Email and iCloud on iMac

I am using an older flat panel 700Mgz iMac PPC G4 with OS 10.4.11. In July 2012 when iCloud fully commences will I lose my email account (at .mac and .me)? I realise I will not access services using OS10.6+ but it seems after years of service (and money) I will not be able to use Apple's email service. Is this correct? Thanks.

OK. Here's the latest...
I allowed (via an Apple email) my account to be migrated to iCloud. I walked through the steps and ticked the box that asked if all my OS etc. was compatible (even though it isn't). The account migrated without problem. When I tried to log in with Safari I receive a box saying browser not compatible - click ignore - and although very slow it works!. I can access my email account.
Now my mail app (v 2.1.3) also picked up my mail for about a week to 10 days then stopped saying incorrect password. My iPod Touch 2g on OS3x also stopped - but I switched off the accounts and created new accounts using the steps below and have not had any problems since. Both my iMac and iPod both access my mails without problem. Note: Mail 2.1.3 does not show 'create' it only shows 'continue'. Option+continue will at one staqe bring up the ssl requirement which is essential. Hope this is not too confusing.
(f you are adding the account from mail preferences you will need these steps. Remove their previous account (after making sure anything important is backed up). Then click the ( + ) sign: 1) In the Add Account pane, enter in the full iCloud(including @.mac or @.me) mail address and password 2) Do not click 'Create' or it will try to automatically set up the account. Hold down Option and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue 3) For Account Type, change the dropdown menu to IMAP 4) Change the Incoming Mail server to imap.mail.me.com 5) Enter the full email address for User Name 6) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue 7) Check the box to use SSL and make sure Authentication is set to Password 8) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue 9) Change the Outgoing Mail server to smtp.mail.me.com 10) Make sure the 'Use Authentication' box is checked 11) Enter the full email address for User Name and then enter the password 12) Hold down Option again and the 'Create' button will switch to 'Continue'. Click Continue 13) Check the box to use SSL and make sure Authentication is set to Password 14) Click Create, and then Click Create again on the final pane.

The specs of this iMac are:
iMac 27 inch, late 2009 model with a 3.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 Gig 1067 Mhz DDR3, using OSX Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
I have Mackeeper installed and according to the scans I have run, everything is fine. No virus, no junk files . . . no problems at all . . .
Except that for all practical purposes, my computer isn't working.
I am nearly totally deaf and live in an isolated, rural area of NW Missouri and this computer is what I mainly rely on to contact friends, relatives and business associtates!
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
If iCloud is enabled, disable it.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting.

I figured it out! I changed my email & password at the icloud site, then when I deleted the icloud account on my iphone - it still showed my old email but when i typed in my current password it went through. I was then able to sign back in with my current email and password. That was too easy for the amount of time I have put into this! Glad its finally fixed.

Without the Apple ID and password the phone was originally activated with, you will not be able to activate the phone. No one here can help you, and neither can Apple. So, unless you or your friend can remember that ID, you will never be able to activate the phone.

TS4002 Can't sent email from iCloud mail iMac, due to exceeding daily limits. Haven't sent an email today. Works on iPhone, though.

Unable to send email message from iMac (os x Mavericks 10.9.4) from iCloud mail due to "exceeding daily sending limits". Have not sent any emails today. As a test, I emailed a message to myself using iCloud mail from iPhone. Able to open email on iMac, respond to that email and sent it without an error message. But keep getting exceeding limits message with new email.

Itunes email and iCloud email issues

Good afternoon all,
When I initially created an Apple account back in 2004 I signed up for a then .mac email address and now use that same .mac address with all of my iCloud services. Not thinking I created an AppleID to use with iTunes using a personal email address (something similar to [email protected] for example).
The dilemma that I have is that I have to use the [email protected] email address to sign into my iTunes account to purchase anything from the iTunes store and to view all of my past purchases from 2004 to present; yet all of my iCloud services (keychain, photos, etc...) are setup using my .mac email address.
When I log into my [email protected] AppleID (the account that has all of my iTunes purchases) I try to change the email address to my .mac address and it will not allow me bc it says it is an apple owned domain.
Is there any way possible for me to merge these two accounts so that I can have one singular email sign in for all of my iTunes and iCloud services?

Currently there is no way to merge Apple IDs. Send a request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html.

Unable to share slideshows in iPhoto, share option all greyed out except for email and iCloud

OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
Completed a slideshow share 11/28 via iPhoto to Facebook
Created a new slideshow to upload to fb msg users however all fields in Share were greyed out except for email.
While working with Apple support and waiting on them I went into iCloud preferences and unchecked a share with selected users and found then that under share iCloud now appears along with email however all other options for sharing are still greyed out.
Please help as support is saying that is the way iPhoto now works

Kenwood Car Radio - email and iCloud

I have recently purchased a Kenwood DNR8025BT for my car. For some reason it doesn't seem to work with iCloud e-mail, i.e. the SMTP does not work (bobpenn had the same problem).
Also I can't get iCloud and google(that Kenwood uses) to sync. I would be ever so gratefull if someone could help me with this - I'm sure there are other people with the same problem.

I recently switched from MobileMe to iCloud. I used Entourage for my email prior to this switch. I've switched to Mail now, however I need to have access to my Entourage email somehow. I'm at a loss and a bit frustrated. I appreciate any help you can give me!

Hi all...this problem has been plaguing me for months as well. Since obviously we can't rely on Microsoft to remedy the problem, I have found a work around. It's not ideal, but works. I found an Applescript for moving items from one calendar to another and modified it. The below script will copy events from one calendar and duplicate them to another calendar. If you click on the Calendars tab in iCal, you'll notice there is an Entourage calendar "On My Mac" and then the list of iCloud calendars. Simply copy the below script into Applescript and change the calendar names to your specific calendars. The first lines will copy Entourage events to the iCloud recognized calendar and the second will copy events from your iPhone to Entourage. Save your script and run it.

Scam itunes email and icloud account

I stupidly clicked on a link in an email that took me to my itunes account and logged in. I realised almost immediately that it was a scam but it took ages to log out again then went to a very dodgy website. I immediately changed my password but I fear it was too late. Will the hackers have been able to access my icloud account and mailboxes?

'Immediately'within five minutes I think. What bothered me was the time it took to log out, I just wonder how much information they were gathering. I'm hoping that because my itunes id is different to my icloud mail account I will be ok. Thanks for your reponse.

I currently have a mac email address and iClud email.
When ever I try to send an email to either one of these accounts it is undeliverable.
Would anyone be able to help me figure out this problem.

Trying to update apple id and icloud email.

A while ago I changed my apple id email and icloud email but the phone still asks for the old email and it's password. I have now got a new phone and am trying to reset the old one (to give to my son) but it keeps asking for the old email id password, which I've forgotten. When I log in to the page on the website it won't recognise my details so I am not sure what to do next to delete this old email address and reset the old phone.
Any ideas please?

If it is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. You should now be able to delete the existing account. Then you can go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.

Hi you have basicly 2 Options.
1 -if you Switch One fotostream on all 3 devices of yours which are working on the same apple id -all Fotos you Take with your iPad will be synchronized via icloud to the other 2 decvices ( w-lan and battery depending).
2- If you select foots or a whole album in iPhoto on your air or iMac and choose than puplish --> fotostream --> new or existing event you can key in a friends mail. If this friend has iCloud and iPhoto ( for iMac or MacBook ) and click on the link in the email it will download this fotos in the fotostream section in iPhoto. If he has a iPad, iPhone,... It will do it in the foto app and if he doesn't have a iCloud account at all and you choose "public web site" while publishing he can see your fotostream on a website.
