Email after 5800 update

Hi,
I have just updated my 5800. It works much better now but the email has gone from the homescreen. I have checked the settings and this says it should be there. Any ideas?

I presume that u have updated to v40, email notifications appears only when you select 'contacts bar' as you homescreen theme provided you should have selected the mailbox name for which the mail settings are setup. Main drwback of contacts bar is it doesn't display calender entries on the homescreen.

Some have reported success simply by reinstalling the update.

Problem setting up email after Belle update

Hi, I was having this problem that after Belle update I could not receive emails after set up.
My email is with eircom.net and phone is with Vodafone Ireland. It is working afet I tried these settings.
Set your own email address, user name and password.
Try this settings:
Incoming server: webmail.eircom.net ( use your own, this in mine with eircom.net)
access point: internet
NB: security: OFF
Port: default
APOP secure login: OFF
outgoing server: For vodafone it is mail.vodafone.ie (Ireland)
Access point: internet
Security: OFF
port:default

Problem solved. The ipad default is set to IMAP. When I changed it to a POP server, problem solved.

I can't send email after the iOS7 update....this is a show stopper for me. When is a fix expected?

First it would help if you explain exactly what happens when you send an email.
Do you get an error message?
If so what does the message say?
The abilitly to send or receive emails does not fall on Apple or the IOS 7.
You email provider gives you that ability.
Double check and make sure your outgoing mail server is correct.

What do you mean by access?
Try deleting the account in the Mail app and setting it up again.

Can not send emails after ML update

I am unable to send emails after updating to Mountain Lion. Four email accounts, same problem: All settings are unchanged, but SMTP servers for outgoing mail are set as passive. No problem with incoming emails. Any suggestions?

I thought they might be. Apple seems to forget about POP accounts, and most problems seem to occur in them.
Do you have a backup before upgrading?
Did Mail go through the upgrade process the first time you opened Mail after the installation? Sounds like something may have gone wrong.
All mail accounts and emails are stored in you user/Library/Mail/V2 folder. If you have a time machine backup, just restore that V2 folder from before the upgrade (close Mail first) and see if that fixes the problem.
To see your Library folder, click on the desktop to make it active, then go to the menu at the top, select Go, then Go to Folder and type or copy and paste
~/Library
Then go to the Mail folder and open it and click on Time Machine - restore the V2 folder from before the backup

After I update my ipad2 with iOS 5 when I log in in yahoo to check mail the page display blank, why?

Clear the History, Cookies, and Cache.
Then restart your iPad. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Note II will no longer sync email after software update

After I let the last major install update I cannot sync my MS Exchange or yahoo accounts both of which are critical for business. I have set all the options for syncing and tried different ways. the message says cannot connect to server but all my settings are the same as before the update. any ideas besides a hard reset as I do not want to lose data and apps.

We strongly encourage you to remove the battery and leave it out for a few minutes. Once that is done put back in and together. At that time please try and see if you can send yourself an email. Then we can see if it is able to be sent and received.

BB Hub is not updating anything except emails after installing update 10.1.0.273

Haye Everyone,
My BB Hub stops updating Facebook, SMS/MMS, BBM, PIN, Whatsapp, YIM..
I had tired all the given suggestions on different pages, threads except a security wipe.
After a reboot, notifications come up for a couple of minutes and works fine with everything. But when i try to open or mark read any Facebook notification/message it went down again.
after clicking the Facebook notification/message nothing updates in HUB, even if i made changes in HUB everything is just paused. all changes comes up after a reboot.
Facebook and SMS notifications are set ON in HUB Management.
I had reset the HUB but all in vain.
One more thing i am facing is, when ever i connect my phone to LINK it says for an update, and surprisingly update version is same everytime and it downloads & installs in 10~20seconds, so phone reboots.
I had tried same via BlackBerry Update website. same comes up. Even today i had tried updating my phone more than 30 times.
I dont know what's really messy because i am not able to get messages at time and a delayed reply is creating problems for me.

When you start having problems with missing notifications, are you connected to Wi-Fi or to your Mobile Network? Do you receive any emails while you are not getting application notifications?
In regards to the updates, if you have removed any pre-installed applications, the update server will detect this and inform you that an update is available (to reinstall the pre-loaded applications).

Missing emails after Software Update

Hi all,
I seem to missing a large chunk of emails in my Inbox after a recent Software Update. This is only in my Inbox. My Sent mail seems fine. Before the update, my Inbox had around 8000 emails. Now it hovers around 600.
I looked at my Home>Library>Mail>Mailboxes folder. There, it says the size is 110 MB and was last modified on today's date. That tells me all 8000+ emails are still in there, but they just aren't being displayed. I tried Rebuilding the mailbox a while back, but that offered no solution.
Any advice?

Cant send email after software update 10.0.10.85

Email send and receive was working perfectly for early Z10 adopters at our company (SMTP / POP / IMAP, no BES). However, after the firmware update to version 10.0.10.85, sending email stopped working. In checking the logs on our email server, we found that our Z10's are correctly authorizing to the SMTP server but the connection then fails with an invalid linefeed error.
According to our mailserver vendor (Ipswitch Imail), this has to do with RFC 2822 Section 2 which specifically states that bare LF characters are not allowed. We are not experiencing the same problem with Gmail or AOLmail.
Again, the Z10's did work with the initial firware release and failed after the firware update. Nothing was changed on our mail server in the meantime.

I see that K-9 Mail has recently become available on App World. On a lark, I decided to give it a try and guess what?... It works just fine. It receives and sends mail exactly the way any native email client should.
I have an idea for you BlackBerry. Since you appear to be unable to resolve the mail sending issue, and since K-9 Mail is open source, why not download and incorporate their source code into your own mail client, (with proper attribution of course). It would save you the trouble of figuring out for yourselves what you broke in the last firmware update and we would get the fully functioning email we've all become accustomed to on our Blackberry devices.
Ok, sarcasm off. Guys, I really want to love this phone and you know I'm pulling for you, but I can't send email from my Blackberry and right at the top of this thread is the reason why. If nothing else, a Blackberry MUST do email properly! Are you working on this? Throw us a bone here!

No longer receiving emails after iO6 update??

I did the iO6 update the other day, I had problems straight away with all my messaging shortcuts not working. To resolve that I had to turn off documents and data in iCloud.
Now I am no longer getting notified when I have an email. If I go into my mail and refresh it myself I receive about 6 spread across my 2 hotmail accounts. I've tried turning off push, then my phone, and turning both back on but it still doesn't work. Even turned the retrieving mail time down to 15mins and it still doesn't work!
Thought this update was meant to be brilliant?
Any help people? I don't want to be constantly checking my mail for emails when it's a smartphone and its meant to do it itself!

The same thing happened to me...I bought an i5 and restored from backup (i had upgraded my i4 to ios6 prior). now a few of my accounts are no longer working. i thought a backup would create an exact mirror of what was backed up...but i had to reenter passwords for some accounts and some accounts don't even work even though i know the password!
just now i read about some battery flaw on the i5 and ios6 and so i manually deleted, hard rebooted, and then re-added all of my accounts back and there was some blip with gmail so that it kept telling me that my user name or password was incorrect when in fact it was correct.
absolutely irritating...
come on apple...fix the mail problems

TS3276 mail stop receiving emails after os update

Since I updated my mountain lion, my mail stop receiving emails, I still got them on my iphone so i don;t know what's wrong with my mac. my chrome freezes and youtube videos start freezing as well.. there must be something wrong with the update!!

Lost emails after iOS5 update

My update to iOS5 went ok with the exception that I lost around 90% of my emails on my iPod touch. The only emails still on my touch are from within the past week or so.
Anyone else experience this? Is there any way to get them back on my iPod?

When I did the update, it appeared to do a full restore at that time (took a few hours), so would restoring again give any different result?

email won't send, yesterday email worked fined then I updated IPad and iPhone 4 to OS 6.1.2. Now none of my email accounts will send . Any ideas?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
