EM unusable following Windows2000 installation

EM unusable following Windows2000 installation.
Plain vanilla software installation with database
creation was without problems. Database is useable.
Services DBConsole and TNSListener are running.
However, http://host:5500/em says "database status
is currently unavailable".
It could be a misconfigured listner or missing service.
It is not the previoulsy reported EM login problem
using IE.

Is the Database service started?
Start the OracleService<SID>

    if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
    if you're using a dvd to install:
    copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.

    Delimited output causes crash following Patch3a installation
    Ive recently installed patch3a with a view to getting my delimited output to load directly into Excel.
    However following the installation of the patch Im now getting the following error 'The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time. Oracle Reports Server CGI - The Reports Server Engine terminated abnormally.'
    Im using destype=file desformat=delimited delimiter=,
    Other reports such as PDF's and HTML's seem to work Ok. Is this a known bug ? Please can someone help me.

    Ive installed patch 5 and the reports server is now on version 6.0.8.14.2 however now none of my reports work.
    The server does not seem to be able to find any of the entries in the cgicmd.dat file.
    I really need some help to fix this as I cant get anything to run anymore.

    I successfully installed creative cloud once, but after that I recovered the PC and it was erased, now when I install creative cloud I get this message, "We've encountered the following issues: Installer failed to initialize". Why is that? And what should I do about it?

    I have also tried the two solutions in the link below, but the problem is that "Adobe creative cloud" is not in my  program list to uninstall it.

  • Unsuccessful rebuilding M/S Office database following the installation of a M/S Outlook update

    Running Mac OS X 10.7.4 with M/S Outlook 2011. I am a two day old ¨baby¨ on a MAC [heretofore a M/S OS PC user]. Did a M/S update yesterday including a ¨CRITICAL¨ M/S  Word 14.2.2 version installation.  Following the installation, I  got a notice that "an older version of M/S Database daemon is running and I must first delete "daemon" from Startup Items & then restart my computer. See MAC OS help."  OK, I confirmed daemon was not in the Startup Items and restarted my computer.  Now, when I attempt to open M/S Outlook I get a notice that "There is a problem with the Office database. To use the database you must rebuild it using the Database Utility"...Two choices " Cancel" or "Rebuild"  If I chose "Rebuild" I am notitified immeditely that "To use the database utility, you must first quit all Office applications"  [There are no office applications open EXCEPT the Database Utility which I confirm using the Mac´s Force Quit Application].  In any event, I <click> "Quit All" and after about 3 minutes a box popsup telling me the same thing "to use the Database Utility I must first quit all Office applications".  If I choose "Cancel" on the the original notice that stated "There is a problem with the Office database. To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility." the notice disappears from the screen for about 5 seconds and then reappears. The notice is currently on the screen as I type this plea for help with this issue.  As an aside, I followed the instructions detailed by Christopher Breen, Macworld.com dated 18 April 2012 article "Undoing the damage wrought by Microsoft´s Outlook update" wherein he details a procedure to "REPLACE" M/S Outlook´s Database Headers with a working copy and thereby rebuild the  Main Identity Database.  Here again, after I <click> "REBUILD" in the Database Utility it comes up "UNSUCCESSFUL" in rebuilding the Main Identity database.

    I tried to do that and it told me Adobe support adviser no longer exists.
    Could you please advise a solution.

    Extract it to a different location inside a dedicated folder and make sure to not destroy the file and folder hierarchy inside the archive. also run the install with sufficient user privielges and security stuff turned off.

    Hi there Mylenium, is there any way you can help me? My cs6 is doing all kinds weird things lately. The liquifying too stopped working completely, when I try to work with the actions, it starts flickering and changing opacity in color by itself. It starts flickering and is completely out of whack! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no luck. I tried getting in touch with adobe and no luck with that neither! Is there anyway you might be able to help?

    Yes.   I've found that works best.  Especially if the drive is external, since external connections are typically slower, and Spotlight loves to eat up space going back and forth.   Time Machine will eat up as much space as it can, and typically needs drives at least twice the size of the original hard drive that is being backed up, if being backed up in full.   So unfortunately there is a lot of empty space that is needed for smooth operation.

