Email account not syncing

Hi,
I have a Godaddy email account I am trying to sync with Thunderbird on an iMac. Thunderbird found the account settings. I got an error message which does not fully appear on my mac screen. It says, "Alert from account... The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for acc..."
I called Godaddy and they verified all the information such as incoming and outgoing servers, port numbers, and SSL settings was accurate.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Tried the text message back up settings without success. Ended up deleting the account and resetting up and, along with the below suggestion from the MS message board, it appears to have worked. The error code I received was 80004005.
from MS - "go to Settings - date +time, setup manually/Auto-off. Then Soft Reset the phone and try again to sync; To perform the Soft Reset, please press the Power button down, hold, than slide down the message on the screen. The phone will switch off. Next please Turn On the phone back again.to turn the phone"

Hi,
Two queries here, first - when i go through the step by step wizard of setting email and select the hotmail option - it eventually comes to a "nokia user ID and password"??? i input the one i used for the nokia discussions user ID and password; but it still did not work?
Second, once I used another setting (not hotmail), i used "Other"; my email does not sync with my actual hotmail account - it did download however.
So, if i received an email - on my phone it would pop up; however, if i delete the email on my phone - on my real account it still would not delete?
Please help!!

oh days? lol, it should happen with a couple hours at the most.
Are you certain you've got your device PIN registered on your service provider's network?
I would suggest you double check with them that ALL is correct and your plan is correct. It must be if you are able to login to your BIS BlackBerry account site.... but still, if not email is setup after "days" you've got some larger problem.

Email account stopped syncing. Not listed in settings, but won't let me add account

My main email account (gmail) stopped working on my ipad last week. It doesn't sync--no incoming or outgoing--and I get an " IMAP error" pointing me to account settings to verify login info, but the account isn't listed there for me to check settings or to delete..
When I try to add the account, it says that it IS already on my ipad. I have 3 other gmail accounts on this device and they all work fine. But with my primary account not working, the ipad is nearly useless!
The only solutions I can find online say to verify settings or delete / re-add account, but no can do.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Email app not syncing Godaddy email accounts.

All,
I have the S3 and approximately one week ago, the email app stopped syncing my 2 Godaddy email accounts. The email app for Gmail is still working.
I've gone into
Settings > Application Manager > All > Email > Clear Data
and then again setup my Godaddy email accounts. This then syncs all the email again and I will get all current messages in my mail spool. However it goes right back to not syncing anything new.
I've tried putting it in airplane mode as I saw a post that that may help, but no. I've also removed the battery and let it sit, to see if that had any affect, but again no.
Has anyone else ran into this and if so, what have you done to correct this.
I am aware of the godaddy app, however I'd rather not use this, I kinda prefer the native samsung email app.

If you search on this forum and compare popular web hosting providers like Bluehost, Hostgator and Godaddy you will see many users have such problems with their email apps. First it seems your problem comes from your cellphone. But it is surprising that I had the same problem when I had a web and email hosting account with Godaddy and their customer service couldn't solve my problem and finally I moved my email hosting account to Bluehost and the problem automatically was solved, without any action!
So I recommend to you and any other users with similar problems to change your email hosting provider. Now that you are unhappy with Godaddy I recommend to try http://www.bluehost.com or http://www.hostgator.com companies.
I have the S3 and don't have any problem with syncing my Hostgator email accounts. So If I were you first I'd try Hostgator.

My work address and my email will not sync

I have a black berry curve and my new work email is <Personal Content Removed> and it will not sync for me to get emails on my blackberry. I tried using the enterprise and the internet options and does not work. When I use the enterprise I do get an immediate email from blackberry but nothing ever synchs. When I try using the internet option is just says it is invalid. Any help for my IT team would help me out. Thanks

If your company has BES, then you need to talk to the BES admins. If they don't have BES, then you cannot use the Enterprise configuration at all. If, and only if, your email faces the internet, then it should be able to be configured for your BB.
If it's POP/IMAP, see this procedure:
KB10154 How to integrate a POP or IMAP email account through advanced integration
If it's OWA, then see this procedure:
KB03133 How to integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
If you don't know which it is, then you'll need to ask your IT folks. If they don't face your email to the internet, then there is nothing you can do.

My email will not sync

This is obviously not a new problem because I read many discussions on the topic. I have more than one email account, one from work - an Outlook account- and my personal one, a sbc global account. They do not sync my email in real time. My work account syncs maybe 1X per day. It is truly annoying especially when I am out of the office and need that account. I have tried all of the helpful hints- tried to sync every 5 minutes, told it to sync 300 messages, made it my primary account- and nothing works. Verizon- you need to find a solution and from the posts, there are many with the same problem. What gives? Admit there is a problem and put it in the next update.

