EMac RAM compatible with Power Mac G4?

I am interested in a craigslist auction that is selling RAM pulled from an eMac. All the information given is that he has two 168-pin DIMMs of 128MB and 512MB memory. Will this work with a Power Mac G4/400Mhz/AGP graphics version? It also uses 168-pin memory.
PowerMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4)   400MHz G4, 64MB RAM, 20GB HDD, AGP Graphics

Standard RAM for your G4 is 168-pin PC100. Early eMacs used 168-pin PC133 which should be backwards compatible but you need to get assurances. Later eMacs use 184-pin PC2700, same as the later G4 MDDs.
This RAM vendor's page has a good description of the RAM used in various Mac models. They also have decent prices so compare the price to what the private offering asks.

  • Is this RAM compatible with my Mac mini?

I'm looking into getting this RAM:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231069
and I was wondering if it would work with my Mac mini. It is teh basic Intel mini w/ teh 1.5GHz processor. I plan on getting 2 of these to fill up teh availible memory capacity.

Yes, the new Intel Mac Mini's use the same memory as the MacBook's. I installed the same SODIMM's I had in my MacBook into my new Mini and it worked just fine.
Looks like a fairly good price too.

I recently purchased a new power mac g5 dual processor which I spend most of my time on doing video and audio editing. I just began to investigate the cabalilities on output and input audio... so far I have only managed to discover the analog which is trivial. I need to understand what use is the optical digital in and out. I also would like to know what kind of divices I can use in the ports besides a digital surround sound system.
    All answers are appreciated!

You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express
    What happens?

  • Can I Run 333Mhz ram in a power mac g5 that uses 400mhz?

Can I Run 333Mhz ram in a power mac g5 that uses 400mhz?

No; RAM which can't keep up with the computer's bus will be ignored. Faster RAM will work as long as it's able to operate at the speed the bus requires.
In any case, ensure that the vendor advertises compatibility with your Mac model.

There are known technical issues with any older version on Yosemite, even CS6. Some can be worked out, others may not be relevant to you, some will remain unsolved.

  • Looking for a sports video camera that is compatible with the mac

Looking for a video camera that can record sports well and is also compatible with the mac. I've been using iMovie to edit videos for a highlight reel of my highschool soccer games that I coach.

I like Sony HD MiniDV (HDV) Handycam Camcorder - HDRFX1000, but I have also used several older Sony (DCR-TRV17 and DCR-TRV70) and Canon (VIXIA HV20, VIXIA HV30, and VIXIA HV40) tape-based Firewire-equipped camcorders with good results.
I prefer tape-based Firewire-equipped cameras because of their IEEE 1394 transfer speed, compatibility with iMovie HD, and ability to serve as the source recording directly into iMovie when desired.  If none of these characteristics is important to you, other Mac-compatible camcorders with suitable zoom ranges and lens speeds for the light levels you encounter should also do nicely for recording at your games.
You do not say which iMovie version you are using, but you can find about known compatible camcorders by searching for the info in a search like this one.

