EMac speaker Grills

Hi, I have an eMac 700 Mhz with the original eMac speaker grills. Can I switch them out with the newer ones (on the eMac 1Ghz and up)? I saw on a website they have four indents on the side, so will they fit correctly? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can, but there's one easy way to find out for sure

  • Speaker grill moving

Hi I have a problem with my iphone 4s. The speaker grill which you use to listen to on calls can move. It is not in a fixed position. You can move the grill to the right and you can see the speaker. I think that the speaker grill was not glued on properly and it is really easy to move. Can apple fix this?

You are correct. All iPhone 4S have full Warranty Coverage, make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution. The Apple Store will not fix it, they will give you a perfect replacement iPhone 4S just like yours.
The earspeaker mesh is held in place to the back of the front screen glass by simple adhesive. If you like, move the mesh back to center, use a pin point to carefully help if you need. Then push firmly on the front glass at the ear hole to get the adhesive to re-adhere. If Apple forgot to put adhesive, then this will not work to well.

  • How can I clean stuff that got under the speaker grille?detergent particles

Well I spilled some laundry detergent near the Macbook Pro, and some of the particles got under the speaker grille. It's mainly a cosmetic problem because everything still works perfectly fine, but I was just wondering if anyone have any suggestions on how I can get all the detergent particles out from under the speaker grille... I tried vaccumming them out, but no luck.
    -Thanks

    Welcome to Apple discussions!
No ideas, but I would be concerned about it. You might want to read the ingredients list on the detergent box and see what they are. Detergents can contain a variety of caustic chemicals like sodium carbonate. It's humid in Sugarland and the humidity could get to those fine grains and stick them to the I/O board and whatever else is in there. Over time, no telling what it might do to the traces. So there could be trouble on down the road. You might want to consider having the computer opened up and the particles removed by a professional, particularly if you are under warranty. Apple doesn't cover accidental damage, but possibly your homeowner's policy might.
    Good luck!

  • Green LED under left speaker grille

    Hello,
I noticed there is a tiny green LED that is visible under the left speaker grille on my MacBook Pro 17".
It is not visible from directly above, but is quite visible from normal typing position in an office.
The light shines from a single hole in the left speaker grille (the array of perforation holes from which the sound comes) next to the keyboard.
The hole is in row 4 from the front (front means the part of the Mac closest to me when typing) and column 15 from the right. I am average height and it comes into view and disappears if I move my head forward toward the Mac and back within a range of 10cm.
It is not the caps lock light, rather it is a very tiny bright green LED. It isn't ugly, though it does distract my eye.
Perhaps it is a RAM logic related light, or something related to the microphone, the ambient light sensor. What is it, and can it be turned on and off?

Hi Matt, I read your post some time back and wondered myself. I have seen the light after I took the top cover off for other reasons. Last night it dawned on me what it was. There are two, one is on the other side under the right grill. They are optical sensors that control the back lighting for the keyboard. During the day, put your hands over the two grills. The screen will darken and the keyboards back lighting will come on.
    Hope this ends the mystery.
    Cheers,
    Glynn

  • Speaker grille

Speaker grille of my z1 peeled off and I want it to be replaced. Also ring around the power button also fell off and port covering usb charging slot also loosen up. So I want these minor physical changes. Whats the procedure to have them replaced. I bought it on 22 nov 2013.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi.
I also had a problem with my USB port flap. I broke it and I needed to replace it. So i bought a set of flaps online from this site: http://www.witrigs.com/oem-usb-data-micro-sd-sim-card-block-covers-replacement-parts-for-sony-xperia... They work perfectly. I would also suggest you to buy a docking station so you don't have to open the flaps every time you have to charge the phone, they will loosen and water will get in.
As for the speaker grill, you shouldalso find one online and be able to replace it by yourself.
    Good luck!

  • Z1 ASF Scuff and Speaker Grill

Hello, I have had my z1 for awhile now and a few days ago I put it in my pocket and it received a large scuff, id say 90% of the screen is affected. I think it's poor build quality I can see why they left it off the Z2.
I know it will require a new digitizer, and was wondering how expensive it will be to get fixed? As if it's too much I may as well pay for an early upgrade. Also the speaker grill fell off I'm assuming it's under warranty, as the adhesive is appalling. It fell off by using the phone in water, which is a massive design flaw. I can state that even with it falling off, my device is still waterproof and sees water on a daily basis.

