking the "killer" web app the other "normal" web app becomes very slow, just as expected.
What surprises me is that WL Administration Console performance is not affected by the "killer" web app. Every other application on the server is dead slow but Console is fine.
    Why is that?

    Hi,
Are you sure that you had deployed those two apps in Admin server only or else it was deployed on Managed server.
Make sure that you deploy both of app on Admin Server only.

  • SCOM web console - Performance View Time Range

    Hi,
I am trying to change the default time range from 24hrs to 48hrs. I have searched for solution, however, all of them are same as this, and it didn't work for me.

Has this solution worked for anyone using SCOM 2012 SP1? I made the change to 48hrs, after a iisreset, it is still showing 24hrs.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I want to know which web.config file , you are modify.
    There are two web.config
    1) c:\program files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\WebConsole\webhost: not working by adding <add key="PerformanceHourBefre" value="48" />

  • Service Manager 2012 SP1 consoles hanging or slow performance issue in Virtual Environment

    Hii,
We are facing SCSM SP1 console performance issue which is utilizing high CPU and working deadly.
For information, our SCSM is in Virtual environment via Hyper-V.
When running the console over an RDP session to a Hyper-V virtual machine, we have to be careful not to maximize the console so that it will remain fast.  If we maximize on the VM, the console is so slow as for it to be unusable.
Can someone share his experience, please?

  • How performance is increased in Weblogic 10.3

    Hi All,
Everywhere i am reading that using Weblogic 10.3 increases the over all performance of the application.Could anybody please help me in understanding the parameters that has resulted in the performance improvement of Weblogic 10.3.

The following enhancements improve the performance :-
    * Console performance enhancements—A number of performance enhancements significantly improve the responsiveness and memory
requirements for the Administration Console application.
    * Improved accessibility—The semantic markup used to define Console pages helps assistive technologies understand the pages better.
    * Improved browser support—Console pages are implemented to provide more consistent behavior between the Microsoft Internet
    * Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
    * Allowing Administration Channel Traffic
    * Using HTML Template Compression
    * Improved File Session Performance
    and many other changes...

  • Performance issue SCSM 2012 R2

    Hellol
We have SCSM 2012 R2 (no RU), we have a performance issue, when we set implemener for Manual Activity and press OK, CPU utilization raises to 25-30% for 1,5 minutes and during this period console is not working. What can be a reason of it? On the SQL Servers
(CMDB) there are enough resources, servers are virtual (cluster mode). How can we investigate this issue? SCSM is not used in the production yet.
Disabled 4 subscriptions for manual activity, but did not help.

In the UR2/UR3 of SCSM 2012 R2 is a console performance fix. You should consider to install the latest UR and give it a try again.
Andreas Baumgarten | H&D International Group
We installed UR3 today and problem is not solved, also we defined problem more clear, it happens when we specify user AD login without pressing check button even.... also same problem when we press "..."button to find AD users. So problem not when
we save MA, it is related to searching AD users. SQL servers have 8 cores each, cluster mode, enough free space. "Users" tab shows ~57 000 user accounts.

  • SCSM 2012 report without report server

Is there a way to generate SSRS incident reports as well as others with the SCSM SQL database? I do not have reporting services installed due to a failure in dev. I was wanting to use another Report Server and create queries/views.
ie. Sharepoint 2010 to generate reports. Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

All of the reports are produced from the Data Warehouse Server. that would be the key piece. the Data Warehouse server INCLUDES a SSRS instance. is this the instance that failed?
If you were to use another reporting engine or instance, make sure to point it to the DWDatamart database, this is the Flat, user readable database that is ETL'd out for consumption by reports and BI.
do not try to read from the Active ServiceManager database.
It's a 5th or 6th normalized, star model, object reference, GUID keyed indecipherable mess. A college of mine has been working in ops manager and service manager for nearly 4 years, almost all of that in the database, and he recently claimed that he ALMOST
understands what's going on in the active ServiceManager database. What i'm getting at is that the ServiceManager database is designed to perform well with highly interconnected object data, not designed to be human readable.
Plus, the active database is constantly groomed; old closed incidents, service requests, etc are routinely cleared from the active database. These are kept in the DataWarehouse, but not in the active database.
The reason for both of the above is the performance cost. The ServiceManager database is TIGHTLY interconnected (cause 6th normalized object mess, from above), and every entry in the active database has a cost for almost every view. Console performance is basically
dominated by SQL performance. If you start hitting the active database with reporting queries, you're going to have a real impact on console performance.

  • Running WebLogic10.3  Server with Maximum Memory

    Hi
My application is being run on Weblogic 10.3. I am bringing up the weblogic with 7 GB(Xms). I want to make my application to utilize maximun amonut of memory.
Say for example i am starting the WebLogic with 7gb, i should make sure that the application is using 6GB of the memory. Showing 1 GB as free.
Any hints for optimal memory utilization ........ please
    Regards
    Pavan

Assuming you're running WebLogic on a system with a JVM that can actually use 7 g of RAM, just set the "-Xmx" parameter to "7g" (I'm not sure of the syntax for that). If you want to verify the JVM can actually use that much, then you could also set the "-Xms" parameter to the same value. Then, use either the WebLogic console "Performance" tab (in the "Server" definition) to verify memory usage, or use VisualVM, or some other tool that can monitor the memory state of a JVM.

