EM10g Problem connect to Grid Control

Hello,
I have installed EM10g Grid Control on Solaris 9. After the installation I can connect http://test:1810 der Application Server. I can connect http://test:7777 the welcome site. But if i try to connect to grid control http://test:7777/em I always get the message from the browser "server not found" cannot display site. Anyone an idea?
Regards
Alexander Türk

Try to use 4889 instead of the 7777, if that does work, it could be your webcache which is not running.
You can also try to use the URL without /em, this should get you to the Application Server homepage.

  • Problem Load Balancing connections for Grid Control Console on port 80!

I have two OMS and I'm balancing connections for Grid Control Console using a Software Load Balancer according with "Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced Configuration". I have success where the load balancer is listening on port different to 80. When I configure Load Balancer to listen on port 80(architecture requirement) and distribute load between the two OMS(Port 7779), when login to Enterprise Manager Console the URL on the web browser changes to the port configured for HTTP server (port 7780) wich produces an "unable to connect" error message; and this behaviour also happends in some of the internal links of Grid Control Console too. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

I got it working, changing the "Port" directive to 80 on httpd.conf on HTTP Server

  • Problem with alv grid control editable

Hello all. I ask your help with this question because I did not find the answer in the forum. Sorry for my pour english.
I have an alv grid control (OO) with the standards buttons 'insert a line', 'delete a line', 'copy a line'.
My problem is I want to catch the event of these buttons, because after I register the events mc_evt_enter y mc_evt_modifies, when I push the button to insert a new line the alv grid show the new line and then get a dump with error: Field symbol has not yet been assigned.
My problem is that no event is launched when I push the button. I tried to catch the event before command but it does not happen.
It is like these standard buttons works apart and it is not possible to find out what they are doing.
I have read the manual easy reference for alv grid control, and I created the class lcl_event_handler exactly equal.
I have tried to debug the code in order to find the error but I can find out where it has been done.
Thank you in advance. If anybody needs to see my code I will send you or post you.

    David,
What you need to do for that is to enable the editing field by field. You will have to add a field STYLE type LVC_T_STYL to the DATA table. This nested internal table will hold the information for each field of the row, whether the column is editable or not. So, if you have 5 columns, then the nested internal table will have 5 rows for each row of the main internal table.
Once this is done, you will have to append a blank row to the table, making all the fields editable and REFRESH the display.
    Regards,
    Ravi

I assume the first column contains the standard selection field of the ALV grid.
To enable the proper method of seletion, you need to pass the appropriate SEL_MODE in the your layout structure:
    SEL_MODE is either SPACE, A, B, C or D.
Google for ALV grid PDF and you'll find some documentation on ALV grids in general.

One would need to establish whether grid control is actually running first, by issuing an emctl status [db]console on the server where grid control is running.
Also: this is not a free support forum, and we are all volunteers.
Taking into account there are some basic troubleshooting steps you should have done yourself, your request can not be termed urgent, and must be considered rude.

  • Unable to connect to Database using Grid Control

    Hi,
I am attempting to connect to my Oracle Linux Machine which has 2 databases FROM my 10g Grid control which is on a Windows XP 32 bit.
Although I can login to the actual linux box with the host and database credentials ; I cant use the same to login to the database using Grid control.
I have tried testing the connection using Grid Control >> Preferences >> Preferred Credentials >> Host ; but its just not recognizing the credentials as correct.
When I attempt to startup the database using the host and DB credentials : ERROR MESSAGE : <servername> : <servername> comes up.
My agent on linux box is up. My Listener is running fine.
On my Grid control .. i have the DB, OMS, and Agent running as well.
Any inputs on this issue, I'd appreciate very much.

    Thanks for your reply.
Under Hosts on the Main Grid Console Home Page >> "server3.sam" Status shows UP. This server houses my 2 databases. But when I click on Databases >> it shows Instance DOWN.
    Status
    Failed
Details          Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
I have verified that my lsnrctl status is good on the linux box. My target agent is up and running on it as well.
    So I try to start the STARTUP button >> I enter the HOST Credentials of the Linux box and the Database credentials which I use "SYS" (in upper case - just in case that mattered) and choose SYSDBA ;
    Error Message
    server3.sam: server3.sam
I created a new dba account and try to login ... dont seem to work ; I tried using SYSTEM account and even altering my sys and system passwords .. all turn out negative.
And the ANSWER to your question ---> Grid Control >> Preferences >> Preferred Credentials >> Database Instance >> corresponding to my database name ; I enter my sysdba username / password AND the host username / password of my Linux box >> TEST >> which also turns out negative.
This entry is auto filled in since I "checked" the box "Save as Preferred Credential"; initially when I tried to start the DB using the STARTUP button.
By the way, my Win XP doesnt really have a password set under User accounts.
    Any suggestions please ?

