EMac, Logitech webcam problem....

my mother has a eMac, she's running Mac OSX 10.3.9....
she's bought three separate logitech webcams: quickcam, quickcam deluxe, and the pro9000. none works on her computer. no software updates are necessary for her computer, we use skype, and it's also fully updated. she's tried all the usb ports on her computer, powering off and powering on, but the computer never seems to recognize the camera. no signs of life.
the strange thing is that she sent me the exact same webcam (quickcam for notebooks)... i've got an ibook g4-- and all i had to do was plug it in: it worked instantly without any install disk.
help! what could be the problem?

  • Camera app not working with logitech webcam with new windows 8.1 update

My Logitech camera app was working fine before win 8.1 update.
    ALL drivers are updated.
Camera works fine when I run Logitech program/software, just won't work with camera app included win windows 8.
I just get a dark screen.
I searched forums.  This appears to be a common problem.  Microsoft Techs just state uninstall camera app and reinstall.  But, this is an app that won't let me reinstall.  Plus, I search Microsoft Store and can't find the camera app.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks

I'm having more or less the same issue, but it extends beyond just the app. I'm replying here because this is the topic I was referred to by one of your support members on twitter and I'm trying to help keep things organized so that hopefully one day Microsoft
    can solve the issue.
I have the Logitech Webcam HD C 525 which worked perfectly fine on my Windows Vista Home Premium machine. I recently built myself a computer and purchased Windows 8.1 complete (I heard that you could chose the OS language and as I'm living overseas I was really
happy to finally be able to use Windows in English).
I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit and got around to installing skype on Christmas eve so I could video chat with my family back home. However, I ran into an annoying issue when trying to use the webcam. I installed the latest drivers and applications clean and straight
directly from Logitech, plugged in the webcam and it was not detected.
Following the troubleshooting info from Logitech, I then switched my camera from a USB 3.0 port to a 2.0 one, this shouldn't matter, but I tried it anyway. It changed nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times with no change.
After a bit of reaching out on twitter I had a friend suggest using ONLY the Microsoft drivers for my device. I COMPLETELY removed and deleted the device and drivers from my machine and then installed them using the info found here in the troubleshooting section:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/camera-app-faq.
I plugged my camera back into the 2.0 port and my camera flicked on for 2 seconds (preview included) then shut off again and told me it wasn't detectable. I opened Skype and it seemed ok. When it came time to actually Skype with my family skype could no longer
detect my webcam. It flicked on and off briefly and told me it wasn't detectable.
The current state of my webcam is that it is buggy and unreliable. Opening skype or the logitech app or ANY app that uses my camera yields the same result: an endless loop of my camera flickering on and off, and messages of "not detected" between
images from my camera. The camera still works on my old computer normally, thus it is not an issue with the camera itself.
I have read many people having my same issue with various webcams (not just Logitech because I briefly considered buying a Microsoft one) and the one thing in common was it was all on Windows 8.1
As posted in a few posts above I downloaded and ran Process Monitor while I opened skype and my camera sat through the endless detect/non-detected issue it has currently. I hope I have the log information saved correctly (if not I can re-do it, it is not difficult
to reproduce as it happens all the time). I could not figure out how to copy/pase the information in the log file, so here is a link to my log file:

The problem I have is that when I start a Facetime video conference, the picture is unstable (shakes and flashes) after a couple of minutes.
The webcam works well with Skype and Viber, the problem is just with Facetime.

  • I cannot get my Logitech webcam to work with Lync for Mac

I cannot get my Logitech Webcam or Cinema Display facetime webcam to work with MS Lync. Lync always uses the Macbook Pro's standard webcam and does not give any options anywhere to choose between video devices. The same webcam works with GotoMeeting, Viber, Skype and Google Hangout without any problems.
Does anyone know how I could get it working with Lync for Mac too? I have the Lync for 2011 version 14.0.7.

  • Logitech USB30 Headphones and Logitech WebCam Pro 4000 vs MSI Mega 180 Deluxe

    Hi!
I just found some problems related to the radio software/driver on my MSI Mega 180 Deluxe. I have installed all the latest software / drivers from MSI (including the bios) and i am using Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 installed.
The problem is that when i connect my Logitech USB30 headphones to this computer, and try starting the Radio application from MSI, i get an error mesasage saying there is no audio driver installed. And there is no sound at all. The USB headset is working 100% in all softwares like Windows Media Player and other sound applications (not related to MSI). I sent a support request to MSI, and they told me that this problem was related to my headphones. I did not accept that answere, because it does not make sense.. my headphones works perfect with any other computer and with any other software.
Then i connected my Logitech WebCam Pro 4000 to this computer (incl. the drivers) and the very same thing happened..The radio application told me there is no sound driver availible and the Listen Music application crashed by it self. The control panel now shows that there is no driver installed.. but when disconnecting the WebCam and reboot, the driver is ok again.. and the same thing happens when connecting the WebCam again.
Does anyone else got this problem, and did you solve it? How?

