Erratic HP Control Zone Behaviour
I Recently purchased the laptop about 3 Weeks ago, and I began to notice the Synaptic HP Control Zone mouse would behave erraticly after some time. A reset of the device driver seems to fix it but the problem returns again when some time passes.
Everything seems to be upto date and the Control zone works with multitouch and normal use but this unsual and erratic behaviour that occurs quite often has become quite irritating. I've resorted to disabling the Control Zone and I am currently using an external wireless mice I purchased with the laptop.
Driver:
HP Control Zone - V18.1.7.8
A video of the issue
http://youtu.be/a8iXk0Wyjv0
Any help would be greatly AppreciatedI recently bought an HP Envy as well and I have multitutde of problems with the Control Zone. The only solution is whenever it happens I have to use the touchscreen to get to "HP Control Zone Settings" and do a "Reset Devices".
Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?

Controlling tab behaviour for SelectInputText
We are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 with ADF
With SelectInputText a flashlight icon is displayed to call the LOV. When the cursor is in the SelectInputText field and the user presses tab button the focus is set on the flashlight. Our users donot like the focus on the flashlight, and instead they would like to move from field to field. They prefer to press a shortcut key to call the LOV.
How can I change the behaviour so that the cursor focus is not set on the flashlight? Thanks.Hi,
this can only be done through JavaScript in that you register an onFocus event on the icon. The event then sets the next navigable item into focus. If you have a look at the generated HTML, you can see how the icon ID is defined. Use this in a document.getElementById() call to obtain a handle and add the JS event listener

Controlling WDJ behaviour based on the Calling Application - Any Idea?
Hi Folks,
I have crated <u>two applications</u> to call the <u>one WDJ program</u>.. So that based on the calling application i need to change the behavior of the WDJ program.. that is displlay and not to display few UI elements based on the calling application..
Can sone one pelase help me in this regards
Thanks in advance,
Srini.Hi Srinivas,
please, follow these steps:
1) in the url of your application send a parameter (e.g. 'a' for application 1 and 'b' for application 2).
2) Into web dynpro create an inbound Plugs(Open your Interface View -> Plugs) as:
Name : Default
Event Handler: onPlugDefault
Startup: yes
This plug will read the value you sent in the URL.
3) Assign to it a parameter in the Parameters Area, i.e. "param1" type string
4) In the View you can capture the parameter value in the URL in the wdDoInit method, using this code:
String par1 = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("param1");
5) Note that in the View you must add the interface (Properties -> Required Controllers)
That's all. Hoper this help you.

This post is just an informative post about how flash saves its settings and how some sites misuse it.
Well, like many other people i was having trouble with adobe flash player's hardware acceleration, similar to one mentioned here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/22878
So, i disabled it in /etc/adobe/mms.cfg and even by right clicking a flash element -> settings and unchecking enable hardware acceleration. But for some reason it used to get re-enabled. Then i realized that i was using bleachbit and it was clearing all contents of ~/.macromedia.
Now there's a file called settings.sol stored at
~/.macromedia/Flash_Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/settings.sol
This file stores flash settings such as the cache, hardware acceleration, allow camera and microphone for specific sites etc.
I wanted to prevent bleachbit from deleting settings.sol, but delete every other crap that's present in ~/.macromedia. One way was to edit bleachbit's cleaner for flash, but i didn't want to go that route, as i considered it less ideal. So, i set the immutable attribute to settings.sol by using
# chattr +i settings.sol
Now bleachbit couldn't delete this particular file, but did delete the rest of ~/.macromedia. This solved the above problem for me.
Later on after a browsing session i ran bleachbit, and found a file settings.sxx in bleachbit's log. I was sure i had never seen this file before, so i googled for it.
Seems like some sites change your settings.sol file without your permission, but if this file is set to read-only (which isn't by default), then they write to the file settings.sxx. And i suppose it is used for tracking purposes.
So i created an empty file settings.sxx aside settings.sol, and set it to read-only. So, i hope now i am sufficiently safe from flash based tracking.
I hope this post helps other people realize the problems that flash poses before us.
Please note that i am not overly paranoid, but i dislike sites doing stuff behind my back, especially on my computer.

