Email attachment protected view

Hello,
I am running Office 365 Exchange Online and Office 2013 subscriptions on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit box.
Even though protected view is disabled in Word, DOCX email attachments still open in a protected view instead of an edit view.  (see attached pics)
Actions taken so far:
Removed the Office 2013 install using the removal tool from KB2739501
Downloaded & installed Office 2013 from my Office 365 portal
Can confirm the removal & reinstall did NOT re-enable protected view in Word.  I was thinking it would be enabled by default and I would have to disable it again.
Still no change as DOCX email attachments still open in a protected view in Word instead of an edit view
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi,
Does this only happen to Word file? What about other Office application files? Also, is this a home or corporate network?
As far as I know, this setting does not apply if File Block Settings force the file to open in Protected View, or if a file fails
Office File Validation.
The File Block Settings should not be a problem here as I can see from your screenshot, Word file type is not blocked. Do you happen to have any Office File Validation settings created in your network? By default, files that fail Office File Validation are
opened in Protected View.

  • Changing email attachment default viewer/editor on iPad.

    When i receive emails with attachments and then click on the attachments goes to safari but then asks to open in Dropbox. I'm not given any other options. How do I get my iPad to stop this behavior? It didn't always do this.

    You can delete an email account from the Mail app by tapping on the account id in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then tapping 'Delete Account'- if that is where your contacts are coming from then when you delete the account you should get the option as to whether or not to remove the account's contacts. If multiple email accounts are still on the iPad after that then you can set the default account for new emails via Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > Default Account.
    For Messages if the iPad is using your account then Settings > Send & Receive, tap on the id at the top of that screen and sign out of it. She can then sign in with her own account.

  • Email attachment to calendar item can't be viewed in Webacc

    We have a user that is posting Calendar items for his boss. He creates the item and then drags and drops an email to attach it to the meeting item. All is well in the Groupwise Client but if the Calendar item is viewed in Web Access, you can not see the body of the item OR the email attachment.
    Anybody have any ideas how to create an item such as this and make it viewable in Web Access?
    I spoke with him about "Change to . . ." but then the email is removed from the Mailbox. They want the email to remain but the content to be attached to the Calendar item.
    Any thoughts?

    Which Version of GroupWise are you using? I have GW 7.0.3 Version
    9/11/2009. The attachment of an E-mail I have with a visio attachment
    works. I'm able to open the attachment from IE 8.
    Note: I posted the message as a Task by dragging it to my calendar icon
    in GW Client and selecting Task as the type.

    Hi,
    I have posted this question few times before and still have not gotten a definite answer. Can someone confirm if I can configure the desktop manager to view email attachment? If so, how do I achieve it? I am not one BES or BIS.
    I have looked at the below KB and tried using the application launcher to install the attachmen service, however, it was not available in the application loader wizard.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    First of all if you are nither BES nor BIS then there is no question of integrating email IDs in your device. Meaning no possibility of viewing email attachment in your device. For using any BlackBerry features you have to have a BlackBerry data plan. Please clarify this point.
    Now regarding attachment viewing through Desktop Manager configuration is not possible. There is no such option in BlackBerry.

    I get several thousand emails a day and have no issues. Sounds like either the mail account in Mail is configured incorrectly or the Exchange Server (I'm assuming you meant Exchange Server and not Outlook Server) needs a software update or may have a setting that doesn't play well with other mail clients.

  • I have an email attachment that I would like to be able to access when NOTconnected.  I found one suggestion that I should open the attachemtn iniBooks and save it there.  Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do that.

    I am trying to store an email attachment (an Excel spreadsheet) somewhere on my iPhone 5 to be able to access it easily in the future.  I do not need the ability to work on it, just to access it, although it would be convenient if i could load updated versions over it on a regular basis.  The spreadsheet was created in Excel on a laptop with Win 7.  I read one posting that said I should save the document to iBooks and then could open it whenever I wanted.  The same posting refered to something in the upper right corner of the attachment that enabled me to save it to iBooks.  Unfortunately, there is no such option showing when I looked at the file, which I did email to myself.  I was able to open the attachment, but can't get beyond this point.  My tech ability doesn't go much beyond being able to power up my phone, so I need a really simple solution, if one exists.

    First of all, Excel file can't save to iBook.  (iBook only can view PDF files). That's why you don't see it in "open in" options.  In order for you to save excel, you will need a third party app like Numbers, Office2.  There are a few free apps that can use to view.  I used Office2 from Byte2, because I can not only store and view later, I can do some edit too.  Especially when you want to edit a few numbers and re send them to my office or clients will be very useful for me.

  • Receive an email attachment and process it

    Hello all,
    could you please explain me, how can I process an email attachment, that comes into XI? My scenario is follows: I receive a mail with attachment into XI, search in attachment to which email this message should be forward and forward the modified message to receiver.
    I' ve done successful the similar scenario with java mapping, where an incoming IDOC was parsed and mapped to mail message with attachment. Outgoing mail structure was in this case follows:
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
        <Subject>=?utf-8?Q?Subject?=</Subject>
        <From>"mailSender"&lt;[email protected]&;gt;</From>
        <To>"mailReceiver"&lt;[email protected]&;gt;</To>
        <Content_Type>multipart/mixed; boundary="--AaZz"</Content_Type>
        <Content>----AaZz
            Content-Type: text/plain;         charset=UTF-8
            Content-Disposition: inline
            Confirm with attachment.
            ----AaZz
            Content-Type: application/xml;
            name=Auftrag.xml
            Content-Disposition: attachment;
            filename=confirm.xml
            <?xml  version=&quota;1.0&;quot; encoding="UTF-8>
    </Content></ns:Mail>
    Now I try to repeat this, but I don't get such incoming structure from pipeline. I always see there two payloads: mailMessage and mailAttachment. Could anybody tell me, how have I to configure send channel to get such structure by receiving a mail into xi in xi payload? Is it possible? if no, than how can I handle with attachment of incoming mail message?
    thanks in advance

    Hi Anna !
    Try to do this:
    Send an email to the email account configured in the mail sender adapter, but avoid XI to pick it up. Instead, downloaded with your mail client (webmail or something like outlook). There should be an option to see the mail in RAW format, with all headers and content, sometimes refered as "original message". And try to find the headers related to the attachment, like the ones below as stated in the blog. Maybe in your case the header is a different one and payloadswapbean should be configured differently. And also be sure that your attachment is already in XML, if not, XI will not be able to send it to the integration engine for mapping.
    Regards,
    Matias.
    ps: please award points if helpful.

  • Is it possible to disable inline email attachment preview in Yosemite?

    I was hoping that there would be an option/setting in Yosemite to disable inline email attachment previews in Mail to view an attachment as an icon. Attachment Tamer seems to be the only work-around, but it isn't available for Yosemite yet. Any suggestions?

    Thank you, Ralph.
    Yes, I tried all of that. The best I could find is Mail > Edit > Attachments > and check "Always Insert Attachments at End of Message." Its better than nothing!
