Email Account Icon won't go away

I have three email accounts set up on my 8330. I am no longer using one of them, so I deleted it using the email account setup application on the device, as well as going online to my Sprint BlackBerry account and deleting it there. The icon is still appearing on my device, and for some reason, is now the default account for sending emails. Since the account has, in fact, been deleted, emails don't actually go through from this account. It's a huge pain to keep remembering to change the account I send emails from. On a side note - I have also changed my settings to use a different account as my default account - it doesn't make a difference. The settings are right when I check them, but when I test them, the old (deleted) account is still the default. What am I missing?? How can I get rid of this account once and for all? I really don't want to wipe my device and start over... Thanks in advance for your help!

Options > Advanced > Service Books... find and locate the TWO entries related to that account, one each for [cical] and [cimime].

Email Account Icon doesnt work

I have a blackberry Bold 9900 or bold 5, but the email account icon doesn't work, it used to initially then all of a sudden whenever I click on it then to add an email account , it says update needed, I did update to version 7.1 but till now the email account icon doesn't respond @ all
. Every other function on the phone works apart from this email account in the set up wizard column.
Please how do I resolve this issue.

I have duplicate email accounts icons, NOT recieving duplicate emails just two of the same email icons

I had a blackberry curve 8310 with ATT. I transferred carriers and got a new bold 9650 with sprint. I transferred data from old curve to new bold. But the old email didn't work on new bold. So I went to set up BIS with sprint, it added email account that works. But now I have two icons with the same email address. One works and one doesn't so it is confusing when I am selecting address to compose email. How do I delete email icon/account. I hid the icons but when composing email, it still shows two of the same email in the From:

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

New email account just won't work

I've been using an email account on my mac for years, as well as my .mac account as a secondary email. both worked fine. my missus has now opened an account with virginbroadband and we get all of our email, phone, broadband from them. everything works except her email.
we've been onto their tech heloand they don't know what the problem is. if we go to their website and log in to her webmail the account is working fine and we ca see all the greetings messages etc, but we've set up a new email address on my mac but it won't connect - the account name in the 'mailbox > inbox' column on the left shows my account, fine, but next to hers is i litlle zigzag meaning can't connect. when you try, it asks for a password; we put in the same password that works on the webmail but it says password rejected in Mail.
Virgin have reset the password, without success. I went in to her webmail and changed the password to something completely different, but that hasn't worked either.
Any ideas anyone, because virgin broadband don't have any idea!
and by the way, i went into a virgin broadband shop and asked and they had less idea than me 13 year old son!!!

I've deleted and just remade the dodgy account. no luck.
The answers to alll the other questions are 'yes'!
then i ran connection doctor - it shows 4 connections, two are my .me account (i guess that's incoming and outgoing for my own email account?) and two connections for VirginMedia, one of which says "connection to this server succeeded, log in not required" while the other says "trying to log in to this pop account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct". They are the same username and password that work if i go to webmail in safari.
the relevant part of the connection doctor details seem to be "READ Apr 17 18:59:02.539 [kCFStreamSocketSecurityLevelNegotiatedSSL] -- host:pop3.virginmedia.com -- port:995 -- socket:0x1181be8d0 -- thread:0x1181d9760
-ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted."
not that any of that means much to me except "computer says no".

Cannot set up BIS account without "email accounts" icon!

Hi everyone,
I have had a Blackberry Curve 9300 for about a year now and haven't bothered with getting emails set up, but now I really need to. I know that you have to create a BIS account, but I'm using Bell and the only way on their website it says to do that is by going through the BB "Email Account" setting. However, my icon has completely dissapeared. I have tried doing "Show All" but that doesn't work. It's just gone. Someone said I need to download Service Book from BIS BUT I don't yet have a BIS account... so i can't do that. Hitting a bit of a wall here. Any ideas?

I really can't tell you much else without asking a ton of questions.
Honestly, best (and fastest) thing for you right now is to call Bell customer service.
And remember, a data plan is not necessarily a BlackBerry data plan. Must be BB-specific, aka BIS.
For whatever reason, you don't seem to be on it now.
If you want to troubleshoot a bit first, you can try the suggestions I just gave to another poster first:

Email Account Icons...

Is it possible that the email accounts we have configured would have their own icons like, Gmail would have its own icon same goes for yahoo and hotmail email, because right now all email accounts have same icons displayed.

