Email atachments: PDF and other

I need to attach documents when I reply to email. The docs are PDF and text files sitting in a 3rd party app (air sharing, good reader, etc). So I go to there, copy the doc and try to paste it in the email. It doesn't work.
My question is if this is because of Apple's sandboxing restrictions or just the apps are crap. If its the apps, then I will look for a good app. (If it is Apple's fault, then no more iOS things for me).

Adobe Acrobat X - convert outlook email to pdf and include attachments as pdf

Is there a way to save an Outlook email as a PDF and include attachments as extra pages within the same PDF? I know I can convert an email to PDF and it will include the attachments as links. My end users feel that their clients won't understand the link feature, and/or the paper clip on the side pane. They'd rather convert an email and have it's attachments converted also, making the pdf an email message + converted attachments....all in one process. The only way currently is to open each attachment and convert them individially, then combine the email pdf and attachment pdf together. Too many steps involveed there.

PDF and other doc viewing

The ability to view PDF (and other files) as email attachments is a good start, but I really need more.
Especially with respect to PDF files, I want to be able to store and open these separately from Mail, have the iPhone remember the last page I was on for each document and provide some sort of jump to page feature.
Also, for PDF files which have internal links, these should work...
perhaps a "Docs" app like Photos that lets us sync documents with selected folders on our Mac...

Pages ’09 v4.3 and Pages v5.2.2 are entirely different document architectures. Consequently, copying and pasting a table from Pages ’09 circumvents the customary translation process that would occur if you opened that Pages ’09 document in Pages v5.
Make a backup copy of the Pages ’09 document that has the table in it, and then open this document in Pages v5.2.2. The table is translated into Pages v5 document format and displayed correctly. You can even select this Pages v5.2.2 table, and then copy/paste it into another Pages v5.2.2 document with accurate results.

Firefox 4 crashes when loading pdf and other sites unless I first open it in safe mode and then revert

So firefox 4 crashes when opening in-browser pdfs and a whole host of other sites, even with no addons running.
I've found a fix: start in safe mode, then close and open in normal mode. This always solves the problem.
But '''why?''' What is causing this incredibly annoying problem. I went from happily browsing at high speeds (firefox 3.6) to suddenly finding myself propping my head on my arm, looking at a jammed firefox, trying not to go crazy, for about 2 minutes until it unjams (for pdfs - for the other sites it doesnt unjam) - and the pdf page ends up just black. God forbid I press F5 again lest I want to relive the experience.
This only happens on my work laptop. It's a top of the line laptop. It connects via a remote VPN. I'm not sure if that's relevant but I'm trying to give as much info as possible.

IMO, Mozilla is making a huge mistake by directly offering these beta versions to the general public.
Also IMO. if you want to play with 4.0b1, use the Portable Firefox 4.0beta version to minimize any conflicts with a currently installed version of Firefox, and to eliminate the need for creating a new Profile for 4.0 Beta #:

Pages 09 Are enterable forms possible? So that I can export to PDF and others can fill in that form and return to me?

No, this capability does not exist in Pages.
LibreOffice has a forms designer so that you can create in-line, fillable forms. You can then one-button export to PDF. The LibreOffice Writer Guide has an entire chapter assigned to Forms.

Printing to PDF from existing PDFs and other MS programs for Mac

I just purchased Adobe PDF Pack software online because it said it is required if you want the print to PDF function to work from an existing PDF, word or excel, ppt file. Now I don’t see that functionality. Am I missing something or was this software not the correct item to buy? My computer is a Mac OSX Version 10.6.8

With your Adobe PDF Pack subscription, you can convert files to PDF using the CreatePDF service, or convert PDF files to various formats (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others) using the ExportPDF service.
To get started, you log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com and log in with your Adobe ID and password. The files you convert are stored online in your account, but you can download them to your computer as well.

Why can't i put an out of office on my iphone email? Blackberry and other android phones will allow this feature.

I just purchased my iPhone, one thing I don't like is that with my Blackberry it allowed me to put an Out of Office reply to my emails. I thought the iPhone was a leader!!! Blackberry and other Android phones can do it.

Why can't you? Simple..Apple doesn't include that feature.
Download and use iMExchange instead.

