Email body copy created by email submit button

The body of a message created by the email submit button contains the following copy:
"The attached file contains data that was entered into a form. It is not the form itself.
The recipient of this data file should save it locally with a unique name. Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 or later can process this data by importing it back into the blank form or creating a spreadsheet from several data files. See Help in Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 for more details."
How do I prevent this, or change the default copy?

jimmy,
I've also followed your advice. FYI I'm using LiveCycle Designer 7.1. My only problem is that I can't use HTML markup inside the HTTP Submit Button's URL attribute.
For example, a
tag in the HTTP Submit Button's URL attribute appears as just that inside the email body copy:
. There's no line break.
The default "Submit by Email" body copy message has a paragraph break as seen below:
The attached file contains data that was entered into a form. It is not the form itself.
The recipient of this data file should save it locally with a unique name. Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 or later can process this data by importing it back into the blank form or creating a spreadsheet from several data files. See Help in Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 for more details.
My question is, how can I add HTML markup in the email body copy? Can this be done with the HTTP Submit button's URL attribute or can the Email Submit Button be customized to change the above email body copy?

  • Send form is different email to address than specified in submit button

    I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 PRO (CS5) and have a problem where the "wrong" mailto: address is displayed to the responder after a PDF form has been completed by the responder... it appears in the final "Send Form" pop up which details the email address the PDF is being submitted to (as well as 2 x fields for the responder to add their "From" info into: 1."email address" and 2."Full Name")
    THE PROBLEM IS THIS: The "Send Form"email address shown at the top is not the same as the email address specified in the PDF Forms submit button (I've used "[email protected]" option) and though the submit button DOES send it to the correct specified email address it is showing my standard email address in the "Send Form" pop up box, which I don't want as I am sending a survey form so I would like my "[email protected]" email address to appear here and not my usual/main email address (I need it to display the same info as I've set my submit button to).
    What can I do to change the info that seems to automatically appear here...? (Also to change the reply "Subject Header" while I'm at it?)
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi George,
    Many thanks for your reply; it was really helpful - now my "Send Form" reply pop-up window shows the same email address as the email address I specified in my forms submit button: excellent! (it has caused a new problem now though, with my email server now barring the replies from reaching me for some reason, but I'll have to sort that out with our IP!)
    - SPECIFYING A PDF FORM'S REPLY EMAIL "SUBJECT HEADER":
    I am manually distributing a "saved" form and will collate the data from my email inbox at a later date; did you have a solution to change the "Subject Header" in the reply email if use this manual send process?

  • Email Body missing in some emails

    The body of some of my messages is missing. I am using IMAP and everything on the server seems fine. When I look at the raw source I can see the message body as well. I have tried rebuilding my inbox but that has not helped. I have deleted the cache and that has not helped. When I restart mail I get a couple of the "lost" messages back but they soon disappear.
    Can anyone help please?

    I've never experienced the same with a newly composed message received by my .Mac, IMAP or POP accounts but it does occur on occasion when receiving a message that was forwarded a number of times that was composed in HTML or received and forwarded by someone that uses HTML for message composition. In my experience, it primarily occurs when receiving a message from an AOL user that has been forwarded multiple times.

  • Text field as email subject line or email body

    I have a form with a text field. I would like to have the contents of the text field in either the subject of the email or referenced in the body of the email. I am using a submit button for the email.

    You might want to look at the event.target.mailDoc method which only works with Acrobat and attached the PDF to the email.
    var myDoc = event.target;
    var rEmail = TextField1.rawValue;
    myDoc.mailDoc(
    false,
    rEmail, "", "",
    "Subject goes here",
    "Body goes here."

  • Submit Button at Top Right Corber Not Displaying

    Hello,
    I created a PDF fillable form.  This is a form that will be sent out from our HR department to a variety of people.  We would like the end-user to submit the form via email.  We want the default "Submit" button at the top right corner to display rather than create a custom button.  In other words the submit button that shows up next to "Highlight Fields."
    So after I created the form, I clicked on "distribute" and chose the following:
    1.  Manually collect responses in my email box
    2.  Save a local copy and manually send it later
    Our HR person is using Acrobat Reader.  She can see the submit button.  BUT, when she sends the form to someone else (to fill out and email back to her), they cannot see the submit button.  Any ideas why?
    Lastly, is going through "Distribute" the only way to get the submit button to display at the top right?
    Thanks for any help!

    I think that I may have found my answer from another posting on here.
    The submit button in the purple bar will only appear if yo put the form throught the Distribute Form process in Acrobat, and you only need to do this if you want the forms to be submitted to Acrobat.com or one of the other options. SInce you don't want to do this, all you need to do is Reader-enable the form so it can be saved with Reader. To do this, start with a copy of the form as it was before you Distribited it and select one of the following depending in which version of Acrobat you have:
    Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
    Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
    Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
    Note that if you only want the form to be printed, you may not need the form to be enabled, which allows Reader to save a filled-in form. You may want this if it is a long form that the user may want to save after partially completing it so they can reopen it later and complete it. You should also advise your users to use Adobe Reader to fill-in the form.

  • How do i add a submit button to a form

    ho do i add a submit button to a form.

