Email address "hidden" in contacts.

Out of nowhere, suddenly, about half my email addresses "Contacts are "hidden". That is, they do not show up in my Contacts, BUT, if I am writing an email (Mail), and I type in the name, up pops the address. If I scroll down to "Show contact hard", up pops the contact but no email address in the template. How can I bring them back without reentering, one at a time, every lost email address? Thanks!!

Are you looking in the hard drive level Library or your user Library. If you see System, Users, and Applications in the same location as Library, your are looking at the hard drive level.
Either hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu, or use the Go To Folder command in the Go menu and triple-click the following line to select it, and copy/paste it into Go to Folder dialog
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
Follow Barney's above instructions to get to your user Library.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

I am not sure what generates the email address as a contact, be it the iPhone or iMac. I use iCloud to sync up my contacts/address book. This appears to happen when I am using Mac Mail on my iMac, but I have no clue where to begin to look to stop this auto addition. I have looked in Mail preferences on my iMac and in my iPhone settings, but have found nothing that "automatically add email address to contacts list".
Can anyone provide guidance? Web search has been fruitless ( I am guessing I am not using the right key words for my search).

Delete a contact. Go to the contact’s card, then tap Edit. Scroll down, then tap Delete Contact.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like Facebook imported to your contacts. I have the Xfinity app on my new ipad, too, but none of my stored contacts from the online version are showing, only what I manually entered into the iPads contacts are there. When I did add the FB app, I did not grant it permission to push and pull from my ipad (not a fan of FB knowing every detail about me), so that may be where our difference lies. You could try to open the app and change your privacy settings, or delete it and then reinstall without granting permissions to integrate.
I'm sure someone here with a lot more knowledge then me can probably diagnose your issue better, though. Good luck!

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

whether your number or email address is desplayed depends on how you have Caller ID set.
Settings -> Messages ->Receive At ->Caller ID (chose what you want displayed)

There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes.
Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list. I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me. My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see. There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email. As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one. I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information. This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!

Whjat is the easier way to accomplish that task?

Doug,
It sounds like you want to create a Group.
Each of your 10 people should be entered with their own Card in Address Book.
Then you'll create a Group which you'll then add the 10 contacts to.
Once that's set up, in Mail you can enter the name of the Group in the To field to easily send a message to all group members.
So rather than putting 10 email addresses into one Contact, you'll be putting 10 Contacts into 1 Group.

You can't with the way it currently works.
I've never tried, but you might try multiple groups, each with a different email selected.
I think I created an Applescript that would grab every address of every selected person and address an email. It is probably buried in the bowels of these forums.

Apps are forever linked to the ID used to download them. The only way to fix this is to delete the apps in question and download them again with the new ID

Need second email address for a contact

I need the ability to add a second email address for a contact. I have tried using ";" and "," characters in the email address line, but get an invalid data format error when saving. Short of adding a custom field, is there any way to do this?

How do I select more than one email address on a Contacts card. I did it before but trouble with Yosemite

Cannot select more than one email address at a time from Contacts. Before I upgraded to Yosemite, I could view all mail addresses in "All Contacts" and select multiple or single email addresses by "command and tap" for mail. Now I have to open each card and select one address at a time. I don't want to create groups just want to select the addresses I need at the time.

i dont pay for hosting at all.. i just pay every two years to keep my domain name and with that i get free email forwarding and web forwarding... so i can create email addresses but need to forward them to somewhere else...
i forward them to one of the POP3 email addresses i was given by my ISP...
in entourage i set up two email accounts on the one identity so i can send email from the ISPs email or from my domain name email... now if someone sends me an email to my domain name email i get it twice... it only does this on my new mac though, it didnt do it on my old one...

How do I add multiple email addresses for a contact to a group?

(I'm a recent convert from eMailer to Outlook Express, to Entourage, and finally to Mail.app)
I'm trying to set up a group in Address Book that includes multiple email addresses from a given card. These are folks that want me to include, for example, both their work and home email addresses when I send to this particular group.
I see that Address Book has the ability to use "Edit Distribution List..." to select one email address for a given card/contact, but I can't get it to allow me to use two or three for a given card.
I suppose for now I can just create a duplicate card, and pick one address from each.
Is there a better way?

Sorry, but Address Book does not allow you to select more than one email address to send to in a group. There's really no reason why people need multiple copies of a message, anyway; they have the option of forwarding email to another email address of theirs.

I sync my iPhone with Google Contacts. On my Mac Pro using Gmail I can keep adding personal email addresses, however, my iPhone is only allowing 3 per contact. Is there a way of adding a 4th email address?

I don't use Google contacts, but I do have an iPhone 4, running 4.3.5. I am syncing to Outlook 2010 on my PC. When I go into Contacts on the iPhone, and select a contact, then go to Edit, I have the option to add another email address as an "Other" under email. I tested it and was able to add a 4th and 5th one. However, the restrictions in Outlook do not allow for the syncing of the addtional email addresses into Outlook, it will only take 3. Go into your contacts and check under the email section after you touch Edit and see if there is a space that is titled "Other" and has Email next to it in grey. The only other thing I can think of is if you have Google Contacts set up as Exchange and there is some type of restriction that way.
