Email attachments - TONS of ATT*******.htm files appear during FORWARD -

Why when an email with attachments is forward does the iphone add an ATTXXXXX.htm for every attachment. Sample below.

Matt: Thanks for the quick reply... both computers have the identical antivirus software package. I'm thinking that there has to be something in the configuration of Thunderbird that is slightly different that is giving the different results.

  • How to send email attachments in body not as file

i use btyahoo but i can change this. Im trying to send marketing emails to clients from ipad, i have made my flyer in pages and want that to show up in my email body and not as a file to download. How can i do this?
    Thank u!

    Michael-
Different mail programs handle attachments differently.  You might send a graphic image or a photograph as an attachment, and it will arrive as part of the message body.  In other words, your flyer might work as an attachment if it was created as a JPEG image or could be converted to one.  But some of your clients may not have the same mail program, so their flyer would arrive as an attachment that needed to be downloaded.
To do what your initial question asked, you would probably need a different mail App that would allow HTML as Allan stated.  I don't know if such an App exists for the iPad.  This may be one of those cases where you are trying to use an iPad to do a computer's job!

DoubleCAD XT: Including this in a Free .DWG viewer category is almost insulting it, as it is a full fledged 2D Drafting tool like AutoCAD LT. It is completely free. It can indeed open your .DWG files, and you can also edit them. It can also import Google Skethup files, and do a lot more. Read more about this fantastic software here.
Autodesk DWG TrueView: This is a free DWG viewer from Autodesk. It is not just a DWG viewer, but also a CAD file conversion software for translating any AutoCAD design application or AutoCAD-based drawing file for compatibility.
Autodesk Design Review: This also comes from the house of Autodesk. It is an integrated, all-digital way to view, print, mark up, and compare versions of 2D and 3D drawings, maps, and models—without the original design-creation software.
eDrawings Viewer: This comes from house of SolidWorks. eDrawings Viewer allows convenient viewing of native AutoCAD files (DWG and DXFT) and native SolidWorks parts, assemblies, and drawings.
Bentley View: Bentley View is a free DWG, DGN and CAD File Viewer. It’s the best tool for projects that require a powerful viewing, measuring, and printing application for MicroStation, AutoCAD, or hybrid projects.
Varicad Viewer: Varicad Viewer is a scaled-down version of VariCAD. It can open STEP (3D), DWG (2D), DXF (2D), Varicad, and IGES (2D) files.
Free DWG Viewer: This free DWG viewer can view and measure DWG, DXF, and DWF files. It has XRef support to view layers & block attributes.
pls try one of the above..as an alternate solution ,if none of them are able to open it ...then pls let me know

  • No htm files in search results

I'm working on an X5 project (WebHelp Pro Output through RoboEngine 3) and when I search the published project, I only get pdfs, xls, doc, etc.  No htm files appear in the results.  Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
I attached an image as an example.  This search should pull up at least 1 htm file.

It looks like you didn't register PDF file type in your search service application.
Go to Central Administration->Manage Service Application. Click on the name of your search service application and check file types (link in the left column)

  • Problem opening PDF email attachments

How do I get email attachments to open as PDF files in Adobe Reader instead of Photoshop Element?

In windows explorer, right-click a closed PDF file’s icon and select “Open with”→ Adobe Reader from the pop-up menu. Turn on the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” checkbox to set Reader to open all PDF files.

  • Trouble downloading email attachments

Can anyone enlighten me as to why all of a sudden (about a couple of months ago) email attachments such as pictures, wmv files and slides won't open any more. It looks as if the files are downloading but instead of then opening and playing, nothing happens. The black slideshow box opens and indicates however many pictures there are, but it just goes round in circles and remains black. Grateful for any help.

    No luck unfortunately
I turned off all the security preferences I could (Filevault, waking the computer with password etc), except for the master password, and I still am having the same problem of my email attachments not downloading.
While using Stellar Phoenix Demo to try and recover my deleted files,I had to create a new account, one for myself and one for the Root. Could creating either of these possibly have an effect? I know how stupid that sounds but the separate accounts and the master password being set are the only two options left that I can't change and I'm still having problems downloading attachements.

  • Can no longer open email attachments

All of a sudden I was unable to open email attachments with my att yahoo account. I was able to open them using Explorer. I tried all the suggestions posted including clearing history, safe mode, and resetting Firefox, to no avail. This problem occurs with all email extensions.

''I solved the problem by doing an uninstall and reinstall of Firefox ''
Glad that worked for you. <br /> Whilst posters in this thread have the same broad and vague symptom the cause may vary. Reinstalling Firefox may be overkill for this type of problem, and a simple reinstall is often not a very good solution to anything.
Walter & the sign out solution.<br />Probably a quick and simple trick if it works. The clear cache and site cookies suggestion in the second post of this thread is probably a more reliable method of doing of solving that sort of issue.
    == ''';-)''' ==
This reminds me of another Forum I was on.
Threads often had suggested solutions along the lines of
#Uninstall browser A use browser B, that worked for me
#Followed by another poster saying uninstall browser B use A
In fact the thread would be one where clearing cache and cookies would be the preferred solution. Uninstalling a browser and reinstalling a brand new instance of another has a similar effect to clearing cache and cookies, but is nowhere near as convenient.

