Let's troubleshoot it from the start.
a. Properly set all required environment
b. Verify your connectivity configuration, ip addres, naming, and make sure it is consistent with the original networking configuration, some localhost naming configuration issues have been reported.
1. Verify your database is up and running
2. Verify your listener is up and running
3. Ensure your database is already registered against your listener. (lsnrctl services) If you don't see you instance registered and it is configured for self-registration, wait for a while, it will not take more than 60 seconds to complete. If it takes longer and never registers a registration troubleshooting has to be performed.
4. start your enterprise manager
5. Retry access and report results of each phase.

    Hi,
I have a probem in my production database -
    Server - Windows 2003
    DB - Oracle 10g
When i try to open Enterprise Manager I get the below error message. This was working fine since last month. But I haven't made any changes to this DB. But I noticed that disk space was very less so I deleted files from recycle bin, temp internet files, cookies and some unwanted documents i copied on the server. No disc space is OK. I have 10 GB free space. Also i am getting DB warning notification because table space is 92 % full so I want to increase it. But I dont know why I am getting this because I had already set to grow table space automatically.
Is there any other way to increase table space other than that in Enter prise manager ?

I tried to troubleshoot as per some forums but it doesnt work. If i use command prompt or sql plus to connect to DB it works but only enterprise manager has this issue. Also my Documentum Application connected to this DB works fine.
listner is fine. Also I added server login account in 'log on as batch john' in local policies.
I do not have a back up to restore also.

Regarding the tablespace you may consider extend it yourself and not wait for the autoextend to kick in. This way you avoid future problems if for some strange reason the datafile cannot be extended. Not ignoring this error and being reminded every time the tablespace reaches some limit gives you a feeling of how fast your data grows, which is useful (if the alert comes too often you have to increase with bigger chunks). Autoextend is a feature invented for the lazy dbas out there (imho), a responsible one should not rely on it for production systems with any serious load.
As for the connection problem from EM, I suspect the agent has a connection problem. Have you verified the username and password it is using? Can you connect to the db with the same combination?Yes, I can connect to DB with the same user name and password using command prompt or sql plus. Also my Documentum Application is connecting fine to this oracle DB.
    This is the full message.

Previously I used to get login page but now instead of login page I get this warning. There is also 'Startup' and 'Perform Recovery' button. Even if I use 'startup' button it does not resolve issue. It gives me the bellow message -
    SQLException
    ORA-28000: the account is locked
    Startup/Shutdown:Confirmation

    Operation shutdown immediate
Are you sure you want to perform this operation?

  • Database status is currently unavailable

    hi!
the web-based 10g OEM of our database displays "database status is currently unavailable" upon login as sysdba. but the database instance has already been started/opened. could it be because of the "UNKNOWN" status in my listener? if yes, what are things should i look for to solve this problem? thank you very much.
    Services Summary...
    Service "bdsprod" has 1 instance(s).
Instance "bdsprod", status UNKNOWN, has 1 handler(s) for this service...

Click on the performance tab, does it prompt for userid/password. If so its the credentials to check the db.
Also check the oracle home that OEM thinks your db is at, sometimes it gets messed up.

  • Database is UP- But OEM says DATABASE status is currently unavailable

  • Database status shows as currently unavilable

    I m monitoring a 11g db using a10gr5 agent
When I go to db home page,it shows a message target is currently unavailable.
Database is up and i m able to connect.
    Any clue???

    Hi,
It can be due to mismatch in status between agent and OMS.
    goto agent_home/bin and execute
    ./emctl status agent target db-name,oracle_database
If you find any difference in status then do a clearstate while agent is up
    ./emctl clearstate agent

  • Current database status does not match sitemap page

After I had to drop and recreate an 10g instance the OEM Home tab displays Status Pending. The instance, however, is available and all other OEM functions like Performance, Installation, and Maintenance work fine.
If I try to shutdown the instance the I get this message in the Startup/Shutdown:Confirmation screen :
    Current Status open
This is the correct current database status, although it doesn't match the current status in the sitemap page.
Stopping and starting the instance through OEM did not change this condition.
How do you get OEM to update the status to what it knows it correct instead of what is stored in the sitemap page?

Ok, I did that many times already. The command is 'emctl stop dbconsole' and 'enctl start dbconcole'. OEM still thinks the instance is Pending.
Becasue of this and other problems with this instance I am going to cut my losses and uninstall 10.1 then reinstall 10.2 this weekend.
For example, I am now getting messages like this on Startup and the database will not Open:
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 41987820 bytes (pga
heap,KCL disk IO request block array)
If I allocate much LESS memory to SGA and PGA and then Startup the instance comes right up.
    Thanks for you help.