    Hi;
    If you are using the FormsCenral website to create a form it will have a submit button by default for the HTML (web) form and also by default it you are saving as PDF (there is an option to create a PDF without Submit, but by default it does submit to FormsCentral).
    If you are using the FormsCentral desktop application that is bundled with Acrobat XI you would have to sign into the service to create forms with Submit buttons.  You can also create a form without submit button in FormsCentral Desktop and then edit the form in Acrobat XI adding a submit button using your preferred submit method such as by email.
    Let me know if you need more information on either of these, it will be easier to assist knowing more about what you are using.
    Thanks,
    Josh
    PS - if this is a question about adding a submit button in Acrobat not related to FormsCentral your question would be best asked in http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat

  • How do you customize a submit button in comments module?

    Hi,
    I want to create a customized submit button for the comments module. Right now, the submit button shows up as a css button, i.e. an ugly gray square:
    http://www.graeagle.com/_blog/Graeagle_World/post/Artistic_Musings_in_Graeagle/
    I have a button here http://www.graeagle.com/images/btn_submit.jpg
    that I would like to swap out with the current css button.
    Alternatively, I would be happy with just the factory system button for the OS.
    I have looked at the modulestylesheets.css file and it appears the 'cat_button' style controlled the submit button.
    I have tried to modify the css, yet nothing changed.
    The issue seems to be only with the comments submit button since I have successfully changed the button on all my web forms for this site.
    I have searched the KB but have found no real guide. So, I would most certainly appreciate a step by step approach since I'm coming up empty.
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hey Liam,
    Thanks so much! The thing I neglected was changing the code on the Blog Details Module Template. So, from your links, I added new css code to my modulestylesheets.css file with the following:
    submit
    .submitBtn {
        font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;
        font-size: 18px;
        color: #FFF;
        padding: 5px 40px 5px 40px;
        border: 1px solid #999;
        text-shadow: 0px 1px 1px #666;
        text-decoration: none;
        -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        border-radius: 4px;
        -moz-border-radius: 4px;
        -webkit-border-radius: 4px;
        background: #333333;
        background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #333333 0%, #4F4F4F 50%, #333333 51%, #33333B 100%);
        background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#333333), to(#33333B), color-stop(0.4, #4F4F4F), color-stop(0.5, #111111), color-stop(.9, #33333B), color-stop(0.9, #33333B));
        filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#333333', endColorstr='#33333B', GradientType=0 );
        cursor: pointer;
    .submitBtn:hover {
        border: 1px solid #FFF;
    Then under the Site Manager:Module Templates:Blog Post Details Layout I changed the following html code:
    <input type="submit" value="Submit" />
    TO
    <button type="submit" class="submitBtn"><span>Submit</span></button>
    And it worked like  a charm!
    I wanted to post this here for future reference and help.
    Again, thanks for the great tips!
    Cheers!

  • Submit button to update csv file.

    Hello,
    I have designed a number of forms for my company which are quite basic but i want to be able to create a Radio (Submit) button to automatically update a CSV file.
    I know there is a feature for being able to merge multiple documents into a file but i would for a button to be able to do this automatically
    Is there a way with javascript?
    Thanks

    I would look at using a button.
    Radio buttons are for making a single selection from a group of options.
    You cannot export a CSV file from a PDF only a tab delimited text file.
    Merging multiple PDFs into one PDF is problematic with PDFs.

    Hi Blake ,
    There is an option of adding a button to a PDF .Follow these steps to add a button.
    Tools>Interactive Objects>Add a Button.
    Choose a place on the PDF where you want the button to be.
    Click on button properties on the dialog box that will appear.
    Click on the action tab to set a specific task that will be performed after clicking on the button.
    See the choices and let us know if that suits your requirement .

  • Using a submit button, how can I include a data key and a message in the body of the email??

    I have a form that I have created in LiveCycle with a submit button to have the completed form emailed to a specific person. I have it set up with a message in the body of the email, but I am looking to add an additional message based on the results of one of the fields in the form....is this possible without major script writing?
    I am not a programmer, but willing to learn some script.

    Yep! And if you absolutely need (or think you need) that functionality, it is worth every penny.
    As Don already pointed out, exactly what the recipient sees will depend on how they've set up their machine and what unnecessary 3rd party apps they might've installed to display attachments the way they want.
    In theory, that is true. In practice, Attachment Tamer will cause more of your messages to show up as plain-jane icons on the other end. The problem is, after all, people running Outlook 2003 and 2007. These people likely aren't doing many system modifications.
    If I were you, I'd use the free solutions provided above, save my money and let my recipients decide how they will handle their mail.
    I completely agree.

  • Email submit button concatenate subject and body

    Hello Expert,
    I'm trying to modify what the body of the email will look like once the user has pressed an email submit button. In Livecycle designer, I clicked on the button and viewed java script code

    My requirement is to change the body of the mail. Can anyone help me on this issue.

    Hi Abdul,
    Try this. Create a regular button and in the click event put this script.
    var mail;
    var add = mailAddress.rawValue; // the to mail address you want.
    var msg = "Sample message"; // This is the body of the mail Customize it as per need by fetching value from different fields
    var sub = "Sample Subject"; // This is the subject of the mail.
