Email app suddenly deleted all mail more than a month old on the ISP's mail server!

I've lost all my e-mails from more than one month ago on my ISP's mail server. My Palm Pixi Plus (running WebOS 1.4.5) still has all the old e-mails, but I would prefer to have a record of them with my ISP.
My settings are set up to only delete something from my ISP if I've deleted it on my Palm. Clearly, I have not deleted these items, so there is no reason they should have been deleted on the ISP side.
I was nowhere near to using up my ISP's storage quota either. Last time I checked, I was only using 20% of my storage.
And then today I log on to my webmail and I can't see any of my messages from May or June or even October!
This was working up until a week or so ago.
I spoke with my ISP and they told me to post the bug here, and they have not deleted or would have no reason to delete the old e-mails.

I might add that my profile was out of date. I no longer have the Treo 680. This is about email on webos on an at&t pixi plus.

    I have created other rules to move some of my daily messages into specific folders and I don't wish to auto-delete those.

    Thanks, but I am looking for a more automated solution than hand marking emails as junk. I might as well move them to the trash myself.
    Again, these are emails I want to receive and quickly read, but not keep longer than a week or month or so. By setting a rule to toss any older than 30 days back then my Mail program (and thus my hard drive) won't be wasting so much space. For example, currently I have over 6000 read messages, with their attachments, in my main email box. I'd rather not have to physically attend to sorting the one I don't want out.
    The one I do keep for other reasons get moved into other folders.
    It seems this should be possible.

  • HT2513 Help! iCal is deleting some events, as well as deleting anything more than 1 month old

    HELP! iCal is deleting events, seemingly at random. It is also deleting everything more than a month old.  Since I have no other record of my calendar, this is a disaster. 
    This has nothing to do with icloud, as my Mac is showing the identical calendar with identically missing items.  Nor have I added or deleted any calendars.

    Thanks, xmad, I'll look at th CPU again tomorrow/next day under the glass when I take the board out.  I already checked them under magnification and was leaning toward a funky board, but it never hurts to re-check.  Eyesight is not what it used to be, for sure (I miss DOS, if that's a clue...).  Don't want to flash the BIOS if not necessary, since it runs Windows fine and everything works except that RAM.
    Bernhard, I don't have CPU-Z installed on that machine and don't want to install anything else until it's working normally.  I'd never seen Click-Bios before and just need to get over my initial suspicion of something new!  Also learn my way around it before I change anything.  I'd never encountered a board reporting a bios different than printed on it.  I've never messed with manual memory settings or done more overclocking than just a little exploratory and suprisingly successful nudge - if you could point me toward a  good basic explaination of all those settings, I could learn from there.
    Appreciate your input very much.   
    Have learned a lot just reading the threads here for the last few days.  This is the best forum I've ever encountered.  I'll report back - some suggestions in other posts resembling my problem ended with no resolution, and that's a shame because one doesn't know if it worked or not.

  • Mail saved on my Mac more than 3 months old? Poof, gone!

    I switched to Leopard Mail several months ago, love it, sync it with AOL IMAP, works across the board on all my devices. Then today I noticed that any mail saved before mid-December had mysteriously evaporated from the "On My Mac" folders. Is there some sort of option that clears out anything more than 90 days old? How can I make it stop?

    Check the "Mail" preferences and account settings. In there you have the option to remove deleted mail after a given time (1 week is default, I think) and the same goes for junk mail. I dont think there's a specific option for inbox mail, but check your "rules" to see if there's anything there that's deleting your mail. Do you have any smart mailboxes that contain old email? Perhaps you inadvertently used something like that and deleted the email. By itself, Mail should keep downloaded messages for as long as you want. If they're still in your inbox, however, and they're deleted from the server, then they'll disappear from your inbox. I've found it best to have a separate, local inbox I call "Old" and everything older than 1 month gets tossed in that folder. I've set that up as a rule, and periodically run the rule on all messages so they get put there.

  • How do I display more than one month calendar in the day-view?

    iCal has always had a nice feature that allowed me to display little, what I call, mini-month calendars while in the day-view.  This allowed me to quickly jump to a day two or three (or more) months ahead (or behind) to check appointments on that day or set an appointment, without switching out of the day-view.
    The mini-month was a small clickable calendar that looked something like this:

    15 16 17 18 19 20 21
    22 23 24 25 26 27 28
    There was also a forward and backward arrow box [ < ][ > ] that allowed me to quickly scroll to the mini-month to find the day I wanted to click into.  And, if I wanted to give it more room by adjusting the frame, I could display up to three months at a time within my day view.
    Since upgrading iCal to 5.0 with the Lion upgrade, I can no longer display more than the current mini-month calendar on the day view.
    This is REALLY inconvenient.  Now, there is no way (that I know of) for me to stay in the day view and be able to jump ahead to a specific day two or three months out, or even to a day in the NEXT month without either going to the year view (a big waste of time) or click on the last day of the current month and then clicking the ">" day arrow to get to the next day which then shows that month's mini-calendar.

    Unfortunately you can't do what you want. Many people have complained to Apple about this. I suggest you provide Apple feedback directly at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html. They will not provide a direct response but hopefully if enough people provide feedback Apple will fix this.

    Either check the correctness of the hostname/port, or check your network settings (firewall, router, etc).

  • HT201343 So if my iMac is more than 12 months old I can no longer use AirPlay?  This is ridiculous!!!  Do I have to go back to snow leopard to have the use of what I pay for?

    I "upgraded" to Mountain Lion and lost the Airplay function.  My computer - iMac 2010 - is apparently to 'old' for this.  
    There must be a work around or the staff at Apple is not nearly as sensible as I thought.

    You can not merge accounts.
    Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

    Use to have 'No Limit' as an option... where did it go?  Worthless if I can't work with email more than a month old.

    The option is there, just disappears once you add the account. 
    The work around is to delete the account and re-add it.  Immidately after you add the account go into the account settings and select "Mail Days to Sync".  "No Limit" will appear at the top, select it and save.  After a few seconds the option will no longer be visible but the mail account will function properly.  If you select another time restriction, you'll have to start over.

    Now when you view the schedule, does monday display correctly? In my case, the wrong email address is displayed for monday, yet when you edit the schedule it shows correctly. Had this SR open with oracle since March, and now they are refusing to do anything else on it.
    It only manifests itself on old users, a brand new user works perfectly. I have the same problem on my live 10.2.0.1 grid and my test 10.2.0.2 grid systems.
    If you have the time to try it out ( i know its a minor thing), I'd appreciate it.

    Bear in mind the SR was raised in March this year.
    I've demonstrated the problem at 10.2.0.1, they asked me to upgrade to 10.2.0.2, so I did. Still had the issue, so I demo'ed it again for them. A newly created user does not exhibit the issue. I argued this wasn't a workaround, as all rules, UDMS etc would have to somehow migrated to the new user. A lengthy manual task, plus, a few months down the line I'm not guaranteed that I won't have the same issue again. So they raised a bug (5337476). Then they asked for a copy of the repository which I gave them. Two days after supplying the export, they want me to set up a brand new environment, to replicate the issue from scratch. I lost what little patience I had, arguing if I don't know what caused the issue, how can I be expected to replicate it? The fact I have the problem on two separate grid systems, on more than one user on each system, is stunning evidence of a problem.
    Oracle keep trying to fob me off, if someone else is also experiencing the same issue it would serve as some desparately needed ammo!