Wiki in pdf (and other format) , please

Yes, i'm new to archlinux.
But it's been a month that i installed "overlord" on my laptop and then on my PC.
i found that the wiki is very helpful but i prefer to read it in pdf so i copy those selected pages and paste to OpenOffice, convert it to pdf and read them via pdf viewer on another computer(i did it while installing arch on my laptop and do the opposite while installing on that PC).
Recently, i just know that there are some apps that can convert html page to pdf or else like "htmldoc" but it's not friendly enough for me though.
And i might miss something else beside htmldoc but it could be a time cunsuming task to convert those things.
So, is it possible for arch team to convert all topics to pdf that anyone can download them very easily and without any extra experience or effort?
I know, the wiki is alwals dynamic and it's a hard work and boring to do such things but i think this could be a great help for everyone(especially who loves reading pdf docs).I got this idea when i was searching some infos in Gentoo and FreeBSD's official sites that i could choose lots of format to download any docs and they're very informative and polished though some of them are obsolete or outdated. Yeah, the arch's pdf docs should be in the similar way or better.
If there's a better way to convert every single page to pdf, please tell me.
For now i've got plenty of them already, but for a very newbie it's would be nice, really.
And i think that's not easy to contribute the wiki myself while some might call me noob.
So what's your suggestion?.

Some time ago I wrote a little script to convert wiki to txt for the CD. As I'm using texinfo it was relatively easy to modify it to create pdfs. Like this.
I can guarantee you that it will fail on some pages, but it should work well for most of them.
You can find the script here
extract both files into one dir and then run
python wiki2pdf.py WIKIPAGETITLE
Caveat: This requires LaTeX

Photos sent from my iphone 4s to email addy's and other phones are not being recieived.

I've tried sending them as different sizes and to various email addy's and phones - they never get received.

It's called iMessage, new in iOS 5.0...these messages are going as iMessages, and as designed, they appear on all of your iOS devices(your Apple ID on your daughter's phone). Either turn iMessage off on your daughter's phone or get her her own Apple ID & wipe her phone & then setup it up again using her own Apple ID. Your daughter having her own Apple ID is recommended if you want to fully take advantage of iCloud, FaceTime, iMessage, etc. She can still use your iTunes account.

Corrupt PDF and other files via eMail?

Having strange going on with the printers of late.
I've used the exact same PDF settings for about 7 years and never have an issue.
I sent a PDF to the printers last week and the printed product had our logo printed incorrectly on it (there wasn't any time for a colour proof).
What happened was that the logo is built in CMYK, but the logo only printed 100% black areas of the logo - basically the backing of the logo is in black and that's all that printed.
The printers couldn't explain it and it's the same logo that's been used with other printers around that time and since then.
All is fine with the logo.
Today I sent a cover to the printers and there's an advert on the right hand side of the document that has corrupted. I opened the PDF I sent and all is fine.
The printer emailed me back what I sent to him and that seems to be corrupt - I can't explain it.
What I have done is sent him a link to download the file from my Dropbox - which bypasses the file hitting the email altogether.
When they got the file it was perfectly fine and printed just fine.
As a test I sent the file several friends of mine who all opened it on various machines, and printed it successfully on various devices.
The only common denominator here is that when I send the printer the file via Email it gets corrupted (nobody else I sent it to experienced any corruption).
What exactly can an email system/firewall/anti-virus or other variable possibly affect a PDF?
As a sidenote: I packaged the InDesign file and zipped it and sent that too - and that too got corrupted and the printers could not open it.

Download email attechments , pdf - jpg - other

Hello ,
I'm using a Lumia 925 but there is a problem with the attechments in emails.
When I get an email with an atteched file I double "click" on the email to download the complete email so I can see the attached file but when I want to open that file I get an error :
- The type of file you try to open is not allowed on this phone (translated from Dutch : "Het bestandstype dat u probeert te openen is niet toegestaan op de telefoon"
This error I get with normal PDF , jpg and bmp files (Adobe is installed so I has to be reconized ?? the other files ar standard windows files I think ? so those can't give that error either)
Who can help me solving this problem ? I'm often on the road so it's creating a lot of stress that I can't answer my clients correctly because this issue ...
Hope someone has the solution for me ?

What you've described is something I do everyday wuthout any issues. The pdf's would require the installation of a pdf reader as you have already done, but the jpg's should just open. There are no settings for you to change or tweak. Has it always been like this or has it only been like this recently?

Email both Yahoo and others problem on iphone

i have had to recreate my accounts (2) several times, they work, i get/send email and then boom, overnight, it stops working. i tried to reset today and can not get either to work. when I open them it simply says "checking for mail" and the circle thing goes round and round with no luck.
this is both in wireless areas and/or elsewhere,
any thoughts or suggestions, it has happened 3 times already and this time recreating the accounts do not help, frustrating.

I have had similar problems. Frequently my email retrieval goes into an endless spin of "checking for mail." I can correct it by resetting, but, this is becoming a real nuisance. I would be interested if there is some other procedure or setting that might correct it.
