Email account validation problems

If I've stopped even one person from getting a competitor's phone, then my work here has been worthwhile.  I'm glad things are working for you again.

Many issues related to setting up an email account on your phone or validating an email account password can be resolved by typing www.blackberry.com/integrate in your phone's browser and proceeding from there. You might also wish to contact your carrier, EE, and ask about getting access to their self-serve BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) site. From there, you can validate accounts as well as add new ones and delete ones you don't wish to use. This is useful if ever you can't access them from your phone to perform these functions. EE's self-serve BIS site is http://ee.blackberry.com .  Give it a shot and report back with your results.

  • An error occurred during email account validation

    Hello everyone
I have a seriously annoying problem with my BB Curve!
I added a language on to my phone using the Desktop Manager which resulted in the phone being backed up and reinstalled (like a reformat but the data wasn’t lost). Ever since then I am unable to access my email account information that I set up on the phone and wasn’t receiving emails (this coincided with the Blackberry blackout). After that I deleted the email account on using the website email account access for blackberry and re-entered my account information, this allowed the emails to come through my phone but I still cant access my email account information.
If I go to Main Menu > Setup > Email Accounts > Internet Mail Account the phone will hang up while trying access information
If I go to Messages > Options > Email Account Management, I get the following information “Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider” I have called Vodafone for the past 5 days now but they are of no help.
If I try to edit the account information (like signatures) on the hutch.blackberry.com website, I get the following error “An error occurred during email account validation. Please check your information and try again.”
Has this happened to anyone before? Is there any solution to this problem?
My phone is currently on Software version 6.0 Bundle 2342
    Please help!!!
    Gwen

I would keep trying, or wait and try again. There could be a server issue which will be resolved.

  • BB 8520 Error: An error occurred during email account validation

    Device info
    Your carrier: TMN Portugal
Model info and OS version: 8520 V 5.0.0.822
    Hello,
    im getting a problem:
I had my email account configured on a BB. Everything was working fine. I changed for a new Blackberry, and when i switched my device on www.tmn.blackberry.com it asked me to validate my accounts. And when i was trying to validate my email [email protected] i got this error: An error occurred during email account validation.
The problem is that all the settings are fine.Username, password and server name.
And the wierd thing is that i have 2 more blackberrys in my company, with a masterphone.pt email working. But when i try to configure another they all give this error now. No one can change their device, or they will lose the email configuration.

  • Email account validation

I am having problems configuring a specific account to my device. I know the email address works, as it is doing so in Outlook and I have also used the BlackBerry Email Validation Tool which also confirms the same. However everytimne I receive the following message:
"An error occured duruing email account validation. Please check your information and try again."
    Thanks in advance.

To answer that part -- you have no direct method to contact RIM (well, not for free at least). Your sole method, as per your contract, is to contact your mobile service provider and, if they need to, they can escalate into RIM at no cost to you. There is no method to, for free, bypass as that is what is required per all contracts covering formal support services for BBs.
    Good luck!

  • Email account setup problem with Messages app

Having recurring problems lately with a Rogers pop3 email account not syncing properly in the Playbook Messages app, unless I'm on a wifi connection. Continually tells me it's encountered an unexpected problem connecting to the Rogers server when only bridged through my phone. Is something screrwing up, or is the app designed for wifi only? I don't recall this problem originally.
Also having all kinds of fun setting up the account and having it complete the process properly. It tells me it can't connect with the server/it's not available at this time, blah blah blah. Tried just entering the email address and letting the tablet do its thing; have used multiple settings in the Advanced setup, as verified by using the EVAT tool (though it seems to only have PC, not Playbook options). Again, maybe this is just a wifi-only issue(?), but even on wifi setup seems iffy.
    Duh

Rogers has different setting for home and mobile use and it can be painful to deal with
Basically they lock it down for one use or the other and not for both.
It was inteneded to be used only with your home PC and not a mobile device and some ISP have made changes to allow it
POP protocol isnt that robust and if possible use IMAP or better to use exchange active sync if possible (not all ISP use IMAP or EAS)
I gave up on it and switched to outlook.com

  • Email account setup problem

For years I was able to get my work emails forwarded to my BB. On Tuesday evening of this week, I stopped getting the emails and when I checked my service provider email set up list, my work email was deactivated. When I clicked the icon to reactivate it, I entered my password as it requested and I received a message that my password was incorrect.  So I tried it again with the same result.  So I deleted it, thinking I would just re-add the account. WRONG. It would not let me do so. The process to add is different from how I last added an account, as an option for a work address is now via web access.  My employer recently changed its web access to an OWA, so I decided to go that route. I am still unable to add the account, and my local IT group doesn't know what to do.....HELP!  I am going to Europe in 2 weeks and was counting on being able to get my work emails while I am gone.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

if IT knows the issue based on the links i posted above , you cannot integrate your email as OWA.
you cna try this instead, again IT will od this for you.

