Email addresses & app world

Hello everyone! 
I have just bought myself the Curve 9300 and given my old bb (8520) to a friend. He's just tried to access bb app world but it came up with my email address and required my password. He said he attempted to put another email address in (he's had a bb in the past but hasn't for a few months) but it said it could only be my email address. Obviously he doesn't want to be using my email address with his app world, so just wondering how we change the settings and make it so it's his email address he uses to log into it?

Welcome to the Support Community!
In order to change the BlackBerry® ID used with BlackBerry App World™ storefront, a security wipe will have to be performed on the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone. After the security wipe removes your BlackBerry ID information, your friend will be able to set up BlackBerry App World with his own BlackBerry® ID.

This will remove all information from the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone, so I would advise backing it up first. For further instructions performing a backup, please see: "How to back up the data on a BlackBerry smartphone" http://bbry.lv/IWfPl0

    Hey guys, I have a blackberry 8520. I cannot set up email or app world. When i got to setup email there is no other option beside I want to use a work email account with a blackberry entreprise server this is the only option what do i do. Also i have the upgrade version and internet connection and app world wont download as it says that i dont have all the requirements. IF SOME ONE CAN HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT?

    If you have a blackberry data plan,  go to options / advanced options / host routing table / menu key / register now.    check email set up and see if you have other options now

  • App World Password - Original email address no longer valid

    When originally setting up my Blackberry ID, I used my corporate email address.
    Since then, I have changed employers.
    Now I cannot recall the password and all the password prompts/resets are sent to the email address that does not exist anymore.
    What do I do to fix this problem?

    Is it not the case that if you reset to factory settings then you won't be able to retrieve the apps you've already paid for which are assigned to the old password

I have changed my BB app world email as I cant access that original email anymore, so changed email address, i registered it online in the bb website, when i go to update apps i try and log in to the appworld with my new email it says 'enter user name associated with this smartphone', and just canot log in...PLEASE HELP

    Hi @elc088! Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
    If you're referring to BlackBerry ID, then you need to perform a Security Wipe before you can login using your new credentials. Make sure you have a backup because this will delete all of your data.

  • HT1338 my email address is wrong in my iCloud app and I can't seem to correct it, why?

    my icloud app is not letting me change an incorrect address.

    I am having the same problem as the personal who asked the original question.   I think they left out a bit of information.   I am extremely frustrated.   I just downloaded ios7.   I want to utilize icloud.  It has an email address for me which shows a gmail account instead of a hotmail account.  It's incorrect, but icloud wants me to verify that account.  It is not my Apple ID, but an incorrect variation of my Apple ID.  iCloud is waiting for me to verify that account, which I cannot do because it does not exist in this or any other universe.     I tried to delete the account from my iphone, but guess what?   they want me to sign in with my incorrect email address and password to delete the account.   How in the world do I get icloud to allow me to enter my apple id email address ?   IAt looks like a terrible glitch and all I want to do is be able to use the Find My Phone feature.   Help!!!!  Thank you.

    Been trying to download apps for my iPad, just created my apple ID, the verification email keep saying in bold red letters that the ID is already in use, that I should only access the App world with that account, but at App world it says that the email account has nit yet been veryfied and resends the verification mail!! How can I solve this?

    You can check to see if it is associated with one of your IDs by following this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625, and entering the email address at step 2 to see if it finds an ID owned by you.  If it doesn't, contact the Apple account security team and have them check into it by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Apple ID account security.

  • Email verificati​on page down and Blackberry identity update needed for app world

    don't know if anyone can help me, but I just got a Blackberry and did the whole creating a Blackberry id etc, now when I want to confirm my email address it says that the email confirmation feature is currently unavailable? Its been like that for 5 days now! And that sucks seeing as the link is only valid for 24 hours? wtf? How am I supposed to confirm in 24 hours if the link is down for more than that?!!!!!!
    So as a result I cannot use app world as every time I go on it says 'a blackberry identity update is needed. Would you like to install now?' I then click yes and it then proceeds to tell me that my 'blackberry identity installation failed. Please try again later (80003), I can try until I am blue in the face without the admin fixing that **bleep** link its never going to work!!!!!!!!!!
    CAN ANYONE PLEASE SAVE THIS POOR DISTRESSED DAMSEL BEFORE I LAUNCHE THIS PHONE OUT OF THE WINDOW AND GO BUY A NOKIA?

  • Koodo 8530, No App World or Email?

