Email account stopped downloading on both iPad and iPhone

One of the email accounts on my 4th generation iPad and iPhone5 has stopped downloading emails.  It looks like it connects to the account and briefly displays the number of emails to download, however it never downloads to either device.  I deleted the account from the iPad and ret it up again.  It looks like it connects to the account and briefly displays the number of emails to download, however it doesn't download the email from the account.  It's a POP3 account and was working fine until a couple weeks ago.  For about a week I could delete mail and it would download, but won't download regardless of how much I delete.

    Your notes should be stored in your backup, so if you have backed up the iPad and that backup does contain those notes that you deleted, you can try restoring from your backup. If you haven't backed up the iPad since you created those notes, they are gone.
    If you backup with iCloud only, restoring from backup involves erasing the device and then going through the setup all over again and finally restoring from the iCloud backup. This article explains the process quite clearly.

    If you backup with iTunes, connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and right click on the device name on the left and select - Restore from Backup. But before you do that .... turn off auto sync in iTunes - without connecting the iPad - launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box at the bottom of that window in order to turn off auto sync.
    Email messages are not stored in your backups.

    Uggh, it's so frustrating! I've googled every search phrase I can think of and this seems to be the only thread describing this exact issue. I'm always automatically logged into Facebook on my MBP but just to be sure I logged out and back in and it worked fine.
    I gotta say, I wasn't a fan of the Droid I had preceding this iPhone, and from what I hear the iPhone app for FB is a thousand times better - not that I'd know personally because I can't log in!! - but I could always access my FB account on the droid. Just sayin...

    not much response in here which surprises me...
    Anyway... AS I am still looking for answers, I will share a couple of points that I realised...
    in Airport Utility, I noticed that my iphone MAC address was actually showing as client connected, despite my phone network showing the spinning wheel next to the network name for ever and never actually connecting.
    I am currently testing the router mode in Network to be on DHCP and NAT mode with a range from .2 to .200
    My phone is now connected....
    Everything seems to be ok and happy so far...
    strange that this router and phone have worked together for at least a couple of years, the phone works everywhere else, and all other toys connect to my WIFI just fine. the list is as follow:
    airport extreme
    Zeppelin air
    2x apple tv
    2 ipads
    iphone 4s
    2 mac
    1 pc
    I have litterally just hard reset the router with a pin just now as a last resort... same...
    I will leave the router as DHCP & NAT until a potential firmware or OS update...

    Same for me with Iphone 5 and IOS 7 on mac pro. Install ITunes 11.1 and after reboot nothing work. Work only with Mac Pro in safe mode.
    I have uninstalled Wi-fi-sync1.0 app from MacPro and Itunes sync well with iphone.

    I am giving you a solution assuming you are referring to iCloud mail..... so try this...
    Setting>iCloud>turn mail off

  • Advice on improving graphics for app for both iPad and iPhone

    I am creating an app for both iPad and iPhone 4 and it looks terrible on the iPhone 4.
    I have created the Flash File in Flash CS5.5 IDE with Movie Size 1024 x 768 and I am using the following AIR for IOS settings:
    Rendering: CPU
    Device: iPhone and iPad
    Resolution: High
    All my graphics are vector so I assumed that it would look crisp on both devices. It is not as perfect looking on the iPad as it appears on my PC monitor but I can live with it. I can't however live with the iPhone 4 appearance.
    I am therefore seeking advice on how to improve the iPhone 4 appearance.
    As far as I am aware, there is not a way to use 2 sets of graphics, one for each device. Please correct me if this is wrong and it would offer me a solution.
    Would doing all the graphics as PNG be a solution?
    Btw I am using AIR 3.2 SDK if that has any relevance and my graphics are static.

    I did a quick google search and see this appears to be the code I need. I assume I put this in the first frame of my Flash movie?

  • I updated both iPad and iPhone to iOS 7.06. Battery lif goes extremely fast, maybe a tenth of what it was.

    I updated to the latest version of the iOS. My battery life on both iPad and iPhone have dropped to nothing. My phone goes dead by noon. I have turned off every "push" locator, everything I can think off. Is anyone else having this trouble?

    On my iPad 3, I noticed with the update to iOS 7.0.6 that it turned on features by default that I had previously turned off, such as Bluetooth. You might want to check to see if active features are now turned on that you previously turned off. Some of them, like Bluetooth, will cause an additional drain on the battery.

    Ever since the iOs 7 update my wifi, on both the ipads and iphones, doesn't always connect. Some times is does and sometimes it won't connected even though there is a wifi setting available.     I have a bunch of TV shows purchased from iTunes store on my laptop (MacBook Air, OS X 10.8.2) which I routinely sync to my iPad and iPhone. After ungrading my iPhone to iOS 6, the sync stopped working to both iPhone and iPad (which I did not upgrade yet) with iTunes saying that I can not sync these videos because I do not have permission to play them on this computer. This is incorrect as this computer is authorized to play them, and I can actually play them on this computer. I've done all the tricks I've found suggested - reset iPhone (which I didn't think would work since the iPad is affected too), deactivate and activate my iTunes account, and am stuck. Thoughts?

  • YAY!!!!  Email now pushes perfectly on my iPad and iPhone after uploading IOS6!

    Finally!  I've been struggling with pushing email using the iPad and iPhone app for over a year now and I see it works perfectly now.  Hurray!  I downloaded IOS6 on my iPhone and ipad2 without a hitch and things are working swimmingly.  I'm a happy camper!

    My iTunes is installed on a Windows 7 computer and is connected to a linksys switch that is connected to a wireless linksys router.
    My iPads and iPhones are connected to the wireless router.
    They are unable to connect to the Home Share even after signing off of Home Share and then logging back in.
    When you open the Videos app on iPad or iPhone it says "No Videos" and does not seem to be attempting to find any content on the network.
    This was working earlier in the day yesterday but has stopped for some reason.
    I have an AppleTV 3 and another iPad that are working just fine and are able to see and play Music/Videos/Movies... just fine.

    Just to provide more information:
    I have recently DeAuthorized all computers and then authorized the computer that I am trying to home share with. That didn't help at all.
    I only have one computer Authorized now and 2 iOS devises authorized.
    The AppleTV 3 is connected to the same linksys switch as the iTunes computer. It is able to see the Home Share and play Music/Videos/Movies...
    The working iPad is connected to the same linksys wireless router that the linksys switch is connected to.
    It is able to see the Home Share and play Music/Videos/Movies...
    All my other iOS devises are having issues.

    Did you try setting itunes to run with administrator privileges?

    Settings>icloud.  Assuming you have already set up the connection to icloud (ID, password), then turn on Calendars on that screen.
    If they don't appear, then log into icloud.com using a computer's browser and look at the calendars page.  If empty, then you are not syncing calendars from your device to icloud.  If there, then be sure Calendars is turned on in Settings>iCloud or System Preferences>iCloud.