  • Won't allow me to send emails from one email account

Firstly my z10 won't allow me to send wails from my website email address (my website is with mr site) my last bob worked fine with no issues it was a torch 9800. Mr site say it's not them but suggest I can register with a server company, I checked this but would have to pay for the service. My sim is with BT and they say it's not there problem either and send me back to mr site, I have registered the email account on my z10, so can receive emails but when I reply they don't get sent, Also have a problem with the phone needing my email passwords every now and then, don't know why this is either? Hoping someone can help Linda

    Hello,
Most, but not all, email services are fully compatible with BB10. You might have to configure the account manually to get everything correct...sometimes the email wizard just can't get it correct. You can find you settings via this tool:
KB33444 How to use the Email Account Validation Tool (EAVT)
Then use the Advanced Settings in the email configuration screens and provide all of the settings manually. Normally, that does the trick.
However, if the email account in question has certain restrictions, then there may be no way around it. Some email accounts require your sending device to be "inside" of their network in order to send mail. Often, then can receive, but not send. The email system places a requirement on the SMTP server that does not allow it to be used from "outside", even authenticated. For those types of systems, there really is no workaround...they require the sending device to be "inside", but that cannot be done with a mobile device...catch-22.
I've no idea if mr site is such a service...I've never heard of them before, so have no way to know. But perhaps you can ask them specifically if their SMTP server can be used from "outside" of their network, as long as you provide the proper authentication into the device email configuration (via the manual method I discussed above). If they say that their SMTP server can only be used from "inside", then you indeed are stuck. The only solution I can think of is to find another email provider that does not have such a restriction.

    This may be causal:
KB33834 Email accounts integrated using POP are repeatedly and incorrectly marked as invalid
I also noticed the problem on some of the earlier BB10 OS levels, but such seems to have settled down with newer versions. But, I can't tell, from what you provided, what OS level you are on.

  • Email set up stuck on work email account and BES

    Hello everybody.
I am a new BB user and I am having problems with email set up:
when i go to email setup i get only one option:
"I want to use awork email account with a BES"
can anybody tell me how to get back to normal set up, I have done a wipe and I have also removed the battery, but without no luck.
    can anybody help.
    BB Curve 8520
    vodafone portugal

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
If you used the automated wizard, then it's possible that the server didn't respond with the correct settings, and they are now not quite correct. You can try the EAVT to see if you can find the correct settings:
Article ID: KB33444 How to use the Email Account Validation Tool (EAVT)
Or you can ask the email system admin for the correct settings. Once you have them, you can double check if what is configured to your BB is correct...and make the necessary corrections if they are not. If that doesn't work, then I'd advise removing and reintegrating the account, but use the Advanced/Manual configuration method using the settings you have received as valid.
Good luck and let us know!

    Hello !
It seems you dont have BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) Plan activated on your device.
Contact your service provider for its activation.
Once your BIS is activated, you will see "EDGE" or "3G" symbol on homescreen.
Then try to setup your email account.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest there time on this Message anymore.
    Thanks.

  • Q10 email account settings

I have a Blackberry Q10. I have set up my emails and it was working great. Then it reset the incomming & outgoing server to mail.bigpond.com. I have rest the setting twice now and it keeps reverting back. I am saving changes. What do I need to do to stop it resetting itself.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From that description, it sounds like you first used the automatic wizard to configure your email account, then tried to change what was in that configuration. Instead, you should remove and re-create brand new your email configuration, and if you need to do anything different than the automatic wizard would do, use the manual methodology and, while initially configuring the email account, provide all of the settings manually.
If you are not sure what the settings are to use, you can use the Email Validation Tool to provide them to you:
KB33444 How to use the Email Account Validation Tool (EAVT)
    Good luck!