How to Control the Dynamic Pegging Behaviour in CDP
Dear All,
We are using Characteristic Dependent Planning (CDP) to plan configurable materials.
The requirement is to control the behaviour of Dynamic Pegging of a dependent requirement to receipt. We are using MTS strategy.
The BOM is P2 -
> P1.
Now P1 and P2 have characteristics called Length, WIdth, Grade, etc. The normal CDP based pegging considers all the characteristics and tries to match them. However we wish to peg only based on Grade and WIdth (the characteristic Length is not pegging relevant but only for information). We cannot make Length as APO non relevant.
We have already modified the heuristic such that it doesnt consider length in netting off.
Is there any way we can modify the pegging behaviour through some development?Hi,
We had a compareable business requirement and it has been modelled using public method /SAPAPO/IF_EX_RRP_PLANNING~PEGID_GET_IO (Change the Receipts and Reqs After Reading from liveCache) from BAdI Interface /SAPAPO/IF_EX_RRP_PLANNING
The heuristic calls up the method after it has read the requirements and receipts in SAP liveCache, and has determined the virtual safety stock requirements based on the settings in the planning version and in the location product master.
We basically implemented the following steps:
Get non-pegging relevant characteristics (using a spec table nammed i.e. zpp_npeg_chars)
Get internal numbers of non-pegging relevant characteristics (collecting entries from cabn)
Remove values of non-pegging relevant characteristics (deleting in table CT_CHARACT_REQ = Table with Characteristic Requirements)
You can also influence CDP propagation by using method /SAPAPO/IF_EX_RRP_PLANNING~RECEIPTS_SAVE (Change the Planning Results) from same BAdI Interface.
Hoping this help.

I would really appreciate if someone takes his time trying to
solve my problem. I want to use the SWF CONTROL behaviour that
comes with dreamweaver, it's a built-in extension. I have swf
inside my page and i try to attach the on click control sfw
behaviour gotoframe (90 - for an instance), so once i click the
link not only that it brings me to another page but it roots to the
swf file inside the same page, going to the frame number with that
section (they share the same swf).
Anyone knows some real-time examples and good tutorials on
this one, integrating all with javascript ect ect, i did everything
as should but it didn't work, i also put labels on swf, nothing
happens, i can only control html from swf, not the oposite.
Please help me if you can, provide some links or stuff ect
ect
Agaim my main goal is establishing swf control via html links
(on click gotoframe, i know which frame number is my section)

Costumize Control - Few problems.
Hello everybody,
I'm new to JavaFX and I want to getting start by doing a Simple customized control. I got few questions wondering if somebody can give some valuable advices.
1. For a simple Control, do I still need to follow the Control/Skin/Behaviour structure or can I just simply extend Node or Control to do everything within on class?
2. My planned Control want to do something resizeable, but the methods like setPrefWidth, setWidth within the parent class Control is all final, how should I cope with sizes to arrange the skin to be display accordingly? the only way I can see it is to add change Listener to widthProperty which is a bit awkward. I actually played a little bit with the width & height property change listener. I put my control in a AnchorPane, if I set all 4 anchors for each border, it works fine that I can get the size when window changes. If I don't set any anchor, when I want to set the size by calling methods, but all the methods seems doesn't work. For example, calling setPrefWidth(200.0) and the widthProperty remains 0.0.
Please somebody give some ideas or recommend some good stuff to read.
Thanks.Consider watching this talk I gave at JavaOne last year:

How to control the processing of the request?
I have something like this:
<h:inputText value="#{sessionController.currentRowData.settlementId}"/>
<h:inputText value="#{sessionController.currentRowData.remark}"/>
<h:inputText value="#{sessionController.currentRowData.fromDate}">
<f:convertDateTime pattern="yyyy-MM-dd"/>
</h:inputText>
The currentRowData object is the currently selected row of a data model.
Problem is, the model is updated with the value of the components whenever the form is submitted,
and regardless of whether the value of the components has changed or not.
(Actually, the behaviour depends on the type of the property, as ie. Date is treated differently from String or int.)
This causes unwanted changes to the model, and, if a new row is selected, it will at once
be updated with the values of the previous row (from the current state of the components).
I want the above components to update the model only if the user wants to, ie. only if a
specific command button is pressed.
How to control this?
Let a PhaseListener check the request, and do renderResponse on the FacesContext if
the "selectRow" request is found in the request parameter map?
This is not very elegant, and it does not seem to work either. If setting PhaseId to APPLY_REQUEST_VALUES, the action itself (selecting row)
will not be executed, and if using UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES, the value of the components is set from the request (even if unchanged), and not updated according the the new data in the model (the rendered values does not reflect the values of the properties of the object the components are bound to)
Another solution might be to let the "disabled"-attribute of the inputText tags be dependent on whether
a specific "edit"-button has been pressed (disabled inputText tags are rendered correctly after a row change).
But a better solution would to have the ability to control the behaviour, something like
"for these components, no updating of state should be done unless the condition c is true"
(I'm not sure what condition this could be, though).
Whatever solution I may end up with, the real problem seems to be that the state (and hence the model)
is updated from the request also in the case where the value in the request is the same as the current value of the component.
Or maybe there is something I have missed here?
erikThis one is a tricky problem - a side-effect of JSF doing a lot of things automatically is that sometimes it does too much.
I don't have a great solution, but here's a couple of ideas:
(1) Try using multiple <h:form>s on your page (not nested one inside the other, but separate). Data will only get updated in the form that contains the button that got pressed.
(2) Use an intermediate model layer, and discard updates as appropriate.
Neither of these are beautiful solutions - the second is way ugly - but they might help. Long-range, I'd love to see something like "subforms" supported in JSF that can provide finer grained control over what gets processed (validations, model pushes, etc.) and what doesn't without resorting to the blunt hammer of multiple HTML forms.
I'm a little confused about "the model is updated with the value of the components whenever the form is submitted, and regardless of whether the value of the components has changed or not.", because JSF is checking the old value and using ".equals()" to see if its changed. Note, however, that it's not caching the old value across the request, but simply going back to the model on the subsequent request, which may (or may not) explain the behavior you're seeing.

