Quando adquiro um dispositivo Apple penso estar tendo acesso à confiabilidade do software/aplicativos e qualidade e durabilidade do hardware.
Meu iphone 4s série DNQHG4B0DTC0, após tres ou quatro meses de uso começou a desligar sózinho, deve haver registro de meus contatos c/o suporte da Apple. As orientações básicas eram para restaurar aparelho, o que foi feito diversas vezes e atualizar o sistema o que eu não fazia por julgar estranho tal procedimento corrigir um problema de hardware. Orientaram, ainda, levar em uma assistência técnica, que por sua vez pede sete dias para avaliação. Ora o problema ocorria diariamente, por que esperar sete dias? Era só ligar o aparelho aguardar até o dia seguinte e quando desligasse e avaliar a ocorrência.
No dia 30/05/13 levei na assistência ECC, e constataram que tinha um problema e não deram nenhum diagnóstico.
No dia 10/06/13 entregaram-me um novo aparelho, decorrente de "troca na garantia". O de série DQJK41BTDT9Y.
No dia 18/09/13 atualizei para iOS 7. Nos dias 19 e 20 usei tempo livre para sincronizar aplicativos, músicas, etc. No dia 20/09 deparei com lentidão no uso do wi-fi na minha residência, e logo em seguida dificuldade para estabelecer conexão estável.
No dia 21, quando vim para empresa, na rede local tambem tive os mesmos problemas.
Reportado o problema ao suporte da Apple a orientação foi para encaminhar a uma assistência técnica.
Encaminhei para a ECC, dia 24/09 e dia 03/10 emitiram o seguinte diagnóstico:
"Configurado o iPhone para se ligar na rede ECC. Funcionamento aparentemente normal. Força do sinal e captação de sinal OK. Testes de performance normal, mas instável.
Reparos de defeitos técnicos na placa principal executados mediante a troca do módulo completo pois acarreta a troca dos registros do aparelho quanto a número de série e IMEI.
Orçar iPhone NOVO, para fornecimento à base de troca, 3 meses de garantia, de mesmo modelo, cor, capacidade e vínculo contratual. IPHONE 4S, 16 GB, BLACK, CI-BRA = R$ 750,00."
Após a retirada da assistencia técnica pude observar que o problema é mais amplo, envolve tambem a conexão 3G, e o acesso a Mapas, por exemplo. Ou seja, só tenho conexão telefônica, sem acesso à internet, e-mails, etc
O suporte da Apple, no dia 04/10/13 apresentou uma nova proposta:
-enviar o dispositivo para algum lugar através do correio (preciso obter mais detalhes), pagar R$ 549,00 e dentro de 30 dias eu serei, novamente, um feliz proprietário de um iPhone novo.
Já fiquei 20 dias sem dispositivo. 98 dias após ter sido agraciado com um novo dispositivo, o mesmo apresenta problemas, que com o pagamento da módica quantia de R$ 549,00 será resolvida.
O que garante que essa solução não passe a ser rotineira, ou seja, A CADA 90 OU 100 DIAS EU TENHA QUE DESEMBOLSAR R$ 549,00, PARA CONTINUAR SENDO UM PROPRIOTARIO DE UM IPHONE?
Por enquanto vou ficando com meu celular até ter condições de adquirir um smartphone!
Se você acha que há um defeito de fabricação com o seu telefone, você precisa levar o seu telefone para a Apple para avaliação. Note-se que a garantia do iPhone só é válida no país onde foi vendido novo. A garantia não é internacional.

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get. -
After updating my iphone 5s to ios 8.0.2, I am not able to use watsapp and line properly, iphone automatically comes out of the apps after few mins. Please suggest how to fix it.
I had this same problem with what's app. There is a new update for the app on the app store which is compatible with ios8. Update the app, or delete it and re-add it. I found a lot of apps weren't compliant with ios8, but after updating everything worked fine.

I would have to say it is related to the water damage. Water damage will void the warranty anyway, but you can make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device looked at and they can tell you. An out of warranty replacement is cheaper than a new device, but that is up to you as to how you want to handle it.

Okay, thanks that's a help, I was thinking maybe I should wait a month or so , so that I could get the recent software already installed.... Sounds like it may not make any difference.... Just get it and install the update, although I heard it drains the battery badly too... Trying to get the best opportunity to replace it, and I still have 6 months on the warranty..

I paid early termination fee two months ago to Verizon and am now out of the country. Am trying to unlock the phone but the local guys say they are not able to. I see from the blog here that iPhone 5 comes unlocked. Is it true?? Do I still have to unlock. How do I go about it?

Just need an active local SIM card that is compatible with your iPhone. Your local provider
may need to configure some settings under Cellular, but it should pick up signal. Just in
case, make sure that Settings>Cellular>Roaming>Voice & Data are
active.

As you know, iOS 7 applies to the iPhone 4 and above.
I advise you not to ever expect iOS 7 for the iPhone 3GS. Historically, Apple has never released a version of iOS that did not include some older hardware, and later come back to include that hardware. -