Multiple email accounts auto sync no smtp settings transferred

I have about 7 email accounts set up in Mac Mail. When I sync these to my iphone the outgoing server (smtp) settings don't transfer and I need to type in each one for each separate account. Really quite a pain.
Anyone know how to make the outgoing server info sync over automatically so that it's the same as what I set up on the computer?

Hi, thanks. They're not. One is a hotmail account and one a BTconnect. I can see what you're saying... the outgoing primary mail server in settings is set differently for each account.
The outgoing server for hotmail is set at smtp.live.com and the BTconnect is smtp.btconnect.com.
If I go into outgoing servers on the hotmail account it allows me to turn off all other servers listed, including the BTconnect one. BUT when I go into the BTconnect one to turn off the hotmail one, it's greyed out and won't let me... very confusing/frustrating!

Multiple email accounts got synced on accident when I synced with .Mac

Yesterday when I did the sync with my .Mac account it gave me a warning that it was going to update alot of emails... thinking nothing of it I said yes. What I did not realize it that it synced all of my roommates email accounts and contacts that he has in his own user profile on my computer. Does anyone know how to go about reversing a Sync? I need to get his email accounts out of mine, and all that good stuff.

I have set-up all 5 accounts on the iPhone but due to wanting all my emails in one single inbox (.Mac inbox) it doesn't give me the option to choose which account I wish to reply from, therefore if I do send from one of the other accounts it doesn't show the sent item in my .Mac account which kind of defeats the object of trying to synch my email!

My husband and I have always shared a personal email account. We got iPhones a year ago and each set them up to view our shared email. He also has a separate email account for work. Unfortunately, when either of us takes a "note" on the notepad or sets an alert on the calendar, it shows up on the other person's phone. I assume these aps use the email to sync? Is there a way to manage this so that we can share email but not the other stuff? We set up separate iCloud accounts with separate apple ID's thinking that would do it but it didn't change anything.

goto settings>mail,contacts,calenders>accounts and under your shared email account disable notes and calender.

Exchange email account not showing up in itunes

My exchange email account isn't showing up in itunes for sync with my iphone.
Why?

I'm not sure the option is available with an Exchange account.
If your employer supports accessing your company Exchange account with an iPhone and this is set up on the Exchange Server, you can manually create the account on your iPhone.
The iPhone will try to automatically discover your Exchange server. If you don't have Exchange 2007 with Autodiscovery turned on, it will fail and warn you that it couldn't validate your account. You will have to manually enter your server name in the window. Make sure you enter your ActiveSync server name, not the OWA server (as in Entourage) or the real Exchange server (as in Outlook).

IMAP sent emails & drafts not syncing - MS Outlook 2007

Hello, I am having issues syncing the sent items from desktop outlook 2007 to my passport. I have been trying this figure this out for the past 3 days and hoping someone here can be of some assiastance. I have done the following:- checked the outlook save sent option- deleted and reinstalled email account multiple times on both ends - outlook and passport- been on the phone with BB tech supprt - file logs have been sent to their escalation team. everything seems normal- been on the phone with my site host - bluehost. everything looks good on their end In a nutshell: - when i send an email from my desktop outlook (2007) i do not get a copy of the sent mail on my device- when i send an email from my device (passport) i do not get a copy of the sent mail on my desktop outlook- i also do not get draft copies going both ways- everything worked fine in BB OS 7 The link from this seems to be broken - https://clients.websavers.ca/whmcs/knowledgebase/115/Keeping-your-Sent-folder-in-sync-across-devices.html From what i have been reading many people seem to have this issue. If using an SMTP relay for out going emails on an IMAP account, the Passport wont keep a copy that you can save this is true with Outlook as well if this is a personal email account, i would suggest using Outlook.com to pull your emails from this account so you can use Active Sync and get the Outlook.com connector for outlook 2007 with the new email account. then setup Passport with Active sync. you wont miss any messages since it will pull from old account and everything will sync nice with out the need of other software or cables

HT201342 my .mac email is not syncing with iCloud and I cannot access on iPad

I am trying to access my .mac email on my iPad. When I go to set up the account, it says it's already connected through iCloud, but the inbox is empty and I cannot figure out how to sync correctly. Same issue with my iPhone - no longer able to view or send .mac messages from that device. I have an older eMac (roughly 5 years old) and do not have the upgraded OS, but cannot imagine that an OS upgrade would be required to continue to access the paid email service.
Frustrating!

For icloud email on your device, you must have icloud turned on, but also have the Mail app set up to connect to icloud. In Settings>Mail, Contacts,... look in the Mail section under Accounts. You must set up your icloud email account there in order to use the Mail app to read and send emails.