Fine grained control of sessions
Hello,
at the moment I'm developing a web application for my company using JSP for the presentation tier. The main pupose of the site is to inform customers about our products, but it should contain some kind of shopping cart, too.
My problem is:
Because of of various reasons I don't want a session object (and a session id) to be created as long as the client just visits pages with static content. But as soon as he orders something, a session should be triggered and should persist as long as necessary. I would like to control this behaviour with a parameter or so.
I found a solution, but it is not very smart:
On every JSP I add the following code at the beginning:
<c:if test="${param['nosession']==1}" >
<!-- Delete session! -->
<% session.invalidate(); %>
</c:if>This prevents the URL-encoding of the page links. The problem is, that every time a page is requested, a new session will be created (and send as a HTTP parameter to the customer) only to be invalidated during processing of the JSP later. Are there better solutions?
Thanx in advance.
Dieteryou do not invalidate the session, but the session object is
unavailable only on that page. That is my understanding of how this works.
In effect it removes the implicit call to request.getSession(true) that every jsp makes to populate the variable "session"
If I use the <c:url> tag on page 2 using a cookieless browser the link
is still encoded with the session? Sorry, don't know that one.
The <url> tag will still call response.encodeURL() of course.
I'm not sure if it would pick up the presence of the sessionid or not though.
The session is definitely still there.
The cookie (if present) is obviously still there.
The sessionId is sent as part of the request.
Theoretically it SHOULD pick it up and encode it still if present. I've never tried it myself though.
Good luck,

Easy DMS - disable / control thumbnail generation
Hi,
I have set up DMS and everything works fine, except...
EasyDMS ist producing thumbnails from various files and I don't know where to control this behaviour. I have not set up anything according to thumbnails in SPRO. In EasyDMS preferences is nothing to change and the registry gives no solution, too.
It's generating bmp thumbnails even from jpg's, curious!
System is ECC 6.0 with EasyDMS 6.0 SP07.
TIA

I'm out of office next week 20-24.08.07 it might take a while to read and answer, depends on availability of internet access.Hi,
Please set the registry entry under this path. Create en REG_DWORD type entry - name it 'DisableThumbnails' (without qoutes) and set it to 1. Then restart easyDMS.

Account Hierarchy - Sumation behaviour
Hi Gurus,
This is quite simple but can't figure it out yet. As I display some data in a Report using an account hierarchy I noticed that Net income is expressed as the difference between "Pre Tax income" and "Taxes". So if Pre Tax is 10 and "Taxes" is 3 I get a calculated value of 7 in the calculated Account "Net incomne".
That's fine, but where it is said that this have to be sustracted. I guess that the system looks at the Account Type property. One is INC and the other is EXP. But I don't see any formula in the member, or any script logic in Default.LGF. I guess some customers prefer loading taxes as a negative amount and would like to control this behaviour.
If I change the taxes account to property "INC" (just to do a test) suddenly the report will display the taxes amount in red with a negative value and still get the same overall amount for the Net Income. So what's actually stored in the database..a negative or a positive amount?
Thanks for your comments.
Alberto SabateHi,
As I know acctype is used to format numbers on reporting. If acctype is set to AST or EXP it shows database values as they are and if is set to LEQ or INC it shows database values with reverted sign.
Accounting principles says an AST and EXP are positive and LEQ and INC are negative values so in database you should found this accounts with negative amount.
It seems like something like this is happenning in your case.
account database value acctype reporting value
NETINCOME -7 INC 7
pretax -10 INC 10
Tax 3 EXP 3
account database value acctype reporting value
NETINCOME -7 INC 7
pretax -10 INC 10
Tax 3 INC -3
That makes sense.....
I hope it helps,