You can always go Resend your service books now and then, and see if anything changes.
On your BlackBerry device, go to:
Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
From your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Icon won't go away

I have this icon that wont go away dont know what it is for................. just a app icon that says "Waiting" below it... never downloads anything... when I go to App Store > Purchased > all my apps are already installed so no clue what it is.....
It will go away briefly but then come back its very strange.... I have tried turning off phone, hard resetting phone... Then even hold down to see if let delete it but when all the other icons wiggle this one doesn't have the x to delete.............

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

On my lock screen the camara icon won't go away I double click the home button but the camera icon won't go away

On my home lock screen the camera icon is in the right hand corner and it wont go away!! I've tried the double click the home button but the camera icon still wont go away I dont how to take it off maybe you guys could help me

I know like I click the camera icon then it signals me to drag the screen up and i drag it up and it takes me to camera mode i just wanna know how do you take it off

Previously working email account now won't send mail

I have several email accounts on both my iPad and iPhone. One of them on the iPad has stopped sending mail from one fo the accounts, but continues to receive mail. I haven't changed anything - and before I began to fault find, the settings on both devices were the same (with the spole exception of the Outgoing Server Port which was 110 on the iPad and 995 on the iPhone.
I have deleted the account on the iPad and recreated it - I changed the Server Port of 110 to both 995 and later to 25 (having seen on a forum somewhere else, being told that 'this will solve the problem').
Nothing changed. Can still receive mail into the account, but replies to messages and new mail messages don't leave - the error message is that the mail has been 'rejected by server.
On my iPhone, laptop the account works fine.
Anyone able to help - I've Googled but dont' seem to find any reason why a perfectly good, working account should suddenly stop working when nothing has been changed to cause it to stop, or any other advice other than changing the Outgoing Server Port. - Which I've done to both 995 and 25 (from the original 110)

Port 25 may not work on some WiFi hotspots or the EDGE network, or may only send to some recipients but not others. Many email providers will also set up their SMTP servers to listen for authenticated connections on either port 465 or 587.

Have you tried a manual setup?
After you have entered your information at the first setup window hold the alt (option) key down as you click on continue and that should allow manual setup. You'll obviously need the correct email credentials/POP or IMAP and SMTP details to input.

Email notification icon won't disappear

Dear Nokia Team,
I use my 5800XM to read my emails on my Gogglemail-Account via Mail for Exchange.
I got the common problem, that the "new mail"-notification icon on the top-right corner of the screen won't disappear, although all emails ar marked as read and my mail-inbox doesn't count more then 100 mails.
This thread says, that the only way around this issue is to hard reset the phone. I did a hard reset on my phone an everything seemed to work just fine, but the issue returned after a few days.
This bug is really annoying - please help me!

.mac sync icon won't go away!

Unexpectedly at the bar on the top of the screen, I get a ".mac sync" icon. I do not have a .mac account, and never had. I believe this icon showed up after I installed the latest Safari update, but I'm not certain. When I go to preferences, it simply tells me that I don't have a .mac account (my .mac member name or password is missing it says) so I can't remove the icon from the bar on top.
Anybody know how I can get that .mac sync icon at the top of my screen to go away?

Disk burn icon won't go away?

I burned a DVD and even after I ejected it, the Burn DVD icon alias won't disappear from the sidebar in the window. I tried dragging it out to the desktop so it would "poof" away, but it just goes back to the sidebar. It's so annoying. Any ideas about how to get rid of it? thank you!

I have a new email notification that won't go away, (Exchange), though I do not have a new email. How do i resolve this?

I have a notification for my Exchange account saying I have a new email. Though, I don't and there are no unread emails in that account. How do I get rid of this? Any ideas?

Try tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your Exchange account > turn Mail off and see if the badge goes away. Then turn Mail back on for the Exchange account.
If that doesn't do it, you can try restarting or restoring the iPhone.

DnD icon won't go away on Redhat 9

Background:
I recently updated my OS to RedHat 9 (2.4.20-6). Previously on Redhat 7.3 (kernel upgraded to 2.4.18ish) everything worked OK.

Problem:
After dragging and dropping an object the drag icon/cursor turns black/reverse-video and does not go away until I drag another object or move the icon/cursor out of the window. The problem did not occur before my upgrade so I imaging it is not a java problem. I would like to know if anyone can repeat the problem or if anyone else has seen it. One Caveate... if you do anything after the drop that causes an icon repaint (like the OptionPane that is commented out in the code below) the problem does not appear. I have not been able to reproduce the problem outside of java.