    So, I've bought a brand new Curve 8530 from Koodo Mobile, it's running OS v5.0.0.654, and I can't seem to be able to attach my blackberry to any email address at all. I've tried a number of addresses and providers, short reboots [alt+rshift+del], battery pulls, updates, and shouting, but none of them seem to make my phone want to allow me to use email.
    In addition to this, I can't seem to get access to the blackberry App World at all either. I've tried the same methods as above, in addition to uninstalling, and then reinstalling App world using the desktop software for windows. Am I missing something, or has Koodo locked out my main reason for purchasing this wonderful device?
    If you've got any ideas  on how to solve either of these issues, please, let me know, as I've racked my brain, and these forums, and I don't seem to be making any progress.

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    To use the proprietary RIM services (including AppWorld and Push email capability), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard and AppWorld should then function.

  • Tried to Change my Apple ID email - but it tells me it's my rescue email address, despite having deleted that rescue email address. What in the world can I do?

    I'm in a bit of a quandary. I have three email addresses, and I'm TRYING to pare down the number of addresses that I use. Thus, I am trying to change my Appple ID to one of those email addresses. Having said that, I tried to Change my Apple ID (which is an email address - one of the ones that I need to get rid of) to one email address that I constantly use. However, the screen tells me that the new address I wish to use, is my rescue email address, despite having deleted that rescue email address. What in the world can I do? I'm about sick and tired of Apple ID's.

    Ok I'm goin to call your old Apple ID #1 your new email you want to use #2 and another email #3.
    - go to http://appleid.apple.com
    - select manage your apple id
    - sign into #2
    - edit primary email and change it to #3
    - save changes and sign out
    Now
    - sign into #1
    - edit primary
    - change it to the email that was used for #2
    - save changes
    - check #2's email inbox for verification email
    - verify account
    If done correctly you should be fine, also in terms of #3 that would be an email you have that you dont mind being an apple id that you wont use. Sorry for the funny way of explaining just thought it would be shorter to type out lol.
    Note: Once changes have been made you must sign out of features such as iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, iTunes & App Store as they will still display the old Apple ID. Sign in with new email but same password as normal.

    When I go on the App Store App on my Iphone my Apple ID is not correct.  It is the email address of someone on my contact list.  How can I correct this and replace the incorrect Apple ID with my ID?

    Go to Settings, iTunes & App Stores, click on the Apple ID. Sign out. Click again and sign in with your Apple ID.
    Is it possible that this someone in your contact list had the phone and downloaded an app for you?

    I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. What a poor sync system! Really atypical for apple!

  • Trouble adding printer to HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app - can't find printer's email address

    I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart c6380 to my iPhone. I already downloaded the app and my printer is connected to my wireless network, as is my iPhone, but I can't add my printer to the app.
    When I go to "Manage ePrinters" and try to add a printer with the + button I see 3 choices:
    Add ePrinter from list: "No ePrinters available"
    Add Manually: I can't find the printer's email address even using the instructions found at the ePrint center.
    Add from WiFi Network: My printer isn't shown in this list so it does not support auto discovery.
    So I'm guessing that if I could just find my printer's email address that would connect it to my iPhone for wireless printing, but I can't for the life of me find it. 
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that your printer is not Airprint/ePrint capable. However, the good news is that with the HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app it does not need to be Airprint/Eprint capable, as long as it is connected to the same network as your phone.
    Here are the steps you will want to take to print something:
    1. Setup the app by completing the email registration and entering the code (which I believe you have).
    2. Select the item you wish to print using the menu in the app (Photo Albums, Saved Files, Web Browser, etc.).
    3. Once you select the item you should see the item and a large "Print" button under it.
    4. If the printer you want to print to is not listed above the "Print" button, select the icon on the right (wrench/computer) and select the printer you wish to use (along with other settings). 
    5. Tap on the "Back" button in the top left corner, then tap "Done" (blue button in the top right corner), and then tap the "Print" button to print your item.
    Let me know if you are still having trouble after following the guide above.

  • I know have a mobile me account and so my apple id is switched from my email address.  i am trying to update my apps but it won't let me as it won't recognize my new 'ID'. how can i fix this on my iphone?

    I have mobile me account now and so my apple id is switched from my email address to my mobile me address.  Since I have made this change I can't update my apps. Everytime I try to sign in it won't recognize the switch. I have updated all the proper information on my iphone, however, when updating apps it still shows my apple id as my email address and not the mobile me account address. I am not sure what else to do???  I have even sync'd my iphone and tried to do it through my pc, however, it says that it can't update (nothing to update). I have ten updates sitting on my iphone apps...What to do...what to do?  Very confused.

    Where are you trying to log in? You should be able to change your ID at http://appleid.apple.com - can you log in there?
    Before you change your ID you should log out of the iTunes Store and on any devices which are logged into iCloud. Then once you've changed it you can log back in with the new ID. (Your iCloud synced data will disappear from the device when you do this but will reappear when you sign back in - give it time).
    If you are unable to sign into http://appleid.apple.com you will need to contact Support. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. If you have any problems with that try this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