  • Trouble with 10g after Installing Grid Control

Main problem: after installing Grid Control and rebooting, I can no longer access my databases.
I have 10g installed on a fairly decent Windows XP machine. It was running okay, but I had two Oracle database instance processes running at 200mb of RAM each (of a total of 1 GB of RAM), so it was a bit bogged down, as is to be expected when running Oracle as a server on Windows.
I then installed Grid Control, which seemed to go okay, and another database as well. But once the install completed, and I gained access to the Grid Control version of the OEM for the first time, that's when things got wacky. Connecting to any OEM instance started taking anywhere from 2-10 minutes, everything was bogged down considerably, etc. I tried shutting everything down and rebooting, but now things are worse. OEM is timing out and not finding servers, listener is timing out, etc. I've tried manipulating a few things in Net Manager (I noticed that my LISTENER section didn't seem to contain any data at all, and my databases weren't listed in there either) with no result.
I've also had trouble with "host credentials" and being able to administer the databases within the OEM, even after implementing a fix I had found to add my user name to a "log on as batch job" local security policy.
Finally, I noticed that after installing Grid Control, when I run "sqlplus", I now see "Oracle91 Enterprise Edition" instead of the "Oracle10g" it used to show (and I never had anything but 10g installed on this machine!).
Here's what happens when I try to access my dBs:
-When I try to launch the OEM connected to any of the 3 databases I created (which were previsouly running), the browser just times out with "page cannot be displayed".
-When I run "emctl start <ANYTHING>" I get file/path not found errors, and a file path with both forward and backward slashes (starting after the "agent" directory):
    C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent/<...etc.>
-When I try to test a connection to a service in Net Manager, I get this error:
    ORA-12557: TNS:protocol adapter not loadable
I had to manually add my listener info and databases info(under Service Naming) in Net Manager, but everything appeared fine in Oracle Directory Manager (unfortunately, that doesn't help much, since this is just a general info tool).
I am nothing near a DBA and my knowledge is limited, so I apologize for not being more consise, but I'd be glad to elaborate if someone could tell me what they need to know.
    Thank you,
    John

Yes; thank you both. Although I had 1 GB physical and 1.5 GB virtual memory configured, running Grid Control seemed to completely kill all available resources.
I have removed GC and its related database and applications, and I can again conncet to my databases via Database Control. Thank you.
By the way, another issue has arisen, seemingly in the aftermath of installing GC: my OEM Database Control instances now time out after about 60 seconds, logging me out each and every time. I have cookies enabled, but this doesn't seem to be the trouble. Is there a Web setting somewhere that will kick users out of the instance at timed intervals?

  • Installing Oracle 10g Grid Control on Winxp

  • Oem grid control URL

    Hi Gurus,
Sorry if this questions is too basic but i have a question-how to i find the exact URL to connect to grid control,i have checked $AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties and found two URL's , OMS and repository is on lnx50 box,but the actual URL to connect to gridcontrol console is different as shown below. Can anyone please shed some light on this...
    REPOSITORY_URL=http://lnx50.us.xxx.com:4889/em/upload/
    EMD_URL=http://lnx50.us.xxx.com:3872/emd/main/
    http://lnx50.us.xxx.com:7777/em/console/targets---URL for console
    Thanks

Using port 7777 you will access the OMS via the OracleAS Web Cache
Port 4889 shoudl be de default port to access the OMS directly usnig HTTP.
When you do: opmnctl status -l
you will see which ports are configured for HTTP access and access through the WebCache
Check <OMS_HOMKE>/sysman/config/emoms.properties for the port that is configured:
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.svlt.ConsoleServerName=
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.svlt.ConsoleServerPort=

  • EM Grid Control 10.2.0.2 and Connecting to 11g Database?

I am having a problem trying to the EM 10.2.0.2 connect to an 11.1.0.6 database. I can connect to the database without the EM, but with EM, I get teh following error:

I can connect to a 10g database (which holds the EM repository), but not the 11g database. Does anyone have any ideas? Is 11g not supported yet with EM 10g Grid Control?

  • Database patched 10.2.0.3-10.2.0.4 Error on Grid Control :Failed to connect

HI my patch was laready on 10.2.0.4 and just upgraded by databse from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4
though database and listener and agent are up and running at the OS
but on Grid Control I'm getting the error under
    'Agent'
Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available.
    Any Idea guys
    Thanks
    Gagan

I would check whether Oracle was still available. With the current state of Oracle software you never know.
If Oracle was available I would try to use sqlplus to connect to the database using the dbsnmp account.
If that works, it is SR time.
As you don't specify any O/S information, it is difficult to tell you more, especially as some releases of Oracle on some processors are flaky, and Oracle can not always reproduce the problems in house.