Behaviour of tpforward when ipc queue is full
Hi,
Can anyone explain the action taken by a server when the ipc queue of the service/server
it is trying to tpforward to is full? What appears to happen is the typical blocking
behaviour of a tpacall without the TPNOBLOCK flag set. Is there anyway of controlling
this behaviour? What we would like to achieve is the equivalent of a TPNOBLOCK
flag being set, with the server giving a failure message back to the caller immediately
(rather than waiting for the blocking timeout) so that it is freed up to continue
processing. Any and all suggestions welcome!
Thanks & regards,
Malcolm.Hi Todd,
Thank you for following this thread! I've attached to TMUSREVT with strace to monitor msg* calls and figured out that TMUSREVT communicates with BBL periodically. Then I have reproduced TMUSREVT server hang in my lab environment. I've set a small value of kernel.msgmnb(kernel.msgmnb = 10512), ran a test client with many subscriptions and simulated high load on the server. When a hang occured TMUSREVT's queue looked this:
------ Message Queues --------
key msqid owner perms used-bytes messages
0x00000000 532545581 pbtrunk 666 10352 12
(virtually full)
And then in the ULOG I found the following records:
184431.host!BBL.14147.3086141120.0: LIBTUX_CAT:1285: WARN: tpreturn message send blocked, will try file transfer
184431.host!TMSYSEVT.14189.3086939840.0: WARN: .SysMachineMsgq: simple1 message queue blocking

Alsa: how to controll the auto mute feature?
Hi,
I have a slight problem with my laptop.
I have a headphone jack, a analogue volume control wheel and my normal speakers.
What I like to have is this:
Plug in headphones => sound only from headphones
No headphones plugged => sound from main speakers (I do not care if sound is still put onto the headphone jack as I would not here it one way or the other)
Right now, this is not working out of the box.
Plugging in my headphones mutes the speakers, great, but it does not unmute my headphones so I hear nothing until I go into alsamixer and unmute my headphones.
This would not be a problem but once I unplug my headphones, alsa mutes them. Ergo, everytime I unplug and plug my headphone I have to unmute them in the alsa mixer.
Can someone tell me where I can controll this behaviour to fix this?
I have seen multiple entries for pulseaudio (which I am not usign right now) or references to a auto-mute button in alsamixer which I do not seem to have in mine.
With best regards,
p90@nomorewindows See if the same happens with power_save and power_save_controller parameters set to 0.
@p90 did you try replugging twice or more times? One more thing you can try is to run 'alsactl store' before plugging headphones in with speakers outputting sound, then after unplugging run 'alsactl restore'. You can use -f switch, see the manual. -
Odd Behaviour: Query and Table
I have odd occurrences within my code and need an explanation
to one and help with the other.
First of all, I have a query within which I am using the
group attribute, and then I am using a counter to control the
behaviour of the output within a table. The problem is that when I
use currentrow attribute with my query which returns seven fields
with on of them being used for the grouping, the currentrow counter
returns 1 through six for the non grouped fields, yet when I use a
counter to count the rows and use a MODULUS operator to create a
conditional statement, I get the right result with a MOD 7 rather
than a MOD 6. Why is coldfusion counting seven fields (when I use
the MOD operator) though currentrow counts 6? (Code is attached and
numbered 1)
Secondly, I am outputing the results of my query using two
different tables as the information for the header is not easily
included within my query. So I have two queries, one displaying the
header and the other the query results.
Now because they are related I wanted to align the two table
one on top of the other (this was successful) my problem is that
thought I define the same table with and subsequently the same with
for respective fields in both tables (table width is 980 pixels
with the first column being assigned 182 pixels and the rest of the
columns being assigned 136 pixels each. However the output shows
that the tables and the columns are not perfectly aligned and they
do not have the same size (why is this when I have hard coded the
width of the columns?). How do I get the two tables to align
perfectly? (code for tables is numbers 2). TIAGo to SQ03. Check the Authorizations for both the user groups. Compare and based on the differences find out what is causing the error.
SQ03 --> Enter user group ..> click Assign infoset to user group...
Assign tht infoset to user BB.
