Email Bounce

My new OS X Server has been running fine until I get a call from a client saying he can send mail to us, but we cannot reply back to him. It bounces back to us within minutes. While reviewing log files I notice I see the email leaving the server and getting to the clients server. But what is strange about it is that it is going to the clients old IP server address and not his new one. I am new to the server and was curious who's problem this is. Mine or the clients?

  • Sending photos from iphone, email bounces every time.

When I got iLife 08 last week and published my gallery, everything worked fine including sending photos from my iPhone, and they would show up on my gallery. For the last two days when I tried to send a new photo from my iPhone to my web gallery I get an email that bounces back and says...
    "...Relaying denied, try authenticating"
All other mail sends fine, but from my iPhone sending directly to my webgallery it won't work. How might I fix this?
    Thank you.

I've come across with the same problem. It worked up until the last two days. Now when I try to send an email to my web gallery to update a photo from my iPhone I also get an email bouncing back saying "...relaying denied, try authenticating..."
I made no changes to my web gallery prior to this happening.
I deleted the existing gallery and created a new gallery. I get the same response when trying to upload an email from my iPhone.

  • Check Email Bounce Back

    Hi Experts,
My client needs to check if an email bounces back to the SAP inbox. The email is sent using the function module 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks and regards,
    Vishal.

Normally the mails will be sent out by SCOT program. Hence you don't have a control in your program whether the mail will bounce or not?
If any failure happens the mail status will be updated in user's outbox folder.
You need to check whether the sent mail status is success or not, if failure then take an action.
For this you need write a program to read the user's mails status.

  • How do I stop emails Bounced message notifications? Have already deleted all emails.

How do I stop emails bounced message notifications?

I don't believe there is a way, because the server is going to continue to retry sending the messages until a time out happens.  Once the time out passes, you will no longer receive the bounced email messages.

  • Email bounces that didn't happen in different system

This month, we switched our newsletter from Constant Contact to Business Catalyst. In analyzing the results of the first issue, I noted about 18 emails that had hard bounces, even though they always went through under the old system. In most cases, I am inclined to say 'no big loss' because the history showed no action. But three of them were in the habit of opening the newsletter, and one has even clicked through to our website or other links.
The most common message in the report was "Bad destination mailbox address," not "Address does not exist." What does that mean?

Yes this needs to be fixed.
I've been having the same issues and have logged a couple support cases recently. Adobe can you guys have someone look into Email deliverability.
Recently I logged the same support ticket, we could email people fine. But we couldn't blast to them through BC email marketing. We sent through a list of people (a lot) and it never got anywhere except some email responses.
But now this needs to be looked at.
Recently I've spoken to other partners that are noticing the same issues.
Let me know if you need any more information

  • Email Bounce Back

    Hi,
The email will auto bounce back if I send email and the recipient is point to my contact group. How to solve this issue. The bounce back email is shows below:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
    [email protected]?
The format of the e-mail address isn't correct. A correct address looks like this: [email protected] Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message.
    Diagnostic information for administrators:
    Generating server: 172.18.1.202
    [email protected]?
    #550 5.1.3 STOREDRV.Submit; invalid recipient address #SMTP#
    Thanks

    Hi,
This NDR message indicates that the format of the recipient's address is not incorrect.
I've noticed that there is a question mark behind the email address:
    "[email protected]?
    #550 5.1.3 STOREDRV.Submit; invalid recipient address #SMTP#".
Please check whether you have mistakenly added an question mark behind the address, then try again.

  • Spoofer email Bounce backs create invalid account on server

Every now and then one of those bottom feeding spoofers starts spoofing our domain name with a random account name to send out scads of spam - and of course the inevitable slew of bounce backs from the unfortunate "spamees" then flood our server. Fortunately I do use the excellent Frontline spam defense which helps tremendously.
What I am finding really odd is that these spoofers sometimes use a username of the variety "<[email protected]>" and for whatever reason this actually creates(?!) an account name in our email directory on the server?! (Acl privileges are l,r,s (any))
I have analyzed the traffic and there is absolutely no outbound mail going from our server with this username from our server (i.e. our server has definitely not been cracked)- I further verify this by checking the IP address of initial sender from some of the bouncebacks which have ALL info of the email transaction and it is definitely the work of a spoofer.
The "account" is relatively easy to delete with Siradmin - create an acl for the administrator with all privileges and then delete the account. There is nothing in it.
However I am just wondering if A) This odd "feature" (read bug!) is something that is known, and B) How can I possibly stop this strange behavior from happening again.
Any help or advise would be most appreciated.
    Regards,
    Rohin

Mails to non existent shared folders create this shared folders like you mentioned above:

this creates the shared folder "Shared Folders/xxx.test2"
If the part in front of the + is not defined in imapd.conf and no user with this name is present it gets rejected:

  • Incoming email bounces

All email sent to me is bouncing back to the sender.  I've turned off blocking and even added some addresses to the safe senders list.  I'm using webmail, so I'm sure my email client isn't the problem.  I've spent hours with tech support, but that has been useless.
Anyone familiar with this problem?  Thanks.