  • Database Home page display : The database target is currently unavailable

    Hello,
I Installed OEM Gird 11g on an Windows 2008 R2
    version Installed :
    - Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Console 11.1.0.1.0
    - WebLogic Platform 10.3.2.0
    - Oracle WebTier and Utilities CD 11.1.1.2.0
To make it running I have to disable IPV6 !
One the database server (Windows 2003 64 bit - Oracle 10.2.0.1.0) I have upgraded the agent to the version Oracle Management Agent 11.1.0.1.0.
I am able to configure a database (dbsnmp/password) no connection issue
But after that the home display the message (The database target is currently unavailable), like the agent is not able to connect to the database.
The database is accessible through the link "Last Known State".
I have try stop and restart the agent in the database.
I also test to make a clearstate (emctl clearstate agent), without success.
I go deeper in the log of the agent (emagent.trc) :

It is like OEM Grid 11g is not able to give the right password to the agent.
    Anyone knows about this issue.

    Please help me ...

    503 Service Unavailable
The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay MAY be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.
Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a
server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish
    to simply refuse the connection.

  • Error in XI senario: The requested application,AFW,is currently unavailable

    Hi Forum,
In a scenario, I have a BPM, which makes a synchronous call to R/3 for execution of a rfc enabled Function module, while doing so, it gives an error as a response, which i can see in the MONI:
    <b>503   Service Unavailable
The requested application, AFW, is currently unavailable.</b>
<i><b>The same error is also thrown when the BPM makes a asynchronous connection to a database,</b></i>
can u help in diagnosing the problem, and help in rectifying it,
    thanks

    Hi
Just a check with this error

Possible Tips: Because of J2EE application com.sap.aii.af.ms.app not active
    • Try to (re)start the application using the Visual Administrator Choose Server --> Services --> Deploy --> View on Application or restart the J2EE engine
    • The problem is that not all J2EE services can be started by the J2EE. i.e Start the Visual Administrator and select Server->Services->Deploy in the tree on the left. On the right-hand side, choose the Runtime tab page. You see a tree in the right window with all applications if you select the APPLICATION radio button. Check if they are running, otherwise choose Start. Usually the J2EE engine starts all services automatically.

  • Currently Unavailable Message for a Single Channel

Has anyone had this issue with a single channel?  The new FSC HD (584) that just came out last week worked for 1/2 a day then it started showing Currently Unavailable.  I had a technician out a few days later and he checked signal strength, changed all the connections at the splitter on every line and the channel started to show up again.  Two days later it went back to Currently Unavailable.   After 2 hours on the phone, an hour tech visit, an hour on online chat, researching all I could, etc. they have no clue what to do and now I have to wait for a technician to come out again in 7 days!!!!!   Gotta love Verizon!
I can't believe that there is no record of another customer having this issue in their tech support databases and someone can tell me something other than unplug the connection and plug it back in.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The technician changed out all of the connections into and out of the splitter. We also reconnected everything along with way (at the router, to the TVs and from the wall plates, etc.).   It worked fine for a day or two then went out again on all of the TVs.  Then this morning the channel is appearing again (without doing anything), but it's just a matter of time until it goes out again.   My question is I could understand a connection issue if it were all of the HD channels, but why on just this one (the newest one released about a week ago, doesn't happen on the previously released HD channel BET).

    Dear all,
We are setting up Diaster recover  (DR ) where we are doing the mirror copy of the Source System to Target System.
After mounting all the files in Target DR System, i made the following changes in Target System.

    b)Changed the dbenv files (/home/kbpadm)  and (/home/orakbp)
c)set right permissions in all files and folders in /usr/sap.
d)Oracle is running and DB is also up
    e)Started the profiles using sapcpe

    Dear all,
Even i am also facing same problem.
We are setting up Diaster recover  (DR ) where we are doing the mirror copy of the Source System to Target System.
After mounting all the files in Target DR System, i made the following changes in Target System.
    OS: AIX
    Dual stack System(ABAP +JAVA)
    Instance number used :
    00--ASCS00
    02-- DVEBMGS02
    01--SCS01
03--D03 -------------------------------------------------------------------------->  It is maintained in another DR Server
    Database Used: Oracle
    a)renamed the Profiles (/usr/sap/KBP/SYS/profile).
    b)Changed the dbenv files (/home/kbpadm)  and (/home/orakbp)
c)set right permissions in all files and folders in /usr/sap.
d)Oracle is running and DB is also up
    e)Started the profiles using sapcpe
e)After switching user (sidadm), Started the SAP Applications and SAP applications are up.
When i checked the GetProcess list according to instance wise, i am getting below output.