  • Is OCZ Vertex Turbo 60GB 2.5" SSD compatible with my Mac Pro, or do I need

Is OCZ Vertex Turbo 60GB 2.5" SSD compatible with my Mac Pro, or do I need the Vertex Mac Edition?
I have decided to purchase a SSD to use as a boot drive in the spare optical drive bay.
There are so many brands available, and Intel X25-M 'G2' seems generally to be the most highly rated overall. However, there is virtually no stock of 80GBs in the UK at present, except at extortionate prices, and I don't need 160GB.
Kingston SSDs are very reasonably priced, but seem to be a bit of an unknown quantity, although I rate their DDR3 memory very highly.
I have visited the websites of several manufacturers, and read various online reviews, and the recently introduced OCZ Vertex Turbo has had some good reviews, albeit on PC forums.
At the moment I can buy the 60GB Turbo for £170.66 inc.VAT from ebuyer.com, whereas their price for the standard Vertex 60GB is £193.99 inc. VAT, which seems very strange!
When I googled "OCZ Solid State Drives +UK", Amazon UK appeared on the listings, but there was a footnote which said " not suitable for use on Mac".
OCZ list a Vertex Series Mac Edition on their website, and that is why I am asking this question.
Unfortunately, there are no UK listings when I google the Mac Edition, and I am hoping that somebody of the ilk of "the hatter" or "samsara" will be able to answer my question.
If anybody else is using the Vertex Turbo in a Mac, I would be very grateful for your input. Likewise if you have had bad experiences with OCZ SSDs.
If I wait 3-4 weeks I should be able to buy an Intel X25-M G2 80GB for round about the same price as the Vertex Turbo 60GB, i.e. if prices remain the same as currently being quoted by vendors who are out of stock.
All input will be very gratefully received. If it is positive, I will go ahead and order a Vertex Turbo from ebuyer, in case they run out of stock (which is 16 at present).
    Many thanks in anticipation, guys!

    Hi Samsara,
Many thanks for your advices once again.
60GB will be more than adequate as my boot drive. At the moment I am using a VelociRaptor 300GB, and I have used less than 30GB of space. That is after reinstalling all my applications and software, and includes all my files, folders, and printer drivers etc.
I have utilised under 50GB of the original 640GB hard drive, but that includes a lot of photo images which I imported into both iPhoto and Aperture.
When I receive my Agility EX SSD I will clone from the VelociRaptor using Super Duper, and I will then set up a 4 drive RAID 0 using 4 VelociRaptor 300GB disks. That set up should suit my needs for many years to come, even when I eventually upgrade from Photoshop Elements 8 to CS5.
I will back up the Agility EX to the 640GB hard drive using Super Duper Smart Update, and that will be my spare boot drive.
The 4 drive RAID 0 will be backed up to the My Book Studio Edition II 2TB, using Time Machine.
In your experienced opinion, do you think that set up will be satisfactory?
The Agility EX is actually the latest generation of OCZ SSDs, and it is one of only 2 models in their "Maximum Performance" range, whereas the original Agility was only a "Mainstream" model.
The key factor is that the Agility EX uses single-level cells (SLC), instead of multi-level cells (MLC). It is second only to the Vertex EX Series in terms of performance per GB in the OCZ range of SATA 2.5" Solid State Drives.
In very recent reviews it has outperformed both the Vertex Turbo and Vertex 120GB models from the OCZ "Performance" range in most of the test benchmarks.

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-agility-ex-ssd-60gb-review-test/3
The above are just a few of the very favourable reviews of the Agility EX SSD.
I preferred to buy a 60GB SLC, rather than a 120GB MLC, because SLCs reputedly have 10 times more life expectancy, and performance wise per GB there is no comparison.
Only time will tell if I have made the right decision!

  • HT1338 I cant get my iphone 5 to be compatible with my mac book pro. I've been trying to update my itunes but it wont let me because it tells me i dont have the right software is there anything that I can do so I can sync my phone to computer?

I cant get my iphone 5 to be compatible with my mac book pro. When I plug the iphone 5 in it tells me that i need a newer version of itunes 10.7 and I currently have 10.6. I checked for updates in my itunes and it says i dont have any. So i have gone to the itunes website to try and redownload itunes which i believe it 11.7. When I try and download that version it tells me the software on my computer doesn't suppor that version. I try to update my software and it says there is not software updates available right now.  Is there anyway I can get my iphone 5 to synce to my itunes?

In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard, preferably the full 10.6.8 combo updater.

Other than the MAC hardware available from Apple, what hardware is compatible with the Mac OS? Is there any AMD compatible hardware or other Intel 64 bit hardware that is compatible with the OS?
Like the Mac Pro but ...   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Boing;
If you feel that way, you are out of luck. Besides not working well at all, it is illegal.