What is the reason listed in the bounceback message that the senders are receiving? Knowing what error they are getting will help determine how to resolve the issue.

  • Netflix emails bouncing for no reason

I know there is another post regarding this issue, but I couldn't post on it. My problem is exactly the same, I received Netflix emails fine until the end of October and then my Netflix account kept advising me my email address was incorrect. so I would re-enter it over and over again to no avail. Also I made sure all of my spam settings and any other possible filters and blocks were disabled, but nothing here either. The problem seems strictly specific to Netflix alone and I called them and they said they get notice of a bounce but no details why it occurs. I can't find any reason this should be occurring. It's fairly important to me that Netflix be able to contact me at this email.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I entered it on my account page in all small-case, so I assume they send email based on the way I entered it. Verizon.net addresses should not be case-specific, I don't think.

  • BT Email bounce backs

Friends who send emails to my BT addresses are getting bounce backs occasionally, It's as if the mail servers don't know my address. If they try a little later it goes through. Is there something up with one, or more, of the BT mail servers? I'm on the "new" BT Email.

I and 3 others I know of are also getting these occasional bounce backs.  Yesterday I spent over an hour being bounced around within BT until I finally got someone to accept some responsibility to investigate.  Most of the "help desk" want you to log out and in again or change your password or will 'pass you on to correct department', failing to understand that access to my inbox is not the issue, it's the non-arrival of original emails that is.
In my case many of the returned emails are sent from my website when re-directing me an email to me.  The re-directed email fails, generates the error email which does arrive!  Both emails going to the same email address within milli-seconds of each other.  I have yet to have the error email rejected thus causing a third email to be sent!
When I asked for an email address to send a copy of what I was getting as the error message I was told they don't have one.  A communications company that offers email services that doesn't have an email address for the help desk!  No wonder they don't understand their customers frustrations with the [lack of] service offered.  After asking to speak to a manager an email address was provided and I have sent them the reject email with full headers and have been promised a response within 48 hours.  I will just have to wait and see before escalating this further.
They did comment at one point that there were no problems indicated on their servers, to which I had to point out that this was the very reason I was calling them.  Just because there is nothing indicated their end does not mean we, the punters, aren't having problems.
So I'm sorry you, too, are getting this issue but at least it gives me more ammunition that it's nothing to do with my particular set up, but more obviously with something in the BT network.  I doubt anyone in BT actually reads these forums, but I can direct them to this thread if needed.

  • I'm getting conflicting email bounce reports

My boss received two email notifications of undeliverable email from our last newsletter. Neither are in the bounce report, and both remain on the email list
After reading the god-awful gibberish that accompanies such messages, I came across this line:
    List-Unsubscribe: <http://www.mcrinc.com/CampaignProcess.aspx?A=Unsubscribe&VID=60183789&KID=228332>
I am guessing that it was not the original email that bounced, but the message returned when the recipient tried to unsubscribe. Does that sound accurate? And if so, why would these Unsubscribe emails be bouncing? The last thing we want to do is piss people off who are trying to get us out of their mailboxes.
Also, I notice references to amazonses.com, which has popped up in a lot of error messages lately.  What is that?

Licensing has nothing to do with your technical issues. Since you didn't provide any relevant facts like system information or a better explanation of what actually went wrong, nobody can help you. If the download stopped halfway through, simply try again. Otherwise provide a better explanation and the necessary info.

  • Emails bouncing back as undelivered

I have a client that is trying to send out an e-mail to a specific e-mail address but it bounces back saying the e-mail could not be delivered and this is a permanent error contact your ISP (I also believed my client mentioned something about too many attempts
or something along those lines) Does this mean my client might be black listed?  I don't have the exact error msg in front of me due to not having the computer myself but I am wondering if anyone has seen this before, or something similar, and what
steps have been taken to resolve this issue.
    Thank You

    Hello,
Any update on this issue? Please don't hesitate to post back.
In addition, please try sending an email to the specific user from webmail to see if it sends successfully.
Please also try removing the recipient from your contact folder and deleting the autocomplete entry for the recipient, and then try testing the issue again.
Please let me know the result.

  • Email Bounce backs with Outlook for Mac 2011

An email I am sending to a company in the US from the UK bounces back saying there is an SMTP remote server error problem. No other emails appear to be affected. Can anyone help? Thanks

    Hi
If its only 1 domain i would then ask the recipient to check with there ISP to whitelist your domain.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Need Help! Emails bouncing or not going through!

Our emails are not going through to ATT.net and Bellsouth.net email accounts. From ATT.net email accounts we get an abuse bounce back message. From Bellsouth.net we get no bounceback messages. The emails just dont reach the recipients. Emails to Yahoo.com and all other domains go through fine. We submitted the info to [email protected] and still hasnt been resolved. We checked other blacklist services and our domain and IP address are clear of blacklisting. We need this resolved ASAP as our clients rely on ATT.net and Bellsouth.net email services.

You mention you have "clients", perhaps you should contact business support.
