Emacs: (Xe)LaTeX: going to error line

Question

Hi,
On prompt, I'm doing C-c C-l, getting the error list in a buffer like *~/.../MySoruceFile output*
It should be possible to get at the source line indicated by its number; that's one of the things Emacs has been made for, isn't it? It must be documented, too. Unfortunately, I'm new to Emacs and haven't yet mastered the parlance. Where am I supposed to look, what keywords to check?

Instead the add-hook thing I put this in my .emacs:
(setq TeX-engine 'xetex)
It works exactly like the previous solution: no worse but no better
I got the idea here. They talk a lot about the emacs learning curve; how very true...
The original syntax differs obviously, for one thing:
%%% TeX-engine: default
Looks vaguely suggestive of TeX syntax; could it be so?
What exasperates me still more, is that Google is full of year or two old solutions to most everything about emacs, which happen to be quite outdated and useless.
