Email Address Policy (EAP) - "Do Not Apply" characteristics

I'll be updating an existing email address policy and to manage the impact of making this change i will be selecting "Do Not Apply" on the scheduling page.   I understand that this configuration will enable the updated policy
to be applied to newly created recipients and existing recipients that have one or more attributes changed.   I have been searching the web but have been unable to identity what attribute change(s) would result in the reasssessment of a recipients'
email address policy.   Can you direct me to some microsoft documentation which identifies what exactly triggers this reassessment for an individual recipient?

Albert your post is very helpful.  After reading your post and both articles a few things are clarified...
1.  EAP is reapplied if either Exchange Management Shell or Exchange Management Console are used to initiate a change to recipient(s).  (From Blog)
2.  When an email address policy is modified and saved, all associated recipients are updated with the change.  (From Technet)
With this information the following should be true when an EAP is updated and "Do Not Apply" is selected.
An existing recipient will not have their EAP reevaluated unless EMC or EMS is used to update that recipient, or if an administrator manually forces a reevaluation for all users.
New recipients will evaluate EAPs and have the appropriate EAP applied during provisioning.
Modifying attributes using tools other than the two mentioned above will not trigger an reevaluation and subsequent association of a policy with a recipient.
Using EMS and EMC to modify recipients triggers some process that results in a reevaluation and enforcement of EAPs associated with the modified recipient. 
The gist of these finding for me is that I can use non Exchange tools to update AD and EAP reevaluation will not be triggered.  I'll do some testing to confirm, but i think that this heads me in the right direction.

    I am noticing that when I modify our standard corporate email address policy in Exchange 2010, via the EMC, I am able to apply the changes to all the email enabled account, groups, resources, etc.   However, if I remove one of the email addressing
    formats in the template and then attempt to apply that to all the same email-enabled resource, it does not remove the email address template.
    I'm assuming this isn't the expected behavior when modifying E-Mail Address policies?  Also, our small organization appears to have three separate policies; Defauly Policy and then two additional ones.   Is there any good reason for a small
    (< 50 mailboxes) organization to have any more than just the default policy?

    That's correct. Just becasue you aren't assigning any new addresses
    doesn't mean that new e-mail won't arrive addressed to the addresses
    that thre previously assigned.

    That depends on what the policies are doing. Perhaps you have a
    different policy for groups?

  • Exchange 2010 accepted domain and email address policy

     So I need some help as to which accepted domain is right for us. We are a single forest single domain that is subbed to a parent domain.
    sub.domain.com
    We run our own exchange 2010 separate from domain.com.  We want all mail to show up as @domain.com for our users.  The @domain.com will be configured to forward to @sub.domain.com.  This is free Linux mail server that is separate from us.
    In order to configure an email address policy for @domain.com I need to pick from the 3 types.  I am pretty sure we are not authoritative for @domain.com (they are the parent).  So it is either an internal relay or external relay.  We all
    use the same networking, and our DNS servers point to domain.com as forwarders and they host a secondary copy of our DNS.
    It is a little unclear as to which to use.  I have gone to each account individually to test, and that works perfectly, but I would like to set this Globally.

    As far as I know, your only solution is to manually create such addresses instead of using e-mail address policy.

    That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
    If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
    If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

    Jeffrey is correct: but you do have the option to add up to three 'email aliases' which are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main address. Indeed it's a good idea to give out an alias address rather than the master address, in case of spam or other problems: you easily delete an alias without impinging on the behaviour of the rest of the account.
    There seem to be problems at the moment about creating aliases, so if you find you can't, give it a couple of days and try again.

    You should be aware that, once created, aliases can't be moved to another account, nor turned into full accounts, nor reactivated once deleted.

    I am looking at an issue with users not getting specific group policies. 
    After searching a number of client computers I found that the following error
    The user '*' preference item in the 'User - 6th Form Students Policy {E03166E7-A848-48B5-AA93-97B848AA9C13}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070003 The system cannot find the path specified.' This error was suppressed.
    I can find the folder in the Sysvol folder on all of the domain controllers. 
    The issue with end users seems to be that the proxy settings for internet explorer is not being applied. 
    Potential problems?

    Hi all 
    In administering this policy I am a little confused. 
    We have a policy that distributes proxy settings in the internet explorer maintenance settings section - however when opening this policy up in GPO editor the internet explorer maintenance section is not present.
    I plan to apply the settings via User/preferences/control panel settings/ internet settings (or registry settings from article) however I am unable to edit the settings for internet explorer maintenance and these will persist. Ideas????

    I am hoping to transfer from Outlook Express to TB. On installing TB and importing from OE the 2 email address I have do not show as seperate accounts. The 2 are brian@IP address and shopping@IPaddress.
    I use the 2 address for completely seperate reasons and would therefore like each account to have their own Inbox and the incoming emails to be downloaded in each inbox, as they currently are in OE.
    How can I acheive this in TB?

    I need to send to a group of about 50 parents. Their addresses are held in a Group of Contacts. I highlight the group name to distribute a message to all of them and what I am being told is that they can then all see every email address. This is not acceptable as many do not want their email address being made public in this way. Surely this should not happen or at least there should be a way to avoid it.

    I showed you the basic method of sending a group as Bcc - which is what you initially asked for.
    As you now specify that not only do you want to know how to use Bcc but every email needs to be personalised - not just distributing a message to all of them, then I would agree with Matt and advise you use Mail Merge. This creates separate emails - not a bulk email to several recipients, so using a TO field will only send to that person - other people will not see other email addresses.

    I would suggest you use 'Send Later' option . this will put all the emails in your Outbox, but it does allow you to check the email is correct - or do spot checks. Then you can choose to send them all in one go.
    Right click on 'Outbox' folder and select 'Send unsent messages'.

    Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions.   I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1.  I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.

    To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
    If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account.  To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
