Emac_monitor_problem_help

my emac monitor randomly shuts down displaying a single line in the middle of the screen. Believe it or not, my son got upset, whacked it on the side and it came back on. Problem is getting worse. I don't know the source of the problem. I would appreciate any advice/help.

That problem originally affected only the very first eMacs (700 mhz) that cannot run 10.5.8. It was a bad IVAD cable going to the monitor. What processor speed do you have? A fair number of 1.25ghz eMac have a near-fatal logic board issue that costs 3-4X what a used eMac is worth to fix.
