HI ,
i m using demo mail to send the mail from oracle database . when i m using my mail servers smtp the mail are going fine but now i m installed the " MAIL ENABLE" SMTP server .when i use this the email procedure gave me error ora-29279 smtp perminant error :503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non local email addresss ..........................................
I m using oracle 10g xe and forms 6i

Hi Adil,
Will you use that mailenable for only sending emails from oracle DB? If so, you may change "relay" settings of "mailenable":
Go to "SMTP Relay options", and set "Allow relay for privileged IP ranges" and enter the IP address of your DB server. So "mailenable" will not require an authentication.

Multiple Email Accounts using MS Mail

I want to setup multiple email accounts using MS mail. My already has an account, but I want to add an account for my son. I've added the account on verizon and in MS mail. However, I want to have completly separate accounts so that when my son opens his email he only see his email and when my wife opens her email, she only sees her email. Right now, when MS mail is opened both their emails come up and when they send an email, they must select which email account they are sending from.
Does anyone know how to do this?

One option would be to not use MS Mail (I assume you really mean Windows Live Mail?). You could create accounts for them and have them just use the Web mail interface to get to their mail.
Another option would be to give each person their own "user account" on your machine instead of all logging into the computer as the same userid. If you do this, any mail settings will remain with the individual account.

Can someone please help me figure out how to “clear” recent email addresses used in Mail? For example, as I begin typing a name/email address in the “To:” field, Mail begins suggesting addresses that I’ve previously used. I don’t want any suggestions unless they are in my contacts.
Another example: When using MS Outlook, it will also remember and suggest email accounts previously used, but I can arrow down and delete an account from the list so it won’t automatically popup or suggest in the future.
I appreciate any guidance in this matter.

The iOS email app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which cannot be turned off. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from contacts and from the list of previous recipients which can't be prevented. There is no option to clear the list of previous recipients - not at the present time anyway.
If you don't want any suggestions, select from contacts instead when addressing an email.

Most of the message Flags work only for IMAP mailboxes. POP3 supports only the DELETED flag. It must be understood that Javamail is a framework which provides all the features available in a standard mailing system. But whether or not a particular feature works is a functionality of the particular implementation being used.
Thus for example POP3 cannot differentiate read from unread messages in a mailbox though Javamail provides that feature.

IPhoto 11--unable to email pics using iPhoto mail

After I select a photo and then click on the "Share" button to email the photo using iPhoto, iPhoto crashes. However, when I change the mail program in iPhoto to Apple Mail, I am able to email the photo.

Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's in there and close iPhoto. Relaunch iPhoto and add it back again.

If you don't then do so. If you do and still can't send from iPhoto with "Mail" set as your email client,
Then delete the Gmail account, close Mail, reopen and add it back again.

I'd like to be able to email a batch of photos using the various web mail clients: gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. I'd like to be able to upload and resize a number of photos at one time to use in these web mail programs.

There is one for GMail, but none for Yahoo, AFAIK.
As you're using 10.5, If you use the extended Open or Attach dialogue (with Column View) you can scroll to the bottom of the Shortcuts and find the Media browser there. Select any pic you want from there.

Emailing Photos Using Yahoo Mail

Hi,
I can't email a photo from the photo app.
I click on a photo, add it to a new email and add a recipient and then send it.
It always appears to send but never arrives at the recipients mailbox. Have tried sending to friends and to my other email addresses.
Is there something I'm missing here?

If they iPhone is saying it has been sent, that indicates it has been uploaded to and acknowledge by your outgoing mail server. However, to further isolate the issue, would you mind trying the following steps as a means of troubleshooting?
1. Create a trial .Mac account on www.mac.com - you do not need to enter billing information, and you will not be automatically charged. You also don't need a Mac to have a .Mac account.
2. Add that email account to your iPhone, using the .Mac option in Settings -> Mail -> Add Account
3. Set the .Mac account to the default account to troubleshoot
4. Attempt to send a picture.
If it arrives at the destination it indicates your iPhone is communicating with the SMTP server, but the message is being filtered or stopped somewhere else along the route to the recipient.

You have no idea? Then look in your JavaMail download and you will find several sample programs that you can use to get started. It would also help to read the JavaMail FAQ (Google will find it easily for you).

I don't know how to do that. Likely it's possible, but I doubt that it's easy.
The IMAP protocol provider supports the SASL API, and you can probably
plug in smart card support underneath the SASL API, but I don't know

Delayed email delivery using mail app in Lion

I'm having issues with delayed email delivery using the mail app in Lion. Specifically I have an IMAP account (AOL) that is working fine on other macs running snow leopard and on both an iPhone and an iPad. I receive an email that shows up on all other devices but does not get delivered on the Macbook Air. Clicking get new messages does not delivery the email, even if other emails have been delivered in the interim. The only way to get the email to show up is to exit Mail and restart it - and then the email shows up, in the correct date/time order and the correct read status (since I had already read it on another device).
This has happened twice now with my AOL account in the past 24 hours (I've only had the new Macbook Air since Monday). It might also be happening on my other IMAP email accounts but I have not noticed it yet. It's intermittant as I've received many other emails correctly and ontime.
Anyone else seeing something similar? I've never seen this with earlier versions of Mac OS X or on devices running iOS.
This is a Macbook Air running Lion 10.7.1. I have 4 IMAP accounts set up. Mail is set to check for email once a minute and I have my IMAP accounts set to use the IDLE command.

I have the same problem, some photos are not loaded completely and partly grey. This occurs only in Mail.app but not in the web interface of the email provider. Did you find a solution, Florian? Does somebody else have a suggestion?

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account.