  • Check your speaker grill

    Hi all,
    for my late mbp
on both side of my speaker grill, right side seems perfectly fine
but when i touch the left side, there's two small batch of the holes feel very rough
when I take a closer look, the holes looks weird, I'm sure this is manufacture defect.
do you think I can return it?
    Does anyone have this too?

  • Z1 Speaker Grill Missing!

I had my Xperia Z1 for 5 months, and these last few days I noticed that the speaker grill went missing, and I can't find it anymore. Does the phone still waterproof even the mesh is missing? The exposed part looks delicate and may be punctured accidentally if I leave it exposed.

Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

  • Ipad 3rd gen speaker grill.. is this normal?

I have a tiny pin protruding from my ipad 3rd gen speaker grill.
It pushes in and springs back out like a switch but never noticed it in 2 years.
Does anyone know what this is?

    sorted....
it was a bit of propelling pencil lead that had got itself in there...

  • Left speaker grille slightly raised..

I tried searching for anything related to this, but as many keywords that I've tried, nothing really matched up.
I got my Macbook Pro in August. I want to say around September-October is when I noticed that the left side speaker grille (just above where headphones can be plugged in) was slightly raised up in the middle. If I try to push it down, it gradually comes right back up. Nothing else on that side is raised, just about an inch in the middle. I do not recall doing any sort of activity that would possibly make this side raise like this, since I keep it on my desk. It's not like I can see the inside of my computer, so it's not like it's this outrageous opening where particles could get inside. It's just sort of there, and I'm kind of getting annoyed/worried with it.
Any help or advice with this? I could post a picture in the next couple of hours if anyone needs a visual.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you got your MBP in August, then it should still be under warranty. I would call Apple or take it in to an Apple Store and ask about this. The problem with a bulge is that it could press on your display when you close the computer and possibly cause damage. This makes it more than just a cosmetic problem.
I have read various problems with warping, although nothing quite like this. But it shouldn't be doing it at all. I would consider it some sort of a flaw in the manufacturing process that should be fixed under warranty.
There is a screw on the side of my MBP in the vicinity of the headphone jack that engages a tab on the upper case. It may be that for whatever reason, the screw on yours is not engaging the tab and therefore allowing the grill to bulge up. But Apple would have to look at it and see what's wrong.
    Good luck!

  • Speaker Grille Stuck in eMac

I wasn't thinking, and my eMac was really loud all the sudden, so I covered the speakers (while I was turning down the volume), but I pushed the right one too hard, and now the grille won't come out. I've tried using a paperclip to get the grill pulled out, but its really wedged in there.
    My question:
How can I get the grille out?
If you need a picture, I'll provide one if needed. Thank you!

You will have to use a little more force, slightly more than the amount that pushed it in.
The white plastic just presses into the silver ring, so see if you can fashion a couple of paper clips to form smooth narrow hooks, and hook one _each side_ on the outer ring of holes, and with a two pair of pliers holding tight the 'hooks', firmly pull.
If you can first get the speaker cover to sit parallel again, it should be easier to pull out.

  • IPhone 4 phone speaker not working

Have seen a lot of posts on this issue, but not as much recently, at least nothing with a working solution.
2 days ago, the phone ear speaker stopped working on my iPhone4.
    -Speakerphone still works
    -Earbuds still work
-Mouthpiece still works (others can hear me).
-Cannot hear voicemails through the ear speaker either.
    I have tried:
    -Restore via iTunes
    -Reset via phone
    -Cleaning the ear phone port
    -Cleaning the ear speaker grill
    I have a 15 month old iPhone 4 running OS 5.0.1
    Any ideas out there?

I had this exact problem. I upgraded to 5.1 and thought that WAS the issue. BUT I found a person who said they pressed around the earphone jack and ear speaker and got theirs working. So I took the phone out of my Otter Box and did that, it still didn't work... BUT the struggle of getting the phone back in the Otter Box apparently triggered something that worked as everything is back to normal... for now. So it was a harware issue. Hope this helps!