I don't have MSI radio installed, never have.  However, does MSI Radio provide tuner capabilities?  The ability to get radio stations?  If so, then perhaps whatever is providing the tuner capability is maintaining an IRQ that conflicts with the USB Headset and WebCam?
That's just a hypothesis.  Typically, when you have a IRQ conflict, you won't lose the driver in your Device Manager.  However, since everything in the Megas are USB driven, then there's a possibility that you would.

  • Facetime on Mac Pro with Logitech Webcam

I have a Logitech webcam that works just fine with Skype on my Mac Pro running the newest Snow Leopard. But, the new Beta Facetime for our computers is NOT finding my webcam. Is there something that I am missing?

How can I verify that the update was installed correctly? As I had to restart manually due to a program interfering with the auto restart after the update
I think the necessity of manual restart indicates that the Combo is NOT installed correctly. Freezing during the install is a sign that something is wrong:
      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4150
Perhaps your "interfering" program is incompatible with Snow Leopard:
      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3258
Unless you have a better plan or get better suggestions, I think it is time to start over. *_Backup your hard drive_*, "zero" the disk, reinstall Snow Leopard, and then apply the Combo Update.
*Do not install any third party software until your system is working and thoroughly tested.*
Once you have OS X working correctly and updated, install and test FaceTime with your Logitech cam before you spend the time restoring your important files form your backup.

    Hello
Page 91 of the English PDF User's Guide we may read:
+• To paste a copy of a formula in a different cell and use the same cell references in both+
+formulas, place a dollar sign ($) in front of column and row identifiers (=$A$1). This+
+technique creates what’s called an absolute cell reference.+
+For example, if the formula =A1 appears in cell D1 and you want to paste a copy of the+
+formula in cell E1, change the formula to =$A$1, select D1, copy it, and paste the copy+
+into E1. The formula $A$1 is copied into cell E1. If you didn’t change the formula to use+
+an absolute cell reference the formula in E1 would be =B1.+
This is a very old scheme and the User's guide is not complete
We may use two other kind of cells reference:
    =$A1
the column would be fixed but the row num would adjust
    =A$1
the row num would be fixed but the column would adjust

  • Ichat wont recognize my logitech webcam

hi-please help! my boyfriend bought me this logitech webcam that is compatible with macs...supposedly. however, it won't work with ichat. i dont think the cable is firewire, so can someone tell me whether or not it's compatible and if so, why won't it work. if it won't work because its not firewire (whats the difference? and what should a fire wire cable look like?) then is there anyway i can get a firewire adapter or something. if not, how can we get this thing to be recognized by ichat or is there some other program i can use? my boyfriend has a pc and plans on using AIM in order to connect with me via video, but it keeps saying that my computer does not have the capabilities. I have a ibook g4 laptop with mac os x 10.3.9.

  • I have logitech webcam exe files that I want to play on mac 10.8.2  Are there conversions to accomplish this?

I have old logitech webcam exe files that I want to play on Mac 10.8.2. How do I make conversions to accomplish this.

My son suggested a fix that worked for me.  I was trying to convert some videos taken 10 years ago using a Logitech Quickcam.  The videos were saved as video email player which made them exe files.  The fix is to use a screen capture program (we used Bandicam) to capture the video while playing the video file.  Had to save them as WMV files which I then converted to M4V files to play on my MAC.  I could size the capture window which made it a perfect fit to the video.  It turned out great as I now can play those videos in Windows Media Player, and Quick Time.  I am no longer in danger of loosing precious family videos.  Thank you for all your help.

  • "Capture device offline" - using Logitech webcam 9000

I am wanting to capture video using my Logitech webcam 9000, but I get "Capture device offline" in Adobe Premiere Pro when I attempt to capture video.  Could someone provide some guidance on how to get this to work?
I used this webcam to capture video in Corel Visual Studio just fine, but I am having issues in Adboe.
    thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.
Given that hardware, I would just continue using Corel. You can Export from it, or perhaps that would be a Save operation (do not know that software), and then Import those files into PrPro for editing.
I do not even think that OnLocation will be suitable for the hardware.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is the Logitech Webcam C930e fully Mac compatible?

    Hi:
I'm looking for a quality webcam that is fully Mac-compatible, which is to say that not only will my Mac Book pro running 10.7.5 recognize the camera, but that I'll also be able to use the camera and software for full functionality.
I'll use it to teach piano with skype or some other similar type of software, so the mountabilty/portabilty of the cam to get a good view of the piano is critical.
I'm also wondering how one might use 2 cams in tandem, switching between views of me speaking and demonstrating at the piano as needed, but at the moment that's a side technical issue that I'm guessing would not be difficult to overcome.
Thanks in advance for your responses,
    Michael

The Logitech support page says that the Logitech Webcam C930e is compatible with Macs running 10.7.x or greater so it should be compatible with your MacBook Pro.
If I were you, I would email Logitech support about the possibility of using a two-camera setup (or if there's software that offers PiP for Mac). See -> http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/webcam-c930e-business?crid=405.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
