Email account settings
Help. I just got the z10 today and set up two email accounts. One I finalized only syncing my calendar and meant to do email too. How do I change the settings to sync email. I do not see an option to edit the settings. Thanks in advance for any help with this. :/ frustrated
Hi and Welcome to the Community!
If you go into Settings > Accounts, and then tap the account, you will be in the edit mode of the account, and the "what to sync" stuff should be at the bottom. If not, then I'd suggest removing and re-integrating the account, this time selecting only the things you desire.
Good luck!

I recently acquired a new iPad air (first time ipad user) and while I am quite happy with icloud, I seem to be unable to sync all of my remaining email account settings (automatically) with apple mail under OS X Mavericks.
I simply want to use all of my email accounts, which are setup in Mail (on my imac) with my iPad without having to add them manually to my iPad. This used to be no problem with all previous versions of OS X. Email account settings could be synchronized using the respective tool located within the info tap in itunes.
Are there any solutions?
Do I really have to add each and every email account now separately to all of my idevices???
This is ridiculous!!!Unfortunately there seems to be no practical solution. You will have to go through the hassle of setting up your accounts manually.
Strange enough though, when setting up my new macbook (clean install, no data migration) all e-mail accounts where setup automatically through icloud (yes, even my non-apple accounts).
I guess and this is a rough guess that this is supposed to work with all other idevices too. -
Email Accounts settings is grayed out. What can I do?
Hi,
The Email Accounts Settings has been grayed out. I cannot make any changes to my current email accounts, add new, or delete old email accounts. How can I ungray it?In my case, no restrictions are enabled. Accounts still grayed out. I was forced to change my appleid password and now everything is dorked up. I have gone everywhere I know to put in the new password. It works on the phone and on my computers, but not on the iPad.

TS3899 what are the email account settings for att.yahoo
At the same time on the same day my iMac, iPhone and iPad all stopped sending and recieving email....I can connect to att web mail and get email but my mac products quick working....what gives?
Did you know the servers have changed;
SBC Yahoo Email & News Server Info
To set up your email client (not webmail) to use the newest "New and Improved" secure access:
1. Open your email client program.
2. Locate the email account settings for your particular client.
3. Change or set the POP (incoming) server to
inbound.att.net.
4. Change the SMTP (outgoing) server to
outbound.att.net.
5. For inbound email, connect securely over the standard
POP3 SSL
port: 995. Use username and password. Do not use "Secure Password
Authentication".
6. For outbound email, connect securely over the standard
SMTP SSL
port: 465. Use the same credentials as for the inbound email. -
Transfering Email Account Settings to IMail?
Is there an easy way to transfer "outlook 2007" Email Account settings to IMail? I have roughly 10 email accounts, and rather than putting them all in by hand, I would rather do it automatically if there is a way... I have MobileMe as well, if that helps...
What's IMail?
There are some third-party outlook exporters that may work. Search MacUpdate or VersionTracker. Something like Outlook2Mac or O2M. I can't remember what it is called.
Another option is to use Thunderbird on the PC which I understand can be exported to a Mail readable format--that may just be the contacts, though. -
IPhone Users Email Account Settings Change Somehow and Reply to All CC's themselves
I have an odd one here for sure.
I am an exchange administrator for a organization and we believe that since getting iPhone 6's two of my execs have had
an issue where their iphone AND their ipad have issues. It is reported that a reply to all will cc themselves on every email and we found that when looking at the mail account settings the username actually changes from [email protected] to [email protected]
We see this on both of the devices (iphone and ipad) and we feel that it began when they two execs got their iPhone 6's.
I will also add that we do not have any way for these devices to communicate with our internal network other than just ActiveSync. There is no internal wifi network or anything like that. We have updated the device to the latest version of iOS
and we just migrated their mailboxes to Exchange 2013. I will add that this happened on 2010 as well and the migration just happened to be occurring during the time that we were trying to resolve it. It has been going on for quite a while, but
is starting to make a scene internally.
We have since found that some of our regular users have this issue as well, but no one in our IT staff has seen this. I am an Android user, but the rest of my staff are iOS users.
Anyone seen this before? Any ideas? How could this just flip the account settings like this?Sounds very similar to this:

Here are some more issues with EAS and devices as well in case this isn't it.

