Em12c changing oms server hostname - after install

I installed em12c R2 on a server with an incorrect /etc/hosts file. This has meant it has picked up in the configuration files the incorrect hostname.
Is there a straightforward way of changing an oms server hostname after install?

Depending on what you have configured, the steps are a bit different. Basically you need to backup and restore your configuration.
Follow the steps to completely backup your env (OMS, swlib, Repository, Agent, Inventory) for safe keeping. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/ha_backup_recover.htm#autoId4
Export oms config --> key piece here!
Screenshot the OMS agent targets for validation later
Shutdown OMS agent and remove agent targets/host/agent from EM (as these need to be renamed and restored as well)
Shutdown oms
Validate your DNS/hosts file is correct before proceeding!
Then you will follow one of the recovery steps documented (as the software restore portion is not required) - for example single oms, no slb, same host - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/ha_backup_recover.htm#autoId15
Recover agent
Check agent targets, may require refresh of WLS Domain to get all targets in correct status again

How to change (NT)Domain Name after installed ERP?

We are planning to change (NT) Domain Name on environment of already installed ERP/BW(WAS 6.40)/SRM/SolMan(NW 7.0).
We know SAP recommend that customer should be Re-install or System-copy SAP-System if the Domain name is changed after installed systems.
However, we do not have enough time and budget for doing that.
Questions:
1). If the (NT) Domain name will be changed, we only need to change the
OS users of service for SAP-System?
(I think that it is needed to change only OS-users of SAP-service. Is there other setting for that?)
2). The method of only changing users of SAP-service is not supported in this case?
(The customer will be not taken the SAP-Official support after doing that?)

Changing domain name is not supported by SAP if done in a productive environment (after systems have gone live).
You will probably not get support by SAP after you change the domain name once system is live.
There are a bunch of changes you will need to perform as well.
The domain name is probably existing in the RFC's and you cannot change all of those through SM59.
You will need to update those entries at Oracle level.

IN SM51- Need to change Application server hostname as small lock

In my SAP R3 4.6D system setup is like
1. R3 Database server (CI+DB) with one application server(DI). In Application server SM51 transaction screen application server host name is shows as Caps lock. But DB server hostname is in small lock.

Uanble to open the App server console after installing the Oracle soa suite

after installing the oracle soa suite 10.3.1.0 we are unable to open the application server console. it gives "page not found" error.
We have installed on a Win2000 server instance.
We have selected all the default values while installing.

We had the same problem today:
1. From cmnd line, from your ...\opmn\bin directory run "opmnctl startall".
2. That will tell you where the log files are and what they're called. If the log file error was like mine, "Could not reserve enough space for your object heap.", then you need to try setting your maxpermsize=128 in oc4j_opmn.xml and opmn.xml
This resolved the issue for me, hope it helps.

2 things to check:
1. Have you set the CLASSPATH correctly in the Weblogic->Server Start?
2. Are all the required jar files present?

500 Server Error after installing MSS

We are getting 500 server error message when click on a specific MSS role after installing MSS on top of existing portal. What could be the issue? Any pointers on where to look?

Removed all changes in Java source after installing Release 2 Update 1 Hot

I happened the same problem twice after installing Release 2 Update 1 Hot Fixes:
Operations as followed:
1. Open the project
2. Modify some source code of the backing bean and then save the modifications.
3. Click the design tab to display the UI of this page and click on a button.
4. Click the property 'action' of this button in the property tab.
5. The dialog shows and I choose 'Unset property'.
6. Go back to its backing bean and guess what...
7. All the changes I made in step 1 are all gone. The source code of the backing bean goes back to the status right after I opened Creator2.
I discussed the problem with my colleagues and they have similar situations after installing Release 2 Update 1 Hot Fixes. They may do some other things in the UI Design page and when back to the backing bean, the changes to the backing bean since Creator 2 is opened are all gone and the source code of the backing bean goes back to the status right after Creator2 is opened.

Server autoreboot after installing patch update

Wanna ask, today one of my servers was auto rebooted after installing one of the patch. Strange thing is I haven't deployed the patch but it seems to auto install on the server. From the WUAHandler I can see that Reboot Required = Yes. My question
is, which log file that I can see to know which deployment that causes this, that is currently deploying to my servers?

So, taking a step back here, as a point of reference, deployments don't "cause" reboots. The line you have highlighted above is an indication of the update itself requiring/requesting a reboot regardless of any deployment settings or system policies. It
does not in any way indicate that a reboot will happen.
The actual reboot will then be enforced by ConfigMgr based upon the setting of the deployment or it could be enforced by the Windows Update Agent (completely independent of ConfigMgr) if you have not disabled this activity.
So, first, you need to discover what enforced the reboot which could possibly have been caused by something completely different.

Hello everybody,
can somebody tell we where i could change the serial-nr. of
flash8/studio8 after installing the programm?
Even if i deinstall studio8 and then installing it again, the
serial-nr. stays there.
Is there a place in the registry where i can change the
number?
I am thankful for any good hint...!!!

alte Seriennr. erhalten.
Ich vermute sie hängt irgendwo in der Registry.
Dort traue ich mich aber nicht rein. Weiß auch nicht wo,
und wie man dort was ändern kann...

Changing hostname after installing 10g

hi, have installed the SSO login server, portal and relevant database on 3 different machines running Redhat linux enterprise 3 respectively.
for the login server, the initial hostname was the default localhost.localdomain.
what are the scripts to run on the SSO server and portal server if i need to change the hostname to sso.test.net?

From what I understand you cannot change the hostname on the infrastrcuture. Your best bet is to reinstall. In another post under technologies-linux, I note that the first line of the /etc/hosts is read by the installer, which is why your install defaulted to localhost.localdomain
So you need to edit your hosts file and put the real ip address and hostname first. Also, make sure you can ping the hostname on the first line as if it can't, the installer moves on to the second line of the file.
Usually the first line is going to be:
12.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain
So there will be lots of people making the same mistake that you and I did.

Hi Arun,
There is many reference in the config of the portal to the server name.
I doubt you will be able to do it without difficulties.
If you use KM, you will have trouble with internal links in documents. We had to install an apache server for redirection when we migrated/upgraded from EP6 SP2 to 2004s, because the server's name changed.
Also, you will need to reinstall the local edit activeX to your users.
I hope someone can answer you better than me.
There always the system copy option.

Activation server problem after installing IOS5

I have a very specific problem:
Last year in July 2010 my brother died, I got from his legacy his Iphone which was sold by T-Mobile. I requested T mobile to unlock (SIM) as I had a subscription of of KPN. Untill then everything worked okey.
In September I made a switch to another provider Telfort, still then no problem my Iphone worked in order.
Today I installed a new version of Itunes 10.5.0.042, Itunes asked to install also new software on my IPHONE. I don’t know if he made a back up of my Iphone.
After doing so I had to configure my I phone. But now the Iphone gives me a message that my Iphone can’t be configured as the activation server is temporarily not available.
By Using Itunes is also no option as itunes tries to connect to the IPHONE and itunes is stating that there is no SIM Card in the Iphone, of course rubbish as there is for sure a SIM card in my phone.

I lost EVERYTHING...contacts, music, etc.....the music stayed in my itunes so I was able to re load it manually, but my contacts were also erased from the computer and the back ups too....iOS5 ****** me off

Hi, Christina:
Go to the control panel and then to user accounts. Select the Change Your Account Name option. Change the account name from Test to Christina.
That should do it for you.
