Email and RSS now blocked

Upgraded to Lion.
I am unable to collect any emails and I think my RSS feeds aren't updating.
Anyone else?

I didn't do anything different to get mine working again. There was a delay of about 2 or 3 hours before it started working again.
While it wasn't working, the busy icons were showing next to all my email accounts at my inbox, continuously for those 2 or 3 hours. Then suddenly it worked. I know that doesn't really help much and you may have a completely differenty problem to mine. But hopefully ... maybe just the wait. I did notice there seemed to be a lot going on with the Mac while it was failing to collect - like a lot of system stuff but I don't have any software that monitors that sort of thing otherwise maybe I could offer that as the reason Mail failed for so long.

It is a company phone, don't mess with it unless you get authorization from the company. The activation, and I suspect Find My Phone are all tied to the company for a reason. Unless of course you don't value your job.

At 10.18 yesterday, other than a recurring email from Holland and Barrett (now blocked) I have received no messages although I see there are 20 messages waiting

Since recurring promotional email arrived yesterday my mailbox seems to have become locked to any other than the recurring mail (which I have now blocked) but am still unable to receive any emails at all.

I would go to your webmail and sign in there. then I would read and delete any email that I don't want to see if one of those is blocking the other mail from transferring.

Emails and RSS not displaying correctly

I have had this issue for a while, it's not a big issue but is very annoying.
When I receive an email or open an RSS feed story that has a banner or some kind of graphic embedded into it, it won't display the images.
For example, I got an email from Ticketmaster today about upcoming concerts, it read like this:

Is there something wrong with my settings in Mail? or is it something to do with the way these messages are sent out.

I just wanted to send an update to let everyone know I was able to get my issue fixed (after about an hour with the chat support) and one nof the steps was obvious while the other was not. Sticky Footer was enabled so when the browser window was enlarged vertically, it introduced the white space. Removing the checkmark from that box fixed that issue. Regarding the header giving white space, the tech support person took control of my computer because they weren't have the same issue when I sent them my file which was very odd. They did some fiddling about with the header and grouping of elements in the header and were finally able to get the white bar to disappear when viewed in Preview and on a web browser. They couldn't give me a specific reason why it did that or why what they did fixed it. So, sadly not a lot to go on for how to fix the problem other than 'fiddle around with it till it works,' which is frustrating at best.

Changed email and password,now account all messed up. any ideas?

I reset my email from hotmail to a gmail account as well as password. now all updates as well as my $ is no longer asseccible. any ideas

Same thing happened to me! I emailed Apple support, but it may be 48 hours before they respond.

Mail did not move, and is now blocked

Yesterday, when I bought my iPad 2 mail worked fine.
Today I found out that it did not move from portrait into landscape.
Now it does not work at all; I cannot go to another mail or delete a message.
Does anybody know how to solve that?

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
For the iPad not rotating, is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. I've changed my Apple ID email and password. now I can't send texts and so many things happening on my Iphone 5

I have a laptop with microsoft outlook for work emails, and an ipad (with IOS 7.1) and an i-phone with ios 7.0.6 currently. Since about 2 weeks ago, I now get all spam emails coming to my aple device inbox.

In other words, my outlook email account correctly identifies spam email and places it automatically into my spam inbox on outlook, but with my iphone and ipad, all the apm emails as well as my "good" emails are coming into my inboxes on my apple devices. In other words, they are not correctly synconising with my outlook inbox? They have all worked happily in tandem for a few years, but recently, they have stopped synchronising incoming email and I now get hundreds of spam email downloading onto my apple devices where as before this didn't happen. Any explanations? solutions?

Maverick Update: Disabled Email and Office Mac Software

Has anyone else experienced this. I cant send emails and I now cant use any of the Office Mac 2011 software utilities like excel, powerpoint, word. I am at my wits end I have been to the Apple stores in Sydney twice now to try to resolve this and each time walked away with no resolution. I am running two businesses from my Mac Book Pro - I am absolutely beside myself trying to work out what to do.

yes, the software is on your Mac but it isnt licenced or owned by you so the digital rights management system Apple employs is blocking the application from being used. Its to stop illegal distribution of downloaded software.
my only suggestion is to phone Apple and see if they can transfer ownership

Error updating RSS feed, email and calendar

About 2 weeks ago my Droid X running Gingerbread, stopped updating RSS feeds, email and calendar but other apps/widgets seem to work fine.
If I go in to the RSS feed and try to subscribe to a new feed I get the following error message, "Can't add news subscription now. Try again later."
Also noticed that Check for update gives "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later."
My thought was to try to manually reinstall Gingerbread. Followed instructions found on other forum sites but when trying to reload GB from recovery I get the following error:

Thanks for providing your experience on refreshing the RSS feeds on your device. Based on the information you have given and what Cody21 previously stated, I recommend as factory reset also. Before doing a reset, I suggest verifying that your contacts are saved on Gmail and/or backup assistant and calendars are backed up on your Gmail account. This is to ensure that your personal info can easily be restored after the factory reset. Any digital media, like pictures and videos, will be saved on your memory card & won't be erased unless you wish to do so.
Once the reset is done, try to access and update your RSS feed to your preference to confirm that the issue is resolved. If so, please respond to this posting so other can benefit from your experience. If not, then feel free to elaborate on your experience after the reset so we can further assist.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

I received pictures in a dozen emails and saved each picture into one file in .pages. I did not import the photos before doing this and now iPhoto won't recognize the pictures because they are in a .pages file. How do I get the pics to iPhoto?

I received a dozen pictures in a few emails and I saved them all into one file in pages. I just copied and pasted. I do not have the originals any longer. Iphoto will not permit me to import the pictures as it does not recognize a .pages file, nor can I simply click and drag from the pages document to iphoto nor from pages to the desktop to iphoto. How can I save each picture I guess back into a jpeg and then import them into iphoto or have i lost them to a pages document forever? This is urgent as I need the pictures made into a book on iphoto for work by Friday!!! Please advise! Thank you.

Locate the Pages document wherever it's located on your computer and click once on it to highlight it.
Go to File > Duplicate to make a backup copy of the file.
Click once again on the file to highlight it.
Go to File > Get Info
In the "Name & Extension" category remove the ".pages" extension and put in ".zip".
Close the info window and double-click the now renamed pages file (zip file now).It will decompress into a folder which contains all the base components including all the images you added. These can be dragged onto the iPhoto icon to import them.