I changed my MobileMe email account settings to iCloud settings,
My MobileMe mail wasn't accepting my password for the SMPT server, and I wasn't able to get or send any emails on my Mac (but it worked on my phone). I read online to change the Mail Account Settings by "subtracting" it off the account page, and "adding" the iCloud account. Now all my email mailboxes, messages, EVERYTHING is GONE from my computer email. But it's all still on my phone. How do I get it all basck to my Mac?
Set your auto check to 15 minutes and see it work correctly. If you want mail frequency less that that stop using pp mail and use IMAP and then only on servers that support Push mail.
A setting of 1 minute is simply not going to work and is really only available for those who are connected to their own on site server via a fibre cable.
Ultimately remember that email is not SMS or IM, It is email and it arrives when it does and most certainly not immediately. -
I want to leave my Thunderbird email program open on my laptop during my work day and have my email downloaded automatically and a audible alert sound to let me know I have new mail. I have set my account settings so that this should happen, but it doesn't. I also tried setting in account settings for it to download once per minute, and it didn't. Any suggestions why this might be happening and what I can do to make it work?

Modifying POP email account settings
Essentially, I need to modify the username settings on an existing POP email account (on my Z10) - however, the setting - "Username" - is grayed-out, seemingly unmodifiable.... The only solution is - perhaps - to delete the account from the "Accounts" list and start over?
HOWEVER, I have a LARGE number of emails (sent and received), associated with this needing-to-be-modified POP email account, which I would NOT like to lose....
Will I lose my emails if I remove and re-add this POP email account from / to my Z10?
Thanks for any wisdom!tirgoman!
Thanks for your comments. The issue is, really, with emails SENT from the Z10. I am not (as) concerned with received mails. I have a separate email client (desktop), which grabs and removes mail from the server, regularly.
Is it not possible to change the Username setting for an email account, which is already set up / operational on the Z10?
Is the only solution a remove and re-add, which will result in the complete loss of all (Z10-based) email associated with the removed / re-added email account?
Thanks, again! -
Iphone5 stuck verifying email account settings
iphone5 stuck verifying email account settings
Hey johnboy1952,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
So mail is stuck verifying the mail settings. Try these steps in this article to make sure the account works with the email service provider and remove and re add the account in mail.
iOS: Troubleshooting Mail
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
First, try these basic troubleshooting steps:
Tap Safari and load a webpage. If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you can't load a webpage, check your Wi-Fi connection or try a different Internet connection:
Try a different Wi-Fi connection.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to make sure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Make sure your settings are correct using Mail Settings Lookup.
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.
Have a nice day,

I have a Blackberry Q10. I have set up my emails and it was working great. Then it reset the incomming & outgoing server to mail.bigpond.com. I have rest the setting twice now and it keeps reverting back. I am saving changes. What do I need to do to stop it resetting itself.

From that description, it sounds like you first used the automatic wizard to configure your email account, then tried to change what was in that configuration. Instead, you should remove and re-create brand new your email configuration, and if you need to do anything different than the automatic wizard would do, use the manual methodology and, while initially configuring the email account, provide all of the settings manually.
If you are not sure what the settings are to use, you can use the Email Validation Tool to provide them to you:
KB33444 How to use the Email Account Validation Tool (EAVT)
Good luck!

Why can''t acces my existing thunderbird email account settings
When I try to check the settings on my email accounts it refuses access and says this account already exists.
This seems to have happened since the last update was done, and is the same on three different computers.
I dont want to change anything but would like to check the settings to compare to another as I was having issues with emails on one machine and sometimes use a different smtp server depending on where I am.Whatever email address you have assigned to your AppleID at http://appleid.apple.com/ is the email address you should check for the verification email. You would've set this up when creating your AppleID.
Unless you are an employee of Apple, you do not have an @apple.com email address.
Who is the provider of the email address assigned to your AppleID? If we know that, we can tell you where to check that email address. -
Hi, My iphone e-mail account settings are grayed out and I can't add or modify my e-mail accounts. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I have to reset my phone to make it work? Will I lose my data?

"Add BCC" as an option for Email Account Settings
One very much appreciated option on the BB OS devices was the ability to set a fixed BCC email address for individual email accounts. I know that I can add it to individual messages but it is cumbersome to do this for every email. Could BB please re-introduce this feature to BB 10?

Cannot change email account settings
I have been getting error messages trying to send email saying the email is in my outbox as it cannot determine my outgoing email server!!
I see a thread here giving the guidance in Mail (Yosemite): Verify an account’s outgoing mail server Looking at the account as directed I cannot see Account Information just nothing there I can see in Menu, double clicking on the account name so I cannot check or change the SMTP server. The only thing I can see is a Details button but that has nothing to allow setting anything other then the email account name, password and the display name. The account Information is not there.
Help please to find this Account Information so I can check/change the SMTP server.Hello bh8er,
I'm sorry to hear you are having mail issues with your Mac. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing/describing. What are you seeing when you go to Mail > Preferences and select the Accounts tab? Does it show more than one account in the left hand column, and does it allow you to select your account? What does it say for Account Type? You may also find the additional troubleshooting steps in the following article helpful, in particular the portion about using the Mail Connection Doctor:
