It have noticed by watching some of the competitors software that the email and browser currently written by RIM is getting very antiquated.
There are other browsers out for competitors products that have greatly surpassed the capabilities of the Blackberry Internet browser.
Also I have noticed a bunch of truncated messages in email that the competitors are able to download complete.
This is not to flame Blackberry, but more to find out what blackberry is planning to continue to be a leader in this industry and in what time frame we can expect this.
Apple is now pursuing the enterprise level security that has held them back from being a business class device. If this happens then RIM will have some major competition on their hands. That combined with their web browser will make them a leading device and open up avenues for them to take over in the business arena.
I personally will never move to an Apple product just because I've been there done that and wasn't very pleased. That was years ago with Apple computers. Also, as long as Apple uses a built in battery I will consider then an inferior product. But with the other innovations in their operating system, web browser and other abilities they are quickly becoming a major threat that has put RIM in the position of catch up.
This is a much talked about issue in other enthusiast's forum's and something that RIM needs to address, so I would like to find out what RIM has in mind as I consider my next device which is due for replacement now.

Losing emails and browsing history since upgraded to Mountain Lion

Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, I've been losing my emails and even browsed webpages. Everytime I restarted or boot up my MacPro, I would lose almost two days of emails and web browsing/bookmarks. Does anyone have this problem? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Bah simple answer, for some reason upgrading changed the balance option in system preferences. Fixed that and all is well

Both email and browser go off line

both email and Safari internet browser go off line, Restarting iMac restores connection but after awhile they go off line again. I checked with Verizon Fios and a they checked there end and found no problem.

Are you connecting via wifi? If so, there have been many threads with connectivity issues (wifi dropping out) since 10.7 Lion was launched. The 10.7.3 updated claimed to fix wifi issues but it seems people are still having problems. Unfortunately there still doesn't seem to be one single solution. E72 Email and Browser Issue

Hi Guys,
I have recently updated to the newer firmware version in my Nokia E72.. It had been working well for the past few weeks. Now i have a problem in connecting to the internet using my WLAN network in the default web browser. I have added my WiFi connection to the internet group by going thro' Ctrl panel-->Settings-->Connection-->Destinations-->Internet and have also set it as the default connection. In the nokia web browser too, i have selected the access point as "Internet". But whenever i try to access any site, it says, "Connnection not available". What could be that??
As for the issue with the email, it works fine.. i am able to downloiad and view mails.. but i am unable to change the access point settings. I have used my WLAN name as the default access point and unable to change it.
One more thing that I found out just nw is that whenever i use email i.e as long as the WiFi connection remains live via email, i am able to browse the sites using the default web browser. but the moment i disconnect mail, the web browser returns the phrase, "Connection not available" as before. This sounds peculiar..and these two issues are someway connected to another..Doing a hard/soft reset may solve this issue.. but it would be better if someone can help me with a solution to this problem..

HT1637 Setting the "Actual" default Email and Browser?

I know how to set my default Mail reader (Can we say shameless self-promotion and poorly engineered location Apple? Seriously? In your own "canned" application? I love your products but some of your choices are "head scratchers" or seem like MS'isms {shudder}) but how do you get the Applications like Safari or perhaps the printing service to recognize that when you select the "Mail PDF" you want it to open your Default Mail application which isn't Apple Mail?

I know how to find the settings but they do not work system wide. Whats the point of setting defaults if it doesn't always work?
My browser default is Firefox, yet some links in Mail launch Safari.
My email default is Thunderbird, yet there is no option for it in iPhoto.
etc. etc.
I am looking for help from someone who knows how to write or find scripts that will help fix these inconsistencies.

Very slow attaching files to Yahoo Emails and Browser Plus will not set up.

Very slow uploading attachments to my Yahoo Emails. I tried their "Attach files more easily", but "Browser Plus" hangs at "Almost done...(You don't need to do anything) " screen. I have Windows XP, Firefox 3.6.6 and only use Yahoo for emails. Yahoo are no help, could it be browser settings?

Have try using this tool to install the printer GO HERE give it a try please let me know if you encounter any errors.
Another Step that I will take is to disable all securtiy applications before installing the printer this will ensure that one of this application is not blocking a critical process needed to properly install the printer.
Are able to print from the computer via usb and/or wireless?

Hi all,
Has anybody implemented and email client and a web browser for MHP 1.0.2?
Are there open source tools to help me on the implementation on these applications, like a Jave email client and a Java web browser that I can convert easily to MHP?
What Java classes I need to use to implement the email and browser?
Does any STB in the market support MHP 1.1?

Can anyone clarify what is monitored, kept, stored, manipulated or reused by BT, its subsidiaries, partners etc, including that required government agencies (I'm not asking about state agency covert spying for obvious reasons - your not allowed to tell). So when I delete an email inc delete from the server, is it?
This is not about contextual advertising; it covers ALL contact and handling of private communication of email and browsing activity. i.e. BT knows how much data flows in and out of my broadband account, so item one could be "data quantity is monitored" Item 2 is?

Anyway, I wonder if it might be worth contacting someone along that route, like MarkMonitor, who manage that 66.196.65.17 for Yahoo, and, as Kerry has told us, engage in phishing protection measures for us. Bit of a long shot maybe, but who knows?

I am having a problem printing emails from my Hotmail account when I am using Mozilla Firefox as my browser. When I click on the Print icon above the email and then proceed to print, the output on my Canon Pixma 830 printer is in extremely small type.

I am not sure about all those installed plugins you have listed below.
I know that I can always copy the text of my email and paste it into a Word file to be printed, but that is a hassle, and the output is not quite the same as when I print directly from the Web.

Note that a reset tries to migrate cookies to the new profile, so if you had previously as problem with cookies then the problem might have been carried over.
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

I'd keep trying the other way. You may have hit it when BC was doing an update or something. If it works one way it should work the other way. But sometimes BC can be kind of temperamental and you have to do a little dance or something to get it to work. But it generally comes around and fixes itself in short time.
Have you tried the other way again?

Fonts displaying in strange characters in Email and Web Browser

Myself and my creative director (on two different computers) are seeing strange characters in our email clients and web browser. He uses Entourage for Email and I use Thunderbird. We both use Firefox for a web browser.
This does not happen with every email or with every web page, what could it be?

Clear out the font cache files from the hard drive with Font Finagler. Also, if you have the fonts Helvetica Fractions or Times Phonetic on the drive, delete them.

Problem with my Tiscali emails (page freezes if attempting to delete an email) and Tiscali support said " use a different browser, e.g. Int' Explorer or G.Chrome - the fault is incompatability with Mozilla!! Please help - I want to stay with Mozilla.

I'm not a "tecky",so here goes! - Tiscali site, emails open/browse fine: as soon as I hit "delete", or "Message actions", the message regarding 'continue yes/cancel' etc, comes up in extreme top left corner of page,not in centre, and ALL actions on that "Talktalk" page are frozen. Taskbar,page scroll,top user bar (computer) functions are fine. I have changed nothing (since updating to Firefox 6.0.2. weeks ago) and the problem only started about three days ago. I'm annoyed that Tiscali/Talktalk's answer (and only answer) was to change browser to a different company. Hope you can suggest a fix. Thanks.

Desktop: Mac Mini dual-core i5 (or quad i7 if you can afford it, it might seem overpowered but it will last you longer. Upgrade to 16GB RAM if you want to future proof that side of the machine. Don't buy from Apple, install it yourself).
Laptop: MacBook Pro 13' if you don't need portability, or MacBook Air 11' if you do (as RRFS has said).
A notebook and a laptop are the same thing.