  • "Save as" dialog box doesn't come up, even though I have "Always ask me where to save files" selected (email attachments)

Recently, the "save as" dialog box quit appearing when I attempt to download email attachments. I have the "always ask me where to save files" box checked in the tools/options/general/downloads area. The box still appears when I use Chrome, but not when I use Firefox.

    Hello,
Can you please follow these steps and provide the value for the configuration 'browser.download.useDownloadDir'

    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''', to continue to the about:config page.

  • Auto saving email attachments using date email received as the name of the attachment file

I would like to be able to batch save hundreds of email attachments in my inbox to a specified folder and use the date and time email was received as the name of the file.  i found sample script that would give it timestamp but would prefer date and time of receipt.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • What settings need to be changed so logos (.png or .jpg) and other objects in the email (body_part_0.html or body_part_1.vcf) appear in the email in lieu of att

We have several computers that receive email via Thunderbird. Two individuals received that exact same email. On one of the emails, the attachments are shown correctly (PDF file and a ZIP file). On the other computer, the attachments are also shown but any company logos (.png or .jpg) and other objects in the email (body_part_0.html or body_part_1.vcf) do not appear correctly in the body of the email but appear at the bottom of the email as attachments. I can send PDF files of these (2) different emails if it would be helpful.

Matt: Thanks for the quick reply... both computers have the identical antivirus software package. I'm thinking that there has to be something in the configuration of Thunderbird that is slightly different that is giving the different results.

  • Corrupt email attachments and uploading of files

    Hi all.
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now but just spoken to BT and they told me the line/connection is fine and they cannot help me any further.  I had read that it could be noise or static on the line but according to BT this is not the case.
My problems are occuring when I send email attachments via Mail, they almost always are being corrupted when the recipient receives them.  Also, when I upload amended website files via FTP, quite a few of the graphics end up corrupt:  Images display as half an image and half grey or they can display as small section of the image and the rest being a block of colourful noise.
I'm really at the end of my tether with this one, not only does it happen on my MacPro, it also happens on my MacBook Pro
I'd be really grateful of any help/suggestions from anyone please.
    Many thanks
    Mark

As said you'd have to transfer your file somehow to the database server; you could use ftp or standard windows shares for that. After you uploaded your file you could use dbms_lob to process your file and insert it into the database: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_lob.htm#ARPLS020
Or you could use BFILES to store pointers of your files in the table:
    http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/BFILE
The other way round you'd simply use ftp or what ever else to download those files to the client and display them with host with the associated program. Bfiles would have the benefit that the files are not stored as blobs in the database but on the filesystem which would spare you the writing of a temporary file to transfer it to the client (and reading it with dbms_lob when transfering it to the server) as the file resides on the file system of the database server.
    cheers

  • ATT .HTM attachments - FIX PLEASE

Please play nice together. Please add the same options to the iDevices mail client.

    Options to add;
    Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments
Always Insert Attachments at End of Message
Please we are all so tired of the ATT .HTM attachments. Less finger pointing, PLEASE...
So embarrassing trying to send decent looking emails through exchange.
Yes I posted this in the feedback area.

There is no one company to blame here, this is by design of each company.
You didn't even read the link you posted did you?
Here, I'll save you the trouble and paste some quotes from it here:
+"This is not dependent on the mail program, it can happen with any mail program "+
+"This happens because Microsoft Exchange Server is reformatting messages sent through it."+
+"Microsoft has a KB article confirming that this is a problem with Exchange Server 2007 and 2010"+
How exactly is this Apple's problem to "fix"?
To think Apple doesn't monitor these boards is crazy and say it is even crazier.
Reading isn't your strong point is it? The Terms of Use of these forums state the facts clearly.
The "hosts" of these forums monitor them to make sure everybody is sticking to the rules. Apple employees do not post here in any official capacity (if they do, it's just in their spare time as users like us), and Apple developers do not participate in these forums. They are user-to-user forums only.

  • I can't open email attachments on my ipad that have an arrow on them.  Those with a W open just fine. Also can't open jpeg files-- they also have an arrow on them. Any ideas?

Hi, I can't open email attachments that have an arrow on them. Attachments with a W (windows) open just fine. I have an ipad 3. Thanks for any ideas.

Attachments that show as a bold downward pointing arrow in a gray rectangle in a dotted box have not yet been downloaded to your phone (usually because they are large). Tapping such an icon should download the attachment if you are connected to the internet and your mail server is reachable. Once downloaded, they should appear as normal (which would depend on the attachment type).
This is the "Using iPhone" forum, so I said phone, but the same applies on an iPad.

  • Video Files as email attachments - what formats on iPhone 3Gs ?

    Hi
This may turn out to be a dumb newbie quesiton but what format video files can I play when sent as email attachments?
WMV shows as an attachment with the Qucktime icon but can't download/play
MPG allows you to launch but then says "Movie format is not supported"
Do I need to install a specific player app or is there a setting somewhere that I need to make?... or is this not possible (seems unlikely)
Plays vids on YouTube etc no problem.