  • Premiere Elements 11 will not open after required restart following the installation

    An Adobe support tech assisted me with the installation of Photoshop Elements 11 & Premiere Elements 11 using live chat.  Before disconnecting live chat, the tech reminded me to restart my computer before using these two programs.  I restarted the computer and Photoshop Elements 11 opens and Premiere Elemenst 11 did not.  How can I fix this?

    Thanks for helping.  I tried going to the link and it offered a few different selections to choose from.  I tried them all.  The one thing it did do, is had me download the Adobe Support Advisor.  This checked for problems which it identifed a few things.
    When I click on the underlined link, it took me to a website telling me there was conflict with another adobe program running during the installation.  I clicked on the button sending the "package" to adobe for their reference.
    I have attempted the whole process over again after going into msconfig and disabling everything in the services tab (with MS items hidden), made sure there was nothing in the startup that was adobe related, and disabled the security.  This still had the same outcome - doesn't open up after install. 
    As directed by the link, I tried to look at the install logs located in :/program files (86)/common files/adobe/installers.  This "installers" folder doesn't exist. 
    Everytime I install this program, it ends telling me the program installed correctly.
    Am I following your instructions right?  I'm learning as we go.

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
    Triple-click the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

  • Various boot failures following fresh installation / ISO generation

    Hello,
    It would seem that fresh Arch installations in the last couple of days are providing quite a few errors / failures during bootup. None of these occurred before then, which also seems to affect ISOs generated over the last couple of days too. Having looked into it, the issues seem to be primarily related the automatic activation of dcpcd, ip6tables, iptables, and the krb5 (Kerberos) services. I determined this after comparing the systemctl outputs of an ISO generated a week ago to one I created today. The difference was that the former used WICD and the latter NetworkManager. However, I do not believe NM somehow activated these.
    Also noticed failures related to nscd and WPA supplicant. At face value the nscd issue seems identical to a bug report made in 2005: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/2697
    Relevant journalctl entries for nscd:

    Bit of an odd one I am still puzzled about is the failure of dmraid during ISO bootup. Again, this was not automatically activated before, but is now, resulting in (unsurprising) failure. Installation and ISO generation methods have not changed in the least, so am a tad perplexed! Can anyone offer any insight while I continue to investigate? Well, other than the most obvious suspicion, which is services for installed elements now automatically activate.

    I have the same problem on a fresh install.
    After running systemctl --state = failed I get the following:

    In my case I could make iptables and ip6tables torn after reading the wiki and do the following:
    # touch /etc/iptables/iptables.rules
    # systemctl start iptables
    # touch /etc/iptables/ip6tables.rules
    # systemctl start ip6tables
    As for krb5 I could not even solve the problem, the problem is in the configuration file /etc/krb5.conf but when I compare the file with another previous installation on another computer there is no difference between them. I have not found much documentation about this topic.
    A side effect is that there is no way that achieves connexion via wifi. If I connect to a wired network no problem, but it is impractical to take a very long cable wherever I carry a laptop.

    I've seen a lot of reference to the JIT dll causing problems
    with P4 chips.
    I'd just like to make note that it can (but not always) cause a
    problem on P3 systems.
    I've confirmed the problem on Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 2000
    Server, using P3 733MHz system with 256 MB RAM, installing
    Oracle 8.1.6 Enterprise Edition.
    The exact problem seems to occur when the OUI tries to launch
    the Database Setup Assistant.
    Just for the sake of being complete, the solution that worked
    for me was:
    1. Copy the entire CD to the HD.
    2. REMOVE (or rename, doesn't matter) the offending file
    (symcjit.dll)
    3. Run Setup.exe
    Contrary to other posts on this site, no other modifications to
    any other files were required. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
    Wow.. what a frustrating 3 days.

    I posted this as a notice, and never came back. :)
    But since I did leave it vauge, I'll answer the question for anyone else that comes along.
    The file version (obtained by right-click and Properties, Version tab) for the 8.1.6 install is:
    3.10.0.107
    and is 410 kb.
    And the other part: No, you don't need to replace the file. Simply deleting it forces the installer to use a regular java interpreter from the jre on your system, the one currently being used by the Universal Installer perhaps (?), rather than the JIT one you have just deleted.
    It's such an easy fix and appears to cause no problems, I wonder why the installer makes a switch to using it, half way through the install.
    p.s. The reason I came back here is because I need to perform a second installation on a different box, and I had bookmarked this page. :) For once, I was thinking ahead.