  • SCOM is slow when you do changes

    Hi,
My SCOM is extremely slow when I do changes. Exemple when I create a new Group, create a new view, monitor, rule. Or edit a Group, view, monitor, rule.
After I have pressed save button I need to wait for about 3 minutes before I can use the scom console again. It is completely freezed. If I try to use SCOM console on another management server it is freezed there to.
What can I do to speed this enviroment up? My cpu and ram are not maxed out on either the management servers or database.

  • SCCM 2012 & SQL Cluster

    Hello..
My Colleague and I are involved in implementing SCCM 2012 for a client and having a question on what would be the best practice (Microsoft Recommendation) for having DB for SCCM 2012 specifically, please note it is for 2012 and not for 2007. And, if
we are going to install SQL 2012 on the same box as SCCM 2012 is going to be installed,
    1. Would it incur additional licensing cost for SQL 2012 (am asking as I read somewhere as long as the DB used just for CM, additional cost wouldn't be there)
    2. What difference does it make to have the DB on cluster and on the local Primary Site box
    3. If we gonna have DB in the Primary site box, what would happen if something goes wrong with this box (we just gonna have only one Primary site as per our design), and what happens until we bring this box functioning through Backup & Recovery (basically
it is going to be VM Snapshot recovery)
    4. And finally, can we have the CM databases (one for CM & another for WSUS) on any existing instance (Production) which is running for Business critical applications? - Because, this we have to convince the App/DB owners of that particular instance
that we gonna share for SCCM.
And any additional steps related to DB considerations for SCCM that I missed to mention above can also be answered..
    Thanks, V@s!m

    Hi,
1, No as long as you use SQL Standard Edition and only use it for System Center 2012 Databases.
2, Cluster gives you higher availability than if you have it locally on the SCCM server but it is much more complex to manage, you will need additional SMS providers and so on to provide High-availability.
3, If you have it on the same box you can do nothing if it goes down, but it still requires you to have all other roles on different servers as well. Note using VM snapshop recovery is not supported and should not be used as other site systems will not now
what has happended when you restore it.
4, You could but I always recommend not to do it, as service pack upgrades, SQL CU, collation e.t.c must match and you will have even more dependencies when you do upgrades e.t.c
Using a Local SQL on the primaryn site server at least for implementations less than 50'000 clients is recommended, you will get better console performance, if you go for a cluster make sure the Network speed between the Primary Site and the SQL is as good
as it can be preferably the same switch.

  • State Views

Hello, I'm very new to Flex and have a question about State
    Views.
Using ActionScript, Is there a way to retrieve all the States
that were defined for the component?
I'm developing a function that checks if state "X" is defined
in the component, so I think the only way I can do that is to first
retrieve all the states and then see if my state "X" is inside.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Switching between ap# and router#

    Hi
I have configured my Cisco 887VAMW with ADSL and Wifi but the only way I can configure the ap and router separately is to be connected to the router by ssh and the ap via console cable.
When at the ap# prompt, how do I get back to the router#?
I have tried the instructions on cisco.com:
    Closing the Session
To close the session between the wireless device and the router’s console, perform both of the following steps.
    Wireless Device
    1. Control-Shift-6 x
    Router
    2. disconnect
    3. Press Enter twice.
    But it doesnt work....help!!!
    Thanks

When you are in router# mode in order to enter ap# mode:
cmd: #service-module wlan-ap 0 session  -of course Im sure you have convered this
    from ap# to router#
PRESS: CTRL+SHIFT+6, let go, then just press X
-A line should appear on the cmd you did
    -Press enter once!

  • Dropped t3s connections under SSL load testing

    Hi,
similar to other threads on this group we have been experiencing
problems with SSL when stress testing t3s clients, this time with WLS
6.0 SP2. We have java clients that can stress test our WLS server for

  • WebSAPConsole on Win2003 IIS 6.0 -  Slow

I have WebSAPConsole installed one on Win2000 IIS 5, WinXP IIS 5.1 and Win2003 IIS 6.
The performance on win2000 and winXP is great.
But it is very slow on Win2003, I already tried on multiple win2003, all are slow.
Is there some patch required for win2003 IIS 6 ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Ee Siong

    Hi!
Here is some authentic information on WebSAP Console performance issue. We had this issue with quite a few customers in the past.
WebSAPConsole creates an isapi_sapcnsl.dll which sits on the top of IIS( irrespective of Windows 2000/XP/2003).
You will notice that the performance of WebSAPConsole is very good in IIS in Windows 2000/XP. This proves that WebSAPConsole has no problemwith performance.
When webSAPConsole is running in IIS in Windows 2003 the performance is poor.We had analyzed this issue extensively and our conclusion is that the
performance hit is due to extensive security checks by Microsoft in IIS(Windows 2003).
Since the issue is with Microsoft, and lot of security issues have been introduced in IIS(Windows 2003), the performance of WebSapConsole is poor in Windows 2003.
So, it is better to use IIS 5.0 in Windows 2000/XP.Not a must but recommeded one.
    Thank You
